Oh yeah, I chuckle every time I load into pallet town. Managed to survive an iridescent heads huntress there earlier today, the map is so safe.

I usually murder Kate over everything else, so I understand this going back the other way for Jane. It's the Jeff that get less heat from me though

Hm. Would I be willing to pay nearly $60 to get the entirety of the game + all the DLC Killers and Survivors (not including Stranger Things) on PC so I can jump ship from PS4? Tough question...
They do these sales every month or so on steam anyway, just drop 10 on the base game, and 10 every sale on 2-3 dlc and you'll be up to date in like 4 months

I've used alert....it's not that great. By the time it goes off, the killer has quickly moved to an entirely different area of the map. I no longer use it.
That's an interesting statement. "By the time the killer becomes visible for 5 seconds, they've somehow moved to the other side of the map"
Are you saying after it wears off they just beeline to the opposite side of the map and start looking there? Are you saying you just play against nurses who omegablink across the map once they kick something? Please, elaborate
-
Oh yeah, people were also talking about the key aura reading. On that note, if you take an ultra-rare key, double down by increasing the charges by 15 with the beads, and triple down by running streetwise, you effectively get 56 seconds of use. Now, that gets cut in half with the blood amber (or whatever the name is), so you have 28 seconds.
The problem is that activating a key requires one second of you "priming" it, which doesn't reveal anything but still consumes charges. You could theorhetically get 27 seconds of aura reading, at most, if you used it all in one pass. More realistically, you'll use it for 1.5 seconds at a time, to get a quick peek of where the killer is and which direction they're moving.
Using it in this way, you're burning 2.5 seconds of key each time. If you bring an ultra-rare item and two support addons, and a perk to further empower them, you can get ten quick peeks. Is 17k bloodpoints worth of item, plus a perk, giving you an unbeatable advantage?
Lol no, it's an ok item. Not worth using it to hatch escape though, since you come down nearly 10k behind in BP.
-
You're right, something IS wrong with ranking: there's no ######### reward! I feel worse escaping a match to see a double pip than I do dying and not even looking at the results screens.
I keep getting to rank 5-6,where it's all Billy/nurse/freddy, and I actually just want them to kill me so I can depip and roll the dice again, and maybe get a fun killer

The Flayed

Clown has two good perks, at least?
-
It sucks they're making a bunch of situational, mostly weak perks just bad. Time to expand the list of useless perks, I guess...
Alert, Boil Over, Buckle Up, Calm Spirit, Dark Sense, Detectives Hunch, Hope, Left Behind, Mettle of Man, No Mither, No One Left Behind, Open-Handed, Premonition, Resilience, Saboteur, Slippery Meat, Sole Survivor, Solidarity, This is not Happening, Up the Ante, Vigil, and Wake Up.
And that's not even getting into the super niche ones that people rarely use =S
-
When you get straight-up farmed, and the killer watches as the dick that farmed you sits there teabagging on top of your downed ass, like they outplayed someone literally incapable of preventing this

Yeah but one perk isn't supposed to counter an ability of a killer. Hello? Them giving information is fine, but not if they counter an entire ability of a killer.
How is 5 seconds of aura, only after a pallet/gen kick, countering a killer? Hell, for Pig she has to stand up to kick gens iirc, so it doesn't even really circumvent her (I never play her, I could be wildly off base with this, if I am ignore this point ^^').
It's just homogenization of the stealth killers, others taking away something that made Myers unique and special
-
This is a cursed thread, asking for shirtless LF and decrying shirtless Myers (and a bunch of other stuff, but that's not as important)

There's a massive balancing problem in DBD right now, and that is gen rushing. Play any killer without Ruin, and I'll be surprised if you don't get completely annihilated by a swf completing all 5 gens in about 5 mins. Hell, even with Ruin, survivors can just battle through it, either with Stake Out, or just through being able to hit great skill checks.
The only way to prevent this right now is to run perks like Ruin (as mentioned earlier), Pop Goes the Weasel, Discordance, or Corrupt Intervention. However, this means that you'll have to use half your perk slots on generator perks, just so you have a fighting chance.
The solution? I think gens should take longer to complete, as well as maybe nerfing the perk Prove Thyself. Granted, it was completely useless before it's buff, but now it just makes gens take barely any time at all.
Prove thyself saves 4 seconds if two people are on a gen, and 7 if three are on it. It does make powering through ruin easier, so I feel you on that. I only use it to get easy objective points (1 gen = 5k+ points)

@ad19970 said:
Really not a drama. Stealth killers are supposed to be stealthy. It's as simple as that.
And information perks are supposed to give information, see how easy it is to say things like that?

