  • If you dont want to read through the maths below, it's 137.51980285161 seconds.

I ######### up some numbers so the Screenshots below except the one about Thanatophobia are wrong, for the record. The words are right.

Dying Light at max 8 stack with all 4 survivors alive, leading to a 24% (8*3) action speed decrease.

Thanatophobia at max 4 stacks, leading to a 20% action speed decrease.

Freddy's Swing Chains at max 4 stacks, leading to an 8% (2*4) action speed decrease

Freddy's Jump Rope, leading to a 4% action speed decrease.

To get the total interaction speed, take the number of needed charges (80 charges) divided by the charges inputted per second (c/s).

According to this thread from Orion:

    @Orion said:

Apparently this is needed again and I'm not sifting through 1k of my own threads to find the other PSA I already opened on the subject, so here we go.

Here are the facts you need to know beforehand:

    • Interactions in DbD are measured in charges (c)
    • Interaction speeds are measured in charges per second (c/s)
    • The default interaction speed is 1 charge per second (1 c/s)
    • Debuffs of the same type that come from different sources stack multiplicatively
    • Buffs of the same type that come from different sources stack additively, but they're usually capped, depending on the type of buff

To get the total interaction speed, you divide the number of charges required by the speed at which you're interacting. Below are two examples with debuffs, both centered on generators, which require 80 c.

Example 1 - Dying Light with 3 tokens

Dying Light gives survivors a 3% speed debuff in several interactions. With 3 tokens, that's 9%.

    The interaction speed is, therefore, 1 - 0.09 = 0.91 c/s.

The time required to repair a generator becomes 80/0.91 = 88 s (approximately). As I said above, you divide the number of charges required by the speed.

Example 2 - Dying light with 6 tokens and Thanatophobia with 3 injured survivors

Dying Light is providing an 18% slowdown, while (current) Thanatophobia provides a 12% slowdown.

    The interaction speed is (1 - 0.18) x (1 - 0.12) = 0.82 x 0.88 = 0.7216 c/s.

The time required to repair a generator becomes 80/0.7216 = 111 s (approximately). Again, you divide the number of charges required by the speed.

Debuffs stack multiplicatively. This means to calculate the total debuff from all of them, we need to multiply them together. Therefore we do:

(1-0.24)*(1-0.2)*(1-0.08)*(1-0.04). This gives us a total of 0.792723456c/s.

    Screenshot_20201230_013035_com.android.calculator2.jpg

EDIT: I DID THIS ON MY PHONE THERE'S A TYPO. THIS IS THE CORRECT ANSWER:

    0.5817344

So, to figure out how long it takes, we divide 80 charges by 0.5817344 charges per second to give us a grand total of 137.51980285161 seconds.

    Screenshot_20201230_013203_com.android.calculator2.jpg

Wrong picture above due to faulty numbers.

For the record, Thanatophobia alone at max stacks is 100 seconds on a gen.

sure but you still took the extra time to do that.... and you can't multi-task you just have to be given everything that is the general attitude I see here and it's sickening.

As a fun thing here no, I actually can't multitask, and haven't been able to since I was a child. I don't mind putting in the effort because I hot the Dwightcrow but I physically couldn't do anything around the time the streamer I was watching (BoxGhost) would distribute the codes. And whilst it was worth it, in my eyes, for the Dwightcrow because it looked nice, I couldn't bring myself to do it again for a charm that looked worse.

If it was just people playing dbd on Twitch I could get behind it more. There are some streamers I've grown really attached to and I'm close friends with, so don't mind spending hours watching. Needing to find a stranger with a massive audience (specially when seeing a large amount of people in a chat sets my brain off in all the wrong directions) was not it chief.

Be happy other people could get things for free because you never know someone's circumstance. Maybe they're grieving, maybe they have schoolwork due soon, maybe they're moving, or have existing conditions making multitasking impossible, or maybe they're working 2 jobs trying to make ends meet during a global pandemic.

