I'm pretty sure this guy has less than 100 hours into the game.
Give him a break, we've all been n00bs.
@Coder being a noob is forgivable. Not taking 30 seconds to read up stuff about the same thing you wanna complain about is not.

Save for ghost face or troll people during event
@Redd I'd feel ######### about purposefully tunneling people during event, so they end up with something like 2000 BP. But pretending I'm gonna do that (eg. fake facecamping for half a minute) sounds like fun. Nice idea, appreciate it :)
Ghost Face... uhh, no thanks.
-
Better question is, what do I do with all them BP? I don't need any more, I got everything I need :(

90% of killers are campers and tunnelers. The other 9% are sluggers. You can't do anything to avoid it. They think they had lose if they don't make 4k.
Only thing that can change this is play 50% surv and 50% killer.
@prayer_survivor we don't "think" we lose if we don't get a 4K. We DO lose if we don't get a 4K.
Ever had a cockroach infestation in your home or workplace? Would you be satisfied if, after you paid them, the pest control service told you "hey it's ok, we exterminated 75% of them"?
-
Hag with M&A can be quite disturbing. Obviously Myers too, but 90% of my games I run Premonition so he just has no chance for jumpscares. Pig is so weak I find myself completely unable to get scared by her, despite her stealth.

@NMCKE @ClogWench yea NOED-Adrenaline comparison is a little forced. I'll watch the video later (I'm working atm :D ), but please consider this: there can be up to FOUR Adrenalines in the game. Most killers are very vulnerable to genrush. Especially with weaker killers, you can very easily end up in a game where you had hooked only two-three times total, people are blazing through gens injured, and they pop the last one with four injured. Feels like being castrated with a dull cleaver. Even if you have NOED in this scenario, any smart survivor will remember where he saw dulls earlier, so NOED goes down pretty swiftly, since you have to patrol gates too.
With all that, I'm still not proposing a heavy nerf to Adrenaline, and I'm not really serious about a buff to NOED either (I agree NOED does feel cheap). The only thing I'd like to change about Adrenaline is that you're fully helaed if you're unhooked after last gen popped. Aside from it being a very imbalanced effect, it's very counterintuitive: you get downed, get hooked, if you're unhooked normally, you're in injured state because of gameplay reasons (so you can run), although it would be more realistic if you'd have to be healed up from downed state to injured. It'd be unplayable, I get it. But getting speed bonus AND being fully healed upon being unhooked is simply broken. I'd say keep the speed bonus if you're unhooked after last gen gets done, but a full heal just crushes the killer.
Hm. I know, it's a NOED topic, not an Adrenaline topic. Sorry. But there are gazillions of NOED topics anyway, so...

Something beeing nerfed multiple times doesn't say it's balanced.
@HavelmomDaS1 indeed, NOED is not balanced. Somewhat useful against bad survivors. Nearly useless against smart ones. Could use a slight buff.
-
Crutch perk is a made up word. Every perk is a crutch. Some are stronger than others, some are definitely too strong and imbalanced. But they all give you options.
Please people, just stop saying something "rewards bad play". Cringy, stupid, meaningless rhetoric. Nothing rewards bad play. Some perks mitigate the consequences of bad play, but that's a whole different thing.
-
Play killer on rank 5 and above. You'll see how extremely weak NOED is. You're probably tired of every second reply mentioning Adrenaline, but yeah: Adrenaline can't be prevented, except by killing survivors. NOED can, and easily.
Give me objects I can cleanse/destroy to remove Adrenaline from survivors who use it. Otherwise, NOED should just be reverted to be a non-Hex perk.
-
Hah! There are some quality drawings around, but sculpting is a rare sight. I love it :)
-
@KaoMinerva beautiful. However, I think turning off chat after game is a mistake. That's the best part.
Oh, and stuff like this is even more satisfying if you DON'T use strong builds, just a Wooden Horse or something. Not that it's easy of course.
-
Play another game. I've been playing for a year. Never got harassed. Got insulted, trolled, called names, got angry and nasty comments, sure. It's all good fun. Your tolerance level is too low.
-
"We are all human beings that deserve to be treated with respect and this implies fairplay." you say.
No one deserves respect. I give survivors the courtesy of assuming they're not whiny, and they can play the game without sobbing every time I tunnel the living crap out of them. The only time I refrain from tunneling a person if I'm a hundred percent sure he or she is one of those unlucky rank 15-s, put in my game because of their higher rank friends. Unfortunately, I can't see ranks in lobby.
But otherwise, there is nothing "unfair" about tunneling. I want to kill survivors, that's what the game is about.
-
Like with any strong killer, with Nurse you can experiment with perks, do challenge builds, or simply play with no addons, once you mastered her. It's actually incorrect to say games are easy once you practiced enough. Some survivors know how to play against her. Against stealth, smart use of jungle gyms and genrush, Nurse games can be tough too.
And btw, if BHVR came to their senses and started to make more Nurse tier killers, people would play her less. Simply put, it's not the Nurse who is dated, but running around pallets.
-
Clown! Could feature a lot of sleazy, C-rated VHS porn.
-
I agree it needs some serious change, but I wouldn't want it to give an increasing bonus for each perished teammate. I love the idea of a perk that grants a strong advantage but All your fellow potatoes have to die first :)
I'm at a loss though as to what advantage. As OP said, gen repair is pointless in EGC. Gate opening would be an obvious alternative, but there is Wake Up for that. There are a lot of not obvious options for rework though. Maybe slowing down killer's weapon clean animation while also disabling grabs? Could give you a few life saving seconds, if gate is nearly open while the killer comes back.
-
No and no (surprise...). Ruin is only strong IF you're playing Doc and IF it's in a perfect spot (1 out of 10 games maybe). DS... I love it. I always try to instantly down and pick up unhooked survivor, swallow the stun and down him again. Not even because I'm triggered by DS, I just feel it's not that big of a deal.
-
I still have the feeling Ghostface may be the first DLC I don't buy as soon as he's out. His power may or may not be fixed, but I doubt his perks will be. Not to mention I find the Scream movies incredibly stupid.
sigh
This game needs a new Nurse...

