I would have to say that Lithe is pretty much trigger when you need it also. You are always going to find a window or pallet.
I've always liked Sprint Burst so much better, it stops chases before they begin, it's better at stopping tunneling that DS (Because it gets you away from the hook and a soft camping killer), it's more reliable than Dead Hard and honestly waiting till the last second to use Sprint Burst has ended with more Killer missed attacks than Dead Hard has ever done for me.
Lith triggers when you fast vault, which you sometimes have to do in loops to continue one. DH can be used to gain distance to get to the next one when they've kicked the pallet or caught up to you and a fast vault wouldn't be fast enough.
I prefer Lithe, but a lot of the frustration with DH is because it's used to duck into the next loop

Since time is DBDs currency. How does Dead Hard give you more time than any other exhaustion perk? If a survivor just barely made it to a pallet because of Dead Hard, then would they also not make it to the same pallet with Sprint Burst. I just don't see how Dead Hard is any better than Lithe or Sprint Burst. Explain to me the major advantage Dead Hard gives you as a survivor.
Also, you are already saying that it never works for you as Survivor. That's happening to every survivor that plays Dead Hard. It's not some magic bullet, if fails a lot. You have confirmation bias, you see a frustrating Dead Hard play against you and all the sudden that's all you see, you're not seeing all the Dead Hard failures. However, when you play survivor, you all of the sudden see all the Dead Hard failures.
DH allows for the most control over WHEN you get that distance, compared to others that need a trigger and can be activated when you don't want and can't be when you need it.
Honestly, I think it's fine. It requires more skill than any other surv perk to use and it's funny to see a surv botch its timing
-
This is honestly one of the reasons I, as a console player, dreaded the PC crossplay. So much BS you can pull off to get an advantage or worse that isn't possible on consoles

Haha yeah. Seems to be trend that the devs keep doing. Remember key rework they said back in January? lol. They need to learn and deliver on their promises.
They need to stop promising things when they aren't sure about the direction or projected time. "We have a key rework/LGBT surv/ice cream bars coming" is just going to make people MORE upset. Don't announce ######### before it's even in its beta stages. I learned that in my first year. It's not terribly complicated. The real answer is pinning it in a very visible place with a "We'll consider it" and boom. That's done. No promises, no obligations, no overt disappointment.
-
If you can come up with a similar pity system for killers, I'm down for it

I semi-agree. But even so, they should not have announced this nearly a year ago if they knew it wasnt going to come anytime soon.
Yeah and that's what I say devs should never give announcements or dates unless it's close to completion. Because then everyone is wondering about the feature you announced LAST YEAR and the only thing you can say is "Still not here yet"
Then why did you announce it, genius? It's like announcing you're going to have a baby because you got a Tinder match. Way too soon.

My friend gets really annoyed when people don't do it. I personally never expect anyone to ever take a hit for me, but it makes sense if we're both injured and you have a BT still going

I do agree that it should be addressed. There are people who have said that BHVR needs to keep giving updates on other things that they've already addressed (such as the current round of glitches) but I feel that it would be pointless to just say "we're still working on it" if there's nothing more that they can give us. The cross-progression, on the other hand, hasn't been addressed in a long time, at least not that I'm aware of. It would nice to know if they just dropped the idea or what.
This, sorta. All they can say is if it's finished or not. Giving dates or projected dates is always a bad idea in development
-
There is, yeah. I do tend to be left on hooks more often when it's solo survs because they're more concerned about their own neck. I'm also not great and don't find endlessly looping a rock or window fun, so they tend to see whomever gets caught (especially first) as a weak link. But I do find quite a few that will unhook and will heal or stop healing you if you interrupt it due to spine chill or because you have resilience
-
Hag = Hagitha
Doctor = Shock Jock
Wraith was actually ghostface until... You know... Also "Ugly Breathing" because my friend often forgot the English word for him.
Bubba = Basement Buddy (was made before his reworks, when Insidious Leatherface was the norm)
Trickster: Jimin and because of it, I make sure to very overtly show how unafraid of him every time I am against one.

My worst is when there's a Pig. You even hear the roar for the "OH $#@!" Reaction
Or. The very worst. When The Pig sneaks up and works on the generator with you. The horror
-
Calling it dropping the ball is what makes it so entitled. They didn't do more that you wanted so the ball has been dropped? I guess everyone should start making threads about each specific celebratory month and how Dbd doesn't come out with a new character and flag or event for it.

