I don't use add-ons in my matches because they make me too reliant. Frankly all i see is a bunch of add-on addicts here.
i literally play pyramid head add-on-less and just want this event for more offerings but go off

Probably a lion on my right forearm + a rose on the neck. Because they're the same ones as David.

Glad somebody actually sees it my way. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did a reverse bloodhunt so they could retain a stable bp economy.
They were mocking you bestie

But how long will the Blood Hunt last?
What is the multiplier? Usually its 2x the normal bloodpoints. We had 3x once.
Wouldn´t it be fitting to give a 5x bonus for the anniversary?!
I don't know on duration but we can assume it's a 2x multiplier. This is because it's a Blood Hunt, while all 1.5x events have been a Blood Rush and the single 3x event we've had was a Blood Feast.

The bp economy will never recover from a bloodhunt immediately after an anniversary event. The way i see it, after the bloodhunt is done its gonna be ultra-rare add-on city for weeks.
Oh no, players can use rare things in the game! That contains these rare things! What an absolutely catastrophe-
It also will encourage newer players to keep grinding, help older players with the P350 grind too, and overall will make playing the game even more rewarding.

This community doesn't need more bloodpoints, anyone who disagrees is just being greedy.
Excuse me? So a bonus for collecting Crowns in an event based around collecting crowns that the devs are doing voluntarily is bad because you personally feel like the community doesn't need more BP.
Also, just because you don't need something doesn't mean you shouldn't have it. Using that mentality, you don't need a forums account nor the ability to play this game, so complaining if you can't play the game is greedy.
If you feel like you don't want the Blood Points, I have great news for you! Don't play the game over the period of time and bam suddenly there's no Blood Hunt!
-
@CornHub said:
The cakes the community has earned over the event should be enough. IMO they should cancel the bloodhunt.
wait you don't want more bloodpoints?

Any killer ever with Tinkerer, just whenever it's on a high mobility killer it's made 30x worse. Franklin's is annoying but I can handle it. Slinger is imho worse than Spirit to face and I cannot stand it in the slightest. I don't particularly care facing a Slinger, I will go and do something else instead of dealing with a single match vs Mr. I-have-no-terror-radius-and-one-of-the-best-chase-powers-in-the-game, Mr. Hold-M1-to-beat-me-and-fall-asleep-doing-so. I cannot stand it.
Only killer worse than that is Ghostface because of some very awful memories attached to the ######### :D

The person I replied to said the reason why the devs won't touch surge is because they don't think it would be fair if someone downs themselves via deep wound bleed-out or the honing stone trapper add-on.
Which is why I brought up eruption since it says downs by any means
Correct, however Surge requires no pre-preparation while Eruption's value is based upon how much work goes into preparing the perk.

I know what the perk does, its good when you are a beginner like me with the executionner, but I think good players can play without it.
I like to consider myself as a really good PH player and I still use the perk. It's invaluable to see how survivors play when they're out of sight and you can change your plan on the fly from it

