How would you balance it? I think it should be an ultra-rare add on that you have to build stacks up for, probably like 6 hooks or something. This is probably a bad idea but just curious what everyone has to say about it

I like the idea. It'd show those m1 jockey's what's up real quick. I approve of this idea sincerely.

No because this game is not nearly as toxic as people make it out to be, you can't tell me DbD is just as bad as a game like CoD or CS:GO

At least in old cod most of the toxicity was banter. Sure there was actual toxicity, but most of it was just for fun. People on dbd think the game is a life or death situation. I have yet to see toxicity that was just banter on this game in 2k+ hours.

I swear to god 5 of 6 games i play have a key in them. I normally play to have fun but it always ends with a key escape and key escapes are the most annoying. People the change they made makes zero difference to the gameplay you dont have to use up all your keys

Due to the influx of keys coming from chests I just tunnel and camp, and I really do not care about what the survivors say afterwards, because every single game someone finds a key. Until they fix that I will continue to be anti fun, because the survivors want to have a cheap escape also. It gets people off gens so I am content with it.

    1. Now that we have crossplay, it's rare to find a group of all PC players if you're on PC.
    2. "Nasty words"... Seriously? I know the community is soft. But holy ######### dude. Was it you who asked for the censorship? Ever heard of the "sticks and stones" moto?
    3. Those "nasty words" you hear are 99% caused by "nasty" actions that were previously inflicted on the person saying those words.
    4. Maybe if you try not to sweat every game yourself, you'll see that other people aren't either.

I play super casual. I don't care if I win or lose. I'm just saying though. I'm not soft about words. I usually laugh about it, but it could affect others. You are sounding like a survivor main, because survivors will scream at you about anything you do. Good try though. I have screenshots of a survivor actually complaining to me about giving them hatch.

  • All kill is my 2nd favorite chapter, so I ain't feeling it.

I like playing Trickster because I have bad aim and it makes me feel better that I can play a relaxing ranged killer that's easier for me.

You can afford to make mistakes with him. I have 90% bottle toss accuracy with clown, but that's different than lets say trickster. He is like the lmg gun of dbd lol. So it's not easy to have the best accuracy with him. He is casual, simple, and strong in the right hands.

You DO know that most SWF's don't just play this game to try and sweat, right? The mass majority of players are casual. Killer AND Survivor.

Yes, that's why almost every swf tells me some nasty words 99% of the time. So casual my guy.

You kinda spitting facts tho ngl people are talking about his viability like he can’t even get 1 kill. If your aim is in the top percentile like mine is, 4k-3k with hatch every game is supremely easy even against decent god squads (if I want to sweat). Make a vid and show people wrong :)

My aim isn't even as good as it use to be anymore. My hands are kind of destroyed from when I did construction, so my aim isn't even the best, but I do just fine with him. I'm working on the video right now. Should most likely be done with it tomorrow. :)

There really should be a forfeit option for both sides. Especially with the upcoming hook changes that will prevent survivor suicides.

Yes, and swf's will forfeit against any killers that can't get bullied. Killers will forfeit against swf's. It would be unhealthy for the game.

There are a lot of survivors who are as frustrated as I am when you get screwed out of a match, because the killer camped you. If the killer is within 3 meters of a hooked survivor, their luck increases 5%. Borrowed time is removed as a perk and becomes just a survivor game mechanic. Also if the killer hits the same survivor 2 times from healed to wounded within 2 minutes, the survivor gets 5% speed increase during their speed boost. Input? Im not a game dev so I just wanted to brainstorm.

Survivors don't need more 2nd chances then they got already. If you get camped oh well. You can usually counter a camper unless it's bubba. If people didn't hold m1 all game then maybe the killer wouldn't need to tunnel. It's not easy to get 12 hook games. I do it consistently, but it's not easy.

