Oh, come on, Orion. Who is the one killer that I desperately want to see again? The killer that I mention at every opportunity I can?
I will give you a hint:
“You have nothing to worry about. This won’t hurt one… little… bit.”

If I were to guess YOUR reasoning...
it's because old Freddy is still dead.
Not quite.
Yes, Old Freddy is extremely important and I don't even have words to express how much I want him to return.
However, his absence isn't enough to completely ruin the game. Take Patch 3.1.0, for example: that patch was Freddy's rework, I was playing right when it dropped and even the faintest memory of that day makes me sad.
Was that the worst possible state? No.
Because even though Freddy had been ruined, everything else was still there. The maps, the old HUD, the old animations, Splinters, Old Ruin, Old Billy, Old Doctor, Old Cannibal, and the list goes on.
What makes current DBD the absolute worst state possible, in my honest opinion, is the fact that it doesn't even look like the game that I fell in love with back in 2018.
-
It is kinda obvious what I've asked for.

I like to think of perks that are thematic to the killer or survivor I'm playing and try to find a way to incorporate them
Same.
I used to "explain" using Brutal Strength on Freddy because of how powerful he is in the Dream World, for example.
-
I agree, though not for the same reason.
-
Everyone is hoping that this is fake, otherwise it will be very disappointing.
As I've said on a different thread, I've been unhappy with BHVR's decisions since 2019. Everything they have done and changed ruined the game for me.
But NFTs? This is a whole different level.
-
My biggest gameplay achievement was a Dream Transition into a Hatch Grab, without using any add-ons to make the Transition shorter.
I did it in early-2019, prior to the Moonrise event, and it was such a precise timing that I couldn't believe it had actually worked.
A pity that it cannot be replicated.
-
I think Freddy should stay in the A Tier...just in the bottom of said tier.
-
This is confusing and disappointing at the same time.
I have been unhappy with BHVR's decisions since 2019, but this...this is a whole new level.
-
Something for Freddy. Something good.
-
I can help you guys with this.
In the original movies, Freddy was a child murderer, but he always supposed to be a pedophile. Wes Craven changed it last second due to a high-profile investigation that was happening at the time, which involved many cases of pedophilia in California.
In the remake, Freddy is a pedophile, but he was originally supposed to be innocent. The film would constantly make us wonder whether he was guilty or not, only to reveal that he wasn't. This was changed at some point prior to the remake's release for unknown reasons.
And there you have it!
-
If it is not fun, then it has already failed.
As expected.

Can I come too. I need to have a talk to myself.
And don't worry the shotgun is just for cosmetics choices
@Pulsar Get ready.
We are going back to the golden days. Back to 2018!

I need a DeLorean then, I think I'm in the wrong timeline.
Please let me join you. I need to go back to 2018.
-
Though I disagree with those changes, as I have from the very beginning, I doubt she will just disappear. Spirit is far too popular.
-
"The old pipping system was better than this, god."
Always has been.
-
I played both sides, actually. Enjoyed every aspect of the Dead by Daylight's experience while I could.
-
I had to look Hex: Plaything up because I had absolutely no idea this perk even existed.
But now that I do, I think this is indeed a great combo.

All Seeing blood has been reduced to 8m from 12m. His post uncloak lunge has been reduced to 1s from 1.25s.
Oh...
It sounds...kinda fair with his base-speed right now, but I don't even know anymore.
I am out of touch.
-
Wraith got nerfed?
-
In a way, I know how you are feeling.
For very different reasons, DBD was not fun for me anymore and I had to leave.
-
I used to with something along the lines of Old Ruin, BBQ, PWYF and M&A, paired with Red Paint Brush and Paint Thinner.
Fun times which were sadly reduced to memories of a bygone era.
-
Well, I don't think Hawkins is a well-designed map. Actually, I think Temple of Purgation was the last good map to be released.
However...it provided us with many good memories and interesting moments.
So yes, I will miss it.
-
I don't know.
The game never felt stale to me...it just felt bad. DBD looks nothing like the game I fell in love with back in 2018, so I left.
Not sure what I do if the game started to feel stale while I was still playing it.

Well, that one at least makes sense.
How dare you!?
-
Freddy is still strong if you know how to play him efficiently, but the problem is that he is just...boring. Uninteresting.
Why BHVR hasn't brought Freddy's on-release version back yet, who had a perfect design, is a mystery to me.

Idk... Camping and tunneling wasn't really reduced in the games I played. 🤨
Edit: Undying was broken as well on killers like Spirit, Blight, Nurse, etc.
Unlucky.
-
Anything that is done with the sole purpouse of annoying the other side.
-
I don't.

Actually in my experience the amount of tunneling and camping increased by a large margin. Especially to try and get people out at 5 gens.
Unlucky.
-
At the very least, Undying reduced the amount of camping and tunneling for most of the community and gave survivors an actual reason to go after totems.
MoM was just plain broken.
There is a difference.

I miss having to wait 12 seconds to hit a survivor
7. And that could be reduced.

OHHHHHHHH!!! Y’all mean Vanilla Freddy!! Holy Crap I forgot that was a thing lmao!!! Damn OP went far back! My mistake! Thats when he could always see you in the dream world…oof don’t miss that one either. Still a “hell no” lol.
That is disappointing, but I respect your opinion.

And what is that?
I mean, it feels wrong.
-
@KerJuice said:
Hell no. Honestly, I feel like Freddy’s nerfs are a placebo. He’s still a very strong and annoying killer in the right hands. His add-ons weren’t his greatest strength- it’s the perks you give him. He has one of the best map control in the game, and if you combo that with gen regression & info perks, he’s a force to be reckoned with.
He is talking about his old power, not his recent nerf and pre-nerf version.
-
Despite knowing exactly how you feel, there is something wrong about seeing you saying this...

I sometimes cry at night when I remember some of us will never experience the level of love and devotion Old Freddy and GeneralV have.
Old Freddy truly meant the world for me in DBD. Always will.
-
I do.
More than anyone does.
More than anyone ever will.
-
Sure, they can go to a new game...if they leave every version of the old game playable.
Then yes, I would support.
-
This has happened since the maps's release, actually.
I like it.
-
Silent Hill, by a very long shot.
-
I first started playing DBD during the Winter Solstice event in 2018. That event means a lot to me...
Mark my words: if it comes back this year, I will temporarily come back to the Fog only to experience it again.
-
Uhhh, most of them don't tho...
-
Yes, PLEASE!
-
2 vs 6 survivors would be nice, in my opinion.
-
Dead Dawg Saloon begs to differ.
-
I already have.
I first started playing DBD around Legion's release in 2018. I loved everything about the game, from the old maps to killers and survivors...everything you can think of. Back then, DBD provided me with a level of enjoyment that no other game could. Old DBD was, is, and always will be my all-time favorite game.
The reworks killed DBD piece by piece for me, and even then I tried to stick around by clinging to the love that I fell for what the game once was...but I couldn't. It wasn't enough. If DBD no longer is the same game that I fell in love with back in 2018, then I have no reason to stay.
I wish things could've ended differently. Perhaps, one day, there will be a reason for me to return. Perhaps they will revert the maps, or a rework or two.
Perhaps the Fog will call for me once again.

If my wish for time to rewind to back when I was 11 years old and keeping all of the knowledge I have until now intact ever comes true, I’ll make sure to invest in Apple and BitCoin and purchase Behavior and hire you on as the games director.
I...I am flattered, my dear friend. I do not deserve such kindness.
Now I sincerely hope your wish comes true.
