He feels sorry because they dominated a new Killer with Tier 1 Perks. He feels bad for that guy.
That's why you should never act out of anger, you might hurt (or in this game ruin someones experience) who didn't deserve it. Just swallow it and move on.
gonna be honest i read "just swallow and move on" and thought your comment went in a WHOLE nother direction

When I play survivor, I don't allow my teammates to 99 a door. If I see it happening, I will go finish the unlocking immediately. It is an exploit.
If it was an exploit the devs would fix it, however they've admitted that they like the feeling of 99'ing gates and don't enjoy the feeling of any proposed solutions so far with in-house testing.
-
The devs hear you loud and clear! In the next update they're removing the Endgame Collapse (EGC) due to complaints about 99'ing doors. Survivors will now open doors immidiately due to there being no timer placed on the trial and are free to hold you hostage for as long as you like!
A finger of the monkey paw closes ominously.

It's ok if you're still learning and I would totally recommend it to those with already a few dozen hours under their belt, but the more you play the more you'll realize it's not necessary. Just pay attention to where you think other survivors have been chased and scout areas while going to the next gen.
honestly it's actually been really useful in solo so far. not running into deadzones through sheer terrible luck and even worse teammates does wonders for your self-esteem and chase ability.
-
all i can really say is that i cant blame you for it and the fact you tried to apologise at least shows sympathy for the plights of the other side, too, so even if you shouldn't care because those killers didn't, the fact you do says a lot- at least to me

I don't know if this would be considered advocating for nerf or not, but any time I run it with Dead Hard (or even Lithe, in most cases....so it's probably possible with any/no Exhaustion perk), it's SUPER easy to chain tiles together into 2-3 minute chases (unless the areas are already used/dead).
I am by no means Aaryun level (or even really that good) at the game, but the consistency that I'm able to do this (and see others I get grouped with) do this, is alarming.
I'm assuming this was done to help Solos get extra tile info that they can get from comms, but this info is visual, 100% accurate, and ALWAYS on.
Thanks for the build idea lol, first game
(was a myers + someone else brought inner counterforce so no, COH got no use that game)

- How? Stuff like Ring, MDR, finger are obviously OP and probably make it harder to balance that killer.
As to the rest...I'm not seeing the issue. Why are you being fussy about formatting?
I do think that both sides have issues that aren't obvious to both sides - but I also do think that the overall thrust of the game's direction tends to favor survivors.
I interpreted point 1 as the whole "These addons are fine but woe be me bhvr hates all killer players so they'll be nerfed to Freddy level"

Except for:
- Some killer addons will need to be nerfed.
- Survivors sometimes feel like they lack agency when they get a bad teammate.
- Survivors don't get enough BP on losses.
- A lot of survivor perks are unengaging or boring.
- A lot of humorous observations.
Also: here are some more subtle dogs for you.
Point 1 I interpreted differently
Point 2 was under the survivor side
Point 3 was under the survivor side
Point 4 was under the survivor side

My point is that both sides have legitimate issues that the other side often doesn't understand.
Yeah because the not so subtle digs at survivors while killers got nothing negative said about them was really good at conveying that.

- I often feel like I personally have little control on the outcome of the game.
- I give photosensitive players headaches.
- I don't get enough BP on games where I lose.
- I control how the game plays out mechanically.
- The vast majority of my perks are boring and unengaging, even the powerful ones.
- I enjoy map offerings and further hook offerings.
- I tend to DC a lot.
- I wish I could play against a wider variety of opponents.
- I think double locker flashlight saves, pseudo-infinites and unhookable deadzones thanks to a single sabo are fair.
- It's expected to let me also win if you are winning.
- The other side often has the power to determine whether I have fun or not.
- I spend way too much on cosmetics.
- I'm not always aware of how frustrating it can feel to be on the other side.

