At least we agree on not liking those two if nothing else lol.

But some people do like them do.

Just had a game on midwich as I was supposed to type this first but as spirit so it wasn't bad. I dislike it on survivor for sure tho. And I dislike rpd mostly because of the freezing issues on last gen.

i wouldnt mind it (except for rpd please delete this map) once. maybe twice. but 4 midwich in a row followed by an rpd?

    end my suffering

Yeah it'll be nice to have them maps back in rotation.

I personally love Midwich though as survivor and don't mind it as killer.

i hate midwich and rpd as killer, hawkins being hit or miss depending on who im playing, and lerys is an "i dont mind" as killer but survivor i dislike all of them.

i just want to be able to see grass but the game dictates i must stay indoors :(

  • They are just, incredibly frustrating. For both sides.

As survivor? They're everywhere. You blink and suddenly you're surrounded, they never seem to get bugged, and can track you from across the entire map to forever pester you.

As killer? They spawn in, 3 seconds later they're making out with a rock.

His entire form of map pressure is RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG on top of spaghetti and it really pisses me off.

so the mystical invisible survivor that is 2m ahead of where i see them pressed space in the future and the server stored that information dooming the killer to a stun. sounds like the worse a survivors ping the more of an advantage they have.

If that's how you want to take the information then feel free to

at 12 ping? buddy i should be the one cheering for this because i am always at a disadvantage when i play survivor, sadly i also play killer and it is bs. I should never get validated with my ping because my info should always reach it first.

Is it rare that i hey a hit validation? Yes. But when i do it is usually against a console user with 60+ ping, just like aim dressing pulling me into corners and window frames mostly against console users.

wait so instead of listening to people trying to tell you what's happening, you edit your comment because people aren't listening to you being wrong?

Allow me to use an analogy to show why this isn't the case. You have to race someone to a finish line that is 100m from where you are, but the person your racing needs to move 250m. Say you can run at 1 meter each second, and someone else can run at only 0.5 meters each second. If you both leave at the same time, you will always beat them.

However, if person B begins to run (needing 500 seconds to reach the finish line) before you (who needs only 100 seconds), say 450 seconds earlier, then they will beat you.

This is what is happening. Person B, with their worse connection, is sending their information much earlier than you send yours, so it is still registered by the server.

Again, please read the post both @Angelicus23 and I have sent because it explains this perfectly.

many other games are still allowing crossprogression between all platforms, like fortnite, why not dbd?

I may be able to answer this one

So, during the whole Apple vs Epic debauche they had to show some legal contracts, and in them it was revealed that Epic pays Microsoft and Sony the equivalent of what is purchased on another device which has the progress linked to that device. For example, if I buy some VBucks on Switch, on an account linked to my PC, PS4, and Xbox, then Microsoft and Sony take profit too based upon what was sold. Perhaps the rates were too high for BHVR, or they simply didn't want to pay those rates, and so they couldn't reach an agreement.

  • @Zozzy said:

It isn't a bug. They "made the server" determine the hit and totally not the survivors client /s

TLDR survivors have cried about pallet hits (without understanding how they work) for years and bhvr finally gave them the advantage.

I like people who say this because if it was entirely survivor sided you would feel it substantially more, and yet they complain that it's survivor sided when it's perheps fairer to both sides than ever. I keep posting it but @Mercês explained why hits look dodgy, please read this post

    @Mercês said:

"Stun validation has been added to the hit validator. If a Killer has a pending stun on the server, the server will reject the hit. This will be most noticeably in situations such as a Killer who is attacking at the same time a survivor is throwing a pallet, and it should reduce instances where survivors appear to take damage after stunning a Killer."

I work in the field, so let me explain on a technical level why it looks so weird but why this change is necessary.

The most awkward situations happen when:

    -----------------------

FIRST SCENARIO. KILLER HAS A LOW PING, BUT ATTACKS ALMOST AT THE SAME TIME.

(*) The server queue look like this.

    [Survivor A] [13:32:12:14] [Pallet drop] [Location X] (*1)
    (Outcome) [Killer] [Status update] [Stun]
    [Killer] [13:32:12:18] [Hit register] [Survivor A] (*2)

I'm supposing that killer's ping is 20ms, while survivors' is 30ms.

(*) The survivor perspective look like this.

[Survivor] [13:32:11:44] [Pallet drop] [Location X]

Note that survivor (in real time) dropped the pallet at [13:32:11:44], with the 30ms delay, the server received that the Survivor dropped the pallet at [13:32:12:14] (*1).

(*) The killer queue look like this.

