Sloppy Butcher and Thanataphobia because it's extremely easy to land the first hit on a survivor. They either take the massive amount of time to heal against you or they stay injured for the whole game. Sort of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.
-
My hope is that we'll have more entries in the genre by the time DBD ends.
If it was cancelled right now? I'd finally get around to the stack of games I've been putting off because I play DBD so much haha.
-
I've definitely experienced worse performance on PC since the most recent update, even on medium/low settings.

just a small nerf can fix this issue. make it so it doesn't work if the killer is in a chase.
if it happened. the OoO guy won't be able to tell his friends about the killer's mindgames. and won't be a huge counter to freddy (considering add-ons and perks doesn't count as counters)
That change still wouldn't solve the problem for Trapper and Hag, as they're most vulnerable when setting up outside of a chase.
-
That's some serious dedication! Congratulations. How many hours did it take you to do this? And what will you do now, go back to playing normally?
On a side note, I'll probably never 100% DBD because many of the achievements require you to intentionally play sub-optimally, like you pointed out. Hats off to you for going through the struggle!

I don't agree with that.
For one, most dailies can be done through normal play. Nothing like intentionally disturbing crows which requires both killer or survivor to be playing sub-optimally I think the most out-of-the-way thing is the sabo-ing daily which requires just equipping a toolbox and sabo-ing hooks. And the only reason that's out-of-the-way is because saboing just purely sucks.
Secondly, you can always just reroll if you don't like them. And you can keep three of them.
Thirdly, the "hardest" ones, the mori dailies, well, usually when I mori someone, the match becomes easier. So I wouldn't exactly call that a challenge.
Fourth, their BP if you don't like the daily and get a bad reroll is negligible anyway. Most of the dailies give you as much or less BP than you'd get from a normal match. They save you maybe 10 minutes (or less) of grinding.
Fifth and finally -- archive challenges can save you over an hour worth of rift progress for each challenge, and reaching the end of the tome gives much more than that, plus a special cosmetic. That gives them much more incentive to do them than just a mere daily. Lore too, if you're into that kind of thing.
Tome levels can be completed by only playing Killer or Survivor, so you're not missing out on the bonuses for finishing the level technically. I see it as a bonus for those of us that play both roles.
My point about the Daily comparison was that they can be for either role. These missions encourage players to play both sides; therefore, they have something in common.

Yes, many of her add-ons are more of a hindrance than a help.
Which is funny because I can deal with the base kit nerf, but then they give us add-ons like, "Hey! Would you like to nerf yourself even more?" The ones that turn Nurse into an M1 killer are especially hilarious.
There were many complaints about the Nurse change, but it seems all of it was ignored.

Maybe. But only for the item dropped from the perk. Not items dropped manually or items sitting in chests.
Agreed, as long as it only applies to items dropped by Franklin's, this would be a pretty neat buff.
-
I'm all for Legion buffs, but mending is just too boring to make it any longer than it is currently.
I think if they'd rework the addons, increase Feral Frenzy speed, and reduce the stun duration, Legion would be in a good spot. But eventually something needs to be changed about mending and/or Deep Wounds.
-
DBD is in desperate need of alternative objectives. I think most will agree the standard gameplay is stale. In fact, a large amount of posts here on the forums are about adding additional objectives or alternative game modes.
At this point, I'm begging for anything that will shake things up. And the Halloween event is a disappointment in that regard.
-
Just like Daily Rituals, the Archives' missions are designed to encourage you to play in a different way for a small bonus. I think most of the community would agree that everyone should be playing both sides anyway, and it's clear the devs are trying to encourage that.
That being said, you can complete the Rift without finishing The Archives, even if it takes longer. That's the cost of not being willing to play the opposite role.
-
I love it! Now if only the balance team would fix Legion so I'd have a reason to buy the skin..
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
I'm so glad you can still do the mission if someone DCs. Would've taken forever otherwise.
-
How often do you see Premonition? Basically never.
Spine Chill is gaining in popularity, but there's still a dozen other perks that are more common.
Besides, you should be happy you don't need to run Monitor & Abuse anymore to have a 0 meter Terror Radius.
-
Legion has 4 decent add-ons: Iri Button, Cold Dirt, Stolen Sketchbook, and Filthy Blade (kinda).
Anything outside of that isn't worth it. I'd like to see every add-on but those 4 buffed or reworked.
-
I'd like to see several changes reverted from the rework:
- I don't see why Legion cannot see blood or scratch marks in Frenzy, as they can't down with it anymore.
- Please make Frenzy faster... They nerfed the speed and removed the speed add-ons. You can easily be looped for the entire duration of Frenzy.
- Reduce the stun duration!!! I hate getting stunned for 4 seconds just for using my power. This is a big reason why Legion is not fun to play currently.
Aside from that, buff their add-ons for **** sake. 80% of them are useless, and the only good ones have number values so low it hardly makes a difference.
-
I wouldn't call it the best perk in the game, but it's funny how the veterans will trash talk it endlessly. I suspect they haven't used it enough to fully understand its benefits.
As of patch 3.3.0, even Tier 1 Myers will not be able to avoid Spine Chill detection, so it is useful against every killer.
Also, patch 3.3.0 will be nerfing Object of Obsession, making Spine Chill the best killer detection perk in the game, in my opinion.
Spine Chill will always be underrated, and those who don't think so will never be convinced otherwise because they cannot be bothered to play without their meta perks.
-
25% sounds about right, if not more.
Some see a killer they hate and DC.
Some DC on their first down.
Some DC when they see a Mori offering.
Some get an error and the game itself forces them to DC.
Solo survivor is a miserable experience right now, let me tell you!
-
I'm pretty sure dailies are designed to encourage you to play the opposite role, so you'll get more Killer dailies if you play Survivor a lot. It's bonus BP for players who step out of their comfort zone.
No one is forcing you to do them. It's not like you're penalized for not completing a daily. And BP is scarce enough as it is, so removing Rituals is a terrible idea.
(I have experienced the bug you mentioned, though).