I enjoyed breaking out the red moris when a team of P3 survivors showed up. But yeah, they should have been nerfed. Same with brand new parts. I'm almost surprised they let Huntress' one shot run roughshod for so long

I get far angrier as a killer than I do as survivor, but I just find it more fun. There's also, admittedly, a power fantasy aspect to it.
I think the two most enjoyable things in this game are playing killer against survivors that aren't TOO good, and playing survivor with a friend against killers that don't camp and tunnel. Winning and losing doesn't matter at that point for me
-
I stopped doubting it when they somehow got Freddy in. They can make any killer work, even if it doesn't make sense.

Nope. You have far less ground to stand on. I am playing the game as intended and advertised; you are not. I bought the game to play an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game. You bought it to dick around with your buddy in a corner with pebble.
You are objectively doing it wrong; I am not.
We BOTH escaped that game. I still play it as an asymmetrical horror game, me tossing a pebble to someone on their first hook when I was on my last, wasn't nice but was smart as it was funny. We still got out, but oh boo hoo we didn't play it the way you wanted so I have no ground to stand on?
First: Learn what objectively means.
Second: Swf is a feature in the game, so OBJECTIVELY I was playing the game as intended by the devs and using a perk to distract the killer as it's advertised.
Pathetic. It's my subjective opinion that your salty, entitled responses aren't worth engaging anymore. Go ahead and get the last word, but I won't be feeding you anymore.

Convince you that dc'ing is a good idea? It's not. Content creators or streamers or whatever the heck people call them, they aren't always right. The fact that people take their word so highly is honestly creepy.
Convince you that dc'ing is a bad idea because you don't want to play against those killers? You'll never get better against them if you always rage quit.

I don't understand what you even want. Do you want nobody to care if you ruin games for your fun? Some of us come for a good competitive game within the confines of DbD's rules. That's our fun. You are ruining that. Play properly or go to VRChat or something where you and your buddy can roleplay being idiots without screwing up anyone's experience.
Counter point: You are one person and we are 2. If YOU leave and go somewhere else where you don't ruin our fun, more people would be happy. See how selfish and obtuse that line of logic is?
I doubt you can.

Spirit and Wraith. I decided to play a few games as spirit and get rid of the anniversary cakes she's been hoarding.
Never played her before, only time someone escaped was when there was a team of 4 experienced loopers. And I STILL got two.

Problems only feel worse if you continue to dwell on them every time. Try to be more positive instead of complaining about them all the time and you may not find it so bad.
Also, English isn't my first language either. That's why it's hard for me to piece it together when it's separate.

What do we want? For them to actually fix the mother ######### game. 5 years of "we are looking into it" enough is enough.
They've also been diligently churning out patches for 5 years to fix things. New things break and new things need to be fixed and almost none of them can be done instantly. It's not that ######### hard to understand. The real problem is that they won't stop to make a health chapter

At least Warframe DOES bug patches that actually fix the important stuff compared to the BHVR devs who introduce new bugs every single patch. Yes, I realize it's going to happen, and yes, I know there are reasons why simple and easy solutions may not have happened. However, we have been promised optimization on all platforms since 2019, and this chapter only made it worse - this supposed hotfix didn't even actually address the frame-rate issues. Those are the things that need addressing and it has been long overdue, but because it didn't affect the ENTIRE fanbase, it didn't matter. That's the frustrating part; add on that this hotfix came out on a Tuesday, as scheduled, when the definition of a hotfix is to get it out asap to try and fix the issue (a.k.a. send out a 500mb update if it helps fix a few problems) - that's what should be happening.
You weren't listening: Warframe creates more bugs each patch too. Some are game breaking and their UI update to consoles still has problems that they haven't addressed. Their open world, for instance, is a buggy mess. My friend just grinded to get an archgun and it's bugged out the waz. Larkspur got glitched out and disappeared when he used his mech. Host migration causing people to lose progress. Being stuck for an entire mission because you glitched through something or into something. I could go on far longer but to say they actually fix the important bugs and Dbd don't, is just wrong.
You again don't understand that they have to find, recreate and solve what's causing the issue. The deadline for this hotfix to come out is Tuesday, so they were only able to push out the fixes that were actually done. The dropping frame rate IS mentioned as something they're working on, but rushing them doesn't make it better. It makes it worse. You don't rush someone to boil an egg or it just comes out wrong. And you don't hire more people to boil one egg because you think it'll finish quicker.

