I think I'd rather down a survivor then injure them and give them the broken status effect

I get what you mean lol. After all, Speed Limiter is for bp preference.

  • I main Jeff for his aesthetics and his very relatable lore.

    His perks are VERY underrated.

  • Best maps in the game for horror immersion once you understand the map layout.

Til you go against a half-decent team, sure. Stalking, exposing and downing a single person has so much counterplay, and gives good survivors such confidence, that it is even more on them to lose than normal.

When did I say I ran against only bad players?

  • @MadLordJack said:

He is just a other legion or trapper without his power, so yes, he is completely helpess against good survivors. Even his crouch is only good against bad players. And I don't care to measure a killer against the mediocre or majority, but as to how well they can do against the best.

Thirty whole seconds is an extremely large amount of time for a killer to not have a power, so much so that Ghostface goes from being in Night Shroud, setting up tactical moves and 99ing opponents without their ever knowing, to literally being unable to exploit all of his previous work and being forced to either wait 30 whole seconds to fully stalk someone, or hitting them and nullifying the fact that he wasted all that time 99ing them. In fact, Ghostface might be the only killer in the game who not only actively sabotages his own efforts, but is encouraged to by a ridiculous cooldown period.

That stuff is the SOLE reason I hardly 99 survivors. If I'm going for a stalk approach, I'm surely committing to it, and it's been successful everytime.

  • You can't really put him in a tier list though.

    It simply goes that

Bad aim = Deathslinger is bad

Good aim = Deathslinger is good

It can be, but his mask practically glows with that outfit too, so idk lol. I mean I guess if they've got the devil mask I can see your point to an extent.

I just don't like the idea of doing all this work concealing yourself and ensuring survivors can't see you, stalking them, and then they get a notification saying "bad man staring at you". It seems counter to the entire mechanic. That's the entire reason the hit+run build developed imo. Why bother doing all that work (when you could be stabbing them instead) and ruin the surprise factor?

But I don't know how I'd fix it either. As I said before, I don't know if removing that notification would be the best option alone, since it would really only punish less skilled survivors. Idk.

The part you're leaving out is if the now marked survivors know where you even stalked them from. Even the sweatiest red rank survivors I've faced get confused and panicked about my location.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1472711#Comment_1472711

Sure. I guess if you're good enough you can deal with the best survivor teams with a whopping 30 second cooldown. I've just never, ever seen anyone be able to do it.

You act like he's completely helpless when on cooldown. It's up to the player to act accordingly when Night Shroud is not ready. It also depends on when or if your power was disabled during the last chase.

The 30 seconds I will agree is a tedious cooldown for a stealth killer power, but then I remember that he can move base speed whenever he wants with no TR and Stain, and owns an extremely fast stalk rate in base kit that is really powerful when utilized correctly.

  • The way he moves looks so imposing, and that makes him very scary and intimidating.

    Plus his chase music bops!

  • @MadLordJack said:

No, but he would be ridiculously overbearing. The fact that he's an add-on dependant killer would mean that, without his add-ons, he would still be an m1 killer most of the time. But, if he had no tell AND solid cooldown reduction, that would be OP.

Only add-on dependent if you can't go one trial without stacking cooldown add-ons, which IMO is not that necessary unlike what most "mains" say.

  • Agreed, Michael is in great need of a makeover.

The hair aside from looking bad is so short in the back of the mask, the neck of the mask looks more like it's grafted to his skin due to how close it is to his neck, and I can't look at his wrists without thinking he's wearing a skin suit when facing him directly. The face is semi-decent with the exception of the overbite-style upper lip(horrendously noticeable in profile shot), but they could do a better facelift here and there.

Fair. I won't deny it's a very strong addon but considering it requires a direct hit and you gotta be close, it's not like it makes you exposed if the gas simply touches you

Oh yeah, that would be stupid broken if it was just the gas to expose survivors. Glad it's not a thing with how gas physics work when throwing bottles on ceilings and walls.