I'll just leave this here
@GoodBoyKaru said:
So a few attentive people may recognise this from a comment I made yesterday (technically it was 24 minutes into today but let's not talk semantics). A couple of people suggested I make it a real post because "That's an excellent guide, very well put together." So, here I am. I've added a few more things so it's still worth a read.
This will cover what is, in my opinion, his best build and why, as well as a few tips on playing him & a few videos.
So hey, it's me- GoodBoyKaru, your friendly neighbourhood Pyramid Head main- here to give some swift Tips and Tricks(tm) to help make you a better Pyramid Head player!
For the record, this was made during DBD Patch 4.7.2
Build
PERKS
My personal favourite and imho strongest build is this:
- Corrupt Intervention
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5A01IV8RME2M/image.png
Crucial early-game slowdown on a killer without mobility, allows him to stall the game massively because survivors know that if they get found they're doomed.
- Pop Goes The Weasel
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FHA7ZFNAKVZY/image.png
It's the second best gen regression perk in the game, Ruin is too volatile to be anywhere near reliable on him because, again, no movement speed, he needs gen perks because he cannot move around the map quick enough, 11/10. "But you don't hook pe-" WRONG. You should be getting plenty of value out of PGTW and if you're overcaging then you're taking your map pressure and throwing it out the window.
- Barbeque and Chili
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SC8THLXSY3RP/image.png
Now, you could obviously put other perks here like Infectious Fright (amazing snowball), Tinkerer (Undetectable is nice and it helps tell you where to go but again no movement speed) or Discordance (amazing info, can sometimes do nothing about it). However I say BBQ because I like the perk and also because bloodpoints.
- I'm All Ears
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V90CSL0I44NO/image.png
Hands down the best perk in the game for Pyramid Head, that's six seconds of wallhacks. I cannot stress how valuable this is with his power- that is a guaranteed free hit in 9/10 situations. To show what I mean, I've linked a timestamped video below of where IAE comes in so clutch- continues to 5:16 in the video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJs4rvkppqs&t=296s
(you can watch the whole thing if you really want I'm proud of the game).
An honourable mention here goes to Ruin/Undying over Pop/Corrupt. As I've mentioned before, Tinkerer isn't a great perk on him due to his lack of speed, but the same goes for Ruin/Undying. You don't have the map mobility to defend your totems, especially if they spawn further away, and you'll probably end up losing two perks before 2 gens go. Corrupt/Pop is just more consistent in my experience.
ADD-ONS
So, his add-ons aren't great. The best ones, by far, are range add-ons which, when combined, extend his POTD by up to 2.5m (10.5m total). These are Burning Man Painting (Rare), Wax Doll (Uncommon), and Black Strap (Common), which ass +1.5m, +1m, and +0.5m respectively.
tips
Okay so rule number one is to not break pallets. Sounds weird but, just trust me.
His power is incredibly strong in a chase- so much so that if a survivor commits to an animation they die. If you don't break pallets (with some exceptions like God pallets) you can do amazing things. Because who doesn't want more opportunities to win a chase, like, instantly? It turns incredibly safe pallets into death sentences
To show what I mean, here's another timestamped clip. Ends at 10:58
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu3X5o9GpjY&t=646s
Learn the range of the power. 8m is specific and sometimes you think you can hit things and you can't. You need to be very careful, especially when playing with range add-ons for so long, because it can and will screw with your perception.
Adapt to the survivors you're facing. A lot of players will fake taking an animation, go to the side slightly to bait your POTD or your cancel, and then commit to the animation. If you turn to the side and release, you'll catch a lot of these survivors out and get a hit. It's really satisfying to do. Alternatively some survivors will commit to the animations regardless, in which case you'll know to aim in the centre. Other survivors will just hold W and pre-drop pallets, in which case you know to leave them because you'll really struggle catching up, or do not use your power.
I cannot stress that enough. If a survivor is pre-dropping W key gaming, do not use your power. M1 killer them.
Don't overcage and don't stress about torment. If a survivor loops you, they'll get tormented. That's just kinda how it works- you stick your knife in, follow them around a loop, and release your POTD after tracking their movements.
To see what I mean we return to the first video, again timestamped. Clip ends at 1:36.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJs4rvkppqs&t=83s
See how I hug the car, turn the camera and use the power to hit him out of animation lock? Had he kept running, easy torment too.
In my opinion, only cage someone in one of four scenarios:
- You're afraid of a DS (just please don't tunnel I'm begging you)
- You're afraid of an Unbreakable (much more likely)
- You can immidiately get into another chase
- It would place you into a Pressure Point Of No Return (name pending).
What I mean by that last point is that there comes a time in a DBD game where the killer will hit a Pressure Point Of No Return, where the survivors physically cannot come back from the amount of pressure and momentum you're building. The best example of this as Pyramid Head is where you split the map through cages. You have two downed survivors. Cage one, hook the other. Nobody is on a generator, you have a BBQ proc to interrupt the person saving the cage or the hook, and now the last person must save both people. On especially large maps, like Mother's Dwelling, or multi-storied ones, like Midwich, this can force people into second stage and you've won the game at 5 gens. It's more common than you'd think.
If you cage at other times you're probably wasting pressure you could've gotten from a hook.
Learn where you can and can't lay trails. In front of totems and lockers? Amazing. In front of a gen? Not at all, it becomes a Restricted Trail Element and disappears after a few seconds. The DBD Wiki has a section on this which I'll just paste below.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2808XTGCLSHV/image.png
I'd highly, highly suggest reading the wiki page on his power as it's really useful in understanding the fundamentals and giving actual values to words. Here it is:
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Pyramid_Head
Finally, learn where you can and can't use POTD. It sounds like a simple thing but learning where you can and can't use it, however there's a lot to it. For example, learning how vertical changes affect it. Did you know if you release his power on a slope going up it'll fail, same with releasing it on a slope going down. However, if you're barely off of the slope it'll travel down it, but only if it isn't too steep.
It's nuts but knowing where you can and can't actually have an ability is, funnily enough, pretty important.
A few more quick-fire tips:
- Don't just go for animation lock shots. People expect these and adapt. Be unpredictable to catch them off guard and get easy hits. Like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U1k10I-zG4&feature=emb_logo
Bet they didn't expect that one :p
Needless to say that was where I hit a Pressure Point Of No Return and poor Jakey couldn't pick up the scraps.
- Don't spam his power. You waste too much time. Be precise, predict, and adapt to your opponents.
- Don't spam his trails. You move at 110% and you already lack a movement ability, you waste too much time.
- Tunneling isn't the best strategy. I know it seems like it because cages but again, you do not have a movement ability. Survivors can and will facefuck generators and ruin your day substantially.
- Dead Dawg Saloon and Hawkins are both maps you never press M2 on ever. Play like a default M1 killer because the map design prevents you from using your power. They're pretty much auto-loss maps, ngl, unless the survivors really badly mess up.
- Play survivor. Learn where survivors move and how they path, shoot POTD to hit them. That's what I did in that last clip.
And, yeah, that's about it. If people have any questions please let me know and I'll try to answer them as best I can, though I think this is comprehensive enough.

