Agreed. Breakable Walls are nothing more than one of The Realm Beyond's countless mistakes. An overall bad mechanic, which should be removed.
-
And nostalgia is about to overwhelm me again, as it always do every single time I see a thread like this one. I miss my main so much.
-
First of all, it is important to notice that Legacy players had to go through an extremely unfair grind and they deserve praise and respect. However, there are reasons why they should be available for everyone to earn:
-Exclusive cosmetics by themselves are not a good kind of reward. They are very capable of attracting cheaters, which is extremely unhealthy for the game.
-There are countless players out there who would have been able to get Legacy if they were playing during the right time. Not to mention that Console players never got a shot.
-Some people lost their Legacy due to an terrifying glitch which used to happen back a day. A chance to earn them again would help them a lot. It is BVHR's fault for allowing the "loss of progress" glitch to stay in the game for as long as it did. The least they could do is giving those players another chance.
-
I have an extremely long list of changes I would do if I had the power, way too long to post here.
But, if I could change one thing and one thing only, I would scrap The Realm Beyond. Gone. Reduced to atoms.
I want my good ole' maps back.
-
"Maps have too many deadzones, there is not enough fog anymore"
You are not wrong on that one. The Realm Beyond destroyed every map it touched, at least in my opinion.
-
Yeah, it is about time. I've defended Spirit in the past due to the aggressive and unreasonable nature of most threads asking for nerfs. Not all of them, but most of them.
However, a change which adds counterplay without gutting her is long overdue.
-
If they want to get out of the match, I will not deny said request.
-
A few random ones:
-Freddy's "Jump Rope" add-on shares its name with a music from the remake's OST, which happens to be his lullaby.
-The perk A Nurse's Calling had its flavour text changed a long time ago. The original was: "Does she still bear some empathy inside her? Or can she smell blood?"
-The perk Franklin's Demise is a direct reference to the death of Franklin Hardesty, a character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
-The Smoking Splinter was the only Splinter which didn't have a flavour text.

It will be fun, I assure you. Don't tell me you are not up for some old-fashioned 2016 DBD Action. Because I sure am!

Dont ever be sorry for pinging me please. I did that test by myself and of course I got the Hag but Freddy was nowhere to be seen. I guess it has to do with clicking on the,, I like to Set up" Option and a few other special answers. I guess that for this test Freddy also falls under the,, setup and trap" category. If you choose this hag gets many points and if most others questions get answered in favor of Freddy I think both end up at the top spots
I understand. I just tend to apologise a lot.
As for the the test itself, I believe this is true for the current version of Freddy. Just by clicking on "I like to set up" will bring you closer to both of them, as you've mentioned. However, me and @QwQw answers were directed towards the original version of Freddy (you know, the one who pulled you to the Dream World in order to attack), and the result we got was Hag.
I don't see any similarities between these 2 killers, other than their uniqueness. Is this just a coincidence? Or am I missing something?

I'm pretty sure it stems from them both having a very unique playstyle?
Perhaps. I can't think of anything else. But maybe a master can.
@Michi I apologise for the ping, but if I may ask: do you think there are any similarities between Hag and Old Freddy? Or something that can possibly explain this result?

Weird, I also got Hag, and I also think it would have given me Old Freddy if he was still around.
Weird, right? As far as I can tell, they do not have a lot in common.

I don't think so??? It's like, against a 4man tournament SWF then it's completely fine but against 4 solos, who don't do anything then just DC, it's like,, how can people think it's okay vs them?
which then brings up the severe issues between solos and SWF so hey BHVR please buff solos and not in the form of perks thanks.
Yeah, it is not good that a Nurse can go all out against 4 solos, just like a SWF can go all out against a casual killer. But then again, I doubt this will ever change.

I don't wanna be caught agreeing with you but I actually agree against solos- it's incredibly oppressive and the opposite of fun when used on a high-mobility killer.
Allow me to once again highlight against solos.
Is it bad I actually agree that this build can get a little oppressive? Especially on someone like Blight or Spirit.

And a nice chase it would be.

None.

It is time to embrace tradition:

I cant imagine Freddy with only a 16m terror radius lol.
His TR was only 16 m in order to make his aura-reading more effective.
-
"Consistency". A poor excuse, if you ask me. Pig used to have a 28 metres TR, Old Freddy had a 16 metres TR, Myers had a 6 metres TR before Undetectable became a thing. Those were very nice, added a little bit of variety.
-
My answers would've given me Old Freddy if he was still around, but since he isn't, the quiz gave me... Hag?
HAG?
What? Don't take me wrong, Hag is a strong and interesting killer, but it is not a killer that I play. I bought her back in early 2019, leveled her up for her perks, after a long time did her adept, and never touched her again.
Are there any similarities between Hag and Old Freddy that I am missing?
-
Tuesday.
-
Nope. Freddy is perfect for me.
-
Don't worry, my friend, for the rework shall fix it:
-Worse visuals
-Breakable Walls which create infinites
-Safe pallets.
Fair and balanced map.