Then I don't want to sound like a cocky ass. But you aren't playing good survivors. You simply cannot go down to Trickster on most of these high wall tiles or main buildings. I've ran him for 4 gens myself, and I've been ran for 4 gens myself. And I land my hits.

It's because you aren't playing him right either. I go against 4 mans all the time good one's too. Early morning times is when I usually play, and that's when gen rush is in full meta CST. If you are getting ran for 4 gens then you are not playing killer correctly in general. If you run a trickster for 4 gens then the guy doesn't know what he is doing either. That's a fact.

Thats 1 map out of many. Have you played him on any of the farm maps or Crotus Prenn yet? He might as well not even exist. They could band aid this by making him 115 and letting him brute force pallets easier but I'd rather see a better power altogether.

I have played him on all the maps even red forest since they re enabled it yesterday multiple times, and I don't have a problem at all. Disturbed ward actually isn't even that bad on him. Main building isn't even that strong against him. If we wanna go off of stats, and say how much time I have put into him. If I'm looking at steam stats #7 global for lacerations on trickster sitting at 2.6k so I'm not a baby trickster, and have played him a lot since release. I'm not talking to talk. I'm prob the one guy that has put the most time into him on the forums. So yes I will make a video to show I'm not all talk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2113209#Comment_2113209

If you don't chase at them you lose. The majority of tiles on any outdoor map are high walls. Some maps like Suffocation pit can have 3 or 4 linked. Then theres shack and main buildings. If you don't chase at these you'll have on chases. If the survivor has even the slightest level of camera control at even an L/T wall, you are not landing more than 2 or 3 knives as Trickster.

This is why you control a 3 gen on suffocation, and don't chase in the middle. You literally never want to chase middle on any killer unless you are playing nurse or spirit. Both sides are pretty weak against trickster. Shack is the only strong tile combined on both sides. You literally never want to chase middle. If you catch them on a gen on either side you can down them before they even get to the middle. If you would like information. I will try and get suffocation pit for the games I will throw together for video today. This is exactly why I said you don't chase at those tiles. If survivors try to lean you towards though tiles. A lot of times survivors will follow you so you can chase them, because they want a chase, and that's when you catch them out of position. It's a big mindgame that's what it is.

the thing i have with huntress and DL is that i can 4k with them and not with the trickester, they just need to hit once and thats it, most of the time people will leave the loop and they have better POV because of the height helping in some tiles. The trickster i have to land 7 knifes and yeah the recoil and blindness because of his swinging arms are real

His recoil is a lot easier to control pn pc, but also they need to get rid of his side to side throws. It's just not consistent, but I guess that's why they give him so many knives also. I will try to make the video for you today bro, so you can get the idea of how to play him correctly. I think it will open a lot of people's eyes to how strong he is.

    Thanks. I would watch that.

There is a severe shortage of anyone playing Trickster, streamer or otherwise. And when they do, it's hardly instructional.

I was streaming him on twitch, but twitch kinda shut me down for a little bit, because some troll spam reported my channel after he was salty about getting destroyed, and twitch hasn't even looked at my appeal, but I was pretty instructional, but I'll be back on that whenever they actually look at my appeal or when the date is over on days. I don't mind making a video though. I'll try to make it today for you all.

  • I will try to make it today. I'll post it on this thread and open a new thread about it.

i know that we get stuck in the hit animation and they get the speed boost but when you do the first laceration on console you can chain 3 knifes more at max and then until you are able to put in the rest of the knifes you lose more time than normal chasing. His power is pretty gimmick like the more hits you get in the more you want to down using his power and in some loops you just cant. But this is my console experience

It's maybe because you are console, but on pc you can chain together health states, and rip people to shreds in a matter of seconds. I know fps is a big thing on console esp with the controller, and with his slight recoil being a problem on console. In general he is not a bad killer he is low B. You can down people with knives in any loop, but try actually not chasing at strong tiles with him. Believe me it's efficient that way. That's why with deathslinger you do not want to chase at strong tiles, because deathslinger is also hurt by strong tiles. Huntress is also hurt by strong tiles.

