No they can't. You seem to already know that though.

I've noticed that in almost every single match, while waiting in a lobby there is one person who will not ready up. Gotta wait out the whole minute.
I can understand a last minute item or character switch. But the majority of the time that doesn't happen.
I get bathroom or snack breaks or whatever while waiting. But even with near instant survivor ques, it is still happening.
It annoys me more than it should to be honest. Just wondering if there's some kind of reason.
Once in awhile no big deal, but every single game? Just hit the button lol!
They're smoking stuff and things.

The best bug in the all history of the game. Great times AHHAHAH
One time I got stuck in the hill and my friend brought the killer to me. The killer hit me, sending me out of the hill, and then the killer was stuck in the hill instead. We had so much fun with that.

I don't understand this poster either. They're very incoherent. They've been suspended or something now, so I guess they're also problematic. Best to avoid them.
I assumed they were using some sort of translation program and that english wasn't their native language. Who knows though?

I dunno what you guys are all talking about. Yeah, soloQ is apparently the hard mode of the game, but queue times are so fast that if I get tunnelled and camped I am just back inc the next game within 2min. And contrary to most stories here, I don't get camped every single game, nor 5 games in a row and while I got a decent number of awful survivor buddies,I don't get hook-suiciders and DCers every match, either.
I am having an fun in soloQ and at least my game are not half as and as anyone else's commenting here. But maybe that's just different perception due to different expectations? I don't expect to escape every game. Often enough I get caught and sacrificed at the last gen, but that game was still fun and I walk out with 22k BP or something, so I would count that as a good game, while others might be sad and downtrodden, calling the game utter crap.
I'm getting into so many games where players can't even do skill checks. It's awful.

That's true enough. On the other end of the spectrum, I've been making rift challenges my main source of fun solely BECAUSE I've been stuck with teammates who don't play well. The alternative is massive frustration lol.
That is exactly where my brain went today. I was thinking that maybe I could just concentrate on rift challenges for fun, unless I end up with a good team.
-
I think it would be cool if they could pull off something like the game Darwin Project, in the sense that theres a director role, which would be the killer role. Then maybe have the survivors go through a deadly obstacle course (like in the Saw movies) that the killer controls.

If I've learned anything, it's to never take what BVHR says at face value. I wish I could find it but on Reddit about 3 or 4 years back, there was a dev stream where they couldn't even down one survivor on an SWF team. I haven't seen a stream in a while but I was shocked by how bad some of them are at the game. If anyone doesn't know how to properly play, it's them.
😮😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😭

I get where you're coming from, but there's no one right way to play the game to begin with. The devs have stated as much by saying DBD is more akin to a party game than a competitive e-sport.
To some, rift challenges are more fun than "playing the game."
I can see those aspects.

I hear you loud and clear.

Rift challenges are one of the worst inclusions in the game. Sure, it's nice to earn bonus points, but it causes people to play in a way they normally wouldn't to fulfill some stupid and arbitrary task. The worst case is they outright tank the game. Dailies at least require an aspect of normal game functions.
100% agree.
-
Dbd is like going to a terrible dance club now.
-
It is pay to win.
-
I honestly feel like people didn't give RPD a fair chance. I hated RPD the first couple of times I played it. Once I started figuring out the layout I thought it was a lot of fun, regardless of what role I played on it.
A Twitch streamer probably dislikes the map and all of their followers probably agree so they can fit in.
-
I like RPD. Majority wins though and thats why everything is boring.

The difference between solo and SWF survivors, are night and day.
Needs to be changes regarding this system or game is going to die. Solo atm is basically unplayable because most rando-survivors as you say, do in fact play like crap.
More information would help, which isn't a bad thing.
They might not actially be playing like crap. They may have spent money on the 'battle pass' and they might be doing rift challenges to unlock cosmetics. Which doesn't require that you play the game how it is intended to be played
-
Honestly, the way to help solo survivors would be to eliminate daily challenges and eliminate the rift challenges. That way the onky objective left would be escaping.
The challenges help divide the objectives that each individual is focusing on.
For example, Johnnies build relies on boons for healing while Sally has to cleanse totems. How do John and Sally work together, through lack of communication, when their objectives contradict one another?
I'm not personally opposed to challenges/achievements, but people aren't able to iron out certain details without pregame communication. Therefor, it appears that challenges impede uncommunicative gameplay by offering alternative challenges which might handicap other players.
-
The onky answer is to stop playing.
-
It is awful. It makes the game feel hollow and pointless. The bloodweb didn't used to feel like a chore, to me. Once you get all of the perks, the bloodweb feels like a bad thrift store full of crappy useless junk.

What does that have to do with dbd other than trying to get a pointless argument and/or piss people off?
Uh... what? I play dbd with my cousin nearly every night. We discuss the lack of little people in video games regularly. Im sorry that offends you and everyone else. So I shouldn't mention that because it offends people? That is sad.

Some players go out of their way to just be the biggest ######### possible - queueing with their friends and teabagging all game long is weirdly contended as "okay". But there's no way that communicating like this in end-game chat should be tolerated by any serious devs or even communiity. Or are they likely already banned and playing on hacked alts with their private "60 hour" accounts?
Yes I've sadly had to censor the names, I've been in trouble with the forum mods for not before. Which I still think is dumb, but that's another matter (honestly, people should be given the tools to avoid being exposed to people like this).
Imagine playing survivor and having 2 other survivors teabag you while they lead the killer to you and the killer never touches them, but tunnels you. Then imagine both of those survivors having TTV at the end of their gamer tags. Then imagine going to their streams on Twitch and realizing they only have around 5 viewers each. I don't want to brag, but that happened to me.

