Jake being homosexual isn't going to change my view on him, he's still going to be the same Jake we all know and love.
Love even more after the rework BHVR made him hotter

Gay was never an actual slur and it was more of a light insult that hasn't been used wide spread outside of a few spots on the internet in years. Qu**r is used and always has been used as a slur for decades and is still incredibly offensive to a LOT of LGBT people. Myself and many friends included.
Gay hasn't been used as a slur outside of a few spots for years? Idk where you live but it's still incredibly widespread in the UK (while ironically queer hasn't been used in a derogatory manner over here for ages, to the best of my knowledge- it's definitely far less common than gay).

It wasn't a slight change she looks completely different now you literally cannot deny that. Never did they say "We are changing Kate Denson." UNTIL they had already committed to changing her. We have a right to be angry and pissed off just like you have a right to love the new rework. Cool you like it but I and many others don't in any way!

I'm not out here trying to demand a refund, because I know we're not going to get a refund, that's wasted breath/typing. But her new face is bad, and people have every right to be unhappy with it.
Cosmetics exist for their appearance only. People buy cosmetics because of how they look. So, when the way those cosmetics look are changed, then the entire reason the person bought them has been taken away. The point of this isn't to say, "We deserve a refund." The point of this is to say that cosmetics' appearances shouldn't be heavily changed. That includes faces on head cosmetics.
Just because BHVR can change something doesn't mean they should. When something exists specifically for its appearance, and people buy it specifically for that appearance, it feels like a breach of trust when that appearance is changed post-purchase.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2388086#Comment_2388086
^ This. This is what I want. I want Kate's updated face to be more similar to the original; I want it to feel like the same person. This new Kate is older and angrier and is not faithful to her original design and personality.
I'm not out here trying to demand a refund, because I know we're not going to get a refund, that's wasted breath/typing. But her new face is bad, and people have every right to be unhappy with it.
Oh you can be as unhappy as you want, I don't care, it's your opinion. Provided you recognise that other people have the right to like the change, and demanding a refund because of your opinion while ignoring the opinions of others really ain't it chief, we have no issues here.

To do with cosmetics yeah I kinda agree but again, you allow BHVR to do exactly this because you agree to their EULA while playing DBD. It's not the most saintly move but it should've been expected because of that clause.
To do with Kate herself, not entirely because some purchase her for perks and some just to have all survivors.
Just because BHVR can change something doesn't mean they should.
This one I agree to, and had they made her closer to the original I still would probably like it while allowing them to have their higher-poly models with animated, more experessive features.

You didn't answer my question lol.
Because as a consumer who bought a product which was turned into something else for literally no reason I should get some form of compensation for buying a falsely advertised product.
Yes, I funnily enough did. I answered why I commented and countered with a question to your second.
You have no reason to value my opinion, however nobody has any reason to value yours either. That's the joys of opinions.
Because as a consumer who bought a product which was turned into something else for literally no reason I should get some form of compensation for buying a falsely advertised product.
You bought the product. You recieved the product as advertised. The devs later changed the product slightly, as you gave them consent to do as you do not own this product, but simply recieve a license to utilise it, however that doesn't change the time sunk into the product pre-change and doesn't count as false advertising.
You're grasping at so many straws here you've probably saved about 3 turtles.

So if me saying Kate mains deserve compensation for our main being changed into a different character doesn't effect you
A: Why comment?
B: Why should I value your opinion?
A) Because you asked for a refund, and I gave an answer to that. Also to share my opinion- because hello, public gaming forum here- that it doesn't look bad.
B) Why should anyone value yours?

Not relevant to my points, but it doesn't.
However this doesn't change the fact you're demanding compensation for an opinion while simultaniously saying that any opinions that disagree with yours don't count. Lmao

But, you can at that point? You can view the EULA and if you don't agree you can ask your respective platform for a refund or- you know- read them online?? Where they're published???

Wheres the hypocrisy? Im not having a breakdown I'm voicing a genuine complaint and criticism. We were promised one thing, spent money on said thing, and then given something entirely different. It's like buying a PS4 controller and receiving an xbox controller if you also have an xbox. Sure it'll work on your Xbox but it's not what you ordered or were promised. I don't see why thats such a hard thing to understand and I also don't see why people being angry over her change is such a taboo thing to you.
Where's the- where's the hypocrisy??
So you don't see the hypocrisy in demanding your opinion be heard and your dislike of something compensated, while in the same breath dismissing anyone who disagrees with you? Lmfao
It's like buying a PS4 controller and receiving an xbox controller if you also have an xbox.
No, it's like buying a PS4 controller and receiving a PS4 controller. After a while this PS4 controller is upgraded to a newer model, which functions but you don't like the change, however the previous models aren't sold anymore. Is it amazing? No. Is it the end of the world and you should demand compensation from Sony? Also no.
I also don't see why people being angry over her change is such a taboo thing to you.
I'm not angry over you disliking her change. I'm "angry" over you asking for a refund and then demanding compensation over your opinion.