@George_Soros Hehe I can’t say I completely agree with the mastering = boring part. If i’ve had a bums run with other killers i most definitely enjoy repairing my ego by overwhelming survivors in my next few matches as Freddy. He’s pretty much my “F You” killer that i almost always 4k with.
@DudeDelicious oh yes, that's what I use Nurse for. Sometimes I don't want all that stress, don't want the challenge, don't want anything that involves too much effort... just a sweet bloody massacre and a sea of salty tears :)
-
I just want to cook people and eat them. At least one each game. The rest can escape. Or join in.
(Mods: yes, it's a joke, I don't really approve of cannibalism, geez. Unless someone looks reeeeally tasty.)

@George_Soros A lot of what holds players back when trying new killers is the belief they can play a killer the same way that they play their main but it’s just with a different power/ability, so when they lose they immediately conclude “blah blah” is crap. A great deal of the roster require completely different mindsets and approaches to trials than what some players get used to.
You’ve given good advice: when prepared to invest the time, which is normally a lot, AND the willingness to adapt and unlearn, anyone become decent with any killer.
@DudeDelicious well said. I'd add: the learning process is actually the part I find the most fun. The moment you master a certain killer is the moment it gets boring (unless you're willing to try out some unique builds). Being "on the way there" is the best. Life is motion eh?
-
One, he's very loud. Two, I swear, every time I hook the guy I can smell sour sweat and stale beer. He might be a cool guy with a heart of gold, but way too oafish for my taste.
Or maybe I'm just envious because he's taller than me...
-
She speaks Old Valyrian. Not sure that's a "redeeming quality" (only person I know of with this knowledge is an utter #########), but there you have it.
As a killer, she's useless.
-
I read Atlas Shrugged and I actually enjoyed it 🤐
-
Well, the last one standing always has the option to draw the attention of the killer and get promptly hooked. That way it's much faster. You can convince your teammates to do it, saving you some time.
Otherwise, as long as the hatch mechanic is what it is (and I don't think there's any serious problem with it), I'll keep slugging the third while I'm hunting down the fourth. I want my 4K.
-
Huntress was the one I always afraid of (playing as, I mean). Some of them hatchet hits and misses seem so terribly random, even without lag. But I have good news for you: anyone can practice and become decent with any killer. There were no other killers left to max out, so I started playing her, and quickly improved my skills from "pathetic" to "somewhat potato".
It's just that you have to tolerate a lot of frustrating defeats, and the inevitable "gg ez baby killer" remarks. That's not that bad. You should really give a shot to some killer you never played before.
-
Really, just get used to being camped or tunneled in some of your games. Killers care mostly about kills, not points, not a pat on the back from the devs, but kills.
And reverse: genrush is just survivors doing their objective. Can't blame them for that.
-
It's only 7:33 AM, but I'm sure this is the dumbest thing I will have read or heard today.
Jesus man. Just Jesus.
-
Obvious move from devs would be to give a repair penalty to injured survivors. Would make a non tunneling strategy more effective.
-
If timer goes faster, killer has a more difficult time to hook you. Better to decrease the bleedout timer, if conditions are met (last survivor, EGC on).
-
@Sombrero why would you escape from a good Nurse? That's the whole point, if she's good, she will get you. Or you want a game where 1) if the killer is bad, you escape, or 2) if the killer is good, you escape?
Would be kind of boring.