  • Combine Pinky Finger w/ feather add-ons to streamline the survivor with bottles if you're having trouble making direct hits, or to increase the odds of direct tosses in general.

If you are more than capable landing direct throws, apply Ether Vol add-ons to lengthen the intoxicated effect, therefore extending the exposed effect.

  • @JackFrostMan said:

To be fair, you basically gotta be point blank at a survivor in order to make it work.

*Laughs in Deathslinger level bottle sniping*

  • Feral Frenzy is a means of chain attacking survivors to keep them injured while occupying their precious repair time briefly with the Deep Wound status effect. The cooldown of the ability is HEAVILY exaggerated by the community, it is not that bad at all. With certain add-on and perk combinations, you can be in a dominant state for a majority of your trials.

The only thing that I would say is really bad is the time of Deep Wound. The countdown is lengthy enough that survivors can commit to gens until the Deep Wound timer falls too low. The devs should decrease the length of time the bleed out triggers, making Deep Wound more of a threat.

  • The Shape is completely fine since the day he dropped, yet they randomly nerfed him anyway in the Stranger Things chapter, all because low ranked survivors were too lazy to use their eyes and ears.

  • Easily one of the strongest killers in the game if you know what you're doing.

Not to mention, extremely fun to play as well!

Anyone that claims Deathslinger is bad has clearly not played against one that knows how to aim.

Already went over this previously and a team of people could do a better job than I could. It's called creativity, get some. PH didn't have any of the powers he has in DBD he was literally just a monster with a sword. Holy ######### this argument is beyond stupid and it's one of the few people keep regurgitating.

Creativity is limited to the subject at hand, and Springtrash is a huge limit smh. With Silent Hill's level of creativity, it works with PH, yet Springtrap has nothing going for him for power potential. Don't even try, please.

And Myers has taken Jason's and Ghost Faces story. Guess Jason can't be added and GF needs to be removed because that's some solid logic right there.

    First off:

    1) All three don't have the same backstory, more so DBD's version of Ghost Face being original.

    2) Jason is actually a ripoff of Michael

He is very good at loops and getting the first hit but once you understand how to play against him you will be fine, throw pallets and you will gain too much time because he is slow and if he tries to harpoon you, you can go backwards AND, not ONLY, left or right to escape easier.

Dont run to a window, just like the huntress, if you are able to get hit try something else, like looping an 4.4 killer

Even if you throw the pallet early, most loops are still unsafe vs a Deathslinger. He can just spear and reel you in from the other side of a low wall if you're not careful.

It does a bit you cant trow your bottle high enough to get a survivor who is working on a gen when you are far from him

Indoor maps are a godsend for Clown. The plays you can make with wall/ceiling thrown bottles leads to gass filled loops with one toss.

  • Freddy is fine as is.

Comparing Spirit and Deathslinger to each other, Deathslinger actually requires skill to play while Spirit only needs a good pair of headphones to "outplay" the survivors.

Deathslinger is a 50/50 in complete honesty, because the player using them can either be very inexperienced, or downright dominating.

The whole FNAF sucks thing is subjective, so theres literally no point in bringing that up. And different forms, vents, other animatronics, sound misdirection, etc. If they could make Billy and Bubba play differently, they could make springtrap different.

But here's the thing: HOW will he work? Explain how "vents" exist on a map like Dead Dawg Saloon for example. Traversal or ranged attacks wouldn't be a power for killer that isn't even much of a killer in their current state, let alone even be armed with a weapon of any kind.

  • @BubbaMain64 said:

He's vertically challenged. In all honestly though, the power drain should pause when going up or down. Even better would be to let him put trails on elevated surfaces.

    Agreed 1000%

  • @Kellie said:

Bloodlust should've been removed since they implemented breakable walls.

Yet there's only TWO maps in the game that have breakable walls atm. Even with that, BWs don't weaken the strength of a loop as much as people think. It just creates new loops depending on the setup, or unlocking new doors to pass through.