[Killer] [13:32:11:58] [Hit register] [Survivor A]
[Survivor] [13:32:12:48] [Pallet drop] [Location X]

Note that the killer hit the survivor at [13:32:11:28], with the 20ms delay, the server received that the killer hit the survivor at [13:32:12:18] (*2).

In the other hand, notice that the killer received that the pallet was dropped at [13:32:12:48], 50ms after the actual drop, because the server has to receive this input from the survivor (+30ms), and send to the killer(+20ms).

Notice that more extreme scenarios can happen if the killer has a higher ping than survivor but hits before the stun.

As you can see, there's no doubt that the survivor dropped the pallet early. Mathematically, this awkward situation will always happen when action_registered(survivor's clock + survivor's latency) < action_registered(killer's clock + killer's latency). As there's no doubt that the survivor dropped the pallet early than it received the attack (in real life time), It's safe to say that (*2) can be safely removed from the server's queue, since it doesn't make sense in our real life time. Unfortunately, doesn't make sense on killer's perspective.

    -----------------------

SECOND SCENARIO. KILLER HAS A HIGH PING, BUT HITS BEFORE THE PALLET DROP.

(*) The server queue look like this.

    [Survivor A] [13:32:12:14] [Pallet drop] [Location X] (*1)
    (Outcome) [Killer] [Status update] [Stun]
    [Killer] [13:32:12:18] [Hit register] [Survivor A] (*2)

I'm supposing that killer's ping is 60ms, while survivors' is 30ms.

[Killer] [13:32:11:58] [Hit register] [Survivor A]
[Survivor] [13:32:12:34] [Pallet drop] [Location X]

Note that the killer hit the survivor at [13:32:11:58], with the 60ms delay, the server received that the killer hit the survivor at [13:32:12:18] (*2).

In the other hand, notice that the killer received that the pallet was dropped at [13:32:12:34], 90ms after the actual drop, because the server has to receive this input from the survivor (+30ms), and send to the killer(+60ms).

This second scenario is the unfortunate one. But as you can see, if the killer has such a high latency, the survivor didn't had time to react the attack, or the animation, because it didn't even appeared on their screen because wasn't processed in the server yet. It's the kind of situation that the pallet is fully dropped and you suddenly get down. Makes no sense from the survivor's perspective.

    -----------------------

People comment and upvote so more people can understand a little more about this. If your hit gets negleted by the server (1) you got stunned before, in real life time (2) you need to call your provider to ask for a better connection, or blame DbD's team for a poor server location.

Yeah but that time there is 2 survivors. One for each exit gate so im gonna resume it.

-I found someone on a exit gate.

    - M1 him

And now there are 3 options:

1-Both gates are close each other and with the sprintburst of the hit he can escape with his buddy.

2-Buddy bodyblock and he can escape.

3- Both gates are in the most distant parts and with a bit of luck you can get him if the other doesnt tank a hit.

P.S: Dont forget that killer have to walk back to exit gates after closing the hatch 2 times, the first due to key,the second due to EGC started.

I would like to remember that the game is about to survive and if your teammate did that u were abandon to your doom not killer fault.

I would like to remember that the game is about to survive and if your teammate did that u were abandon to your doom not killer fault.

The game is also about killing people. Both sides should have to work to meet their objectives, and preferably not in a dickish way. Why should you closing hatch be a free extra 2 kills? If you weren't able to patrol gates, it's not the survivor's fault.

  • @UnknownKiller said:

1- Why the EGC last longer than the bleeding bar of survivors? When its the only one in the trial, gates arent opened and the hatch is closed shouldnt just be sacrificed instead of waiting?

2- Why closing the hatch when last 2 survivor in the trial start ECG? Shouldnt then at least do 1 gen to be able to open the gates?not basically a free escape ignoring all killer's effort?

    1) They are actually exactly the same time. EGC lasts for 2 minutes, but the bar is depleted at half the speed when a survivor is downed or hooked, for 4 total minutes. The survivor bleedout timer is 4 minutes total.

    2) You know you can still patrol the exit gates? Or wait for the hatch to close by itself? EGC starts whenever the hatch is closed, regardless of the method to open it.

  • I look in the mirror and find one

Why do you people think it is one of the dumbest achievements? Granted it is hard but that doesn't mean it is dumb.

It took me a long time to get it. Players kept disconnecting was the biggest issue. The hiding in lockers was inconsequential. I would just put them down and wait for someone to heal them.

When I finally did get it the match lasted around 20 minutes. I don't know if some of the survivors may have made it easier on me. I was more surprised that none of them disconnected and pretty surprised I actually got the last one considering the survivor was tea bagging me right next to the exit. I recorded the match and the last part is the best part when I grabbed the last survivor at the exit.

