So you’re playing against a killer you don’t like you’re allowed to DC?

People have that right anyways, just that it comes with a penalty now.

But That would be the thing. 75% self-heal for everyone.

Apologies for my earlier misunderstanding! I edited that comment.

I could get behind that nerf. But I don't think it would address the issue most killer players have with it.

  • Edit: I may have actually misunderstood. Are you only saying that survivors should only be able to heal themselves at 75% in Circle of Healing radius?

They're not reveling in it. They are trying to play the game as normal. DCing actively screws the game up for those players.

Isn't DBD Mobile handled by a completely different team?

BHVR has said that AFK is reportable (and can be punished if done too frequently) with evidence of such.

Well, being facecamped and the like shouldn't be normal. And until it is addressed (if ever), I completely understand DCs. And other things outside of facecamping.

Dunno, but you could say the same thing about streaming cheaters in the base game. Still forum topics all the time about blatant or subtle cheaters.

  • I'm still waiting to see what people's solution is to AFK players or throwers, as opposed to DCs. And don't tell me they're getting banned. There's been one player AFK every single trial on DbD mobile, loads in with one perk and is just AFK. Almost always as a survivor, but saw him/her as a killer most recently. I just gave up on the issue entirely after my second report of it to BHVR, they apparently don't care about AFK players.

I would say not wanting to ruin the game for your teammates for purely selfish reasons should be a baseline obligation, not a sign that you take the game too seriously.

Misery loves company. If the game is being absolutely ruined for one player, should any of the others get to revel in it?

Again, it's your point of view and everyone else's is being ignored. I play for THE MATCH, not the rewards.

Please, you are literally the kind of person who does not need to be playing multiplayer video games. Go play something else that you can put down whenever you want. Just because you don't understand (or refuse to acknowledge) the importance of committing to the game does not change that the importance exists.

Not to be rude, but sounds like you might need the break from DbD. If you take it that seriously. DC penalty = players go play something else while they can't play DbD, perhaps to never come back.

  • @SonicOffline said:

You can try to talk me in circles, but I hopped in the queue to play a game, and if you leave you're wasting my time. Just because YOU don't value YOUR time in the videogame doesn't mean others don't as well.

In fact I started a thread earlier talking about how I feel super awful for having to DC as killer, earlier. I actually felt terrible for the survivors who's time I wasted.

Survivors get to keep their items and add-ons, and get the 5,000 escaped survival points. I don't see the problem?

DC'ing makes for some of the funniest moments in Dead by Daylight, but it always comes at the expense of at least one unhappy person.

There is no "face it mate." If you're in my game and you DC, you've now wasted MY time. Why is your feels important but mine are ignored?

We're all wasting time. It's a video game. And if you're not playing it for fun and/or a living, then why?

  • @SonicOffline said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863719#Comment_2863719

I agree with the cheater part, I disagree with the match you're not having fun in. There's 4 other players other than "you", and they hopped in the queue all the same as "you". It's not about "you" once the match starts, when we talk about the health of individual matches.

Face it mate, there's still very busted things in Dead by Daylight. No one should be forced to play against certain 'things'. Not to mention they'll just AFK or throw the match; the result is the same, or worse.

  • I’d prefer the opposite! Can’t force players to stay in a match they’re not having fun in. Not to mention all the cheaters.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863497#Comment_2863497

Of course not, but I think many are unaware that the current matchmaking has one shot at a "fairly" matched lobby, and that when someone leaves it backfills in favor of queue times.

We're making it worse by dodging lobbies. And it is both roles not just killers, as I see many survs leaving for whatever reason too.

This is why we need the DbD mobile lobby in the base game. Finds five players, match starts in five seconds. No messing with matchmaking or dodging this or that. As well as showing load outs.

  • Yeah, idle crows really need revisiting and changing. It’s ridiculous that a survivor can meander the tiniest bit and not gather them. They should be required to do 10+ seconds of consecutive repairs every three minutes to not get idle crows.

  • Because immersed survivors can escape at the expense of skilled survivors who die. Despite escaping with 7,000 BP compared to your 18,000 after dying: they go up in MMR, you go down.

“Was it really a skilled play?”

Give Killers an option to opt out of swfs.

And before i get the this will kill swfs arguement, think why killer's dont want to verse swfs, and then think of a way to encourage killers to want to verse it.

No. No killer would queue to verse SWF if given the option not to. Just play the game.

  • Nope, how would they know? They can't stop third party software from being used.

  • @DoritoHead said:

Hey, Dbd mobile "enjoyer" here who also plays Dbd on Xbox.

I agree that some of the features it has should be implemented, but it has its flaws. Such as an RNG-dependent bloodmarket where you need to spend thousands of bloodpoints not to look for addons you want, but just to even find addons for the right killer.

Bloodpoints aren't that relevant because you don't even use them to level up your characters and you instead get character experience points from the matches you play. One match doesn't guarantee one level, and there's no way to level up characters outside of doing this. In addition, once you do level up, you're given a choice of two random perks to unlock. As you can imagine, this makes getting the perks you want a real headache.

