I mean boon totems are pretty much the same 🤔
Are you also taking the same time to curse the totem in a live match, as they do to bless? From what I understand, boon totems are much louder than hexes too. And their effects aren’t map-wide.
-
There can't just be an immediate give up option, but I would be totally ok with something like an accelerated bleed out by the survivor's choice. For example, holding M2 causes the bleed out rate to double, but also makes it apparent on the UI so the killer can plan accordingly.

How much time Hag has to be in the game until survivors learn how to use crouch button for something useful for once?
Ah yes, let me just crouch walk over traps around a hooked survivor to get the unhook.. only for her to return right back and force us to trigger them all anyways.
-
It wouldn't work from a balance perspective. Killers would just choose the most obscure placements for their hexes, except for ones they would want destroyed.
-
It doesn’t start each killer’s MMR low. It averages it based on your other killers’ MMRs then adjusts as you perform well or not.
-
It’s not the worst because it can actually be achieved by normal gameplay, but it is definitely grindy and tedious.
Still haunted by the five hits in Feral Frenzy one…

Boldness points are weird, sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. It doesn't have anything to do with Head On.
You get 50 points for leaving a locker in the killer’s TR, up to five times per trial. Except in the circumstance I mentioned above.
-
It took a very long time. Very grindy and situational. Although strangely I seemed to have noticed progress for just any unhook on at least one occasion. Unless it was in my head, but I frickin’ took it.

I can attest to this. Just had another one moments ago, blatantly escaped the trial while downed nowhere near the gates or hatch.
I'm no developer or coder, but can't they have some sort of auto-detect system that things are going outside possible parameters? For example, a player escaping but not via the hatch or gate; or moving faster than possible even with certain perks, etc.
-
Just had yet another blatant survivor cheater (escaped at the end of the match after being downed nowhere near the gates or hatch), might have to give up on killer myself. I don't encounter killer cheaters, at least to my knowledge.

I'm not sure if they are really not allowed to change maps. Both Badham and The Game got reworked already, afterall. They could have met an agreement with the license holders, or that might be included in the contract.
The difference here is that RPD is a specific building set within another video game's world (for this reason we'll almost undoubtedly never see Midwhich changed either - also based on another video game). Springwood and The Game aren't like that - they are based on films where you just get shots of various places. It's up to your imagination mostly as to what the whole place could look like. Hope that makes sense.

Hopefully.
The crying is way out of proportion, it is one map, but instead of just sucking it up when someone plays on a Map they dont like, they rush to the Forums to complain, because they played 1 game out of 30 or whatever on a Map they dont like.
I almost always agree with your sentiments on these forums, but this time I find myself in disagreement. This map is horribly designed for Dead by Daylight unlike any other map before it. Even as much complaint Haddonfield gets, RPD is in an entire category of its own. It should have never made its way into the game, and because it's licensed there probably isn't enough wiggle room to modify it.
I legitimately only burn this map offering as survivor when I am frustrated with my teammates from the prior match. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone from first phase to struggle, or even death on this map - with Kindred equipped. It's outrageous.
-
Have fun! Easier said than done.
-
That is way too much information for free on a 20 second cooldown. Especially for things that have no reason giving the survivor's location away.
-
Dang, RIP my legacy charm.
-
Clarivoyance is a garbage tier perk. Pretty hilarious that they introduce a perk for cleansing totems with the survivor who is also introducing boon totems. Besides that, the effect is straight up trash though.
-
The only issue I can think of hiding names in-game is when two or more survivors are using the same survivor and outfit. But that is a minor concern relative to the overall issue you brought up.
At the very least, names need to be removed in the pre-game lobby.

I guess thats no more a problem though than people bringing maps or small game etc and blitzing totems, its another reason why it can work in a killers favour!
As if we don’t have enough trouble of survivors trolling other survivors, here’s another way! I will honestly quit solo survivor altogether if this makes it to live as is.
-
Mechanically, it was not thought out. If I understand it correctly, a mod confirmed you cannot cleanse blessed totems. So I can’t even cleanse it for Inner Strength or for Counterforce?
Explain to me the logic here.
-
RIP Inner Strength and Counterforce? Not sure this was a well thought out decision, making boon totems have to be applied to hex and dull totems.
-
I changed my mind, but her non-boon totem perk is 100% doo doo.
-
Define "updated". More survivor item nerfs?