So you assume that the issues will all be fixed with the midchapter patch?
I can dream 😔
-
Yeah the matchmaking in this game is... Less than stellar. Wish you'd had a better reintroduction to the game but hey, literally everything is broken and buggy and really unfun right now so I don't think much could've been done
-
I tried it out on PH over Corrupt (because you can take away my I'm All Ears and BBQ over my rotten, fetid corpse) and while fun I still think Corrupt gave me a lot more value.
Chase heavy killers do better forcing survivors to come to them, area control killers need the shorter space, so the only killers I see it having maximum value on is high mobility killers, but even then on Nurse, Blight, and Spirit RuinUndying exists if you wanna be optimal.
It's a fun perk, very well designed, but it doesn't have the strength to kick out any of the meta. Except on Freddy, oh my word on Freddy its such a blast. Pun intended.
-
Cakes for 2 weeks after the midchapter so consoles and low-end PCs can enjoy the event too?! Omg great idea!!

I don't wanna sound like I'm defending DCs here because I'm not trying to, but I just find it funny how it's "I payed for this game, I'm focusing on my fun." when it comes to rushing/camping/tunneling, and yet it's "There are 4 other players in the game who want to have fun omg" whenever it comes to DCs.

That's actually something I've never thought about - is there a specific point in the gate that the trap will activate?
Yes, afaik there seems to be one spefici point where, if crossed, an active trap pops. It used to be possible to drop a survivor past this point however this was fixed, though I guess it's back. It seems to be a specific point, too, and not an area past that point.
-
Depends if you dropped them past the trigger point, which seems to change every other update
-
I saw an opportunity and took it this is now a Deathgarden chapter. This was written across my pc and my phone over like 3 different sessions so forgive me if there's any grammatical issues.
New Killer: The hunter
Available in the Deathgarden: BLOODHARVEST DLC.
The Hunter is a brutal killer, able to defend an area and incapacitate survivors. Using his perks, So Close, Speed Demon, and Predatory, he is rewarded for hooking and hitting survivors with additional prowess in a chase and further control of generators.
Speed: 4.4m/s
Terror Radius: 24m
Height: Tall
Bio:
"In the wake of the war, the world stood still. Society had reached it's peak. Defending the Enclaves- cities filled with resources that were symbols of despair for the losing side- the Hunters and Scavangers would collide. Tomás Guerra was one such hunter, dubbed The Inquisitor during his occupation, and would often bring brutal victories for their side. Anyone he considered a threat was hunted down and forced to enter the Bloodharvest, collecting the masks of anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path in the Gardens.
That was, until one day, the Gardens were empty. There were no Scavangers, nobody responding from the Collective, not even any of his fellow hunters. Only a thick, dark fog that rolled in across the frozen landscape of the Fire in the Sky, which promised more blood to hunt, more Scavangers to hunt, and no end to this bloodlust.
Welcome to the eternal game of life and death; the Hunter has entered the Arena."
Weapon: Biotechnical arm
Once the pride of Guerra and a symbol of his identity, the once-deformed arm now serves as a replacement for his guns.
Power: The Hunt
Press and hold the Power Button to activate The Hunt. While The Hunt is active:
- Hold the Active Ability Button to place down an Idle Drone at your current location. Press and hold the Active Ability Button while standing over an Idle Drone to activate it. Any Active Drones will fly into the sky and cast a cone-beam across a 40m area for 75 seconds, after which they return to the ground in an Idle State. Any survivors caught within this beam have their auras revealed. Survivors can disable Active Drones and Idle Drones by completing a short action while standing directly next to or beneath these drones.
- Hold the Active Ability Button over a chest to hack it. Any hacked chests will take 5 seconds longer to search, and upon completing a search will injure a healthy survivor.
- Press the Active Ability Button to activate Super Charge, increasing your movement speed for a short time.
Special Ability: Anti-Personnel Turret