It's not that they don't want to put in the effort, it's that the effort is being expended in other ways. For some people that effort is just finding the will tog et out of bed and continue on another day. Calling people lazy because their priorities aren't the same as yours isn't it, chief.

  • I do, actually (I know right GoodBoyKaru isn't a toxic survivor main what- any forum veterans will probably get that joke)!

Pyramid Head is my current main, I just find him so incredibly fun and rewarding to play. I don't just zone and I do like to actually use his power in other ways (aka through the wall guesses even if i throw the game for it), because they're just so damn fin to do and rewarding to hit, but if I have to hold m2 I will.

Before that it was Freddy, both old and new, both of whom were pretty hated.

    • Landing a max range (10.5m away because yes I use double range) POTD shot through walls without it being animation locked.
    • Dead Hard working.
    • Downing that one survivor who's been just good enough to dodge me up till now.
    • Not loading into Dead Dawg Saloon.
    • Midwich Nurse
    • When someone asks me if I want Mr. X in DBD.
  • The lack of functional hit validation whenever I play survivor on less than 60 ping but as killer on more than 150 hits are even more bullshit than before.

  • I think it needs you to close the game to get it, because I already had an escape but it didn't actually register until much later. But from what I know:

    • You need to escape the trial, through the hatch or the exit gate. AFAIK a killer DC doesn't count.
    • You need to repair the equivalent of one full generator. This means 50% of one, 35% of another, and 15% of the final one will still count towards your achievement.
    • It doesn't matter if you do it on the same generator; you can do it through all 7 if you want to.

Mobility is actually the reason I got stomped that hard - to some extent at least. They kept popping gens while I was on my way go said gens but I just couldn't get there physically in time. Made me realize why high level players usually stick to Spirit/Nurse.

If I happen to face them again I sure hope I'll be playing my main. Bubba may have no mobility either but at least I can play him at 100% of hia potential unlike Pyramid Head. I'm decent as Pyramid but I'm not @GoodBoyKaru

I was stupid enough to play with no slowdown (other than Corrupt), too.

After the match I gave them a follow and also noticed they're pretty much ignoring everything including hex totems unless the hex effect really gets in their way. Other than that they're just always on gens no matter what.

They're really strong survivors. Imagine if all people played like that.

    Aww I feel honoured <3

EU'sWorstPyramidHead™️ clearly is getting around :p

  • No.

When every other game I get hit like this

    https://www.twitch.tv/karu_tc/clip/SincereRespectfulHorseVoteYea

And yes this is with most recent hit validation on (no I did not make the name of this clip) then I'm going to suicide on hook and go play something else that has functional gameplay mechanics.

If ur data is true, and it is in fact, the 3rd smallest map, than I stand corrected. I am totally wrong.

But that map certainly does not feel small as I perform best in that map. From 1 corner to the other corner seems pretty far.

The saloon and the shack being in the middle, also right next to each other, add the surrounding buildings, it's still a survivor sided map.

U still got to add the tiles from the multiple buildings if we're talking about square tiles. I mean ur pretty immune if ur on the 2nd floor as the killer needs to go inside the building, up the stairs, than go around to the exterior side. By that time, the survivor is long gone.

Run from one corner of DDS to another, then run from one corner of Mother's Dwelling to another and tell me the difference in time.

Yepp I have fully read and understand the rules. And for a fact I have not broken any! 4 year old + game and when I use lithe and completely rush vault a window, both feet hit the ground, lithe kicks in start my run and opps all of a sudden the game lags and said I was hit? Come on. I do have close to 10+ hours of edited gameplay 🤣

There's a rule against insulting other users or the dev team. You end by calling people "gnats" and tell them to they're "talking bs" which, by the way, also bypasses the profanity filter on the forums.

But yeah, no rules broken. Not at all.

  • Very very rarely and thank ######### for that, some of the most unfun bullshit with Vicor sharing huntress' hitboxes and games against them becoming a campsite or a slugfest. Or both.

Dbd will never be balanced. Dead dawg is a survivor sided map and it is not small. It's my favorite map.

