You talking about omegablink Nurse?
Yeah, those were the days. No killer could nuke survivors quite like an omegablink Nurse with Infectious Fright.
Indeed. And even before IF released it still was a terrifying killer to go against.

I used to do that back in the day with omegablink Nurse.
Then I realized it was wrong to take out my frustration on randoms. Now I'm a lot more chill when I play killer.
Oh, this name brings back some memories.

I basically play Freddy exclusively, so this question just has one possible answer.

Also I forgot to mention, a couple of patches ago BHVR made a change that stopped custom perks showing in game, and then a couple of patches later they worked again, they had no reason to fix it but they did so.
Yes, I remember that. Perhaps it is one more reason why I should go for it.

Could be worse. Every indoor map has it beat for worst imo
Well, Old Lery's was my favourite map for a very long time so I am okay with indoor maps. But Dead Dawg...oh, Dead Dawg is painful.

This plus being able to unlock trophies/achievements in offline mode. The only thing that would change about them is being able to unlock them offline, so I would think Sony and Microsoft would be fine with it (unless they really are that stingy, if so then holy crap). Most people are not masochistic enough for trophies like Skilled Huntress, Adept Nurse, three blink gen grab, etc (and even fewer are crazy enough to do them twice).
Well, to be honest I was crazy enough for the three blink gen grab achievement, but I like your suggestion. Having an easier way to get Skilled Huntress and Evil Incarnate would be nice.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is the absolute best, by a long shot. I bought the DLC together with the base game back in 2018 and I am really glad I did it.
As for my least favourite, I have to go with Scream. There isn't much about it other than Ghostface, who happens to be the killer I hate most.
-
I'll do you one better: why does Dead Dawg Saloon exist?
-
As someone who also lost their main killer, I understand this feeling all too well. Billy's nerf has to be reverted. It is about time.

This thread turned into a puppy war... And no, I am not complaining :)

Oh, that is nice. It has been quite a while since I've last seen a "SS Tier".
Anyway, here is mine:

Dead Dawg Saloon is the worst map in the game, in my opinion. Doesn't matter if I am playing survivor or if I am playing killer.

I would've found the "He was an innocent man" twist much more gratifying. It would've been an interesting twist on Freddy Kreuger's character,
I agree completely.

Unfortunately, the Freddy we have is not the good version. If I'm being honest, considering what he is in the remake... I don't think I'd want any kind of lore about him.
That is completely just me, though.
Well, I would love to get more Freddy lore, he is my all-time favourite character after all. And to be honest, I really enjoyed the remake, except for one small detail: they did not make Freddy innocent, as originally planned.
As for what he is, well, that was always the idea. Wes Craven had to change it last second because of a high profile investigation which was happening at the time. However, I think they should have made Freddy an innocent man, motivated by revenge instead of lust. A better twist, in my opinion.

Gold days, i remember. Freddy games was longer. Now my games ending in max 10 minutes. Everything so fast. Hope we can play as Old Freddy against bots.
Yeah, I also have the feeling that games used to be slower back in the day. And that is something that I miss.

I’m not sure about old maps since the assets might be gone now but things like old Freddy/nurse/bubba clown and so on would be great
Maybe even old legion if I want the bots to suffer :)
I hope the assets are still there, because I would love to play on old maps. Especially Old Lery's. I miss my favourite map.
And Old Legion is an evil idea... I like it" :)
You want bots to suffer? 1 add-on: Frank's Mixtape.

Of course, my friend, you know I will never give up on my favourite character. But it goes beyond him.
Playing as Old Freddy is already perfect, but playing as Old Freddy with Old Ruin on Old Lery's... Ah, my friend, that is priceless.
-
Freddy. Give me that sweet ANOES content!
-
As I've said on another thread, I would love to have an offline mode with bots, but only if they allowed us to customise the living ######### out of it. I am talking about playing with old killers, on old maps, with old perks.
I don't know how they would do it, but I would love it! Since we will be playing with bots anyway, there is no reason not to give us freedom.

I no longer use custom perk icons because I use a DBD stat tracker (NightLight), which requires its users to screenshot the endgame results and since it detects the perk icons you can't use it with custom icons.
So you've used them in the past, right? Any problems, like EAC errors or something?

Honestly yes. I absolutely hate the fact that the perk icons are all purple. I liked the green and pink perk icons.
I see. I admit it feels weird to see perks such as WGLF and Sloppy Butcher with a purple icon. Not to mention everything I've already said.
If only the risk was 100% non-existent, it would make everything easier.

@Seanzu said:
I've been using custom perk icons & profile portraits for about 3 years now and never had issue, never had EAC errors etc, some people are even injecting their own custom skins into the game and it's working just fine for them.
Yes, the risk is often considered to be pretty much non-existent. Still, I can't help but feel scared to do it, even if I think it will help me.
However, 3 years is a hell of a long time, and if you never had a single problem there might just be a chance.
-
@bjorksnas said:
Well here's the thing the risk involved is a bureaucratic loop where one side says check the other side to see if its ok, and the other side says check the other side to see ok, they don't seem to care about it and there has been no history of people being banned for modifying perk icons so go for it
just find some fun ones to use, also addon and power packs to exist and you can make your own so just find what you want or make it yourself with only a little bit of practice
I've already found the perfect one, I am just scared of using it, even if the risk is almost non-existent. As you've said, no one has ever been banned for it, but still...
-
@A_Skinny_Legend said:
I wouldn't risk it. Are these perk skins really that much of a gray area? They don't even give an advantage, not that I notice at least.
Think about all the time & money spent, risking it for a moment of nostalgia, I'd rather watch old videos.
Watching old videos is something that I do all the time, I just think that having something in-game could help me a lot. But, as you've said, risking so many hours and money spent is a scary thought.
-
@Pepsidot said:
After some hesitation, I ended up using some custom reskins of perks, addons etc a while ago for about a month.
Despite hearing no one had ever been banned for it, it was always in the back of my mind that there was a slim chance I could be banned.
After about a month the reskins became boring. So I switched back to default. IMO it's just not worth it. You may well soon get bored of them like I did.
I see, that is also a valid point. Getting bored is not a concern, imo, because the pack I've chosen actually was the default in the past. What I am scared of, or better yet, terrified of is getting banned.