Pennywise does more stuff then just shapeshifting, devs said that its their dream license, if they can get ahold of them, they will.

A better argument for predator would be he's more action oriented then horror, if DBD wanted Predator they wouldn't go "ah but his hunting style makes it difficult guess we cant"

Predator would have to have an entirely new way of traversal killers don't have. Trees are a main point of movement for predators, and that's something this game couldn't really have with the style of maps and how general killer gameplay works. Predator is better off in other games.

  • -Predator is highly unlikely due to how they usually hunt their prey. They also have their own game.

-Pennywise is another big NO, simply because his power would be related to shape-shifting, which wouldn't work vs a comms SWF.

Jason Voorhees is highly likely to happen...if he was legally available.

-Candyman is a likely candidate for the next licensed chapter

-Pinhead is another choice, but less likely than Candyman

I would personally like to see RESIDENT EVIL make an appearance in DBD

The next original killer I'm hoping for is something like an insectoid or an Egyptian killer.

  • Clown is my first main, so he holds sentimental value to me. He's not that weak either, you just need to know how to pressure chases, as Clown can dominate in chases already. Plus Clown naturally has a bigger area of effect with his bottles (depending on his throw) compared to Freddy. Freddy can kiss it with his tiny snares.

I mean you could say Ghostface also can't be taken seriously because apart from the first movie the Scream franchise is more of a comedy than a horror. There's also the Scary Movie where he is just a joke of a killer. Yet still, he manages to be one of the scariest killers in dbd. It's not about how scary they are in the original movie/game, it's about how scary they are in dbd.

Compared to most slashers, Ghost Face was the only one where they gave you no room to breathe when he/she chased victims. An agile, stealthy serial killer with an appearance such as that rushing my way would have me take that more seriously than a motorized hunk of metal that wouldn't realistically be fast by any means. Uncanny valley, sure, but that shouldn't be all of its substance.

And BTW, PLEASE do not use his spoof iteration as direct reference to the character, period.

His survivors could be one of the security guards, or maintenance techs or even his human form because the entity is nothing if not an #########. They can pull a Silent Hill and have the map based on a different game than 3, like the setting of a new one is a shopping mall, or combine together multiple pizzerias to make Fazbear's. And I mean his hands being weapons is fine, you have Hag and Demo just using their hands, and the Saw bros, Doc, and Oni use blunt weapons. He's got easy skin potential in the other animatronics, since whatever power they give him would likely work with the others, and the new linked outfits would prevent mismatching.

Not saying I'd be for a Freddy's rep, but potential is there. A damn sight more than Chucky, since he's way too small a character. Or Jason now, since all his tricks are covered by another character.

The stark difference is that Oni and Doc have hand held weapons, and Demo and Hag have claws for fingers. Springtrap has neither of those things to say that's fine.

If Springtrap for u is just a man stuck In a suit or a mascot (😂😂) , u dont know anything about it.

MAP - one of 4, and again FOUR locations from games, 1 pizzeria, 2 pizzeria, 3 fazbear fright and FNaF SL underground Circus.

Survivor - we dont really need a surv, FNaF lore is really complicated but we have some famous characters. The only problem is that we dont know how do they look like, but the Phone guy, can be an amazing survivor, devs just need to make a face for him.

Weapon - Yes. A hand. Without a knife. Just hand. A big, covered in blood, metal hand with metal fingers similiar to metal claws, hand that flyes to you in full speed.

On the contrary, I know my lore with FNAF, and that's practically all he is aside from his crappier redesign in Pizzaria Sim, where he suddenly became super sentient. The games are neat, and he's a fun character to look at, but I don't see him working at all IMO.

  • It's just that the only people that have the interest are fnaf fans. There isn't much to work with on a character that is nothing more than a rotting carcass in an animatronic suit. No survivors to base from, no map potential, and what about his "weapon"? It would just be his blunt hands. There are simply better options to work with that would fit better anyway. Just go play the two mascot-suited killers we already have lol.

