Naming and shaming is against the rules, period. Doesn't matter if the person in question deserves it or not.
What's naming them here going to do, anyway?

It’s definitely not fun being body blocked by a BT. I’ve always thought protective hits should disable BT. It wouldn’t fix it but it would stop certain abuses of it.
As i've been informed before, the game's definition of a protection hit is shockingly broad.
What'd probably be a better fix is to just disable collision for the survivor with BT.
-
Personally, I think it's hilarious when the survivor with BT tries to body-block me.
I just stand there while they run into me. And then we just stare at eachother.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The survivor finally realizes what's about to happen and starts booking it.
Unfortunately, I was counting.

There's really not much wrong with RPD once you learn the layouts, the map being too dark on medium and lower graphic settings is a problem but outside of that I got no problems with the map. I gotta put up with people playing Haddonfield offerings all the time but god forbid I want to go to RPD and suddenly I'm the bad guy and it's fair game that everyone should be able to suicide/disconnect on the map. Maybe I should do the same thing whenever somebody starts playing haddonfield.
You are the villain of the match if you bring an RPD offering from either side, though.

Short answer: Because they can.
It doesn't matter whether you're toxic or not.
If players dominate in PVP games (doesn't matter what pvp game really) some will taunt the defeated players because that's just human nature.
Just to name 1 off-DBD example. I played Destiny 2 PVP the other day. 3 vs 3 mode.
Both of my teammates disconnected but I still wanted to give it a try against 3 other players. Obviously I got curbstomped AND tbagged, shot on the ground etc. despite not even using anything strong. No meta weapon or anything and literally 3 vs 1.
Why did they act like total scum? Because they can. Simple as that.
Dead By Daylight is no different. There are many bad winners and PVP games naturally attract all of them.
See, the problem was that you were playing Destiny.

I absolutely agree that this game is by no mean on the level of competitive as those titles. They aim for almost perfect balance from the top down and have 0 RNG. When you play Mario party you still are playing to win right? In most case your not playing super "sweaty" but you are going to take ever opportunity that one of your opponents gives you to win. This game is no different imo.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461865#Comment_2461865
Each killer has only 1-2 maps each that really destroy there chances so more often then not you'll end up on a map this is ok for your power. Honestly the whole "RNG" of tiles is kind of off I mean shouldn't you get some levels that have alot of dead zones if you get alot of maps that have super safe tiles right next to each other if its random?
I just don't agree with the the face that people like to say oh this isn't a competitive game when by its very nature it is. Now I do want to point out that there is different levels of competitive Dbd being more towards the bottom but to try and say that this game is no way competitive its wrong
I, personally, play Mario Party to lose spectacularly and drag everyone down with me, but there's nothing wrong with playing any game as sweaty or as casually as you want to.
People know exactly what they're getting into with Mario Party, but don't make the same connection with DbD for some reason-- which is why you hear it clarified a lot that it's not a competitive game. You usually wanna win, of course, but the broad definition of 'competitive' in this context is something like E-sports.
-
There's the literal definition of the word "competitive" and what people actually mean when they say "competitive".
Every game is technically competitive. Games like League, DOTA, CS:GO? Those are really competitive. People really want to get good at them. There's massive, massive tournaments for those games, with actual competitive teams with massive payoffs on the line, mostly because they're by-and-large balanced and a spectacle at the highest level.
DbD is about as actually competitive as Mario Party.

I think it’s hilarious myself. Why not?
I’ve played killer long enough to know survivors will have 0 hesitations when it comes to bullying you if you play bad.
But after years of playing I’m experienced enough to not really take any of the guff and I BM habitually
Well, you gotta respect the honestly.

@SilentPill said:
I BM survivors out of habit when I win.
Why? If I lose as killer there’s like a 95% chance of teabags at the exit gate. Im just a product of my environment.
Y'know, that's not a fact most people are proud of.
-
They're frustrated and need to take it out on someone?
Someone teabagged them last game and you're filling in for them?
You played survivor and that's an act of aggression against them?
A bizarre hatred for all life?
I don't know, man.
-
Jesus christ that's horrifying.