I can do it, but too lazy. I'm not a try hard. And typing all that out is too much effort.
BHVR should do the smart thing and have survivors see each other's loadouts at the start of the match.
It's crazy how BHVR hasn't realized this quick and easy fix to help bridge Solo and SWF power.
To play Devil's Advocate, survivors would abuse this information and dodge lobbies because they don't like the build their teammates are running.
"Why aren't you guys running DS/BT/Adrenaline???" *Leaves lobby*
"Ew, a Self Care/Urban Evasion/No Mither user? N00b!" *Leaves lobby*
It's a great idea on paper, especially because I'm a solo survivor myself, but I can assure you more than a few people would behave this way.
-
I just want a place to reliably proc Balanced Landing on Shelter Woods. I know you can use the big tree, but I don't think that's intended. Add a hill or something.
Oh, and maybe shrink the map somewhat. If you're playing a killer with no mobility, that map is painful. The gens are just so spread out, and there are huge lines of sight so the survivors always see you coming.
-
Does no one else see NOED as an alternative to Ruin? Instead of slowing the gens in the beginning, you punish the gen rush in the end.
-
Seriously, the only add-ons I use are the ones that affect the leap. They need to buff his add-ons or buff the portals. Demo will remain a mid-tier killer until they do.
-
I never prestiged a character because it already takes like 2000 hours to get every perk on all of them. I don't want it to take longer!
If there's a character or 2 you really want the bloody cosmetic for, I'd say go for it. But prestige feels outdated now that so many cosmetics have been released.
The bloodweb bonus hasn't been proven, I don't think. Lots of people say it makes no difference.
-
I rate Freddy at #5 in my tier list as well.
I wish they'd rework some of his add-ons though. A lot of them are trash.
-
If it means I won't accidentally hit the hooked person instead of the person unhooking, then I'm all for it.
Yeah, it's kinda fun smacking hooked survivors, but in the end this is a positive change for killers.
-
Clown is the weakest killer imo. The ones you listed at least have some form of tracking, mobility, or insta-down potential. Clown has none of those, and his power is lackluster even in chases where it is supposed to shine.
-
Clown has no mobility, so generally you want to create as much distance between you and him as possible. Don't wait until he's close to start running.
Once he's close and you're at a loop, his power is designed to reduce the amount of loops you can do before you have to drop the pallet. You need to recognize when you can make another loop against his gas, and when you need to drop the pallet early. Clown can't do anything against pallets (which is why Brutal Strength is a common pick on him).
That's pretty much it. His power is straight-forward, and he has to M1 normally to hurt you.
-
I actually like this idea quite a bit because it rewards patience with your hatchets.
It entirely hinges on how much longer the wind-up time would be, though. Too short, and it would end up being a buff. Maybe make it reduce hatchet capacity by 2 as well?
-
I've played a few dozen matches as killer and survivor and have gotten stable 60-120 ping without any obscene hit-box problems seen in previous PTB tests. My games have been smoother than ever, with the exception of some survivors randomly disconnecting a few seconds into the match (Unsure if this is a bug or they're de-ranking).
Also, queue times have been faster on average with lobbies being already filled when they open. However, I did experience loading into a lobby as survivor without a killer being present. I'm pretty sure that should not be possible, and I ended up waiting 5 minutes before assuming it was a bugged lobby.
Overall positive experience for me!
-
I can tell you love to slow the game down OP. This build is okay, but sorely lacks tracking ability. I would recommend you sacrifice 1 of your perks for either BBQ or Discordance so that you can efficiently use his teleport to snowball.
-
Aesthetically, I prefer Hawkins for it's unique visual effects and sounds. But perhaps I am biased because it is the most recent, and the newer toys always seem shinier..
But gameplay-wise, I'd pick Lery's. It's bright and I can actually see without squinting, unlike The Game. And it's my personal pick for doing Scratched Mirror Myers.
Overall, I like all of the indoor maps because stealth killers can actually take advantage of them.
-
I feel like this question is a bit too vague because there's a big difference between a squad of lower-level, newer players and a squad with full meta perk load-outs and rare items.
But personally, I prefer not to dodge because it means doubling my queue time lol.
-
I would honestly be a bit upset if they released new Legion cosmetics without addressing their gameplay. They're currently a community laughingstock.
Look at Clown for example. Sure, he's gotten some pretty awesome cosmetics... but I don't care because he's still an awful killer.
-
Agreed. Second Wind is a good example of a perk that's decent in SWF but weak for solos (and there are a lot of them).
You can coordinate heals in SWF and this perk can shine, but in solo queue you'll find plenty of med-kits and Self Care. Sometimes teammates will even self-heal in your face because they want the points, or they don't unhook you for whatever reason.
Best to avoid this perk as a solo player imo.
-
The problem is the Survivors have control over Plague's power spike. It's mostly out of your hands if you get Corrupt Purge or not.
But the best part about Plague is how many Survivor perks she counters. Any healing perk or item is essentially useless, which is a big deal since Inner Strength and Second Wind are popular currently (also Adrenaline, Self-Care, etc).
Many stealth perks are also countered because of the noise from vomiting, including Iron Will! So a large amount of her power is passive, and you might not realize it when playing her.
Overall, I'd say she's a B+ killer. Solid, but not top-tier.
-
I would like for portals to start activated. They definitely need some more power if Demo is to be a top-tier killer, so this would be a good start.
(Also, is it just me, or are most of Demo's add-ons kinda weak?)