Because it requires you to use two iri add-ons every game, a specific set of perks that have to stay up, needs the survivors to be bad enough to give you EW3 before 4 gens go else the challenge is thrown, and is a guaranteed depip giving basically no points to both sides.

Not only is it difficult, it's frustrating and unfun for both sides and makes for very annoying gameplay, for both survivors and killers.

If you struggle to get use out of it make a friend.

I already use it in solo, and in swf. I mentioned in the thread it was my favourite perk, you really think I'll not use it?

My point is that you complained about dealing with SWF using the perk a lot, and said you didn't want to deal with that in solo. Well, great news, if that became the case the devs could then adjust the perk based on both gamemodes! Which is how we can actually balance dbd!

    Shocking, I know.

Yes. The whole point is Blast Mine AND Repressed Alliance. When the killer tries to waltz across the map to use pop they get stunned. Then you sneak up and block the gen. Is that why I get matched with those 0.1% every other game in purple ranks? Or are you trying to deny the fact that comms and coordination gives a huge unintended advantage?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2459659#Comment_2459659

Just get to purple ranks and you will never see a lobby of 4 solo survivors anymore. SoloQ survivors are a rare breed now considering how horrible the soloQ experience is.

If you think you're being matched with those 0.1% you're definitely the problem, or I'm unironically the best killer player ever, since I win the majority of my games (a win for me meaning 10 or more hooks). At rank 1, consistently, playing during the time when the SWF come out to play because they all get off of work.

When used correctly, I don't deny that comms provide a major advantage that solos do not have. This is something I have said, and will say again, and will continue to ask for changes to. The first clause of that, however, is incredibly important; the majority of SWFs do not use comms "correctly". Using them correctly includes providing a constant stream of pin-point information to each member. Talking about Olivia Rodrigo plagurising an album cover, for example, is not this.

So, again, either you aren't as good as you think you are, or I'm substantially better than I think I am (which I'm not), because these 0.1% tournament squads are rare, and called the 0.1 groups for a reason.

  • @Junylar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2459637#Comment_2459637

Because it would require separating soloQ from SWF queue, and, as I said before, the devs will never do this. Yes, it's completely unbalanced and the difference between solo survivors and SWF makes it logically impossible to balance survivor and killer roles in general. There is nothing you can do. The most you can do is to never play nice against SWF and always hard tunnel the first down, so that you can have the slightest chance to win or draw.

It's not that difficult to win vs most SWF, you don't need to hard tunnel the first down. The really good teams where you have to do so to match them are jokingly referred to as the 0.1% for a reason. They are nowhere near common, and are in fact incredibly rare.

Stop acting like friends talking to each other suddenly makes them the next Oracle.

  • We've been asking for baseline solo buffs for years now, but the devs really don't seem to care if the most recent small game change is anything to go by.

Unfortunately, I don't think adding comms in-game is the way to go about this. For a start, you've seen the endgame chats in this game; imagine them screaming that down the mic at you. I don't wanna hear every game about how someone screwed my mum, another say I'm a useless [slur of choice here], with the last person blasting bass-boosted Hardbass down their awful Xbox headset thinking they're funny.

For another, language barriers exist. I can speak English, and while not fluent I'm competent enough at German to be able to play DBD speaking in it (I've tried before and it was a bloody challenge, but I made it). But I can't speak French, or Spanish, or Polish, or Swedish, etc, and a lot of people will speak their native language even when it's clear people can't understand them.

Thirdly, some people don't have a microphone, and some people just don't want to speak. I have a friend- it's been a while since we played together, but we met in a Discord server, and it took about three weeks of playing with me speaking to her before she would willingly talk to me with her voice. The joys of anxiety. Another of my friends suffers badly from it, too, and sometimes has to leave the call because her brain tells her irrationally that the people there are going to find and hurt her. If these people have to leave a call- or mute everyone in-game- then they're no better off than right now.

Finally, it's just a lazy change which would make a significant amount of perks redundant and has a lot of holes in it.

How in this many posts do you not have everyone prestiged

    1) I get them to have every perk on, which is over triple the amount of webs to complete at level 50 than going 1-50.

    2) Post count =/= time spent in DBD. Do you know how many shitposts I can make while sat in a queue? As well as just checking them while I'm out, on the train to college, etc.

    3) I put points into characters who are already P350 all perks to keep them updated with all perks, and to get event items on them.

  • sorry @BabuDweet you were outvoted 2:1