And yes, abuse what u can, just do it. Close ur eyes and just do it.

    "Dead dawg [is] not small"

    image.png

    Source

Saloon in the 3rd smallest map in the game, tied with Rancid Abattoir. But sure, it's not small.

  • it's a must have? I disagree.

On stronger killers, particularly Spirit, Freddy, Billy, Nurse, and to an extent even Pyramid Head, no, it's not a must-have. It's nice to have, sure, but I can still win games without it on any of those killers minus Billy because I never play him. Ever,

On those weaker killers, sure it's really nice to have but it's still not a necessity, considering how my Wraith build consists of Mindbreaker, BBQ, Sloppy, and PGTW and I can still win games consistently (without the camping or tunneling too).

  • 1) I like the skin even if I cant see it

    2) It makes me feel good inside

    3) I can shank survivors in style.

  • If SWFs are the issue tell me why I can have 30 games of killer in a row whilst having fun but I go into one game as survivor, 4man swf or solo doesn't matter, and have such a ######### match that I close the game?

But okay, everything is the fault of the swf.

You´re using "relatively" quite loosely, then. I can´t think of any other game costing this match to get all the content, but I´m not into this kind of thing much anymore so maybe there is one.

Currently, we have content with hefty costs as well as very expensive cosmetics, that´s why ppl are upset.

For you and me it´s no big deal, we´ve been around long enough and the addition of a single DLC every couple of weeks is not too much, but for new players it must be overwhelming. Imagine trying to have a good experience as Killer as a new player, you need so many DLCs to grind through to at least get to a basic level of viability. On the Survivor side it´s better, the base Survivors have great perks.

Tbf, Sims 4. That costs so so so much more to get into and get all the content of.

Thank you for the help. One more thing, cross play/save between ps5/ps4 good?

I don't personally own a PS4/PS5 so this is just from what I've heard from other people but yes, go for it. Don't start again.

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

Isn´t the full game like 150 Euros if you are not the kind of person to grind for 2k hrs?

I understand how people are upset with the increase in monetisation, but on the other hand, we´re talking skins here. It´s not like you need them, after all.

Hence why I said relatively. If the base game+DLC that you needed to get all perks unlocked is 150€ then with the more expensive game+DLC route with cheaper (optional) skins it'd cost about 450€ to unlock everything but don't worry shirtless David is cheaper.

    I know which I prefer.

  • -No counterplay on your side. You just hope the killer messes up, there's nothing you can do.

-Her add-ons are absolutely ######### busted. Chuck on Yakuyoke+MDR or the green Duration + Movement speed add-ons, it's absurd.

-She has no real skill floor. I play spirit very very rarely. Half of my headset doesn't work. I'm normally in a call with very loud people. I still constantly 3k+hatch/4k almost every single game, with a lot of those games being 32k points and NOED or RuinDying nowhere in sight. She doesn't take skill to play as.

-Stridor on her is stupid and should be removed as soon as possible.

-There is absolutely zero reliable tell as to when she is using her power across all of her skins.

Her passive phasing is the one thing I don't mind. I think it's kinda neat.

  • Let me ask everyone here a question:

Would you rather cheap skins and an expensive base game + DLC, costing up to 3x more than they do right now, or would you rather the base game + DLC remain relatively cheap (relatively being the word here) letting you get the perks you need to and have a better game experience, with skins cost more?

I know for sure I'd rather have the perks I want for cheaper than the OPTIONAL skins I want for cheaper.

  • @Killing_Time said:

You should play Plague without Shadowborn to get into character ;)

Plague makes me throw up for a whole nother list of reasons :p

  • A reason I use shadowborn on her is because without it I throw up. With it I do not throw up and it makes it so I can have fun playing her (because obviously throwing up isn't fun). Shadowborn is also needed on Oni, Billy, and Blight for me because of the way they move, but I never play them so it doesn't really matter.

I say needed on Blight, I still can't play him with it on without throwing up lol

Welp. I got like 180 hours. Guess I'll just uninstall and be smarter in the future.