This "Did you camper/tunneler so much?" is nonsense. The DC is always flagrant and purposeful; usually after someone gets downed really fast, then leaves. There is no "frustrating camper" or overt "connection issues."
This is a problem fostered by BHVR's inability to effectively set a stricter, but still reasonable, ban system.
The devs have stated multiple times that a stricter ban system cannot be implemented until after dedicated servers release.
They are aware of the problem and are working on a solution. No sense in stirring the pot here on the forums.
-
I haven't noticed an influx. It's standard to have a DC every other game or so, unfortunately.
Nothing can be done about disconnects until dedicated servers come out.
-
I would prefer an unlicensed chapter because they tend to have more freedom with design and mechanics (and cosmetics).
Plus, the top-tier killers are all original (Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Hag/Huntress).
-
You're absolutely right. I'd give anything for more build diversity.
Can't really blame the players for using the same 10 or so meta perks though, because they were simply designed to be a cut above the rest.
If we want the meta to be shaken up, the devs will need to buff/rework perks that have been Left Behind (pun intended) to get people out of their comfort zones.
-
Agreed that it's not amazing if all 4 survivors use it and they steal the totems from you.
I've been enjoying it quite a bit though! It rewards me for doing something that I do naturally (cleansing). It means more people are doing totems, so NOED is less likely.
That being said... if I wanted to reliably heal, I'd just bring a medkit or self-care, so.. yeah.
-
Changing the rarity of an add-on doesn't really matter when players have stockpiles of them already. Prayer Beads deserve a proper re-balancing.
I would like to see collision removed while phasing as well. The Spirit should have to rely on sight and sound while phasing, not bumping into a survivor out of dumb luck.
Outside of that, I'd agree she's not OP, but she's regarded as the 2nd/3rd best killer in the game for a reason.

@Dr_Loomis said:
I honestly don't know how you guys accumulate that many items.
Simple. Ungodly amounts of playtime. Lots of people have thousands of hours logged.
-
My guess is many players like you decided to level the survivors for their perks first, since they're overall more fun imo. Lots of people probably don't have many perks/add-ons for Demo yet and won't play him until they do (myself included) because playing Killer without perks is asking to get stomped.
-
The Winter Party Starters are also my most hoarded item, since I assume they won't be coming back, and they're also not that useful lol.
-
Let's add Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe to that list as well.
-
When I play killer and hook a Kate, 90% of the time I'll catch a glimpse of her bald head. I've seen it happen on streams as well. Seems to be a common issue.
-
The max value is not "tremendously." Considerably + moderately will give you a larger benefit than Considerably + slightly.
For example, Legion's Cold Dirt add-on reduces stun time considerably (.75 seconds) and Joey's Mixtape reduces stun time moderately (.5 seconds). Combined, they reduce stun time by 1.25 seconds, so they stack additively. No diminishing returns as far as I'm aware.
-
I agree, the stun time is the most annoying thing about Legion. Even with add-ons, the survivor will always make it to another pallet/vault before the stun is over.
Frenzy is pretty slow in the first place. Why play Legion when I can play Billy and move at mach speed with an insta-down and have almost no downside to my power whatsoever?