- I wish I could use my 4th perk slot, but it's permanently dedicated to reducing the BP grind.
- Some of my addons are going to have to get nerfed.
- I routinely try to give the other side a partial win.
- I control how the game plays out narratively.
- I'm so used to being nerfed despite my character of choice being mediocre at best that I try not to enjoy myself too much.
- Most of the game's quirks, imbalances, nerfs and extant bugs cut against me.
- It feels like I'm held to an honor code that the other side isn't.
- I'm constantly paranoid about griefers, hackers and SWFs.
- I cannot hear the opening bars of the Halloween theme without shuddering IRL.
- I wish that I could play the character I enjoy and still feel like I have an equal chance of winning.
- I sometimes expect someone to pop out from behind my couch with a flashlight when I pick up a fork after dropping it.
- If I provide feedback on the game, the other side will paint it as partisan hatebaiting.
- I'm not always aware of how frustrating it can feel to be on the other side.

You're not helping.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2719652#Comment_2719652
You're not helping either.
- DH isn't a free win, but it can amount to a third health state if used correctly and if BHVR can't fix the validation issues eating powers and giving fake hits, then DH will need to be rebalanced to account for this.
- Moderately safe? That's fine, as long as there's some way to play around it. Being 100% unhookable with a single sabo or being able to completely guarantee a flashlight save? That needs fixing.
- Playing your absolute best and feeling like you lost because of your choice of killer/being sent to a specific map isn't fun.
Oh good god did this thread teach you nothing.

Wait, people complain about Lithe? O.o;;
Yes. Unironically.
Also on the unironic complaint list was No Mither, WGLF's healing buff, Soul Guard, For The People, Vigil's buff, and someone bragging about their "Victory vs a meta 4man" where there were 0 Exhaustion perks in play and only 1x BT. No DS, no UB, no anything.
People will ######### and moan at the most idiotic things. This is the case for players on all sides of the spectrum. Creating these us vs them posts helps nobody, however, and only deepens the already mile-wide gap, creating even more conflicting feedback and making balancing according to the majority vote all the more difficult.

-
because this community in particular loves to create us vs them scenarios out of thin air and then begin arguments over these makeshit scenarios spiralling everything out of control and forcing people to pick "sides" to have a valid argument (but no matter what side you pick, you picked the wrong side).

Tell me you're a killer main without telling me you're a killer main.
I'll give you a few easy examples to get started;
Lithe is overpowered.
Alchemist's Ring Blight is perfectly balanced.
Decisive Strike needs another nerf.
For real, though, can we please please please please cut it out with the us vs them, pit one side vs the other, absolute levels of bullshittery we have here every single day. Both sides have valid issues to deal with, and both sides deserve to have complaints to listen to. Pitting everyone against each other with every single ######### post is so tiring and the antithesis of the word "productive".
Please, just stop.

how do you check that
A look back at the year's top sellers, best new releases, most-played games, and more! There's the Steam article on it
Here's the relevant section
Six games made their debuts in the Platinum category this year (New World, Valheim, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, Apex Legends, Battlefield™ 2042, and Dead by Daylight), with more than a third of the entire list being comprised of first-time Top Seller appearances.
And there's it highlighted again just to make sure it's clear which bit I'm referring to.
-
oh absolutely is she broken as high hell, but that's one of the reasons i like her. yeah, in the right hands survivors do not stand a chance unless they're literal tournament squads, but at the same time i really like the thrill of facing her. it's a roulette of "will you get sally slugson who hates you all, a brand new player, or someone skilled but not too overbearing" and being chased by her is usually a fun experience.
the nurse is busted as #########, but i can't help myself from liking it.
except when they stack quad gen regression with 2x range add-ons in public games. dont like that one then
-
i did ask for another blight or something else
like if we get another anti loop no mobility killer im going to cry
-
the issue isn't the overheat, it's the way they took the problematic add-ons and then neutered everything instead of just them, and in the process added in this stupid ######### roar that nobody wanted nor asked for, and then glanced at his previously messed up animations and instead of taking the time to fix them, they broke them further.
overheat is just the out-of-date cherry perched atop the cake composed of excrament.

