I'm just watching bad movies while waiting for my lobby to fill.
Btw, Win 7 and 10 are a blessing: alttabbing hardly ever crashes anything, like it did in those golden days of Windows XP :)
-
This guy here has a much better answer to these... "problems":
-
May take too long. Also, them survivors is crafty: give it a few weeks and they'll figure it out.
I don't like tricks and deception. Better be honest and straightforward in our dealings. If you sell out that other guy hiding in a locker, I'll let you live.
:)
-
@Mushwin you're a likeable person. But.
YOU ARE A GODDAMN SNOWFLAKE!!!! :)
No offense, but disagreeing with someone is not "negativity" for Christ's sake... (If you asked someone if they think eating margarine is good for your health, and they say no... would that be "negativity"? Same thing.)
Sure, some posts that don't even have a statement received a lot of upvotes, even one that were just a question, or a "hello" or something. But generally, when someone posted something blatantly stupid, or some honest but misguided suggestion due to lack of experience with the game, or any bad idea really, these posts tended to receive a large number of downvotes, and with good reason. Likewise, good ideas usually got a number of upvotes. But now that we're only allowed to agree but not to disagree, it's pointless.
I'm almost sure it didn't actually happened because of real abuse (real abuse would mean someone creating a bunch of fake accounts and spamming downvotes). It's probably some Canadian thing. I hear they're not allowed to say bad things about anything or anyone, ever.
-
I'd want a secret offering, (or maybe three tiers of it, like with Oaks): "Calls on the Entity to create 1/2/3 more dull totems. A larger number of secret offerings would be better by itself (those losers who DC upon seeing one because it may be a mori could assume there's less of a chance that it is). But mostly, it would help a lot with NOED and ToTH, both being relatively weak perks right now.
Combine this with the suggested change above (light totems up only when they start having an effect), and it would be a much needed improvement.
-
I have the feeling most people, if even bother to use that function, just give 5 if they won and 1 if they lost. So, on a second thought, maybe the devs should not bother with statistics like this. Most of us just want easy games and cry if we don't get it.
-
Can we get a "No U" button at least?
-
I'm with Sairek: Empathy is great, and surprisingly, it works very well if you play selfishly: as long as someone is injured and chased, you have the exact location of the killer, so you can play very safe. But it also comes handy if you're overly altruistic.
-
Actually, as much as we all love Hatch grabs, it would be a bad idea to bring it back. (Standoffs, anyone misses them?) However, it would make sense if opening hatch with a key would not be instantaneous, rather it took at least 2-3 seconds, and it would be possible to grab a survivor while he or she is at it.

What are you on about? This change doesn’t have anything to do with the escape chance all it does is take an extra second to free yourself.
@Star99er some forum members struggle with comprehensive reading :)

Monstrous Shrine
Each time a survivor is hooked, gain a token. For each token, the End-Game Collapse timer is reduced by 3 / 4 / 5 seconds. Gain 25% increased BP in the Sacrifice category.
That's the most creative idea so far.
-
Not at all. I try my best to play toxic with all the other killers too.
-
Nope, base range is a little too short.
-
Rarely. If some losers DC-d early on first down, maybe. Or if the last survivor seems very inexperienced, I may do it as a gesture. Otherwise, no way. I work hard to get those kills. And I hate it when I'm given the hatch as survivor. You downed me, you deserve those points.
-
I have a suggestion: remove any comments expressing disagreement with anything. If we want to protect people's feelings, why not go all the way?
-
As long as the stalk timer on a survivor doesn't reset when you're revealed, I think he is. Not strong, definitely not Nurse, but I think he has potential, surprisingly.
-
They try to teach you to be a bit more frugal. Just don't spend so much on cosmetics!
-
@kakakaka ok, I summarize it as short as possible: Nurse is a threat. If she finds you, you're bound to go down sooner or later. That's how it should be in a 4v1 game.
-
They are, at least here in Eastern Europe, on PC. I'm happy.
-
Not really. Would be too hard on those survivors who want to keep the original atmosphere and don't play SWF. Plus, being on comms is not such a huge advantage. Yea it's unfair, you get information you're not supposed to, but in the end it still comes down to whether that SWF group is made of skilled players or not.
We just gotta accept that sometimes we face SWF using Discord, and that's basically hard mode. Dodge if you're chicken, or accept and relish the challenge if you're a man (or a woman, eh).
-
Jesus. Was a perfect tool for expressing disagreement, without going into details. Some discussions can actually benefit from less arguing, just some silent ayes and nays, especially the ones about simple statements.
Congrats to whoever abused it enough to be banned :/
-
The Beast (you have a TR even when cloaked), but that's more like a meme or farming build (lots of Deviousness points, lots of surprised survivors, but makes your game harder).
As for the most useful, it's probably The Ghost: Soot. No TR and no red stain for 6 seconds is powerful.

