Swamp is one of the maps where the issue with the map-design approach shows best (worst):
Maps are mostly made for the killer they've come with:
Swamp is (theoretically) great for hag: nigh impossible to spot traps, ridiculous totem spawns etc.
Coldwind is billy's map: lots of space for chainsaw runs, very little to really dodge behind.
etc.
And this is a design philosophy that continues till today:
Glenvale has a lot of drop- and trickshot points (like shooting someone off the gallows gen from below or from across the street)
Midwich has long corridors and narrow vaults that make PH's range attack and cages very effective
etc.
Makes one wonder what maps for blight, twins and trickster would have looked like. Blight and Trickster would like have similar maps, at least if ricocheting would be basic for trickster: lots of weird angled walls and nooks and crannies. Twins... i dunno, maybe the catacombs of paris or something? narrow tall corridors charlotte can block?
Not so sure. Remember Freddy (on release) and Badham? There was no synergy at all.

I only use Brutal Strength when I am playing Pallet Freddy. It is not the king among perks, but it does its job.

I love Sally and I'll eat the breakfast of anyone that talks bad about her.
Seriously, she's fine. When I play SWF she's the only killer that we actually fear facing. Top survivors need someone that actually is a threat to them. She's also not that uncounterable, even god tier Nurses get juked and cucked by big maps.
Glad to see that someone agrees with me! That is exactly what I am saying, there must be a killer capable of dealing with everything survivors have.
-
Unpopular opinion, but I think Nurse is not a problem and her nerf should be reverted. And, before you mori me, please just hear me out.
The Last Breath Chapter was released on August of 2016, and back then the game was extremely unbalanced. It was a necessity for killers to have something that could deal with infinite loops, double pallets, pallet vacuum, window vacuum, and everything else. And so came the Nurse, a very powerful killer but difficult to master. Very difficult to master.
Many things have changed since then, but the fact remains that, on higher levels of play, survivors still have the advantage. Not exactly in the same way, of course (except double pallets, which have returned for some unknown reason), but they still have the advantage. There must be a killer that can win against the best survivors out there, a killer that can deal with everything. Nurse fits that spot perfectly.
Now, I admit that 5 Blinks and Omega Blink were unbalanced, just like old Prayer Beads, but they are add-ons. There was no need to change her base kit.
What I am saying is: Nurse is extremely powerful because she needs to be.

I would actually consider buying that even though I barely play Freddy
A New Nightmare outfit is a pretty good idea. As a Freddy main, I would definitely buy it!
-
As I've said earlier, my main is the only killer in the game that doesn't have a single cosmetic, so I always use the Prestige one:
However, other killers have some interesting options:
And back to prestige we go:
For survivor, the answer is obvious...Prestige!
But my main is an exception. I love the TEAMSXY Gear and I use it all the time:

Happy Easter! I hope everyone enjoys this day and eat a lot of chocolate (if that is a tradition in your country, that is.)

It’s hella easier
Playing survivor is playing DbD in easy mode as I like to say.
That's why I play killer first of all, but I completely understand you, I've taken a lot of +4 months breaks from this game because it's completely survivor-sided.
And it has been like that since I started playing back in 2018 more or less, or even before.
A fellow 2018 player, I see. Well, balance wasn't perfect back then, but it wasn't that bad either. DBD has seen worse.

That's when you gotta prestige. All my faves are licensed, so limited cosmetics. Give me a dozen choices and I don't bother, but I had to P3 my favorites.
Precisely. And, luckily for me, Freddy's prestige cosmetic is really good.
-
That sad moment when your main is the only killer in the game that doesn't have a single cosmetic... It feels bad :(
At least I have the TEAMSXY Gear as survivor.
-
They need to fix his reveal mechanic as soon as possible.
-
Yes, Haddonfield is a problem. Old Balanced Landing made it ten times worse, thankfully that is long gone, but this map still needs adjustments.

Is it really a merciless requirement for that reason? If so, then man these devs are dumb. "Let's make adept unnecessarily hard for all killers because of the few times that someone was using a mori, and then let's not revert that change after we've fixed moris." What a joke.
I don't think so. It always required a Merciless Victory, however this could be achieved simply by getting a 4K. The Demise of the Faithful Chapter changed the emblem system, making killer adepts much harder to get.