I just don't even understand why do it in the first place. They started off the game making noise notifications so I'd go to them just so they get head on my 3 times in a row and start tea bagging and flashlights. Then message me to tell me I suck after getting a 3K on them >_>
Because every game has a subsection of people who can only feel joy when they feed off others' misery.

But it does? I know you know this grandpa. Comms are a huge advantage for swfs. Dbd is just not balanced enough for comms. We all know this but ignore the fact. You could play all you want with friends but once you open up that comms then you're just doing more than just having "fun".
Who the hell's ignoring that? We all know comms are a massive advantage.
If that's all you're trying to say, don't do this borderline conspiratorial accusation against SWFs that all they want is the competitive edge.
Yeah, they DO just want to play a game with their friends about 90% of the time. Half of my games with my friends end with us dead and laughing.
-
All of it.
Loops well, uses resources efficiently, knows when to make a save, make a heal, what gens to blow through and what gens to leave for later..
The more people you can bring with you through the gates, the better.

This isn't a Survivor vs Killer debate.
There are only people who try to ruin other people's experiences and people who play the game normally.
That's it, no wiggle room, end of discussion.
B-b-b-but I can't feel vindicated in my preferred role of choice if I can't prove that the other side is genetically predisposed towards evil.
:C

I don't begrudge it, I do it myself when i've gotta, but it's moderately annoying.

Ruin being used on Tournaments isn´t a sign of being strong. Its a sign that killers struggle with gen speed at take everything that might net them even a few more seconds.

It's a lot easier to have less complaints about something when they're not actively grinding their boot into the back of your head, yeah.

Hey, if it works, it works.

How would it make it worst? There's nothing stopping more casual players to play ranked to also play against more casual people.
Besides, more competitive players have literally no other option other than current matchmaking. Would be nice to have a setting where EVERY ONE is actually skilled and playing to win.
If they have an actual, proper way of measuring skill, as well as actually being able to define a win, as well as some major gameplay balancing, plus an actual incentive to be good and get better at this silly game, then i'd be down for it.

That never stopped Overwatch, LoL, CoD or any other game with a ranked mode from adding ranked mode.
I think ranked in DbD would be a great idea if they did it similar to some games.
For example, in LoL you could play with a full party in casual but on ranked you could only play a duo with someone if they were near your ranking.
If DbD ranked allowed the max SWF of 2 players and casual could have 4 man SWF i think itd be fine.
Overwatch, LoL and CoD are far, far more balanced games that actually function at the highest level and has minimal to none RNG involved in the deciding of a match.
None of which can be said about DbD. Game balance is a joke, tournament level play is a bad joke and the game's often decided the moment the map loads up.
There's no incentive or reward to get better. Thus, a ranked mode will stay a nice pipe dream until BHVR actually seriously-- and I mean seriously fixes their game.

That was your mistake. You don't win by playing nice, at least if you play against SWF. SWF play the game to make killers feel miserable, that's their sole purpose of playing the game. So why would you play nice against a sweatsquad who is here to bully you?
Is that an actual opinion you actually have or are you just a big fan of hyperbole?
-
Do whatever you want.
-
..
-
Because meta DbD gameplay is super lame and boring.

Unless you literally just instantly go down the second they see you, probably not.

B-b-but I have 7000 hours on RE2 so I can navigate the map perfectly and I like it :C

Yea, I figured I would post about it before and remind people since I am sitting here anyways waiting for the reset to happen before joining the que for another match. Your right though some will still complain. Especially those that rage quit and have to wait an extended amount of time to join another match.
I'm still shocked that this literally happens at the same time of the same day every week for years and years and people still don't connect the dots.
-
Can't wait for the 10 threads about getting """randomly""" disconnected and yelling at BHVR anyway.