Im starting to think you can't read. Kate's design wont be reverted I understand that and since its not going to we deserve compensation considering she changed so much that she is practically unrecognizable. For those who like it like you then whatever you get to keep her but for those of us who hate it and got no say in it already we deserve something for compensation. And its not you recognizing a contract its you defending BHVR so hard because someone dared say something negative towards them. Once again Idc if you like it you get to keep it Im not saying to take it away from you I'm saying for those of us that are STUCK with it and were falsely advertised a product we deserve compensation.
Damn you really don't recognise the hypocrisy + entitlement in what you're saying?
You're a hopeless case.
And its not you recognizing a contract its you defending BHVR so hard because someone dared say something negative towards them
That's not what I'm doing, but okay. Sure, I do nothing but suck up to BHVR because blah blah blah. Countless posts and comments saying they did a horrible thing, made a horrible decision, were an awful company with like no transparancy? Don't exist daddy BHVR let me suck you more, clearly.

Telling me to grow up when you're just sucking up "Oh well I like the rework!" Cool not talking about you I dont care about your opinions I care about the huge amount of complaints towards Kate's rework that deserve compensation seeing as most of us wouldn't have bought or even wanted Kate if she looked how she does now. How is that hard to understand? I don't care if you in specific like it or don't I am not addressing or talking to you when I say we as ex Kate mains who hate the rework deserve compensation seeing as how our character who spent lots of money on was completely changed.
Telling me to grow up when you're just sucking up
Yes because recognising a contract = sucking up. Definitely.
that deserve compensation seeing as most of us wouldn't have bought or even wanted Kate if she looked how she does now.
You don't deserve anything. Stop thinking you're entitled to compensation because you don't like a design change and grow up.
I say we as ex Kate mains who hate the rework deserve compensation seeing as how our character who spent lots of money on was completely changed.
And so the ex Kate mains that like it, or the current Kate mains who like it, should be ignored in favour of the people who dislike it? Again darling there's some serious issues going on here; your argument has more holes than Swiss cheese in the middle of a mouse infestation.

EULA's aren't ironclad. The get challenged in court and ruled against all of the time. And recently game companies have been losing and settling lawsuits because they fail to deliver the product they advertise or keep the game in a working state. It honestly wouldn't surprise me to see this happen to BHVR as a result of all the bugs they either can't or won't fix.
Bugs I agree to, alongside optimisation issues. Virtual Goods + Currencies, not.
Character model reworks are clearly not bugs.

Bro can you stop ass kissing for one second and realize this is about more than just the refund? They changed the designs of several characters that people loved and enjoyed for pretty much no reason and despite massive complaints showed no care towards what people wanted lol. Normally I can defend BHVR and their decisions but theres no reason for the survivor model changes to be so drastic and its only fair to those who spent HOURS playing survivors (Especially since survivors are PURELY cosmetic) that we receive something in compensation even if its just shards. Anything to show at least a little bit of "Sorry we screwed you over."
Bro can you stop ass kissing for one second and realize this is about more than just the refund?
No because I both like the redesigns for all except Dwight and recognise the legal side of it. You asked if you could get a refund, I have answered that question several times.
I do not give a ######### behind the reason why you want a refund, you cannot get a refund. End of.
its only fair to those who spent HOURS playing survivors (Especially since survivors are PURELY cosmetic) that we receive something in compensation even if its just shards

You don't care about the EULA? Do you realise how stupid that sounds??
You don't care about the legally binding contract you agreed to whenever you played Dead By Daylight? Once again may I specify legally binding contract.
You should care about the EULA because BHVR has zero obligation or reason to refund you.
This isn't even taking into account the time you spent with old Kate being worth the money.

Yes as compensation for buying something that was falsely promised. I bought Kate's cosmetics because I thought I'd get to use them on Kate Denson a happy cheery young country girl. Instead Kate was murdered and her evil step mother Gertrude took her place and now I'm stuck with wasted money, shards, time, and BP :/
This is what you agreed to when you first opened Dead By Daylight. You cannot get a refund for your purchases as outlined in Section 5 of the EULA, and BHVR has the right to change whatever aspect of their product that they like without liability nor the obligation to offer a refund.
Again, read the EULA.

