If I've played one match against a Huntress, I hear the lullaby for a lot of matches afterwards then I'm surprised when a Wraith uncloaks behind me or something - the lullaby sticks in my head :)
Exact same thing happened with old freddy, too. Couldn't get his damn humming out of my head, and combining both Huntress and Freddy back to back was a terrible experience
I couldn't even escape anything playing as killer.

The killer can only clear one gen at a time. If blight repeatedly bounces to gens, he isn’t committing to chases and will lose the match. The only reason this works is because most survivors want to bull rush through the gen and refuse to run early/watch the surroundings. It’s easy to see.
"can only clear one gen"
Tell me one way to communicate effectively in solo to coordinate tinkerer procs, I'll wait.

Because being slugged is boring but necessary so I might as well make it more fun for me.

Yes, they do. I once had someone so angry they looked through my past steam names, went onto my Twitch, watched through hours of VODS, then followed to know when I was next live, only to start insulting me like nobody's business there and then.
It was ######### horrible at the time and I'm shocked I didn't cry on stream. ######### anyone like that in the absolute worst ways.

Solo teams can manage. I don’t care about people who are bad at the game
Because that's always the reasoning isn't it. "You're/They're just terrible", whenever something doesn't agree with what anyone personally believe.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but do we have any information of if/when this is going to be fixed? Feels like it's been completely forgotten about without any official confirmation that it's been addressed or patched.
PTB patch notes suggest a fix although we will never know for certain because more information = more people who know to stop so they don't get caught.
However, using VPNs and other Internet safety tips should still be followed wherever possible, because DDOSing/Doxxing isn't exclusive to DBD, sadly, and can be done through other online games or sites.
Just take as much caution as is reasonably possible given any circumstances you have, and if you suspect foul play contact your ISP. If someone is blackmailing you with personal info, etc, then go straight to police.

Because a merciless killer used to be a 4k (it actually used to be score 5k points in each category before it became hook-based), but then out came the emblem system. Survivor achievements never suffered this because an escape was never tied to a pip, unlike a merciless which was, so when they changed it for the emblem system killer adepts became about 30x more difficult.
And because consoles (Sony) are lovely when it comes to achievements, if you can still physically complete an achievement it cannot be changed without about 80 years of waiting time, lots of negotiations, about 3 swimming pools worth of tears.

As for the arguments for both survivors having reasonable arguments and the killer average first off its not way over 50% the most recent killer average that we got has the highest at 59% (cenobite) which by now thanks to COH is probably lowered
Things have likely gotten better, yes, but the argument that the game was leaning too much in the survivor's favour was around even when the devs released stats that stated that the average kill rate at red ranks was at a whopping 68%.
But even the current stats strongly suggest that the balance is leaning in the killer's favour, with the exception of the Trickster and Nurse. I mean, in most MOBAs, a 59% winrate would probably net you a hotfix nerf.
for the survivor arguments yes, some have reasonable complaints but how is it that those aren't really shown but ones that complain about camping and tunneling, noed (...)
You're missing part of the argument if you're referring to camping and tunnelling complaints as 'not reasonable'. When Otz showed that a killer with a blank load-out and a 30 second late start can consistently win matches, people were quick to point the finger at the fact that he was camping and tunnelling. This, in essence, is a tacit admission that these tactics are unreasonably powerful, to be able to more than make up for such a massive handicap. @Munqaxus and @KayTwoAyy ran their own experiments in regards to camping and they found it to be a very effective strategy.
The fact that you call complaints about camping and tunnelling unreasonable in light of mounting evidence that these tactics are, on average, too strong does highlight a little bit the reason why I think these forums are part of the problem.
NOED tangentially ties into that with how it interacts with camping/tunnelling, but it also highlights how stubbornly the forums refuse to take the survivor side seriously. I think it's either @Pulsar or @GoodBoyKaru who's commonly arguing against the tired old meme of 'do bones' and explaining why exactly 'doing bones' is an ineffective strategy, and yet there's still loads of people on these forums who are genuinely convinced that it's a good idea to pre-emptively do five totems to counter NOED.
and for a while lightborne
Which I think was one killer saying the last survivors they fought complained about it and then pretty much the entire forums agreeing that those survivors were stupid.
And it's not like the killer side doesn't have its own share of dumb complaints, like that time someone was getting salty over the healing speed boost on WGLF.
You mention otz saying it's more around bad game design I agree on that however, who gets more out of it?
On average, the killer. Because the killer can do this without consuming add-ons or offerings, and without having to coordinate a team. It's way harder to set up and run a bully squad than it is to plop your behind under a hook and stare down the survivor as you wait for NOED to pop. Kind of evidenced by the fact that in his three experiments, Otz only encountered one genrush squad.
Also wanted to add, for as much as you want to say killers are oppressing survivors take a little look around and you will see the exact opposite around the forums here.
That's a pretty vague handwave and I think it's not accurate at all.
The game is fubared at the moment but no matter who tries to say otherwise until something gets done it is survivor biased and even the way the devs go about their QnAs and hearing about multiple issues with this game, they usually are shown to be biased to one side especially with this new update.
Or, as I've been saying, the devs aren't survivor biased, the forums are just killer biased. Because if the average kill rate is still over 50% and killers can consistently win with a blank loadout and 30 second late start, we might be wrong about our perception of balance and the devs might have some insights we don't.
You're correct that I do that far too much for my own wellbeing.