IW was originally meant as a stealth perk. If anything you should nerf it's use in a chase over its use out of one.

I haven't gotten a key but I like games like it and Last Year more though last year was pretty bad on the bully the killer thing and anytime they got better with it the community raged and they undid the killer buffs but i played it till the end. VHS i love the graphics and all and the gameplay looks great on both sides to me and being free I think it'll do great
I got a key and gave the account away within 2 days lmao, genuinely couldn't stand playing either side and the lack of matchmaking made it so much worse.

SWF isn’t going anywhere so you can’t complain about that. At all. Just another excuse not to balance survivors overhaul. With aura reading I realized killer isn’t difficult at all. That’s the same reason why Survivor is much easier. Imagine if Lethal was basekit. Survivor mains wouldn’t ever stop whining.
SWFs don’t need to see aura anymore than a single player does. You’re giving them more by doing that. Widening the gap as you are putting it. Solo will always lose out. I play solo so I know.
Ever since I’ve been using Plaything I’ve been catching SWFs slacking. You can see it in their movements. If they can’t get the intel of a killers whereabouts they don’t know exactly what to tell their buddies. They start guessing. If they’re all oblivious they go into the basement earlier as opposed to gen rushing. Not realizing you’re outside the building. They bump into one another like stooges. Essentially they are more prone to making more errors.
That's not how this works.
1) solos get nothing. Swf get "He hooked me back corner of Shack". Solos get nothing. Swf get "Yeah he's staying near the hook, random is coming for the save". Solos get nothing. Swf get "Gen done near main building, all pallets used there". Removing auras does nothing to nerf them and everything to nerf solos. Making the gap bigger is how we further perpetuate the balance issues, not fix them.
2) Plaything gives oblivious, not blindness. Auras are irrelevant here.

I'm assuming they're desperate at this point to change it so people shut up about it and so people don't go run off to play VHS and not play this. If so they'll get something going. Personally think they should just stop you from earning points when you do it. No points you have no reason to camp other than to just be a jerk to whomever it is because you won't progress playing that way. Proxi camp you get your points but dead ass walking around the hook yeah no points for you. Though yeah it might take them a while to do it but i'm very sure something is gonna come from it. They could buff borrowed time to work if you have it equipped and you get saved or something of the sort
Honestly a lot of people will try VHS for half a day and then stop. People call DBD a bully simulator but VHS is 30x worse- was in my experience at least- and while DBD encourages interaction, VHS heavily encourages stealth.
They're two vastly different games in terms of the actual gameplay mechanics and loops and it will have a much smaller impact on the playerbase than I think everyone hopes it will.

So your argument against it is probably never? Its happening they've changed it before and they had a talking point over it in the stream those two months ago its gonna get changed they'll come up with something or give a bandaid fix of some sort
The quote was literally "When will you see it? If history repeats itself, probably never." I should know, I wrote it.
There's never been a basekit camping counter in the live version of the game, despite several attempts at in-studio testing. It's very unlikely to happen, and definitely not anytime soon, due to the sheer risk of balancing exploitability with utility.
-
Well this post aged well didn't it?
-
Right I disagree. The Crotus Prenn reworks absolutely did not fix anything and if possible made it all worse. Main building of Disturbed Ward got stronger somehow despite no changes in overall map size, Father Campbell's Chapel went from a very balanced and universally loved map to "Oh my god what have you done to my child", and it was just a massive kerfuffle with that.
Agree with the rest though. ######### RPD :)

Whilst it feels like you're being ignored, Support is currently overrun with tickets and, if that's not enough, I don't believe they'll be answering any more until after New Year when they're back at work (since BHVR is a wonderful company which gives their employees actual wages and time off, even if it makes the final products... less than wonderful at times). Asides from lots and lots of patience, and possibly a few episodes of crying into your pillow, I don't think there's much more you can do here except for wait.