Yes, the PTB section for the PTB. And she has gotten changes since the PTB, which is why I now don't see the issue.

Unfortunately gay means different thing to different people. To a lot in the community, "gay" has become an umbrella term for all lgbt+, with men loving men taking up "mlm" (not multi-level marketing lol) and women loving women taking up "wlw", but to some others it's still just gay men that use the term. Not exactly, they ask for any kind of representation, regardless of if its good or not, you will straight up loss braincells talking to those people...
Basically its not wrong at all to ask for representation, but at least ask for good representation, instead of just checking boxes and making terrible boring characters.
A good example of this kind of mess was announced recently i think it was called "Q Force" and let me tell you, it was SO BAD that people straight up said stuff like "ive met homophobic people that are less offensive than this".
Im kinda new to the lore of the game, so cant say much about it, but if BHVR is doing proper representation like mentioned in that statement in the post above, then good for them for not being total idiots like many others and actually caring about the quality of the writing.
aight hold on lemme respond to this in chunks else ill forget my train of thought
that's kinda suspiciousNot exactly, they ask for any kind of representation, regardless of if its good or not, you will straight up loss braincells talking to those people...
Maybe not lose braincells- because it is genuinely understandable why some people are so deprived they will beg for literally anything at this point- but I agree that good representation will always outclass the bad kind. Hence why it's good representation.
Basically its not wrong at all to ask for representation, but at least ask for good representation, instead of just checking boxes and making terrible boring characters.
I don't think I've seen anybody asking for the bad kind yet ngl. Like, even on Twitter people want the good kind because, to quote, "I don't want a gay character, I want a character who happens to be gay." (which is where I got that saying from ty Twitter)
A good example of this kind of mess was announced recently i think it was called "Q Force" and let me tell you, it was SO BAD that people straight up said stuff like "ive met homophobic people that are less offensive than this".
Q Force made me sad to watch the trailer for. Like, for people who are flamboyant and liked it, good for them, but it was definitely not my cup of tea.
But that's something to remember- despite the stereotypes and the noise to not give a character who conforms to these stereotypes we should remember that there are people like that and they deserve just as much representation as the lgbt+ people so far in the closet they're best friends with Aslan.

Seems like it since they're partnering with a charity (GaymerX) which specialises in helping media companies provide good lgbt+ representation, as well as holding their own gaming convention + granting lgbt+ game devs opportunities either by getting job openings or acting as a publisher. Whats worse is that i often see people from companies such has Marvel or DC that act that way posting there, an example being that mess with "Im NOT Starfire"... dear god.
I wish companies would stop hiring those lunatics and focus on quality first.
Hell those people often have mental breakdowns when their garbage fails hilariously and blame everyone but themselves for it.

I may be wrong about this, but I thought I read during an AMA that the devs don't mention anything about any character's sexuality because they want the players to be able to determine it for themselves. Basically all of our headcanon and ships are possible, just not official.

That is where the majority of posts comes from (Which I should have clarified, my bad), of course there are other demographics. Such as on this forum
The majority of posts come from Twitter? Do we have exact numbers to share with the class on this- ie Instagram comments + posts, Facebook, actual forums themselves (because oh my lord this topic comes up like at least once every 2 months and we all have the exact same conversations over and over again for a week), etc. Twitter may be the easiest to see them on but I'm not convinced it contains the most.

Actual sane LGBT people care about representation but good one, which means properly written characters.

Though, good news, BHVR are partnering with an LGBT+ charity which specialise in representation and teaching game devs on the best ways of doing so

Dbd switch but you actually hit 30fps

You cannot, under the EULA you agreed to when first playing (and continuing to play) DBD all "Virtual goods" (including skins, power ups, currency, or characters) are non-refundable. This is shown under Section 5

Imagine fixing the fps issues

- The Zarina skin was in the Rift about a year ago and has now returned to the store.
- The Blight's Ultra Rare is the first skin ever released as an Ultra Rare, however "Krampus" Trapper and "Minotaur" Oni were Legendary skins since converted to Ultra Rare
- Linked sets will be the end of us all.

Most likely not

DBD's EULA ststaes that no Virtual goods (including skins, characters, power ups, currency) purchased with real money are eligible for a refund. Everyone agreed to this EULA when they first opened the game, and whenever the EULA is updated they must agree again.
So, basically, no.