Honestly and it's hard to adjust for I would just say make it stop when you hide in lockers too have had a couple run and hide and still could use it along with that the harder one to adjust for is hook swarming if it's an anti tunneling perk don't swarm the hook with your allies cause chances are you will get downed.
The devs themselves said they wanted to keep the aspect of locker DS to prevent the killer from slugging them, standing over their body for 60 seconds, and then rehooking, which effectively has the same effect on the enjoyment on the trial for both sides as hardcore tunneling would do, too.
(before anything else is said further, please do not being up "Oh but x isn't fun for killers" because a lot of things aren't fun on both sides for this game, and saying that you should be able to do something incredibly dull to counter the dull thing you must deal with, instead of just fixing this dull thing wherever possible without too many adverse effects, is simply counterintuitive).
Imho I think that locker DS should stay, just because it prevents that happening and you can still always chase the rescuer (or in the case described in the OP, unless the survivor also has Head On you can easily wait out the 5 or 10 seconds left of the perk before picking up).
The only thing that could use a change, though it isn't that high priority to me, is DS during the endgame. I wouldn't mind if it also deactivated upon opening the exit gates in any way, though I don't think a 100% shutdown during endgame would be nice.

So what is, forcing someone off a gen? Blight can only chase one person at a time and is still loopable.
The information it provides yes.
The whole issue of Ruin Undying Tinkerer is bringing it in public games vs solos, who have ######### all tools to deal with. So yes, the information it provides and the ability to chase people off of gens for ruin to take it is absolutely the string part of the perk, and using it yesterday for the first time in a year reminded me why it was so bullshit in the firs tplace when dealing with solo teams.

So how do you lunge at someone who is in a closet?
Oh, so in that case you go for the rescuer (if it's close to the time of the unhook) and just don't tunnel (really not difficult to do), or if it's clear they're baiting a 59 second DS not only have they don't nothing but literally wait 10 seconds and it's gone and still a non-issue.
If someone has DS active, you're prioritising your chases as killer terribly wrong. DS is fine, don't tunnel people.
-
It took 3 years for then to recode Nurse so I'm assuming it'll take another couple years to get around to recoding every killer for dedicated servers.

Yeah, grabbing people who are actively trying to get your attention just to hit you with DS and bully you is "tunneling", sure. This community would be a much healthier place if everyone played both sides, instead of thinking like a "main" and seeing everything as black and white. DS needs a nerf as it's still a "bully the killer" perk.
I literally main killer, just lunge at them or move on, next
-
I think it's a sign of an unpopular idea when people on these forums actually agree on something for once.
-
Base blight I love. Very fun killer to face and I wish we had more.
It's only when you start adding in Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, Alch Ring, Blighted Crow, and/or exploits that his counterplay vanishes into thin air, solos become screwed the second they load in, and nothing is good in the world.

Not much, if at all.

Because you still perform the dash forwards and get the i-frames, except there's something blocking your forward momentum and thus preventing you from moving. It's like if you run into a wall normally, you still try and perform movement and play the animation and the game recognises sprinting (ie. Sprint Burst triggers).