OP because it let 3 survivors escape with only 4 gens done and the killer couldn’t do a thing about it. It’s not about getting a 4K (why is this always the go to argument? It’s so weird), it’s about one item being able to end a match prematurely, with no skill, sacrifice or prerequisite to its use. Multiple survivors shouldn’t get a free escape without finishing their objective.
Keys are OP, period. That isn’t even up for debate.
"Only 4 gens done"... ok. 😂 You know that Franklin's Demise and slugging are also viable counters to keys?
Killers can also camp survivors to death with no skill or detriment to themselves. This is an asymmetrical game that isn't always about skill. What's your point?
Survivors job was to, you know, survive. The hatch and keys allowed for another opportunity for that besides the exit gates with a rare/ultra-rare item. If you found the hatch and had others present. Mind you it also was an option to prevent survivors hiding and holding the game hostage, can't wait to see the further rise in that existing problem!

They were broken OP. It was time for them to go.
Ah yes, so OP because it prevented a 4k and required three generators to be completed, or three survivors dead, before any potential use.
-
RIP Keys 2016-2021. Another practically useless rare/ultra-rare survivor item.

He perfectly understands. U pick your map offering and force killer to play it, and survivors do it quite often. Before anything about lobby is done, remove map offerings at all so it will be fair for both sides.
OP said this is for whoever didn’t DC. So if a killer DC’d due to a map offering, this would not apply to them.
Killers also have the option to play map offerings and Sacrificial Wards.

But I don't wanna play that map.
I’m sure other players feel the same about lots of maps. But by playing DbD, you acknowledge it’s a possibility you can load into that map by offering or simply by chance.
-
Lowering gen speeds is innately a nerf...?

Bans shouldn't apply if you leave during loading bc then I'd be forced to play RPD if someone puts up an RPD badge.
Remove, or extensively rework that map and then I'd be fine with a penalty for disconnecting on loading.
Oh ok, so we’re gonna hold off on a necessary feature because of one map? You’re not going to die in real life to play the map every so often.
-
@Harold_Shipman said:
No because then people will just pull their cable out during the load in time if they see a haddonfield offering etc
You’re not understanding OP. They want priority queue times for all others that didn’t disconnect during match loading.
To help solve what you said, bans should apply to disconnects during loading. It’s a mystery they don’t already.
-
Agreed! Priority requeue is a must-have for DbD.

So you playing for 4 years. Since double pallet gyms, pallet vacuums, pallets literally everywhere, infinite loops, god windows, huge maps, recovering exhaustion while running, busted DS, insta heals, and you decided to "quit" now where killer is easier than it's ever been.
Okay.
Not to mention nerfed gen co-op speeds.

Also, another heads up, even though The Legion uses an M1 attack while in Feral Frenzy this DO NOT COUNT for the challenge. I found this out the hard way and brought it up in aftergame chat and one of the Survivors claimed to be a Legion main and had found out the same thing.
I don't remember who I wound up finishing this challenge with, but map offering are your friend here. Go into smaller maps, run as many info Perks as you can and don't worry too much about gen defense.
The sad thing about a lot of challenges is you basically have to ignore normal gameplay to get them. Combo King isn't really one of those but it's a bit awkward at times. Dark Devotion is fun with it though. Find the Obsession, hit them and go find someone else. It also gives you a 30 second clock so you have a somewhat better idea on when that 60 seconds is up.
I’m not really sure it’s that bad, as I got it over two matches playing normally as Plague!

Twins, demo, freddy, pallet validation, etc
Twins I can agree with you. The increased cooldown should have only been applied to missed pounces. They still need certain buffs but also nerfs.
What were the Demo nerfs?
Freddy’s kit is still bloated and boring, even after the nerf.