Press and hold the Active Ability Button while The Hunt is not active to place down an Anti-Personnel Turret. These will remain hidden unless a survivor walks or runs nearby, at which point it will release a barrage of shots towards the survivor until it runs out of ammo or deactivates. Any survivor who recieves enough damage will be damaged for one health state. Crouching at any point during the barrage will deactivate the Anti-Personnel Turret. The Hunter can place up to 3 Anti-Personnel Turrets at any one time.
Power Trivia:
- It takes 4 seconds to place an Idle Drone and 2 seconds to activate it.
- Active Drones will not fly through ceilings, limiting their range if they get stuck, however will reveal through walls.
- The cone-beam is red in colour and any revealed survivor is notified through a red VFX on their screen.
- Disabling an Active Drone to an Idle Drone takes 10 seconds. Disabling, and thus destroying, an Idle Drone takes 15 seconds.
- Hacking a chest takes 3 seconds and lasts for 75 seconds.
- Super Charge increases movement speed to 5.2m/s for 10 seconds, and The Hunter retains full movement during this time. The Hunter is able to attack during this time, too.
- Once Super Charge runs out of duration, The Hunter suffers a cooldown period of 3 seconds.
- Super Charge takes 60 seconds to recharge.
- Anti-Personnel Turrets take 2 seconds to arm and 1.5 seconds to disarm. Crouching during the arming period will cause the Anti-Personnel Turret to enter the disarming period, and a survivor standing up during this time causes it to re-enter the arming period.
- Anti-Personnel Turrets can be manually disabled by survivors while disarmed while directly next to one. This action takes 13 seconds.
- Survivors go down after being shot 10 times.
- There is a 0.2s delay between shots.
- Anti-Personnel Turrets will automatically be destroyed 130 seconds after initially fully completing the arming process. Alternatively after they have shot 100 bullets.
- Anti-Personnel Turrets use a laser sight to show where they are aiming. They can be juked by survivors by moving erwtixally- they are projectiles and the AI controlling them should not be pinpoint accurate (but not to the point of being useless).
Perks:
So Close: Injuring a survivor provides a 10%/12%/14% bonus to Successful Attack and Missed Attack recovery speed. This effect lasts for 20 seconds and doesn't stack with itself.
"Everyone likes a good story, like a Scavenger getting just within reach of a Blood Bank before being downed. It's dramatic, and I've been told it's popular."
Speed Demon: Increases movement speed by 5%/5.5%/6% for 30 seconds after hooking a survivor. Stacks.
"Enhanced bearing and more powerful actuators in all your suit's joints will mean that you can sprint more quickly."
Predatory: A true hunter at heart.
After hooking a survivor, Predatory activates. Any generators damaged over the next 45/50/55 seconds are blocked by The Entity for 30 seconds.
-
They have to be healthy for this and they trade a hit for a chase. After this they'll heal up and reset a pallet, not being on a generator at this time. They'll never leave the area for this pallet either and if someone else on the team uses it normally you can break it. I don't see an issue.
-
I think so, going by my own rules of fair. I can manage it most of the time + not get absolutely 100% crushed
-
New Killer: The Photographer
The Photographer is a versatile killer, able to blind and stun survivors, and traverse the map quickly, at a detriment to their resources. Using their perks Ghostly Image, Group Photo, and Hex: Relentless Pursuit, they can confuse survivors while being deadly in a chase.
Speed: 4.6m/s
Terror Radius: 32m
Height: Medium
Bio (except just major points bc I'm lazy right now)-
- James Actus Novea
- Born to a broken household- absentee father and alcoholic mother.
- Never fit in with the children at school- bullied relentless due to difficulty learning and not being popular
- Begins verbally, moves to physically; teachers never step in to help. Alone + isolated, no good adult role models in life. Only sees corruption + malice, begins to breed resentment
- One day finds a camera, discarded single-use one but still finds out enjoys taking photos (still, like, 10? 11?).
- Comes home + takes photos of things around the house with no intention to ever get them printed but likes it all the same. Until mother crushes it beneath her heel.