@Tzeentchling9 said:
Alert will still work just fine against the majority of the top tier killers. Throw the poor low tier stealth killers a bone, for ######### sake.
The main use of the perk is to spot the stealth killers. You know where a nurse or Billy is rampaging, alert isn't for managing them. This is the main use of the perk being gutted, not sure how that's reasonable.

Lies, Wraith's knees can't bend and you know it lol

@Catbucket said:
Literally the point of it, those perks were one of the things causing stealth killers to be basically pointless.
The fact that they were tied to m1 killers is the problem, not alert/dark sense/kindred. Sure, it blocking OoO makes sense, since that's always on, but the conditional off-meta perks getting shafted just means fewer people will run them. That means more perk slots going towards adrenaline, decisive, unbreakable, etc... Which will do even more harm to the killers "benefiting" from the change
-
Yeah, if there's going to be a significant influx, don't let anyone sneak upwards past 15. New players don't need that in their life

I'd prefer a Resident Evil dlc, but I DO love Godzilla...

Honestly I'd prefer live action on it.
I mostly see it being a pain in the ass to set up the whole "slamming you down on a meathook" thing in live action, but if they can get around it easily enough I'm down

I would love a DbD series. Would be a blast to see any of the OC from here featured, even in an animated form

2 traps baseline for trapper, with a base carrying cap of 3.
We're gonna live forever back to 50% per stack.
Myers' tier 3 applies exposed only to survivors that he's stalked for 5 seconds or more (no 99ing off one person then blowing up a different survivor you hadn't seen all game).
Wraith gets bloodhound & brutal strength baseline while cloaked, and they stack with the actual perks (blood would glow like a light source, pallets/gens explode on impact lol).
"We'll make it" combined with "No one left behind".
"Slippery meat" combined with "Small game".
Nurse has 105% movement speed, 1 blink baseline, fatigue time rescaled to 1.5 seconds per blink and blink-attack.
Relentless reduces complete missed attack cool down by 50%, reduces object-impact swings by 25% (swinging and hitting a wall/pallet).
Billy chainsaw no longer puts survivors into the dying state, instead applies mangled, broken, hemorrhaged, and a 5% hindered for 60 seconds.
Prayer beads instead increases terror radius by 20 meters (since phasing has no sound prompt while inside terror radius, this allows much of the same gameplay, just with a faint warning).
Legion vault speed increased by 10%, movement speed in frenzy increased by 10%. Missed frenzy attacks instead cost 25% of frenzy duration.
Remove "Hope" duration.
Survivors receive a debuff notification while in "Whispers" area of effect (displayed in the same manner as overwhelming presence, unnerving, etc).
Fix the display error for leader, where it shows a grey healing speed bar while being healed by someone else affected by your aura, or a red bar when being healed while affected by sloppy butcher.
Rework vigil: if another survivor is under the effect of vigil for 15 seconds, remove all debuffs from them (including indefinite duration debuffs, like the exposed status effect from NOED).
That would be more than enough work for a day lol

This thread. Whooo boy, a lot of people missing the whole conversation part and just shouting their opinion into the void.
I'm surprised people are calling adrenaline a crutch perk. It's a snowball perk, a "win more" type of effect. Now, for people who don't follow, that doesn't mean it literally makes you win more because of it - a "win more" effect is something that gives you additional advantages specifically while you're already advantaged. This usually means turning a winning position into an even more dominant one, and is a common thing in card games.
This is not what a "crutch perk" would commonly do. Perks like Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, or the initial iterations on Mettle of Man were frequently labeled "crutches." These perks all had something in common: they delayed or prevented a fail-state (i.e. they prevented you from getting hooked, either by dodging a fatal blow, ignoring it, or by escaping the killer's grasp). They're all conditional, but their various conditions could come about regularly in a trial, without requiring the game state be advanced to an exact, one-time threshold.
Those perks are effectively the opposite of adrenaline: they're "comeback" perks. While the name is self-explanatory, I'll cover it anyway - comeback perks offer you a chance to come back from a losing position, delaying or entirely preventing what would have otherwise been a fail-state. This is a significant difference from a "win-more" perk, and why they're much more powerful in practice.
Now, after looking at these two different categories of perks, it should be obvious which category No One Escapes Death falls into. It does nothing for you in the scenarios where you find yourself in a powerful winning position, so it isn't a "win-more" perk. It does, however, possess the ability to turn a catastrophic game around. It can save what would otherwise be a 0-sacrifice trial, since just the knowledge that it's in effect can force otherwise altruistic survivors to leave their friends behind. It's obviously a "comeback" perk, or, and as this community has so lovingly decided to call them, a crutch perk.
Have fun in the fog

