Haddonfield. At least I will hit someone eventually.
-
Oh, nice! I've always wondered why did they remove it. Glad to see it is back.
-
It was not fun...
Ghostface with no perks, no add-ons, on Badham. But hey, I got 1 kill! That is more than enough.
-
Sure :)
-
Yes, I would love to see it, but only if they allowed us to customise the living ######### out of it. I am talking about playing with old powers, on old maps, with old perks, and the list goes on.
Since we will be playing with bots anyway, there is no reason not to give us freedom.
-
Apparently they have already expired. Didn't get to use them, but it is what it is.
-
Well, I am good. I never bring an item to a trial, no matter if it is an event one or not.
-
No, I don't care at all. It is single-player, you are not ruining other people's fun.
-
Well, it was the year of 2018. I was playing Friday the 13th: The Game with a friend. Jason wasn't really doing anything so we just kept talking, and when I asked him about game suggestions he mentioned Dead by Daylight. I bought it 1 month later.

In Myers case they could at least take his tokens into account. I had them all mostly maxed out by the end for crying out loud.
In order to get Adept Myers I used Infinite Tier 3. I don't know how did that work, but it did. Maybe you could give it a try.
-
Ir you had asked this years ago, I would have answered that Regular Play is much better than the PTB. Ever since I first played on a PTB back in 2019, I've seen a sheer amount of toxic survivors and killers genuinely ruining people's experiences and playing as sweaty and as scummy as possible, especially because you could use everything you had without wasting them (such as old insta-heals, for example).
However, this PTB felt so much different then the ones in the past, and I actually had some pretty chill games where I could test everything. Perhaps people's mentality has changed a little bit, or maybe it is because I only played it for 2 days and got lucky. Either way, it was a pleasant experience.

Oh, killer reworks you say? I have one to share: an idea for my main, The Nightmare.
Power: Dream Demon
Pull survivors into the Dream World
-Survivors who are awake do not see The Nightmare.
-Once targeted by The Nightmare’s power, survivors enter the Dream Transition for 7 seconds.
-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see glimpses of The Nightmare and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.
-When the Dream Transition Lapse, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.
Once in the Dream World:
-Survivor’s auras are revealed to The Nightmare when they are outside of his terror radius.
-Survivors suffer an action speed penalty of 40%.
-To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find non-sleeping Survivors to perform a wake up action.
-Failed Generator Skill Checks can also wake up.
-Hooked Survivors wake up.
Special Ability: Dream Projection
-Teleport to a Generator in view. Releasing the button early will cancel the action.
-Survivors cannot interact with the targeted Generator.
-For each Survivor in the Dream World, the cool-down of using Dream Projection is reduced by stack-able 20%.
“You have nothing to worry about. This won’t hurt one… little… bit.” -Freddy Krueger
-
I hope so. It has been way too long since the last one.
-
I most certainly do. It has been way too long since I've last seen a wholesome player :)
-
Yes, I would still play. At this point, I don't think there is something actually capable of making me quit DBD.
-
Well, technically I do but it is not an original concept. It is my idea for a Freddy rework.
Still, if you would like to read it I am more than happy to share:

Hopefully not, but if it works the way they've implied than playing the game will be bannable.

Yeah the only good reworks are Macmillan and Springwood imo. They kept the tone for what a horror should be...after that though they've just been terrible. I remember old Freddy would of been good to have him back like that but with a buff that's for sure.
Well, not really a fan of them but if you like reworked MacMillan and Springwood more power to you. As they say, to each their own.
As for Freddy, that was outrageous to hear. After all of that feedback, all of those threads...not even a word? Why is it so hard to admit that Freddy's rework was a failure and should be reverted?
-
@Phasmamain said:
Survivors don’t get more pull. The devs balance the game as they see fit which is why killer has got many buffs and multiple killers have been reworked to be better
"The devs balance the game as they see fit"
Honestly, this is very disheartening to read.
-
Monto is the best!
-
Well, I am usually more inclined towards killers, but I haven't left the game and never will. If I had to take a wild guess, I would say that they've left because of the current state of the game.
And I am not saying this just because I am currently unhappy with it, but because I doubt anyone genuinely wants to deal with survivors holding W and pre-dropping every single pallet.
-
Nemi is a classic.

Damn, those look sick!
What I truly wanted was the Vintage Perks Pack, but I am scared to get banned.

Yes, it would turn Hex totems for both sides into high risk, high reward perks.
Indeed! And who knows, maybe they would last a little bit longer too.
-
They are pretty much the same thing... but less cool.
-
@Tsulan said:
So this is what some people like me thought should happen to totems: survivor hex totems, that remove a survivor perk when survivors cleanse them.
Oh wait, nevermind, they are clearly distinguishable from normal totems.
That is actually a good suggestion... if they weren't distinguishable.
-
Sure is! There is the opposite, too:
-
Actually, some people out there have some pretty interesting concepts about this:
P.S: Credit goes to... Rascet? Idk, that signature is hard to read...
-
"Am I the only one who thinks the last 3/4 map reworks have just been awful aesthetically for a "horror" game?"
No, you are not. I absolutely despise the Realm Beyond, it wasn't necessary to begin with, it made the maps worse without addressing their actual issues, which weren't many.
But the one thing which annoyed me most was their comment about Freddy. They mentioned him as one of the reworked killers, and how they listen to community feedback when it comes to game health. Like, what? Haven't they seen the amount of backlash? Haven't seen the threads asking for Old Freddy back? That was not pleasant to hear.
The rest was pretty okay-ish, I suppose.