@Mochan said:
The game isn't balanced around Rank 20 potatoes. In case you hadn't noticed, Rank 20 has the highest mortality rate.
He puts it a little obnoxiously, but there really is some point there: the majority of killers can ONLY perform even relatively well if survivors play stupid (or play for memes). You can be an amazingly skilled Billy, Hag, Huntress, whatever, if they know how to loop, when to unhook (andI when not to), how to hit Ruin skillchecks, etc, they'll win, that simple. That's the basic nature of the game currently: if both sides play silly, anything can happen. If both sides play smart, survivors win. The only exception is Nurse: if you play right as Nurse, you win. That's why myself and plenty others play Nurse most of the time.
And, although the recent uproar about Ghostface is often nasty or vulgar, most of it is understandable. Those who play killer are sick of killers that can only rely on survivors making mistakes. Your own skill and experience should be enough, but unfortunately it is not.
We just want to have results when both us and survivors do out best. Sadly, it only happens with Nurse.
-
As a killer, 4K. I can settle for a 3K, but that's not quite satisfying, except when I manage to catch the fourth survivor but decide to give him the Hatch.
As survivor: I play two different styles. If I play stealthy, I want to escape. Don't care about pips, don't care about BP or how much I helped my team; if I manage to slip out, I'm happy.
But a little more often, I get my We're Gonna Make It and/or BT, and try to do it all: saves, generators, wasting the killer's time. Survival be damned. That's the only case when I actually care about pips.
Oh and there is one more thing: I always use Diversion. In any game, if I use it at least two-three times successfully and make the killer lose me in a chase, I feel like a winner, whatever the outcome of the trial.
-
And I'll keep disagreeing with you :)
Really, having a free Bond for up to 25 seconds of use, with an extended range is not a bad deal. I know how annoying it is to find a no addon Broken Key in a chest, but it's hardly a gamebreaking event.
Survivor mains need to learn to appreciate those hilarious moments in DBD. Finding a broken key when you're without SC and frantically searching for a medkit... just have a good laugh about it and move on.
Or not. One thing I may go for is swapping durations of Broken Key and Skeleton Key. The latter is strong already, killer or survivor aura reading for 30 or more seconds thrown on top of that makes it huge. Whereas 10 seconds is a little underwhelming, even for a green item.
-
@Watery said:
Nurse can be broken, but her addons need more attention than the Nurse’s power itself.
period.
So OMEGABLINK and other stuff is gone, because that stuff is frustrating to against.
@Watery "frustrating", this argument shows the problem with players who complain about "strong" or "OP" killers.
This game is great BECAUSE it's often frustrating. I really don't mean to be condescending, but those who can't take a bit of frustration, should play something else.
-
I agree with this view, but I always had the impression most players play both sides. I'm a killer at heart, but I have a lot of fun as survivor (Diversion!!!!!). It's just that most of us, even if we play both roles regularly, are drawn to one side more than to the other, thus we're biased even if we have valid survivor and killer experience.
-
I understand the joke, but it's not completely fair. Remember Hag and Trapper trap setting times? Remember Wraith unable to interact when cloaked? Remember faster healing times, 100% BNP, pallet vacuum, infinites, no Exhaustion, limited gen regression and a lot more?
I agree even today, killer is more frustrating than killer, and it will probably stay that way forever: survivor mains are larger in numbers and weaker in character. It's an unfortunate necessity. But some changes, especially in the past year, are steps in the right direction. The devs certainly committed great sins too recently: Legion change, MoM, Plague, etc. But sometimes they come through, like with DS, slower healing, and a number of other changes.
And anyway, you don't play killer because you want to take the easy path. You play killer because you want to do what's right.
-
@Aven_Fallen I wouldn't much care about removing green and yellow range addons. They're great, but usually having only brown range addon is enough. [EDIT: also, I don't need two or three extra blinks, that build sucks. Range is much better]
Problem is, sometimes you face those 4 MoM 4 Adrenaline 4 instaheal groups, plus whatever else: BT, DH, DS, or other relatively strong builds in SWF. I don't mind that so much: we all wanna win, don't we? But in these cases, even Nurse needs an extra edge. So, Very Rares and Ultra Rares have their place too.
As for the original topic: I love this game, but if Nurse is actually going to get nerfed, that's a ######### uninstall for me. She's literally the only killer worth playing. All the rest is good for memes only.
-
I'll miss aura reading, but I'm quite excited about gen teleport. I wish every killer had that.
-
This. Suggestion. Has. Come. Up. A. Million. Times.
Was tested too, actually. Didn't work, was scrapped. Hard camping is very rare. The few times when it happens to you, you should be able to deal with.
-
Wait, what is this about? They mentioned something about nerfing Nurse in the stream?
-
Those are browns, not greys. And I use them all the time. I HATE going into every match packing purples & pinks. You gotta spend about 50000 BP to get 2-3 of those. It's just not sustainable, but what's more important is that they make things easier. I don't want easy.
-
God, here we go again.
-
What about teabagging? Long overdue!
-
@TreemanXD are you a girl? Salad, fruits, cereals, yogurt, that kind of #########?
Believe me, these don't do you any good. Man up and consume a large amount of meat and fat every day.
-
Cereals are a road to Hell anyway. Start your day with real food: fried eggs with bacon, fish, the occasional steak.
-
Yea, as long as killing them as fast as possible counts as "nice".