Free tickets so that players can try out characters they don't own yet is pretty epic.

Oh, and mobile is absolutely infested with cheaters, maybe even a little more so than regular dbd.

Overall I prefer regular DBD in most cases, although it is refreshing to always win my killer matches because even rank 1 survivors are...less than good.

Other fun facts that I think some people in this thread should know:

-Mobile isn't designed for tablets, so playing on there is an absolute nightmare. You can really only use your phone if you want to be able to play decently.

-Optimization on mobile is very bad, some models of phone run without a hitch and some make the game unplayable.

-Mobile doesn't have Artist, Sadako, Deathslinger, Nemesis or Blight, which gives me the big sad.

-A lot of crashes and lag issues

-Many maps missing + Map reworks take about 6 months to do

-Resident Evil chapter will never come to mobile

-When a new chapter comes to mobile, it brings all the bugs with it

-Mobile is behind on updates so if something you really like gets nerfed I suggest playing with it on mobile if you're desperate (example: Mobile doesn't have MMR yet)

-You can't see player's ranks on the scoreboard screen

    -No charms

-Overall, I'm sure the mobile devs are trying their best and from my understanding it's a very small team.

Great points! The only thing I might ask you about is the tablet piece. I exclusively play it on an iPad. Are you saying tablet encounters greater performance issues and crashes? It's so much easier than the tiny screen and controls of a phone, can't imagine!

  • @TAG said:

I expect it to control like doodoo on account of it being a mobile game. While I'm sure those are all great QoL, controls are a dealbreaker for me.

The only control problem I actually have issue with is Oni during Demon Dash. It's just about impossible to maneuver during it. You have to basically use it like Hillbilly's chainsaw sprint. Some survivors take advantage of the limited sensitivity, but if you turn it up to 100% on killer you shouldn't have too much issue (as long as you're watching out for spinners.. they should only fool you once though).

  • @Krazzik said:

Yeah it's a shame. Statistically they're strong and with enough practise you can do consistantly well with them, but the reason they're by -far- the least played killer is just because they feel incredibly slow and clunky. I still enjoy playing them a lot but I wish they'd make them more streamlined, even if they had to nerf some other things to do it.

And yeah you can't switch if you're close to the hook, you can't switch right after a pounce, you can't switch too close to an exit gate. I understand some of these things are to prevent bodyblocking abuse buuuut you can still do some unfair things with the two of them.

Learned something new today! Wasn't even aware the option was restricted near exit gates or hatch!

I knew there was something weird going on with hooks. I just wish these restrictions were visible on screen

Yeah, a more clear notification would go a long way. You kinda just have to pay attention to when the swap/unbind button becomes available while walking away. It's also why I made a forum post asking it to not effect the Twins (and other killers) when survivors are hooked on death hook - since there's obviously no camping going to be happening in that scenario.

Another SMH moment when DbD mobile has more QoL features than the base game. It has a very clear indication on the swap/unbind Victor button when you are free to use it far enough away from a hook.

  • Yep, it’s a five second timer after any pounce with Victor - successful or not. Huge nerf they received after release. You cannot swap between Charlotte and Victor, or unbind Victor, too close to a hooked survivor; but I don’t know the number on that distance.

It’s not just in your head, they are very clunky compared to release.

As a member of the DBD community who plays only on mobile and whose exposure to the OC version comes from watching otz play and watching the background footage in YouTube lore videos, I have to agree with OP, mobile IS better. We get to play with original characters for free by spending no real or in game money by using tickets which can be earned or received in daily gifts and store any progress we made on our free trial of those characters. We can see other peoples perks and have exclusive skins. We look better than Nintendo switch. The only dowside I can think of is worse graphics and more cheaters.

There is also way less content. The Resident Evil characters won't ever be available; many maps still disabled (Coldwind) or never added; no Deathslinger, Blight, Artist, Onyro, Zarina, Felix, Jonah, or Yoichi. Not to mention the constant performance issues, and you don't level up your character if the game crashes before you make it to the scoreboard screen - which happens all the time for me.

You get what you pay for, I guess. 🤣

  • Rank means nothing in mobile, like it often did in the old system on PC and console. They prioritize fast queues. Sitting at rank 1 I get potato survivors all the time, who must’ve downloaded in the last half hour - complete with one or two yellow perks each (if they even have any perks equipped to begin with). Very fun to have teammates lasting about 10 seconds (not exaggerating here) in chase after being found in the first 30.

Thankfully the hatch and key nerfs aren’t live yet, so when I am not playing with competent friends I’ve made on mobile, I resort to hatch offering and key playstyle. People said or say it’s selfish, but when you do two or three generators solo of the three that get done.. yeah, not giving the killer a free kill on me.

Also, people don’t really dodge because of their teammates perks in mobile. The reason is that it forms full lobbies very swiftly, and you cannot back out once all five players are found. The match just starts after five seconds once the lobby is full.