We sure do. Sometimes they even specify how you should die!

From what I've experienced, he is mid-tier at best.

How about you stop and think about how intelligent someone has to be to get a job developing as successful a venture as Dead By Daylight and compare that to the level of sheer idiocy you are implying they possess?
No team this damn successful is ever going to be that stupid as to implement a system that kills their game in a matter of days. That's not ever how it's going to work. The entire point of Dead by Daylight, and every other game any of us have played, is to pump money out of the wallets of its playerbase, and like all successful games it has a team of extremely cunning and manipulative people directing it. Now, whatever your views on the predatory nature of capitalism, you have to admit that the likelihood of a team of professional game developers working in the multiplayer industry and reading (if not interacting with) various forums and communities, let alone the reports and complaints they receive, to take their cash cow out back and slit its proverbial throat with a proverbial blunt and rusted saw whilst chanting "be reborn my child", is so bloody slim that to even mention it is like mentioning you're going to win the lottery.
Yes, but it does not make them perfect.
Remember, we are talking about people who, despite being extremely competent and capable, made several bad decisions throughout the years, with balance related stuff standing proudly on top of the list.
While this is much more severe than balance, it is entirely possible for it to happen and countless innocent players might lose their accounts. That is why everyone has been so vocal about it.

To me, even more heartbreaking than them saying ew at the pride charms was them mocking Puppers.
He had a ######### stroke 5 months ago and lived, and had the confidence to make a public appearance. They have the gall to mock someone 100x the person they will ever be and it ######### shows.
Yes, that was heartbreaking to watch. I have known Puppers for a very long time, thanks to Monto, and he truly is a nice person. Always was, always will be.
Why people would mock him is beyond me. How can someone be so cruel?
-
Perhaps you shouldn't even bother to say "gg", to be honest. I am never toxic in-game or in post-game chat. I never taunt anyone, no matter how they played. What do I get in return?
Someone telling me to burn alive because apparently that is what a Freddy main deserves.
It is not even worth it. Sorry you had to deal with that, my friend, but it is what it is. Some people shouldn't be playing this game, and their actions make it quite clear.
-
To be honest, I can't even remember the last time I used this perk.
-
Only in your Dreams, buddy.
-
And I agree completely, my friend.

I like it because it forces the game to end, so that I don't spend a long time looking for people. I find people who stealth really boring, and this pretty much removes that option for them.
Fair enough. To each their own :)
But you see, I like stealth playstyles. I enjoy it as a survivor and my old main had ways could counter them. It is no surprise that one of us likes the EGC, while the other does not.

You like looking for someone for 10-15 of those minutes? I just don't understand how you enjoy that.
Personal taste is hard to explain, my friend. I just liked it, and can't understand how someone enjoys having a timer to end the game.

"Good ole days"? Games would take 20 minutes to end.
As I've said, highly unpopular opinion. It is alright if you don't agree with me, but I really liked how things were.
And, for someone who doesn't like fast-paced trials, a 20 minutes game is a blessing.

Yeah, we are going straight to Dead by Daylight's heaven. At least we get to see some long lost friends. I wonder how Old Ruin is doing...

I agree i'd love to have this option. Same as having the change to customize the main menu music choosing between one of the past ones since the beginnings!
This is a perfect idea. I already have one in mind. The best one, in my opinion:
Best lobby, best music. Perfection.

Every company in general looks to grow and change with the times. Not just games. But especially games as they update graphics to fit better graphics. As they replace outdated coding, etc etc. No game is going to stay exactly how you left it 3 years ago
Yes, I know. That is why I think my own opinion is weird, but I can't help it. I just... wish some of us could continue playing without those changes.
Though how, I cannot say.
-
I hope not, but it might be possible. People who main Spirit, Freddy, Twins and Hag are bound to get banned if this becomes a thing.

@BrokenSouI said:

Ok. But what don't you like ?
What the future has in store for us. Not in terms of new content, but in terms of what we already have.
The Realm Beyond, reworked character models, reworked animations... I don't want any of it. And I know it sounds weird I know it does not sound right, but if I could I honestly would return to a past version of the game and just stay there.
Once again I've left a dev Stream low key disappointed, though I am the one to blame for that. And after that I proceeded to start the PTB, try to enjoy the game. A game which I will always hold close to my heart, but that with every change strays further away from the game that I fell in love with back in 2018. It disheartens me.
-
Ah my friend I wish, I truly wish, I could say the same...
-
Thank you, my friend. You truly are a hero.