As I've said on some other threads, welcome to the failure we like to call "The Realm Beyond", which destroys what we love while failing to address actual issues.

Looks like you are not aware that it is better to revive an old thread than creating new one about exactly the same issue.
The experience/skill does not change that this kind of build is stupidly strong in public matches, especially with high mobility / teleporting killers.
The comment about the revival was not a complaint, and it was not directed at you.
And yes, I understand the strength of the build, all I am saying is that someone with experience can deal with that, or at least have an easier time.

It's less about him being unable to deal with it and more about solo queue teammates being unable to parse that maybe cleansing Ruin is a good idea. Besides, Midwich is a pretty good map for Sharp Hand Joe as it is. Not sure why he'd run Pop with Ruin + Undying, that seems like overkill and Sloppy would probably be better.
One thing you do have to admit is that Tinkerer on Freddy is stupidly strong. I wouldn't say OP, because of the teleport cool-down and warning time survivors have to leave, but it's still ludicrously powerful - a bit like MYC on a Hag.
Yeah, I didn't take into consideration the skill of his teammates. Still, maybe it could've been up to him to go after the Totems, and even on a map like Midwich they will get cleansed eventually. That build feels like overkill, but many other builds are the same and most of the time they can be dealt with. Most of the time.
And yes, Tinkerer is extremely strong, but if Ruin is already gone and Pop is not on stand-by then it loses much of its power.
-
A revived thread which happens to talk about my main? Well, must be my lucky day.
@gnehehe said:
Just faced one Freddy with Ruin / Undying / Tinkerer + Pop + Pink Brush add-on with Midwhich map offering (for additional fun I guess, icing on the cake) in solo queue; well that was very interesting hmm
I do not care about KYF or comps ... but this BS should not be allowed in public matches, period!
Oh, come on! You've been on the Forums since 2018, that alone is a sign of experience. I bet you can deal with such build.

Yeah whenever I get that one or the swamps I just groan.
The Pale Rose if ine, imo. One of my favourite maps. Grim Pantry is evil, for both sides. Still, I find it much better to play on it than any reworked map. I hate the Realm Beyond with a passion.

Lol I actually wouldn't want them to disable any of the maps permanently because I know that every map is loved by someone, but yeah, I'm with you. I hate that map.
Same, my friend. Literally my least favourite map.

Then forget to re-enable it.
Yes, please! I would love to forget that Dead Dawg Saloon exists.

Those maps in particular are just outdated. If anything, the basements in all of the maps appeal more of a horror cliche than those 3. I don't know anyone who "enjoys" playing on them. The reworks for them were also disappointing, I would've expected more from shelter woods and the main tree, but nope just a huge dead-zone.
I can understand the complaints about Rotten Fields, but Shelter Woods and Wrecker's Yard were good maps prior to the Realm Beyond, in my opinion.
-
Spirit I can understand. I would not like to see her get completely gutted, but I suppose a change would help.
Deathslinger, however, doesn't need a nerf.
-
I would use it every single trial, so it better be a common offering.
-
This actually sounds like a good suggestion, to be honest. Quite an interesting perk.
-
Nerfing Billy was probably one of the worst balance decisions we've ever seen. The only "OP" thing about Old Billy was Insta-Saw and maybe some other add-on combinations, but even that can be debatable.
His nerf must be reverted. It is the right, and logical, thing to do.

And Myers had a child from him nephew and she was still child (like 15 or 16).
So we are gonna talk about bad movies? or original movies.
Doesn't really matter from which movie they come from, every single licensed killer is evil.
Freddy abused / killed children, Myers killed his own sister when he was 6 years old, Leatherface is part of a cannibalistic family and craft masks out of people's faces, Pyramid Head is a mysterious being who cares only about punishment and agony, Demogorgon is a wild animal which eats humans and Nemesis is literally a bio-weapon.

No idea! @GeneralV is probably someone who knows all about Freddy though. Do you know the answer to this question?
Short answer? Yes.
Long answer? He was always supposed to be. When the original films were in production, Wes Craven had to change it last second because of a high profile investigation that was happening at the time. So, Freddy became a child killer in the original films.
The remake, however, was going to make him an innocent man, motivated by revenge instead of lust. This was also changed last second, for some unknown reason. Which was a very bad decision, in my opinion. Making him innocent would be a very good twist.

And was way stronger than perceived to be.
Most certainly, my friend. Probably the most underrated killer in Dead by Daylight's history.
And I will tell you, I would do anything to play him on release. I started playing in 2018, over a year after his first nerf. But I've seen countless videos of his original power and they've impressed me. It was everything I already loved about him, just a little bit better.

Quite a bit of Freddy's in this thread!
Indeed! And it is not a surprise, actually. Despite not being a top-tier killer, Old Freddy was extremely fun to play as!