It has its pros and cons, but I see no reason why we shouldn’t have the mobile pregame lobby over what we have now.

  • Ask why BHVR hasn’t implemented an accelerated slug feature yet.

Once per a gen restriction really makes no sense for either perks, but especially on a perk that is just an information perk. Tinkerer itself does not regress gens or block gens meaning the only reason to use it is for information and nerfing how much information it gives makes 0 sense.

Tinkerer isn't just an information perk though. It additionally comes with a lengthy Undetectable status effect. It's also very oppressive on highly mobile killers, or those with the ability to teleport.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2860941#Comment_2860941

It's essentially random aura revealing that is out of your control and survivor auras are the same color as gen auras. You can miss it easily whether it's because the aura blends in with the gen or that you didn't notice the aura activate since there's no notification.

The gen aura was better, because it not only lasted much longer than 10 seconds but it was much easier to notice for an effect you can't control and triggers randomly.

I see your point. I wouldn't mind the survivor reveal aura to be a different color than red. Perhaps Gearhead should be accompanied with an explosion notification as well.

Upon reviewing both versions, old Gearhead could also reveal multiple generators/survivors at once. But this one is limited to one survivor. Don't see why someone would run Gearhead over Tinkerer.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2860884#Comment_2860884

Gearhead is still bad. It got a better activation requirement for a worst effect on trigger.

How is aura revealing of survivors worse than gen auras? Unless you mean that they have to hit greats instead of goods? Also no longer limited to a 30-second duration.

  • The biggest change that gen blocking perks need is the ability for the person/team that blocked the gen to undo it at will. Sometimes it's useful to only block it for a brief time, yet you're subjected to the entire duration of the block no matter what. I would like to see both survivors and killers able to unblock generators their own perks have blocked.

I think it would also be a great buff to Repressed Alliance to allow you to unblock a generator that a killer has blocked with the charges you've built up. It would be a nice counter to the several gen blocking perks killers have to run.

  • All of Deathslinger's teachables are in a good place right now, all of them have received buffs or reworks since release too. He's a lot more viable than Clown too.

  • A little correction: 14 seconds base for cleansing and blessing, and 28 seconds for blessing a hex. Both can be modified by a few perks.

I don't think it needs a slower base speed, but wouldn't mind if they updated various perks on both sides to effect blessing speed as well.

  • Nurse OP lol.jpg

Yes, Nurse is very busted on PC, please send help. /s This match was like half an hour ago by the way, solo queue. Map was Temple of Purgation if that matters to you.

  • Late game DCs. It shows they finally have had enough and are resigned to the match. Especially when a killer does it. All those lost points, just to incur a penalty on top of it.

  • Way too OP. Why not keep its function as reducing the terror radius, but by hooking on scourge hooks instead?

  • @FrenchBagels said:

Run the Boon near an edge or main building and all you’d have to do is sit on the edge for it to work, which the chimes won’t be as easy to hear. If you’re in an SWF, you’re probably running Unbreakable. The recover speed is enough for you to pick yourself up in no time at all if the Killer decides to do literally anything else.

It’s free Unbreakable otherwise if your team doesn’t go down in front of it. The pressure from it also makes endgame far more difficult for Killer.

“Free Unbreakable” - you must preset up 14 seconds before you go down, and go down in that area... and most importantly, give the killer a reason to leave you slugged rather than pick you up immediately. You’re better off running just Unbreakable.

  • I like that it encourages going not only for the obsession, but unique survivors! However, I think these effects are too powerful - especially permanently. There’s a reason they made it so easy to lose tokens, speed boost on killer (already the faster role) becomes quickly unable to be countered.

I think they should keep the current functionality, but make it chasing anyone but the obsession. Similar to STBFL. There might need to be a longer cool down though, as you’ll be getting tokens very fast this way. But I feel that is what is holding the perk back, being able to only earn tokens on one survivor out of four.

  • Unfortunately, being the change you want to see means nothing in Dead by Daylight. But thank you for your honesty and not running NOED!

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Yeah, that’s why people will dodge lobby’s when they see someone uses those perks.. no one wants to play together with a random using that

There’s a crap ton of potatoes in mobile, even running meta perks. It’s insane. Also note that you cannot leave lobby once the five players are found.. but, you can force close, and there’s no DC penalty on mobile.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857665#Comment_2857665

So… it’s pretty much impossible to see perks like No Mither or Technician in soloq on mobile…

What do you mean? You know your teammates have it before the match even starts.

  • image.jpeg

It looks the exact same for the killer too, except it doesn’t reveal which perks the survivors have equipped or add-ons are on the survivors’ items. It replaces those with covered cards. So killers still get to see the rarity of the survivors’ items. Neither side can change anything once queued, and if all five players are found, the match starts in five seconds (which it usually puts lobbies together immediately).

Pros and cons for both sides, but 100% better than what we have in the base game.

  • image.jpeg

Even better though: why do we not have the DbD mobile lobby yet?

  • I pick old fog and old hatch system.