My gosh. So much for being a stealth killer. Glad they fixed that and he’s a pretty solid killer now.
Thankfully. Imagine if he hadn't been fixed...easily the worst killer in the game.
-
Honestly, the only thing that Myers needs is his multi-stalk back. It should have never been removed.

I main Freddy, brightness is never an issue... except Old Freddy on Lery's, which was so DAMN bright!

I wasn't around when Ghostface was on the PTB. Was he really that bad?
Yes, he was. He could be instantly revealed by survivors (1 second) and he emitted a global sound warning every time he activated his power.
-
There is something wrong. I've found 3 Iridescent Keys in a row, without Plunderers.
-
Isn't Swamp, like, everyone's worst map?
Just Grim Pantry, tho. The Pale Rose is fine.

I'm a killer main these days but I agree. New Ruin is the only killer perk I absolutely hate playing against. It was one of the things that killed solo for me. At least with old Ruin you made progress, just slower. New Ruin deletes generators and it's really boring to play against. If I go against ruin/undying on a map like lerys or midwich where totems are up forever I'm not gonna lie I give up on hook. Such a boring perk.
Agreed. There is a reason why Old Ruin lasted for years. It was a very good perk and with it skill checks actually demanded skill. Besides, it was one of the most effective counters against gen-rushing..
New Ruin is strong, but it is not that interesting to use. And it is not fun to play against, in my opinion.
-
I can understand complaints about NOED on other killers, but Trickster really needs it. I mean, the only killer that managed to be weaker than him was PTB Ghostface. Let him have his NOED.
-
Please don't... I am going to have flashbacks of Infinite Mending Legion...

I was hoping you would comment on this you seem to be the most active Freddy main on these forums. It’s nice to see one of your builds! What other Freddy builds do you run when you aren’t going for the forever Freddy build?
Thank you! I try my best to be the nicest Freddy main DBD has ever known :)
As for build, well... it is a tricky question. My "standard" build basically consists of: Corrupt Intervention, Hex: Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, and Barbecue & Chilli.
If I am going for Dream Pallets instead of Snares, then I will probably run Enduring or Brutal Strength instead of Ruin. And, if I feel like it, I might run something unexpected, like Hex: Haunted Ground or Lightborn.
P.S: Things were a little bit different with Old Freddy. I dare say I had more diverse builds back then, with perks such as Coulrophobia and the NOED + Blood Warden combo.

I'm fairly certain you are mistaken, given the opinions they present.
I just checked DBD Playerstats, and I was right. Rank 2 killer.
Now why would a Rank 2 killer, who clearly knows just how frustrating the killer experience on higher ranks, think that survivors are weak? That is beyond me.
-
Freddy main here. If I want to play Forever Freddy, I will run something like this:
But this is just a suggestion, Freddy is a versatile killer so feel free use any perk you want :)
-
I know it was broken, but I really want to do the "Machine Gun Hatchets" build.
-
Agreed. This new lobby made me realise how much we need Lobby Customisation.

Apparently Sluzzy plays at rank 15. Good to know. Hey, pro tip: if you're at those ranks and you just chase normally without using his power, he's a lot stronger. Especially since the survivors have no idea what they're doing.
"Apparently Sluzzy plays at rank 15. Good to know"
Not exactly. If I am not mistaken, Sluzzy is a Rank 2 killer.

Agreed, Lol.
On topic though, I would like to know what the trickster is saying as well. Hopefully someone on this forum can translate his speech for us.
-Before killing the Survivor being moried, The Trickster says "간다!" (Ganda), which translates to "Go!".
-After killing the moried Survivor, The Trickster says "감사합니다!" (Gamsahabnida), which translates to "Thank you!".
-When getting stunned, The Trickster says "제기랄!" (Jegiral), which translates to "[BAD WORD]!"
-When reloading his knives via a locker, The Trickster says "이거다" (Igeoda), which translates to "This is it".
-
And the smol bear returns:

Why can't I pick a different killer if I see it's someone who I've played against before with a specific playstyle? Yet survivors are allowed to switch to a character with a key in the last few seconds.
Also why is the main menu worse than it was? It used to be so quick to switch between the roles now I gotta back up to the menu to pick killer or survivor what is the purpose of these changes?
It is because each one of your killers will have a different MMR level. The removal of killer switching prevents you from finding a lobby which a killer that you are not good with, and then switching to your main in order to have an easier time.
I don't know why they removed this, but I want it back.
@Phasmamain said:

It means each of your killers will have a different MMR level
For example your Freddy might be good while your Oni is terrible so your MMR with oni will be lower
I love how you somehow described what my MMR probably looks like without even knowing it.

