My understanding is not, particularly seeing as you don’t get a scoring event.

The skillful gameplay Patrick and gang love to promote and will seemingly never address.
Just quit DbD. Maybe if enough people do, they'll actually fix their game!

I actually tried snuffing the totem. You'll never believe what happened! Mikaela ony went straight back to the totem and re-booned it!
I then tried slugging! You'll never beleive what happened! They used a combination of perks and/or comms to get the survivors back up again.
I also tried anti-wiggle and anti-healing perks and you know what? I didn't have any perks for my own enjoyment.
28 seconds not doing gens at least! And I’m sure plenty of survivor players out there would love to run non-meta perks of their choice too. But what ever will they do against hardcore camping and tunneling? Since perks are apparently the solution to core game problems on both sides!
-
I didn’t think you were new to DbD? Killers have plenty of options: snuffing totems, slugging if unable to hook, anti-wiggle and healing perks. And that’s just scratching the surface.
-
They’ve made it abundantly clear they don’t want hiding to be viable. Look at old photos and videos of the game compared to what we have today. They even nerfed Claudette’s bloody clothing!

Blocked gens can't explode, be damaged, or start regressing. If Pain Resonance activates, it'll just move to the next highest repaired generator - it's probably an intentional thing to stop you from stacking strong regression/blocking perks. Pretty much all the good gen slowdown perks have poor synergy with each other; for example, Ruin doesn't regress blocked gens so it doesn't work with Deadlock and DMS, and you can't kick gens with Ruin up so it doesn't work with Pop and Eruption.
One exception: Surge does work on blocked gens.

didnt they not add it because they couldnt figure out how to do it properly and it released on the ptb just not working at all?
Not sure, can't really see how hard it would be to code the opposite of the already existing Plunderer's Instinct perk though?

It was to decrease the chances of better items coming, right? I never understood why this effect never came
Yes, the main redeeming factor of the perk. I don’t either, but it should be added back as it otherwise is mostly a buff to survivors (two extra chests).

Only if Hoarder is restored to its former glory too.

This and Demo's. Five "fully charged shreds". No, can't just shred attack them. Not only is five kind of a lot, but you have to have it fully charged. Is there even an indication when a shred is fully charged?
-
It's almost a wonder survivors are still able to heal at all, given some of these forum posts.
-
If Resilience really bothers you that much, run Thanatophobia. They’ll be hurting their team more than it helps them to stay injured. Resilience and 99% healing is fine. The only way to finish the heal consistently is with Self-Care or a medkit - typically both. Which is one less meta perk for you to have to deal with.

COH's nerf was a joke, given the fact that they decided DH needed hit validation I don't think it will matter at all and instead of iron will Unbreakable should be looked at. Face it as of now it is survivor biased and seeing the toolkits shows this off easily.
Unbreakable is a one-time use perk, and the only real practical counter to slugging. Can’t typically use it without DS either. I don’t see the problem here.
-
Resilience is literally the only reason to 99 a heal. So basically, you have an issue with Resilience?

Don't listen to the others, it's not some sort of killer shortage. It's just a common statement made by the most vocal killer mains on this particular forum.
There are different peak times over the day in which there will be a surplus of either survivor or killer, whichever has more, ends up with a longer wait.
SWF's also experience significantly longer wait times than killers or solo players. As it is trying to find the middle ground in-between all of your MMR's, while also having to filter out all other SWF's.
I often will find that when I'm playing with my friends, we will have a long wait, and if I leave the team and ready up I will load in almost instantly.
Survivor main here. Been waiting several more minutes for solo queue survivor matches after today’s update, comparative to before the patch. And also compared to mere seconds for killer.
I simply said that killer is presently the more unpopular role, if the dozens of posts across various social media platforms are believed to be true.

Iri addons SHOULD be powerful and game-changing. Would that EVERY Killer's power be changed and powered-up with their Iris.
Guess you’re ok with bringing back old BNPs and AHS then? Since they should be game changing, not just do 25% of a gen or bring back one health state after several seconds.

You're referring to Judith's Tombstone and Fragrant Tuft of Hair?
Most of the time, Myers can't pop that because he needs so much stalk. If you let him get it, it's kinda on your team.
Likewise, jump in a locker. He can't mori you there.
Tombstone Piece is the other, not Fragrant Tuft of Hair.

I, for one, would be totally ok with replacing current Freddy with the original. Plus or minus a few tweaks. Current Freddy is incredibly boring and has horrific add-ons.

The devs do not make events for killer anymore.
I dunno about that. I seem to recall a recent event where it told killers which gens were event gens by the aura color???
-
Sorry that you picked the game up. It’s going to be hard to be matched with newer killers. The killer role is also very unpopular right now as well.

I would like to meet the person who can hit all of these great skill checks. Without cheats.