- Finds a job- "anything to escape the confines of this hellhole"- + saves up money for a camera.
- Mother finds out + yeets it for more booze
- Enraged, he flies into a rage + kills her, using whatever is under the bathroom cabinet to dissolve the body. She had nobody left to come looking for her + nobody realised she'd died.
- Continues to work but can never forget the thrill of killing her. Keeps saving up for camera + when finally gets one, takes a photo of her mutilated corpse (now buried in the back garden maybe?? depends on time taken to buy camera).
- Dad comes home + James acts nice before killing him too when he's unsuspecting. Buries body and takes photo of the grave, hanging it up along with the photo of mother's grave.
- Begins a quest of un-lifing everyone who wronged James in the past inc. teachers, bullies, nasty co-workers, etc. Always takes photos of their graves.
- "When the police finally make the connection, and storm James' house, they find the photos. Twenty or Thirty line the walls and, upon further inspection, they confirm every photo marks the place of a body, except one. It's at this location where James is surrounded by a thick, black fog; tendrils stroking their face as if alive. Leaning into the touch, whispers and promises of photos and blood fill James' ears until all that's left is a camera."
Weapon: Wooden staff
Picked up from the local charity store, this staff sure packs a punch to the skull.
Power: Spectral Photography
A camera capturing spirits during life now harnasses the power of death, weaponising it against the living.
Press and hold the power button to aim the camera, slowing down in the process. Press the attack button to fire off a burst of light, consuming a small amount of spectral film to blind the survivor. Blinding the survivor while they are already blinded will instead stun the survivor, preventing them from moving for a short while.
Press the active ability button to consume some spectral film and photograph an area in front of you. Any lockers within your sight shall become Enchanted. Searching an Enchanted locker will allow The Photographer to teleport to the other Enchanted locker after a short channel, removing the Enchanted status from that locker. Any survivor within an Enchanted locker after The Photographer teleports will be immidiately grabbed.
Power Trivia:
- Slowed to 3.3m/s while aiming the camera.
- Has a pull-up + put-down time of 1 second. Cannot interact with anything else during this time.
- Only blinds/stuns survivors within the LOS of the killer, server-sided decision.
- Gradually speeds up to 4.6m/s over the 1 second put-down time.
- Begins the trial with 60 spectral film.
- Blinding/Stunning consumes 15 spectral film.
- Photographing an area consumes 20 spectral film.
- Teleporting consumes 5 spectral film
- There is a cooldown of 1.5 seconds between being able to take shots with the camera.
- A blind and a stun both last for 3 seconds.
- When a survivor is stunned, they are unable to move or interact with anything.
- A survivor can be freed from a stun if they are stunned by another survivor using the perk Head On or a pallet, or The Photographer is stunned or blinded in any way.
- Recovers 75 spectral film whenever a survivor is hooked or killed.
- Blinding a survivor will interrupt whatever action they are currently completing.
Perks:
Ghostly Image
Damaging a generator in any way will activate Ghostly Image. The next time a survivor interacts with these generators, a spectral killer will appear from around a corner and head towards the survivor at a speed of 4.6m/s. These spectral images can do no damage, although if a swing connects with a survivor they will suffer from the Incapacitated status effect for 10/12/14 seconds.
Ghostly Image has a cooldown of 40 seconds after being activated by any survivor.
Group Photo
Isn't it better when we share the pain?
Hitting a survivor with a basic attack causes all other survivors to be blinded for 5/7/9 seconds.
Group Photo has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
Hex: Relentless Pursuit
You will stop at nothing to get to your victims and right the wrongs. N̸̝̳͋̎̎̕ô̷̧̰̬̹̂̉̏̈́̚t̶̢̳̻̞̂͘͜ȟ̸̤̣̆i̶̥̔̇̏́̃́n̸̮͎͉̱͋g̸̘̒̽̚͝͠.
Your basic attack cooldown and missed attack cooldown are reduced by 20%/22%/24%. Striking a dropped pallet will cause it to break, going through a 2.4 second animation.
This effect persists while the related hex totem remains standing.
So yeah that happened
EDIT: Forgot the basic info like movement speed