The UI icons are not game files, so eac wouldn’t flag you modifying that for an intake advantage. I’ve been using custom icons forever and have never had any issues. They definitely keep the appearance fresh because I can choose from so many different ones.
That is reassuring, I suppose. I really want to do it because I think it will help, but I am so scared. If you've been using it for a long time and never had any problems then maybe there is a chance.

I know how narcissistic this sounds, but I also felt special being an old Freddy main, and actually being damn good with him at red ranks.
With the rework causing a surge in his popularity, I lost that feeling of being special.
Don't worry, my friend, I understand. I never considered myself a good killer, but I can't say I am not proud of some of the matches I've won when playing him.

Just to be clear, I’m not a 100% exclusive Clown main. He’s just the one I deem having the most hours invested, and the most skill (well until recently).
My other mains are Doc & Plague. Freddy used to be one of my mains, having played him since his original release, but I much prefer old Freddy, and got bored of reworked Freddy.
"but I much prefer old Freddy, and got bored of reworked Freddy."
I don't blame you, my friend. I don't blame you.

Surprised to see that I am not the only one who left the Stream disappointed.
The RE Chapter is perfect. No complaints about it.
Their talks about the Realm Beyond interested me none, to be honest. I absolutely despise the Realm Beyond, it wasn't necessary to begin with, it made the maps worse without addressing their actual issues, which weren't many.
But the one thing which annoyed me most was their comment about Freddy. They mentioned him as one of the reworked killers, and how they listen to community feedback when it comes to game health. Like, what? Haven't they seen the amount of backlash? Haven't seen the threads asking for Old Freddy back? That was not pleasant to hear. At all.
Then we get to the anniversary event, which only has one redeeming quality in the form of the community challenges. Everything else is pretty much recycled from last year, which is extremely disappointing.
At this point, I just want to go back. Back to the game which I fell in love with in 2018. If only that was possible, I would do anything.
-
I have no clue... but I am going to guess Canada or USA.

The fastest match I've ever had was against a god-tier Nurse on Grim Pantry, back in early 2019. To say we got destroyed would be an understatement.

It's alright, they're following in the footsteps of every maturing company, like the Microsoft logo, or the Google Chrome logo, & Firefox.
In my opinion, that doesn't exactly mean DBD must do the same and ruin a logo which was good in the first place.
If you played Tetris, you know how this goes: the moment you fit in, is the moment you disappear.
-
So much for "contributing more effort". If they wanted to recycle an event, they could've chosen a different one at least.

Freddy was my first P3, but it took me way too long to get it because I was hesitant to Prestige at first. I had a lot of add-ons and offerings prior to P1, including things from the Moonrise event and Splinters.

To an extent he is a mixture, but covering some of the weirdness of his first build with things that make a bit more sense for the character. Going through each point.
1. Early game is hard, but that is Freddy's entire point. Looking at the perks he comes with its obvious he's meant to build himself up as a terrifying killer. I wanted to try and stick with that theme. (Was thinking of changing the wake up mechanics a bit to reflect this as well but decided I wanted to get feedback first.)
2. The survivors are able to wake themselves up, so it's the same amount of boring as sitting on a gen which is what the complaint is about anyways.
3. Again, survivors can wake themselves up. I removed the alarm clocks cause I thought it took you put the game too much to run across the map and that failing a skill check was a bit too punishing if not annoying, not to mention you cant get skill checks while incapacitated.
4. I did shorten the time by a second from its original timer and wondered if I needed to buff it some more. Its good for freddy to have a way to force people to sleep.
5. Dream Projection is actually really cool, I think it suits Freddy a lot, however it doesnt quite work with the rest of the kit. That said, I could reintroduce it and combine it with Dream Transition, making everyone at the current gen immediately fall asleep. Again these were thought that I was waiting until feedback came in to talk about.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2223546#Comment_2223546
This is also a very nice idea, much more straight forward with its design than mine. Only thing is 40% is way too much imo. Granted you can just fail a skill check but that also feels too punishing.
I think 40% is a good idea. As you know, Old Freddy had a 50% Slowdown, which was a necessity since he did not have a chase power or mobility. Since my idea includes mobility, a fellow user suggested its reduction to 40%.
I think it is a good thing, it encourages survivors to wake up by failing a skill check (which is a good thing for you) and prevents the gen-rush in the Dream World. Not to mention that you can wake up with a teammate's help, which won't alert Freddy and will remove the slowdown.
Besides, fast-paced trials are way too common these days. Perhaps this is a chance to change it.

Yes, but it is worse for the others. Not a fair trade, imo.
-
Well, I don't think this is a topic you should talk about if you don't fully understand it. And, as someone who is not a member of the community, I don't fully understand.
I will, however, say that from an outside point of view, what you are talking about seems to be accurate. There will be bad apples in every community, and it is important to know how to deal with them.
-
I most certainly do not like High Ping, but it is not that unusual for me to get paired with people who seem to be from across the ocean. It is just something that happens, and probably has no connection to Freddy or any other killer for that matter.