If there were two-pieces-set, I'd consider to get the Leon's one.
Jill's head is the same, but Leon's is basically just a different hair cut. It pisses me off because he still looks like a baby despite RE4 Leon not being a rookie

Those posts usually go into detail about their complaints with SWF involving imbalance and their frustrations with survivors on comms. What reason would they have to mention the nice players when they're addressing issues that negatively affect the killer side? You should know by now what the issue with SWF is and why it is bashed on constantly. You even mentioned yourself about swat squads being dreadful.
Those people may have caused the outrage, but they then go on to suggest a change or nerf to the entirety of swf. Trying to get the entire game mode removed or nerfed or saying it's garbage affects the whole of swf and not just the baddies.
Don't get me wrong, I've been there. I'd rather be tunneled and camped than deal with a 4 man swat team. A rude killer is just annoying, a team of 4 rude people trying to piss you off is frustrating. But see, the difference is that I experience that and don't go on to try and ruin or generalize swf. I just call them dicks
-
@Khar said:
No one's complaining about nice SWF players.
Oh really? I didn't see the distinction being made. Most of the complaints don't say "SWF SHOULD BE REMOVED OR NERFED (except for the nice ones)!!!!!!"

@DBD_IS_AWSOME said:
I think there should be an option for no SWF lobbies in the settings for killers! It’s ridiculous somtimes. Sometimes it’s not even a fair fight. Having friends tell each your position at all times? Way to powerful and unfair!
C'mere, I want you to follow that idea line with me.
If people see SWF as a problem and don't want to deal with it, they'll turn it off and never back on unless they were prepared to go full SEAL team. Who would they get? Solo survivors, who are the easier targets most of the time. Which means most killers would go for the easier win. So you would get the hardcore killers against solo survivor only, and the baby killers that don't know better than to turn it off against all of the worst SWF out there, which will make them turn it off.
You'd only make both sides unhappy and increase the lobby wait times for everyone involved.
-
@UniSans said:
The issue is, that you can't balance around the rare occasions its some guys tying to troll each other. I do that a lot with my friends but we expect to lose is the thing. SWF does have some issues that need addressing or just making it easier to identify if it is a SWF. The biggest issue is that you won't know if it is a sweat squad or a guys having fun, and the thing is sometimes people who sweat are having fun with their friends.
Considering the supposed kill rate, sweat squads are actually the rare occasion.

Well it is the same for killer like me that go out of their way to avoid any form of camping and tunneling and only slug to avoid an early kill before 8 hooks were done.
I also have to read on a daily basis that every last killer is a toxic jerk that uses the above mentioned strategies and so on.
Just like teabagging, head nodding and so on we have to ignore this stuff and not feel addressed by it ourselves.
Honestly right on. I'm sick of each side bashing each other in general. Surv main did this, killer main did that and it's all so, so exhausting.

I don't code. I will be the first to admit that and I am aware that even a semi colon out of place or even a period, a typo, etc. However, I will say that they could hire more or more experienced coders. Heck, as someone said on another post, they could reach out to Warframe devs and see if they could help or provide some insight because I'm sure they would be willing to - especially since they're a SMALLER Canadian developer than BHVR. It's not hard to at least TRY to connect or find better coders out there. Get on Reddit and you'll find someone.
You seriously bring up Warframe? I've played Warframe years longer than Dbd and there are STILL bugs in there from my first year. Warframe has to constantly patch after every frame and update comes out because something is broken! When Sevagoth came out, I couldn't move every time his ult ended and I had to wait until the patch came to fix it so I could use his full kit. Warframe needs help themselves, they don't have the luxury of helping out.
"Better coders" doesn't work like that. Coding is such a complex network that someone could be the best at coding the algorithm for bloodwebs, but useless at finding the bug that causes chests to not spawn items. It's highly doubtful that someone plucked off Reddit or another insecure spot will have the specific expertise required to work with this tangled mess of a code in game and fix every single problem there is.
What I'm trying to get at is: There's very often a reason that simple and easy proposed solutions haven't been tried yet.

When survivors do poorly in a game the killer gets off with 32000 for the kills, yet when a killer does poorly, gets no hooks, gets run around all game, and loses we get depipped because he couldn't hook so we don't get to unhook? ######### kind of BS logic is that? Fix the scoring in this game, we shouldn't be penalized for your incompetence.
A killer getting 32k isn't a survivor doing poorly, it's just a survivor not winning. If a killer gets 4 immediate hooks because all the survivors did poorly, he doesn't get all those points.
Here, let me do it this way
"Why are Killers getting punished for hard stomping survivors? We slug them all in the first 4 minutes, hook them and they die immediately. Why do I still depip because I didn't let them unhook? Fix your game."