If that happens again record it and report them. That is against the rules.
Thats a lot of player responsibility that nobody actually wants. I just want to play a game. I don't want to be part of the game. It's almost as if they created something that the player base has to police on their own. After we gave them money. Furthermore, theyre always too busy to respond.

What is an " Otz"?
-
I kill everyone who doesn't ready up.

I was going to play dbd tonight, but the forum is actually more fun right now.

I asked her to marry me but then she murdered me.

You can play nice. Don't kill anyone. Easy.
-
I miss getting stuck inside rocks.
-
Most forum members are terrible.
-
Oh yeah, just teach them how to play better by not killing yourself on the hook. Thats the advice I was given on this topic.
-
The bloodweb becomes tedious once you have all of the available perks. Takes longer to proc the entity.
-
Play killer and treat the survivors how you would liie to be treated. It's fun.

so let's just set this clear. nobody is gonna complain about camping since reassurance is a thing right?
ur not gonna come here and complain that your teammates aren't running it or u got camped by survivors with it
RIGHT??
in all seriousness im glad they made it, i never was a camper the only time i would camp is in end game collapse with zero hooks, but im glad survivors got a bit of help and a major fix to a problem that existed for years
Edit : you guys are never satisfied with anything
I will complain if you ask nicely.

Play survivor.

Nothing is required. If you want to use it then use it. If you don't want to use it then don't use it. 'Meta' is a word for 12 year olds.

How about because people do give up early? The players can't properly judge whether a match can still result in one or more of them escaping, the killers do make mistakes too, you know?
If you're not willing to give it your all, then get back to your hideout in SWF and give up there, but don't try that on players whom you don't know! Or, would you really prefer if I'd have outright called you out and made attempts to offend you right-away? This is a team based game on survivor side, you can't just call it off whenever you want to; That's incredibly selfish and ruins the entire match for both sides!
If perks are the reason, then don't play the game, get back to singleplayer games, so you won't ruin them to players, who're not giving up whenever things aren't going their way.
It's not about gameplay or the result, it's about principle. I can't say, I've expected so many people to miss the point.. I sure didn't expect to hit the nail on the head right-away.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3129334#Comment_3129334
As long as there's, at least, one other survivor who ain't trying to ruin it and actually plays the game as intended, don't give up and do the same. However, the moment everybody is sabotaging each other (it has to be absolutely clear, you do gotta think about it from multiple perspectives), then that's when I'd accept giving up as a valid solution.
Well that's what I'm talking about.

Freedom here has certain restrictions. You don't get to troll, grief, hack and there shouldn't be such an easy way to completely ruin games without penalty.
I'd love to see BHVR track hook suicides and start penalizing people who do it excessively.

There are dozens of free VPNs with enough monthly data to play DbD and then some. Although, if you're that worried, you've got way bigger things to worry about online.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3126409#Comment_3126409
By giving them a chance to play the match out, and not deliberately sabotaging the match?
So what do you do when you get into a match where 1-3 players are working with the killer to tunnel you? Stay in the match, invite them to a party and teach them how to play better? Do you stay in games where other survivors unhook spam you in front of the killer? Sometimes the fun thst other people are having is the fact that I stay in the game and try to outwit them, but sometimes I don't feel like doing that.

It shows the character of people when things get tough or they don't get their way they simply give up. Why even play if your just going to give up continually your just a selfish player....Anyhow I do not know why your so mad and so entitled but after reading so many of your responses you just seem to be a very angry person that should actually take a break from the game if it is causing you to be so mad all the time.
I guess it is rude to die on the hook while two twitch streamers are teabagging each other in a corner and proceed to farm with the killer after i die.
-
Maybe the real issue with dbd is that a bunch of little kids are playing a game that is made for adults.
-
It's interesting how much people assume things in this game. It really sheds light on the fact that most of the players are little kids. Which is probably why so many people have fits in the game and on the forums.
-
Maybe they didn't dc on purpose.
-
Yeah this game kind of sucks now.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3125298#Comment_3125298
In certain, vanishingly rare cases, it can be more beneficial for the team to let someone hit stage two.
For example - killer is proxying, you're all on gens that are pretty close and the person who went to unhook is being chased.
You wanna pay for my vpn? It's easier to not play than follow all of these suggestions.

One thing you have to keep in mind if you get matched with new players is at one point you were new to the game and possibly doing the same thing or something else till you learnt better, teach them in the match even if you don't escape be the better person and not ######### try and help the new players.
When i play killer if i feel like i have come across a new player i'll ease up on them and let them learn the game a bit even do more chases with them so they start to learn how to loop, why do i do that because i know at one point i was new to the game and had to learn everything and it sucked when a killer just got you out of the match asap.
How does a soloQ survivor teach other soloQ survivors to play better? Theres no voice communication. I understand and ageee with what you are saying, but this game doesn't really offer the option to communicate with others unless you invite them to a party and the majority of soloQ players don't join parties.

Mmm, such cases are easily understandable. Luckily, they don't happen frequently.
I haven't played in a couple weeks bc that kept happening to me. After the last update it seemed like the game got really goofy. Ppl were doing the weirdest things.