Eh, Pyramid Head. Even though I use brown ones just because there's like over 200 they don't do much like ever.

I don't know, it really sounded like "those survivors just want to nerf all killers perks"
I think it mightve just been you specifically wanting to nerf all killer perks lmao

"They", excuse me what are you implying with that word?
I think warcrafter was just trying to be respectful, since they implies you don't know someone's preferred pronouns and so sticking to the gender neutral ones until you know is the most respectful way of going about it.

i have 3 reasons i play nice:
1) i play the game for fun. if i sweat and tryhard every game i will burnout so incredibly quickly.
2) if i can win the game while playing nice (aka not rushing gens/tunneling + facecamping) then imho that's the most skillful thing of all. a lot- and i mean a lot- of people have said that i'm not as good as them as killer because i dont get as many kills, but i have a lot more hooks so i call it a win (like a 6 hook 2k vs a 10 hook 2k? im taking the 10 hook one tyvm).
3) i know what it's like to be on the other end of it. "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is i think how the phrase goes? basically if i play like a scumbag but then complain about people playing like scumbags it just makes me a scumbag and a hypocrite. if i play nice, or try to, no matter what, then i may complain a lot but at least they're semi-valid.

That spirit juice with the pallet looked sooooooooooo satisfying, same with the locker save, I always hesitate at those angles.
Trust me it was, nothing makes me happier than ruining the day of a stridor spirit even if i did need cowshed to do it
And don't ever ask me to replicate the locker save because I couldn't lol

Whatever the hell this was, let's just pretend that I knew where she was the entire time.
https://clips.twitch.tv/TentativeSnappyLobsterPeteZaroll-WgO95VFRlxdVntepAlso this feature which should not have worked but it was definitely all part of our plan.
https://youtu.be/Dtq_1HPqknQAlso this happened in solo which I'm pretty proud of thanks Leon (found the flashlight in a chest too).
Please forgive the resolution on the last clip, I was testing it out to see if it actually did give me better framerate after 5.0.0.