  • @Moxie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2113194#Comment_2113194

Do you only M1 when they are close to a loop?

My problem with Trickzy is that I cannot play around jungle gyms and high loops.

Yes, I want you to teach me because I have been having rough games and I really like this Killer.

I only m1 if they are going to vault a long wall or an l and t if I know I can't damage a health state. I prefer not to chase at those tiles though. Trickster excels in finding people out of position. I will most likely throw some games together with commentary since I can't stream it at the moment. To teach people how to play him right.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2113183#Comment_2113183

Main event won't change his complete inability to inflict damage at tiles. Any tile that isn't a low middle one like the boxes on mcmillan is an instant win for the survivor.

It's not an instant win. Mostly any high tiles hurt most range killers. That's why you don't chase at them. You can still put some work in no problem on pretty much any tile if you know how to play the tile correctly.

  • @PatchNoir said:

When people said to me "legion is weak" i always refused to belive because he could hurt people easily (it was boring mechanic but not weak, pretty strong actually), so the new killer comes out and i grind 9k shards only to see that he is weaker than the twins (they are good playing scummy but thats it).

I just feel like that the knifes take too long to down and if in clouse encounter i just could hit the surv and thats it, the laceration meter doesnt even stays up when changing health state, this kind of thing makes me wonder why not play huntress?

The speed is far too low for his letality and his hitbox (as many other 110 killers) makes him loopable in some map debris that isnt even made to be a loop, and as always he has the problem of the long range killers so he cant throw anything in these loops and hit.

Just increase speed to 115 or a little bit less 113 just to "fix" the loss of speed from the hitbox on the debris.

Plataform: ps4, (yeah its almost a decent killer when aiming using a mouse but on console we cant do this right, the same way we cant use blight super curves and oni too).

Okay let me explain this simply. M1 actually downs them slower. You can chain health states together since he has zero cooldown in between throws. Meaning you can chain them to death in a matter of seconds. M1 actually hinders you if you are close to them. You never want to m1 unless you absolutely have to. Do I really have to teach you guys how to use this man right? If it gets people to stop thinking he is weak I will...

I'm sorry for ur experience with toxicity but I don't see how it changes obvious issue with trickster gameplay and that players are actually forced to promote tunelling and camping to remotely get 1k

Weird I 12 hook almost every game with him without tunneling and camping. Strange stuff. Makes me wonder that he's actually a better killer than people say he is, and instead of putting 30 minutes into figuring him out, and saying he's trash. You know giving it a good amount of time to learn a killer you can perform just fine with him.

  • @SasukeKun said:

  • @Frontdoor6 said:

I've tried Trickster with the new buffs and i can't see much of a difference from before. Its still slow and survivors feel comfortable around it because its not intimidating enough, just like the old version of the Nurse. Slow and easy to win against.

The Devs are making a big fuss over K-pop and making it sound like this killer is a big deal, but making the face of this chapter weak as balls isn't the best way to make people feel the same. Putting blood on a singer to make it look cool isn't an excuse for lack of effort when it comes to the ability.

If anyone has any suggestions please leave a comment. And welcome Trickster, DBD's newest punching bag for survivors

And if anyone from the DBD team are reading this and don't feel the same, then by all means, tell us your part.

Maybe I'm one of the only people that understand how to use his knives right. Pre buff +72 hours in game time on him since release, and I still think he is a decent killer. I don't know man I don't have any problem 12 hooking teams every game. Not green ranks either. I usually go against decent swf's. He really is not that bad. People just haven't put the time into learning how to use him correctly in the first place. We are experiencing yet again another clown type killer where people just don't get it, and they still don't even get it with clown yet either. Do I think he is one of the worse killers in the game? Yes, but honestly I don't have a problem with him compared to wraith, trapper and whoever else. Trickster can slug an entire team quickly if they group up too close in a matter of seconds.