@xEa said:
Thank you guys, i will consider all of your suggestions! <3
One question: What do you think about the addon "All Seeing Blood" ?
@xEa a very decent addon. Combine it with Coxcomb Clapper (to not have any sound when cloaking/uncloaking), or just with a faster uncloak addon can land you some free hits, even grabs. Just keep in mind that 12 meters is actually a shorter distance than you'd think.
If I may add one thing: try to experiment with builds that don't rely on green or better addons. You want a sustainable addon economy, don't you? Can't always rely on them rare and expensive ones. Luckily, Wraith has a few decent brown and yellow ones.
-
@Frozenscum and @Dehitay I love to see things escalating :)
Not a fair comparison I guess though, that grind/salary thing: having thousands of hours in a game is probably the opposite of an "achievement". I'm positively scared when I see my own played hours.
@Speshul_Kitten : I'm confused. You feel the same way about NOT easing up on the grind, or about giving some BP boost to new players, as I suggested in my second post? Because the latter was the one I'm serious about. Being a new player at this time and looking and the insane grind must be very disheartening.
-
@kakakaka first, please don't go too far with bellicose approach ("stupid non arguments" and so on), I don't think screaming at each other gets us anywhere. Thanks.
As for pallet looping, the worst thing about it is not how "annoying" it is (maybe I shouldn't have used that word), but how stupid the mechanic itself is. DBD is supposed to be a game where normal humans are being chased by a semi-supernatural, relentless killer. The fact that you can be more effective as a survivor if you keep running around the same object for a long time turns the whole game into a circus. Many players compared this to Benny Hill or Tom & Jerry, and with good reason. I know realism is not the most important thing to consider, but there should be some basic standards at least. How exactly is Legion larger than Jeff or Jane? And how on earth would any of us decide to run in circles if chased by a horrific killer, instead of doing the sane thing and run away from him; yes, in a straight line, as far as we can, and try to hide.
Also, there's a balance factor. A survivor doesn't need to be good to stall the killer for 3-4 gens. If I only make a few circles around every pallet, without any mind games, without any attempt to bait an attack, just drop them after a few rounds, I can still go from pallet to pallet and keep it up long enough for my team to get down to 1-2 gens. With minimal brainwork. I find it absurd. I understand most people prefer chases as opposed to stealth, but it makes a mockery of not just the killer but the whole atmosphere of the game.
And again: playing Clown, Pig, Wraith or any other bottom feeder on high ranks is a loss if survivors are actually doing their objectives when not chased. You can win, sure, but it's not up to you with these killers: no matter how hard you try, your success is reliant of them not doing their job.
And finally, you say, "if she is really good you're not going to outsmart her"... yeah, sure. Question is, can you outsmart her for long enough to buy time for your teammates to do objectives. Not at all impossible. I've done it, it has been done to me as well... sure, it requires more effort than looping. But that's the beauty of it.
-
@kakakaka @adalesmo and others: you completely miss the point. First off, Nurse doesn't remove mindgames, in fact, mindgames are exactly what you need to outplay her (break line of sight and force her to guess incorrectly what direction you're running).
What's more important is that she's the only killer who can negate the dumbest and most annoying element of the game: mindless running around pallets for ages, which is only possible because of different collision size of killers and survivors. Horribly boring stuff. I don't want to get into the question whether it is intended or not, or whether it's exploiting or not. But the point is, with any killer, even if you play flawlessly, you can't get a 3-4K if survivors play correctly. Basically, your success depends on their mistakes, no matter how skilled you are. Whereas with Nurse, if you play well, you'll get results.
The problem is, most survivors are used to the dumb mechanics of looping and the large number of pallets. The moment they face a killer that needs a different approach, they give up. Which is sad: believe me, once you figure out the best way to outplay a Nurse, it's extremely satisfying. Not saying it's easy (hell no), but do you seriously want to play the same repetitive game of dancing around pallets forever?
-
As Smiling Jack once said: fight harder than the other sunovvabitch!
But seriously, learn Nurse. And don't listen to those cowards advising to dodge SWF groups. Beating them is a lot sweeter than a group of disorganized soloes.
-
I'd suggest using Urban Evasion, but even better: take Claudette and use Empathy. Don't jump on a generator right away, just wait until someone gets injured in the distance, then you can start repairing.
You can basically stay away from the killer for th ewhole game, and even when everyone else is dead, you still have a chance for the hatch, or the exit gates. Just don't be afraid to let your teammates carry the team. (When you're still new. Once you got a bit of experience, you may be able to get chased and lose the killer.)
-
Purple Slimy Meteor from Maniac Mansion!
-
@MarksmanSpecal you said exactly what I was about to. Nurse: I like the utter destruction of survivors, and when playing survivor, the rare moments when I manage to outplay a Nurse make me sooooooooo proud .
And Trapper too: I'm an avid trap collector myself.
-
Any of the faster uncloak addons, and The Beast: Soot. Pick Distressing, Overcharge, Brutal Strength and Unnerving Presence. Best on The Game map - use the map offering if you have one.
-
That's one of the more painful kinds of DC. Endgame DC is usually not a big deal, but if it prevents BW or gives another survivor the hatch, then it's downright cheating.
But what can we do... wait for dedicated servers and pray the devs are actually serious about dealing with DC-s.
-
Guys, competitiveness is not equal to "balanced, RNG-free and fair enough to host its own E-sport event". It's a relatively simple word, meaning players play AGAINST each other as opposed to playing cooperatively. Whether the game is BALANCED or not is a whole different question, and not the one Gardenia asked in the original post.