I hope he gets a billy treatment nerf and is so unplayable no one touches him. One of the most boring killers to face where they think they outplayed you but really got carried by the sheer number of bs addons and abilities he has in his kit. I really hope he is so terrible after that he is F tier and never makes an appearance again.
First of all, don't wish for something to be nerfed just because you do not enjoy it. I hate Ghostface, but I never cry for him to get nerfed.
Second, what "bs add-ons"? Swing Chains and Jump Rope? They aren't even that strong. Do you know their actual values? 2% and 4%, respectively. If you wake up, Jump Rope will be avoided and Swing Chains won't have its effect increased.
As for his abilities, his teleport is fine and a necessity on higher ranks. His Snares are not that powerful, but maybe they could see a change or two. As for pallets, well no one complains about pallets.
I understand you might be frustrated, or just want to rant, but there is no reason to ask for an unnecessary nerf.

Freddy is so good he doesn’t need addons to be honest
Yes, but using them is fun. Or at least it used to be. I usually enjoy running Jump Rope and Nancy's Masterpiece. It is nice, but not as fun as old Class Photo and Paint Thinner.
-
Oh, it hurts to see that. Add-ons like Class Photo and Pill Bottle used to be very strong. And now... Well, at least we have Swing Chains and Jump Rope.
-
It is more than obvious that this thread will be full of comments talking about bad experiences people had with my babe. So, why not sit by the fire and hear the words of a long time Freddy main?
Freddy has been my main ever since I first started playing, prior to his rework. At the time, Freddy was regarded as the worst killer in the game. I didn't really believe that and decided to see it for myself. And let me tell you, my experience with Old Freddy was amazing! He was a very unique killer and extremely fun to play as. Yes, he had his weaknesses, but once you got used to his playstyle he could be quite deadly, especially with add-ons like Class Photo and Paint Thinner.
And then, he got reworked. It was nice seeing my main jumping to the top of the Tier Lists, but that wasn't really what I wanted. However, that wasn't enough to make me stop playing him. Nothing is. As much as I want my old killer back, I cannot deny that his new power is fun and I do enjoy it.
Now, with the confirmed nerf, I am nervous. He doesn't need a nerf and I am afraid he will receive the "Billy treatment" or even worse. I won't stop playing him if that happens, but that doesn't mean I am okay with it.
Well, here is a nice picture to end this comment:

To be fair, when survivors are heavy nerfed every patch there comes a point when some killers finally have to be nerfed. Now several needs to be nerfed. It's very imbalanced to have strong killers when survivors in general are extremely weak.
Hold on, but you never wanted Nurse and Billy nerfed. You've defended them.
And now you are defending Trickster, which is literally the weakest killer in the game. Come on, you know he needs buffs.
-
I don't really have one anymore, but I have an interesting story: Old Freddy with Overcharge.
And now you are probably thinking: "Why?" Well, survivors that didn't have Self-Care had to find a way to escape the Dream World, otherwise I would be able to attack them. And Overcharge was a free escape, and so they intentionally failed the skill check every single time... only for me to go back to the gen and pull them into the Dream World again :)
I know it sounds weird at first, but it was a good build.
-
Fun to play against:
Fun to play as:
Now, let me explain something: I really enjoyed playing Doctor and Billy with their previous versions, and since both of them got changed I haven't played them enough to form a new opinion.
-
I think it is because of the lack of experience. Basically, if you weren't playing around the time she released, you probably haven't seen a lot of Plagues, to the point where a lot of survivors don't even know how to counter her.
-
I got the game in 2018, and since then I play both sides, but not equally. I am more inclined towards killer because I find it to be a much more fun and rewarding experience, especially when you defeat that one SWF Team that was trying to make fun of you.