How many movies do you think the Haloween franchise sold in 2016 before he got released on dbd? Spoiler not a lot

Forgotten might have been a poor choice of words but he definitivly wasen't on anyone's mind at the time. Hell dbd could very well be the sole reason movies about him are being made again

Saying one of the most iconic characters in all of horror (more specifically the one character to jumpstart the slasher genre) is a dead bug and only popular again because of DBD is a joke. FNAF these days is nothing more than a brand name for kids. Anyone ever brings up horror related topics, and you'll find anything but FNAF in those topics. The likes of Michael Myers, Jason, Freddy, etc. have always been mainstream names in pop culture, regardless if they have a movie in the works or not.

  • This Springtrap stuff needs to dumb down honestly. Didn't they choose to not do anymore single character chapter/paragraph DLCs?

  • @TheCursedTitan said:

No it would make it fair cause nothing can counter the cages either make it so deliverance and ds and perks like that work with the cages or make it so he needs to cage someone 3 times

The survivor is transported across the map as well as not being seen by the killer at all until they are rescued.

Sure, hook related perks don't on cages, but thats fair because the killer is blind to your presence. Cages are very optional to PH, and it saves him alot of time using a cage rather than a hook. The tradeoff you folks don't mention, is that PH too can't use hook perks like PGTW for example. Cages are a double edged sword for the killer and the survivor, but nope, Killer bad survivor good.

@doitagain_ You pretty much nailed it. Like this would have been the answer I give.

  • @Khar said:

There's so much spinechill these days that stalking seems counter productive at times..

    You'd be surprised...

  • You're using a perk I think is bad, so that makes you a bad survivor. The perk is still very useful, and I'll never get the negativity behind it. It's more often I see people heal themselves when the other three are messing around in the bushes across the map. The perk has more value towards those that can hit great skill-checks I will admit.

  • This event fuels the Jeff Jesus meme by giving him a somewhat halo over his head lmao.

  • Ghosts of dead kids in furry suits would make me not play DBD ever if it did make it into the game. FNAF is just pure cringe lol.

  • Seriously, name a claudette skin that actually looks cool compared to this. This outfit will be a refreshing take rather than the nerdy/trendy outfits she has. Might make me actually want to use Claude in games.

  • The moment you find Ghost Face leaning around a corner, your best move is to run and break LoS. Standing there and trying to reveal him from that point on is just the survivor begging to get downed easily. This is exactly why he's described as a killer that requires strong map awareness skills from the survivor in order to avoid him.

Just saying how ghostface has no mention or reference to the scream movies and the same could happen to Jason.

But if you haven't heard Scream 5 movie is supposedly happening and can't wait for it!!!!

GhostFace is not tied to the scream franchise at all. FunWorld owns the rights to the GhostFace name and costume. The movies are by a different owner, and those owners contacted FunWorld to use the costume in their movies.

I can't wait for the 5th movie either!

On your last point, devs said not long after the lawsuit started that even if it got resolved, even quickly, that they would no longer be updating the game, PERIOD. So no, they wouldn't be focusing on his own game. They abandoned it the second the lawsuit (which they knew of when they got the license). Thst game was always a nostalgia cash grab with a guaranteed expiration date for those scumbag developers.

You need to learn the difference between abandoning the game from working on the game until an active deadline BY LAW restricts you from applying further support to the project, thus leaving it for the sake of the business. The content that was halted wasn't finished by the deadline becuase they were focusing on prior content plus the overall health of the game, more particularly the servers.

  • Lampkin Lane gets so much hate, but I find it to be very decent, and I would gladly pick it over Meat Plant. Only time I hate it is when I'm a survivor forced to run a straight path of a fence vs a Hillbilly or The Oni using Blood Fury.

  • Thanks to COVID, the lawsuit is in a bigger hole than it already was. If you look closely to the skull, it looks like a piece of a stylized version of the DBD logo.