How does me saying this is a problem make me a killer main (2,945 hours of gameplay and the majority played as survivor)?
Whenever someone says something is a problem with 1 side, it must mean they belong to the other side, just make your point, doesn't have to be an us vs them thing!
I bring a flashlight 50% of my games and a med kit the other 50%, if the killer sees I have these and brings Frankie's, fair enough(if all survivors have an item I'll unequip cause it's almost certain). If they skip lobby, fair enough, hardly makes the wait much longer for me!
Comparing last second changes to chests....how is that a comparison, honestly should be the only way to get keys anyways, if you're bringing them, says a lot about you as a survivor.
Either way, you guys haven't made points as to why survivors shouldn't be locked into that survivor when you join lobby, you've basically said you just don't want it to happen. Which is fine, it's you opinion on the matter, I just want an actual counter-argument as to why survivors can swap and killers cannot?
I did explain why not, I guess you glossed over it? I say again: lock both roles from making any modifications (character, perks, and items/add-ons), or change nothing at all.
Killer players can no longer swap characters after queueing due to each killer’s individual MMR.
-
Yeah, pretty weird there's no ban penalty for disconnecting during the loading screen. One person is punishing four other people who waited X number of minutes to play the game. This should be changed.

sure
Freddy nerfs back when his power took 9 seconds to attack you.
Hillbilly needs a cooldown for his power yea sure XD let's buff Bubba and nerf billy.
Not a nerf but it took almost 5 years for trapper to finally get addons to carry all his traps like what?!?!
Hopefully this at least give you a idea of what I mean.
Old Freddy nerfs? But he's a completely reworked killer now.
Yes, Billy does. Every killer special attack has a cooldown. Why should a Billy be able to rev the chainsaw without repercussions? Just enables facecamping, this makes sure chainsaw use is calculated. And hopefully they're correcting his add-ons with the upcoming mid-chapter patch.
You just said Trapper is getting buffed.. that's the opposite of a nerf.
These are some pretty bad examples mate.
-
Besides Hillbilly's add-ons, can you provide any examples of unjustified killer nerfs?
-
I have to ask because it's not really clear. Do you know that you're able to recall Victor from a latched survivor after a certain amount of time?
-
The entitled killer main vibe is unreal on these forums. Flashlights and keys would literally become dead items overnight, thanks to perks that completely negate their use. Why the heck do you think survivors have to do this in the first place?
I'll compromise with you and say we can have the DbD mobile lobby. No one can switch anything, game starts five seconds after finding all five players. Either play the match or leave the lobby.
-

Although, she is still in the game. Just not going to be unbalanced anymore. 🤷♂️

If it's a facecamp wherein the killer's physically blocking hook access, that is reportable as body blocking. Otherwise, you're out of luck.
Is that even possible? Since the option to unhook a survivor from a swivel was introduced?
-
It usually ends up being 4/5 ready anyways, so usually pointless. And as mentioned above, just take the time to do other things. That or I’m toxic switching and need to be the last person to ready or wait until six seconds to go.

So you bring up other issues assuming that I have a specific opinion about them? That is one of the worst things you can do in an argument I'm sorry. I do think NOED is an issue and slugging is boring for survivors but my gosh you people make up the worst assumptions about people.
What specific opinions did I assume? I simply turned the table on your point about Stridor, Iron Will, and Spirit in the form of a question.
-
@GannTM said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2517566#Comment_2517566
I’m assuming you took a long break from the game? Stridor got nerfed to where it doesn’t counter Iron Will in patch 5.1.0. Even if it didn’t get nerfed, should Spirit players be forced to bring in a perk to counter a perk that a survivor may or may not have? Survivors said the same thing about Iron Will with Spirit.
No one ever forced Spirit players to run Stridor; it was just the no brainer thing to do to counter a meta survivor perk against a meta killer. You still choose to run it or not, just like survivors with Iron Will.
And I could completely flip your argument on its head. Should every survivor have to run Small Game to track totems in case the killer has NOED? Unbreakable in the case of Twins or Oni? And on and on.
-
@Maliken said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2517152#Comment_2517152
Blood isn't visible for Spirit unless she has an add-on and scratch marks have a delay so they can't be relied on for precise tracking.
You asked what counterplay Iron Will had “in general”. Spirit phasing is one instance among a roster of two dozen killers.
And unless I’m mistaken, injured survivors with Iron Will still make footstep noises. Is that correct?
-
@n000b51 said:
And killer as survivors still can dodge this 'toxic' lobby from the loading screen. If the last second item switch is so toxic for you (too many flashlights that you can't deal with it I guess...), you can easily counter it in this way. It isn't considered as a DC & no penalty are applied to you for that.
So why are you complaining for that ? You know it isn't a valid complain ! And you perfectly know BHVR will never do anything about that anyways...
Right? Let me just show my flashlight, key, whatever to the killer for a solid minute, so they can equip whatever perk and/or add-on they want to counter it.