Why would you want to punish AFK players? The crows find them for you and you get to do what you want to them
That's an incredibly narrow point of view on the topic. From the perspective of the three people who would have been working together with them, you're starting the game down a player with the workload to escape unchanged. Your odds of escape with three people instead of four drop by roughly 80%
Also, this isn't a subforum where you ask devs questions about future content or design changes.
-
@Impala said:
Without contents? They've relased 2 patch notes very recently, Jesus, some of you are really desperate for game changing contents every month and if I'm not mistaking, we had a pretty major patch with the Freddy and Springwood rework less than a Month ago. We'll have Dedicated servers by the end of August and thry said by the end of the month, they will reduce grinding. So, pretty much in store for us as of now, plus, in the first weeks of September we should expect Chapter 13. Be a little more patient, other triple AAA games don't even get the amount of content we get in a full year.
Iirc summer technically runs until roughly September 20th, so dedicated servers could be nearly three weeks after august ends. I also recall someone specifically pointing this out on a forum post made by the devs/community team, so expect it mid-september to be safe
-
I see several ash every time I play. I'm playing at rank 5-7 surv, though, so it might be that you're playing in the serious pool.
I'm at killer 12 right now, since the wait times have been pretty rough recently, but I see him a lot there as well
-
I only drift around general discussion, since it gets the angry people from both halves of the game in a more equal balance lol
-
Man, it sounds like 90% of players didn't understand what exposed meant their first time seeing it, and some are still struggling. If only we could do something about it... If only there were an intern with a slow afternoon, who would have 90 minutes or so to go over all the different text in perks, addons, and powers to swap words around

I mean on the stuff you pointed out is gameplay needed for him to be functional in this game what's your point? The other is a cosmetic that is prettymuch making him a barbie doll and that imo is not okay to do to arguably the horror icon king...
Bah, Myers is a joke compared to Jason. I'm still annoyed about that F13 game, keeping Jason out of the clubhouse.
-
There's a server on fire somewhere because it knows these comments are being stored in it, and that's too great a burden to live with.
Also, otz did a monstrous shrine build the other day and, follow me here, monstrous shrine's 15% reduced chance to Kobe is applied to the 4%, rather than being a static reduction. It lowers the Kobe% to 3.4 - a WHOPPING 0.6% reduction
-
They're gutting the whole ranking system and making a new one, so there's no real plan to bandaid this oozing pile. While that might not be what you want to hear now, know that the problem IS going to be solved, just not as fast as any of us would like

I was on hook one time and saw my team mate camping the hatch. She had zero intention of saving me even though it was my first hook. Let me go into struggle and everything. The killer noticed this and started searching the map for the hatch and found her camping it and killed her. It was very satisfying to watch. Worst part is we only had one gen left but she just camped hatch. I was almost tempted to stop struggling and let her have hatch but, the fact that she didn't even attempt a rescue the entire match...
If you abandon me on first hook, you better believe I'm going for max struggle time while the killer goes a'huntin

This, for real. I run "we'll make it" a lot and this regularly causes people to take off since they think I'm not healing them out of choice lol

What is the meaning of p2w?
In some multiplayer free-to-play games, players who are willing to pay for special items or downloadable content may be able to gain a significant advantage over those playing for free. Critics of such games call them "pay-to-win" (p2w) games
last I checked this isn’t free
A game that's regularly $10 has DLC? Madness! Let alone that most of the dlc is like 3-4 dollars when one of their bi-monthly sales drop, how ruinous
-
Top 5 killers (nurse, Billy, spirit, hag, huntress) are original content, 3 of them come with the base pc game (4 come with base console). That means the 5 best options for ranking up and winning games are all obtainable without spending a single red cent beyond the game's base cost. Don't forget that every 2-3 months the game and all the dlc go on sale for half off, as well.
And if that weren't enough, both perks you seem to want are also attached to OC killers, one of which is in top 5 naturally AND bundled into the base console game, so you only need to drop shards on them.
-
Imagine calling bHVR worse than EA for monetization O.O
Most games have no option for their DLC but to pay, and yet good guy devs have not only the shrine of secrets, but every non-licensed character can be purchased with in-game currency. Truly, a scourge on the gaming landscape
-
Yeah, I also don't care about the points a survivor loses when they DC, I'm about blood point gains! If someone else gets to yeet their laptop from the third story to deny me points, that's some bs
-
I'd like that change on leatherface. Billy has more than enough going for him, but we're still trying to figure out how to shore up the sinking tugboat that is bubba right now lol

Personally I fuggin' die, because I'm not good enough to carry a useless sack of shite around on top of regular gameplay.

Watched the most recent otz video today (the four metaperks of the apocalypse), and man they didn't even bring instaheals or flashlights and it's just not even feasible for one of the top killers in the game if they don't snowball HARD early on