I'll see what my experience is like tonight playing killer during the softer hours. I'm also a console killer main. I've completely stopped spending money on the game until CoH, Dead Hard, and Iron Will are nerfed. I'm having a hard time quitting killer because the occasional game is really fun and I'm dealing with sunk cost fallacy (have almost all killers at p3 l50 with all perks). I will not be buying the upcoming chapter. Hoping people during primetime when there are more softer lobbies aren't getting their jollies trying to abuse Boil Over
CoH was already nerfed, DH changes are apparently in the works, Iron Will is fine as is. Boohoo.

Benjo was born for this update! 😂

Wow, Iron Grasp meta again?! It almost sounds like 2016 DbD! 😍
-
Heck no. That is way overpowered for how easy it is to apply the status effect. Just buff Deerstalker to reduce recovery and healing speed of slugs, but absolutely not to adding all of that to haemorrhage.

Great idea, +1!

Yeah it does, it makes survivors harder to kill, thus making killer harder, thus making it worse
A survivor is harder to kill because their teammates are aware of what actions each other are doing? No auras, no exact locations... how does this change anything? Still nowhere near SWF, which killers already have to face anyways.
-
This perk sucks for many reasons. Only works on the second hook state, and requires another survivor to trigger its effects. Not to mention it doesn't even tell them it's in play.
-
The only change that's needed is the protection score event also trigger for tanking hits for other healthy survivors. You are still protecting them, regardless if it means they would go down or not.

or instead you could just run kindred which is already in the game.
See my first comment above, where not even Kindred guaranteed getting unhooked before going to the struggle state. And it's happened more than once to many people, not just me.

So being forced to play specific killers or using specific tactics due to ######### basekit and balancing is considered fine?
You can play any killer or playstyle you want - as long as that playstyle isn't explicitly against the rules. The only one I can think of is infinitely bodyblocking a survivor so that the match won't end.

I played Fortnite with the wife this weekend. Sounds weird to say I had more fun than DBD lately. I will see if the event sparks something for me but until then Fortnite and Doom it is.
The disconnects and tunneling has made survivor boring asf lately.
Yep, my wife got me a Switch for the birthday recently; and I then found out I can play Fortnite without paying for online. I've mostly been chilling on the TV playing Fortnite too. Aside from dailies and events, not really playing DbD anymore. And even that is subject to change at this point. Been playing since 2016.

So making killer role bearable is off the table?
Killer role is fine. Can camp, tunnel, and slug for free - and even use perks to enhance these playstyles. Map design may be another issue, but killers be having a field day in the current state of the game - given the right map.
-
Do you have any experience with DbD mobile bots? I doubt you've seen them in action. Because I would rather have nothing than those 'things'.

Actually, if they happen to buff it closer to SWF, it will definitely get worse for killers.
Ok. Solo survivors will now have what should arguably be minimal info of what the other survivors are doing. But it still won’t provide them with SWF-levels of communication and coordination to counter things like camping, tunneling, totem-hunting, etc. etc. It won’t say what gen they’re working on, or how far along it is, etc.
I’m really at the point I don’t even want to load DbD anymore after the disgusting solo matches I played today. Sometimes teammates to blame (three early DCs in a row), but definitely some less than skillful killer play styles defended day after day here on the forums too. Kinda just ready for the game to die if the devs don’t care about its health.
-
Three solo queue matches so far today, not one where a survivor hasn't disconnected before two generators are done.
-
When DbD Mobile gives more pre-game info than the base game... yeah, something is wrong. Very unclear why we haven't gotten the pre-game perk, item, and offering info of our teammates yet.

Well that's what everyone is saying, buff solo's to the same level as SWF, then adjust accordingly for the killers
Solo will never be the exact same level as SWF, as they’ll never have voice comms. Adjustments to solo doesn’t automatically mean killer needs changes too.
-
I’m about ready to quit myself. Went to second stage yesterday against Pinhead... with Kindred equipped. Only to be tunneled to death right after.
-
Nothing. Just because solo queue survivor becomes more bearable doesn’t mean it makes the killer role any worse.
-
If that were its only effect, that would be a wasted perk slot.

It’s a good thing you’re not.
It’d really suck for DbD to be better balanced after five+ years, wouldn’t it?
-
Wish I could, but I’m not a dev.
-
Bubba is killer on training wheels and pay to win, simple as that. He somehow gets a pass because the game mechanics were drawn from his film. But apparently most people on these forums are ok with that for whatever reason.
-
Instantly dead teammate and Trickster? Yeah I’d probably give up too. But not without a fight before I get hooked.
-
I appreciate her so much that I always have the sudden urge to attempt escape or leave the match as soon as I see it’s her. 🥰

Obviously......They said its not meant for killers to get kills its meant to end the game and my response was so why not end the game?
EGC does end the game, after four minutes maximum. It doesn't guarantee extra kills, but can lead to them.