Don't buy DLC for a game that gets gifted to you.

The game got gifted to you? That basically removes any chances of you getting a refund anyway.

For the record, the EULA states that Dead By Daylight™ is a live game, and subsequently the developers can make whatever changes they see fit whenever they see fit. Things can change whenever.

Also, people have been saying that BHVR are in the process of killing their own game since the first anniversary of DBD. It's made it 4 and a half.

The thing is,why are they giving the cosmetics through codes that expire after a few days instead of just giving them to everyone at the start of the winter event like they usually did?

That would have been the better way to do it imo.

The Frosty Eyes I agree with, and they'll probably be given for free at the end, but the sweaters usually cost money so them giving them for free and then getting them paid later I'm down for.

  • The cosmetics gotten through codes for the advent calander will be coming to the store at a later date, like all of the other Christmas ugly sweaters. This is just your chance to get them for free.

All those things were only really in for the first year. Afterwords they all fizzled out in a relative pace and killer has stayed in about the same place as usual with only slight buffs while Survs get stronger every month or so

Survivors have been nerfed over and over again throughout the years what do you mean they get stronger?

And no, God Windows were in the game up to like, April this year (maybe it was March, I honestly can't remember). Maps were significantly larger (Temple I'm looking at you), pallets safer (Ormond and Yamaoka) and the game was honestly significantly harder to play well as a killer. Obviously you still could but its just easier to now.

Oh, and I've been called a survivor main more times than I can count so I want to tell you in advance I'm not and if you don't believe me then feel free to ask a bunch of people around who've seen my gameplay or ask and I'll send you Screenshots (and a twitch vod if needed) as proof.

Good base kit design is hard to turn away especially in a more competitive setting. Unpredictable killers keep this game interesting, but nothing is free or handed to them.

This isn't a Spirit thread so I won't go off on too much of a tangent but if you think Spirit's base kit is well designed I'm afraid we won't see eye-to-eye on this subject.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

    @GoodBoyKaru

    Yep even spirit

Ah yes invisible killer that moves towards you at Billy speeds, how avoidable.

I'm not saying that all complains are completely valid- trust me I've heard my fair shair of bullshit in my time, and most of the time it's because they played dumb but it's not like it's particularly easy to avoid a Spirit. If it was, she wouldn't be one of the two killers that almost everyone in tournaments flock to.

  • Spirit doesn't need skill.

I am living proof of this.

I do not have a working headset. Surround sound is enabled and functioning and yet half of my headset does not work. If anyone is to my right I cannot hear them, at all.

I only play spirit in a voice call with loud people. It takes a lot of effort to hear people. I don't use add-ons, or stridor.

I still 4k almost every single game as her, despite the fact she's the only killer I have level 50 that I never play.

She does not need skill to play. I will continue saying that until someone proves me otherwise.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

So many survivors complaining about getting caught. It's less about how the killer is designed and more about poor perception. Wouldn't it be "pixy sticks" if it was a metaphor for Crack?

Sometimes it's best to not ask questions, the answers to which you don't want to know.

  • *gay confusion*

  • There's counters, like slugging and lightborn and Franklin's. If survivors have to use iron will to get counterplay to spirit, I don't see the issue :/

Also, it takes a hell of a lot of skill from the survivors, and is one of the few things that makes survivor gameplay enjoyable still. Take that away and it's just more M1 simulator, yikes.

Also, yeah you lose a chase as a killer but that's also 1 survivor following you around not on gens. I know how much of an impact this makes because I'm usually that survivor following the killer around for stacks and saves. When I don't have a flashlight gens fly because 3 people on separate gens is so difficult for a killer. When I do have a flashlight and I'm not on gens they slow to a crawl because smart killers know they just need to never chase me and I'll still not touch a generator.

It's actually beneficial for survivors to have the ability to flashlight and pallet save because of the amount of time they waste for a chance at something.

If you're that worried just bait or face a wall or bring one of the many perks.

1 … 310 311 312 313 314 … 416