@NOEDENJOYER said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2739963#Comment_2739963
It's the principle of it though. We want fair gameplay, so a perk that isn't entirely fair needs to be changed.
DS is fair. If you're chasing the survivor that hasn't done anything you're prioritising your targets incorrectly as killer and going for the survivors not progressing the objectives. Spread the hook states and it won't be a problem; if you can down and hook two different survivors within 60 seconds they won't get very far with their DS and you'll have them back on a hook.
Furthermore, your suggestion opens DS up to a lot more abuse than currently, particularly in solo queue. Follow this scenario:
Survivor 1 is unhooked by Survivor 2, who goes down in the process- a hook trade.
Survivor 1 goes down afterwards due to Survivor 2 not having "Borrowed Time" equipped- prepared for such a tragedy, they instead equip "Decisive Strike" to ensure that farming is far less impactful on them.
The killer hooks Survivor 2. Suddenly, Survivor 1 no longer has Decisive Strike and the killer may hook them again freely.
"But that's on the teammate's bad decision" yes it is, and DS is there to help you recover from terrible decisions, or good decisions in terrible circumstances. Making your change a reality would instead further the gap between solos and SWF, which we know is as large as 15% in escape rates and is the opposite of what we want.
-
@NOEDENJOYER said:
Imagine not tunnelling a survivor, only to be stunned by their anti-tunnel perk because you played too well.
Now imagine if there was a killer equivalent to this, survivor mains would be up in arms, as clear by this thread of ''keep my second-chance perk unfair please''
If you're playing so well then a DS stun won't do anything to your momentum and you will still win incredibly easily.

Are you referring to that vague sentence about some vulnerabilities being fixed? Because they refused to elaborate or confirm/deny that that included the DDOS issue. Which, if true, is probably something they would be very happy to let the playerbase know.
And letting players know also lets the bad eggs know.

They can just not let go of the gen until they actually see Freddy. Class photo will give itself away pretty quickly.
And then if freddy actually teleports to their gen its a free hit, which he would if combing with Thrilling/BBQ/Pain Resonance
-
Workaround? Use TV/monitor settings to adjust contrast and brightness and hope it helps.
The reason for this is that consoles are stuck on certain presets for graphics settings (as are PC users but they can edit the config files), and afaik the Series X is locked on High /Ultra, where the devs essentially took the shadows option and went to town.

Nope! BHVR just quietly removed the warning and, as far as I'm aware, neither patched the game not to leak IPs nor did they even say in any capacity they were working on this issue. Either the spaghetti code is just too convulated to fix so they are hoping that by keeping quiet they can ignore it or in like 3-6 six months one of the updates will state the IP leaking security flaw has been eliminated. Which of course will turn out not to be the case the day the patch goes live and it will take another couple of weeks to actually fix the issue. VPN is still necessary to play the game I'm afraid.
Did you see the PTB patch notes or..?

How about all the nerfed killers like twins, nemesis, spirit, freddy and basically any killer who would stand a chance of winning ? Now with CoH, healing is a problem in this game, especially in high mmr, where it feels like infinite Health States.
Let's also talk about the buffed killers like Trapper, Pyramid, Nemesis also, Freddy also, Nurse's fixes, Pig, Myers, Clown, etc. We could talk about Spirit nerfs like that particularly proves your point but we could also talk about changes are made overall for game health and, even if I dont agree with them, pretending that the game is more survivor sided currently than, say, 2016/2017, hell even 2018, is beyond ludicrous.
-
Ah yes because they've obviously removed Exhaustion, reverted healing speeds, reverted gen speeds, added double pallets everywhere, added in infinites with zero counter thanks to the removal of Bloodlust, windows are now a guaranteed fast vault that never block, pallet and window vacuum, and have brought back everything else from 2017 and earlier.
Circle of Healing is really the only thing in any recent patches that truly makes the game "survivor sided" any more than it already was.

It was deserved if a survivor mistimed their pallet that badly to cause a trade. Not my fault they couldn't learn to predrop.
And yet if the survivor timed it perfectly for a trade on their end and you have 150 ping so you hit them anyway, kinda unfair. Validation means that whoever tells the server first wins.