This is not wrong at all actually. This is 100% accurate.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I don't use a lot of different Killers, so my commentary is kind of limited in context. I find the new Game pretty, sad to go against the grain, balanced. Sure it has a RIDICULOUS number of pallets, but it is still small. It still has lots of ways to approach unseen. It has a few broken loops, but they are fortunately spread out. Overall, my performance there with Myers hasn't really changed that much. I have to sweat a bit more, but I'm still able to close the deal. Weird as it is going to sound, I prefer Gideon (the Game) over Lerys. I find I can cut people off and mind game far more effectively, pallets or not, at Gideon.

Same lery's is an absolute trainwreck beyond all proportions.

  • @Some_Dood64 said:

Genuine question, not trying to rant or anything, I'm just curious/stumped. When nearly every pallet is a god pallet and gens are spread out like they each have a plague, I don't see how it can let killers get the upper hand when chases usually stay for a good minute or three each?

Unless I'm missing some huge point, I just don't understand it. Any feedback is welcomed.

This might sound stupid, but I haven't had a lot of issues on the game map even against swf's. Most people some how gravitate to the l and t wall in the back corner most of the time, and totally forget that there is 1 million god pallets to use. Trickster is pretty god send on that map, but whenever I play my boy clown I do struggle just a little bit if people pre drop the super solid pallets.

I actually like his aesthetics and such but I gotta agree he doesn't fit that well in DBD. I'm okay with him not looking like a true killer or being scary - many killers in dbd aren't scary, but that's more like a subjective opinion.

But what I always loved about original killers was that just they always came up with something interesting or known and gave it this DBD twist. And now...there's a killer who look wise is just without any DBD twist, just a k-pop character how unique. They decided to give him a baseball bat for some reason and his unique power is trowing knives because...wait for it, he was throwing knives in his father's restaurant 🤦🏻‍♂. It's just so silly. And let's give him glowing eyes like he's a vampire from The sims 3.

Don't hate on his bats... That's the best part about him...

Idk if it’s just me noticing this but I just had a match going against the trickster on the PTB and I noticed that my lacceration meter was going up pretty quickly, like really fast. I assumed he had the melodious murder add-on (green/rare) that makes it so you don’t have to throw that many blades to injure them but they weren’t. They were just running caged heart shoes (yellow/uncommon) and trick pouch (brown/common). I know the patch notes said this was intended but it’s pretty crazy lol.

As someone who has played Trickster for at least 72+ hours on live servers so far. He wasn't ever bad, he is still a decent killer. By far the worse ranged killer though. You just have to play tiles correctly with him for him to be viable, but the problem always for me was recoil, and they mitigated that, so he is a ton more better now. I still personally think he needs to be bumped up to 115% keep his knives 8 to down or 7 to down with melodious murder and he is perfectly fine. No more changes besides that, and maybe giving a 30 second window for main event.

Freddy is super easy to counter. Just hold shift W. Pre drop pallets sometimes if needed. Time it all right, and freddy gets bullied easily. I thought for a while he was kind of op, but he really isn't once I learned counterplay to him.

I recorded all my matches today and just went back and counted. I had 9 Coldwind Farms, 4 Badhams, and 6 other matches on mostly survivor-sided maps. Almost 50% on Coldwind farms and over 20% on Badham. Seems very strange.

Not sure it's a bug, I think it's just his power causes you to either not be in chase or constantly drop out of chase losing points. So you have to basically just chase them with M1 and somehow not only get them, but get them quickly- but moving as slow as he does that's just unlikely to happen.

Edit: OP drag your mouse over the emblem next game and take a screenshot of the info it gives you, it should show you chases won/lost etc....

Not true, because huntress and deathslinger are in chase pretty much the same as trickster, and their emblems are perfectly fine. The issue is, is that his knives just don't register as actual damage.

1 … 8 9 10 11 12 … 19