If you can choose in looby do you want to play against some survivors or dodge, i as survivor can also choose do i want to play against some kind of killer or not, so i instantly DCing from 4 killers and i already stoped care about teams as solo survivor, the same with killer who camps or tunnel i will DC, cause i dont wanna waste more of my time on boring game.
@tomikomPL that's a patently *silly* thing to say. Seeing survivors in the lobby doesn't tell you anything about their perks, rank, plans, etc... even seeing their items gives you very limited info. While as soon as you see what killer you're facing, you immediately know their power.
You're just too cowardly to face certain killers (I'm guessing Nurse).
And what is worse, you brag about how ruining the game for FOUR other people is no issue for you. That is truly disgusting. Please rethink your attitude.
Hope you'll get promptly banned, as soon as dedicated servers are live.

Speed Limiter.

@Black_Fence sure, I'd go for a simple "concede" option too, if it gave the killer BBQ stack, the same BP and emblem score as hooking them, taking into account whether the survivor has been hooked once, twice or not.
Also, some of the comments here about the past, reverse situations betray a bitter desire for revenge from the killer side. But two wrongs don't make a right. My fellow killers, if a survivor pissed you off, hook them, sure, but don't try to find excuses for petty behaviour like this.
And on a final note Black_Fence, you shouldn't say things like "People DC'd because she was running op add ons". For a long time, op addons have been part of the game. No reason to defend ragequitters.
-
That is a scummy thing to do. Unfortunately, I'm sure it's not bannable, unless the same killer does it to the same survivor repeatedly. And I guess even then you'd need video proof.
It's better than what it's used to be with an immersed survivor being able to drag on endgame indefinitely before EGC. But it's no excuse.
An instant suicide option would be easily abused (denying a deserved hook to the killer). But I'd fully support an option to double, maybe triple the last survivor's bleed out speed, while the same time summoning the afk crows above him/her, notifying the killer.
-
Good idea. There's a lot of talk about reducing grind, but I feel it's unnecessary to do it for everyone. On the other hand, new players are struggling to get their preferred perks, Bloodweb being extremely mean sometimes. Reducing the grind for new, and only new players sounds like a good idea.
-
Killer is more interesting, but more difficult and frustrating as well. You can relax much better as survivor.
As for fun perks, survivors have at least one: Diversion. Best thing that happened to the game since Nurse.
-
He's the most likable character of all killers. Used to be a big favourite of mine... but horribly vulnerable to genrush. A typical example of a killer who wins if survivors are dumb and inevitably loses if they know what they're doing.
Those bottles need a buff. (No, not addon tweaks.) I'd suggest a complete blindness effect by default :)
-
I'm excited about gen teleport. Take that Billy!
-
That's what I call a good game :)

Tunneling isn't necessarily the best thing to do cause you're only really putting pressure on one survivor. Getting one person out of the way may seem beneficial but it really only hurts you in most cases. If you're not snowballing damage by immediately going after someone new after a hook, then it's good to down the unhooked and go after the unhooker, which then puts pressure on 2-3 people instead of one. But ignoring the rescuer and just downing or chasing the unhooked survivor is a bad plan that gives you less leverage than you think.
@ClogWench yea you're right. I'm halfway trolling when I say that, and yeah, if the unhooker is also injured I definitely go for him/her. It's just... I don't like it when people try to make a moral or fairness issue out of it.
-
Just pick up the suspected DS user in early game, so you won't have to worry about it later.
Tunneling is still the best thing to do, unless you dislike winning.
-
Someone once suggested a dunce cap forced on them for the next few games. Would be hilarious.
-
Why tossing pebbles at each other of course.
-
Well... one exception if I'm slugged, not even in EGC, and killer just waits for me to bleed out instead of hooking me. I got better things to do.
Other than that, hell yeah. Them DC people are lowly creatures.
All of yous saying "wee this game is unplayable", "killers/survivors are mean to me"... there are other things to do with your life. You don't HAVE TO play this game: if you don't like it, just piss off.
-
Yes it's both.
1/ There are players playing against each other - competitiveness, check.
2/ There are meat hooks in the game that survivors want to be hooked on - horror element, check.
-
That's the initiation period. If you get through this, you'll have a lot of fun with the game later. Just two things to keep in mind. One, don't expect to win very often if you are new. That's not reasonable. And two, learn to ignore offensive chat for now. You'll enjoy it later, when you start destroying trolls.
Seriously, that's the most fun in the game. You get better, keep notes of the most annoying survivors, and sooner or later you find yourself eviscerating a whole bunch of them. Then you can enjoy their undignified whining in chat about "camping", "tunneling" or some other nonsense.
-
@Mister_xD nah, I just wanted to make fun of RoKrueger.
