That’s an interesting concept. I like how players in the community have better ideas than the devs.

“Let us work on gens with DS”
You sound entitled af and obviously can’t play without it.

From my experience about 60 to 75% of spirits run it.
Yeah I understand. Pretty much when I play survivor, I can’t remember the last time I played against a Spirit without Stridor.

Stereotypes:
Freddy - On average running 3.5 slowdown perks, and at least one slowdown addon.
Leatherface - Thinks Facecamping is funny. Probably running insidious. Will only use M1 if they keep bumping into stuff.
Pig - A good one knows Booping the Snoot is funny, and appreciates it. The toxic ones will tunnel anyone with a trap on their head.
Plague - Probably running infectious Fright. Will almost NEVER use their M1 to injure survivors, even when they're half a meter in front of them.
Deathslinger - Most likely running A Nurse's Calling and Monitor and Abuse. Most likely won't go too far from the hook.
Demogorgon - Will either be godlike with their teleports, or be run around like a cartoon cat chasing a cartoon mouse.
Spirit - Probably running Stridor. Rarely wears the default outfit unless they're new.
I must be on the minority because I never run Stridor on Spirit. You are right about me never wearing the default skin tho.

I don’t judge worry
I even told Oni, her ancestor, I was committed to Spirit to get his approval if I can ask her to marry me lol.
-
Fun fact: I’m a Spirit main and oddly enough have a longer winning streak with Nurse than with Spirit atm. I’m trying to get good with Nurse so it’s safe to assume the reason I main Spirit is the second reason 😳
-
The fact the devs left all those bugs Nurse has in is enough for me.
-
I’m bias towards my waifu
-
Honestly Sabatuer shouldn’t have a cooldown. It’s not a great perk for what it does, the cooldown just makes it worse. Self-care does the same thing that an item does without a cooldown, so why does Sabatuer?
-
Because I suck with Nurse and can’t play without that add on.

Oh my god I tried spirit because of this thread. This is amazing. Look at their perks, object of obsession, two decisive strikes, dead hard. They're complaining to me for wrecking them on my second Spirit match.
Mmmmm those sweaty survivor tears taste so good.
Thanks for the tip JPA.
Feels good to get a reaction out of entitled brats doesn’t it?

Spirit can get longer phase duration if we're aware of what she's doing. And Freddy can have something to make survivors weaker awake.
That could work. I’m also thinking Spirit should always have a 10 second cool down for her power regardless of how long she used it. This will make short bursts more punishing and getting around the map more effectively.
-
You want Spirit and Freddy nerfed but are you offering for buffs to compensate?

you’re probably a god compared to most the megheads I’ve seen tbh
My survivor gameplay is always either playing like a god or playing completely terrible. There is no in-between for me 🤣
-
Hey I'm a Meghead :(
-
Dead Hard is a serious problem. It is way too frustrating as a killer to make the right read against a survivor but they correct it by pressing one button. I'm not sure what they can do with Dead Hard without making it useless but it might need a ground-up rework.
-
I think it’ll be fine now. I might even run it to protect myself from tunneling.
-
Thanks to everyone for the tips. It’s pretty interesting that dedicated servers really screws her over.
-
Spirit is a nice girl that just wanted to live a happy life. She’d show mercy in a heartbeat.
-
I honestly can’t take you seriously if you think Pig is OP.
-
I'm a Meghead

Dead Hard: crutch
Sprint Burst: plain annoying
Balanced Landing: I love this perk so much, it's saved me from many situations where I would be dead otherwise

I see more posts complaining about people crying about the nerf than actual people crying about the nerf.
I’m not complaining, I’m just making a point.
-
I’m sorry for tunneling you off of generators doing what a killer is supposed to do.
-
I can’t stand playing as or against Hag
-
"Are you American?"
######### kinda stupid question is that?
-
I see nothing but facts here. "Nerf BBQ" posts are so cringey and their points don't make sense. I remember one time on Otz's stream, someone had the guts to say "So BBQ is fine but Object isn't" sarcastically of course. It amazes me how survivors want everything on the killer side to be nerfed to the ground. Current Object (I'm so glad it's getting changed) has many issues because the killers can't really counter it except tunneling the guy to death, while as you said, BBQ has plenty of counterplay. Also, BBQ encourages non-camping so is there anything that'll satisfy survivors?
-
Huntress
Huntress' Lullaby might be her best, which is a shame because it is terrible at high level. The requirements to get max value out of this perk are almost the same as Devour Hope but the reward you get from Lullaby doesn't even compare to the reward you get from Devour. Why would anyone ever not run Devour Hope over Huntress' Lullaby?
Territorial Imperative is soooooooooo situational it is not even funny.
Beast of Prey is literally just on there to make you feel like a 3-perk killer. Like, how in the hell did BHVR come up with this piece of #########?
-
In terms of which perk I run a lot, definitely Whispers. With most killers, I just can’t play without this perk. BBQ is definitely up there because of the bloodpoints and the information it gives.
Devour Hope has gotta be the most fun to use perk. When that totem is up, it can get so out of hand but the risk reward it provides is why I love it so much. Can’t wait til Undying’s nerf so I can use it with Devour Hope.
-
Spirit keeps me going. I can just never get bored of her.
-
Yeah, I agree. I care about DBD a lot and it warms my heart that the devs are listening to the community. The game is far from perfect but I feel like DBD is going uphill. Their job is way harder than any of us can imagine. All we need to do is be more patient but still keep giving them feedback.

"The Oni is too OP plz nerf. He has white hair meaning he must be old so every time he instantly downs a survivor he should have a 30 second stun period where he recovers since he should have osteoporosis. After about 10 seconds of using demon dash, he should be immediately killed after having a heart attack to give the survivors a chance to escape. It isn't fair how a killer can use his insta-down potential in his power to insta-down survivors."
You might as well just delete Oni or gut him completely with your suggested change.
😂😂😂

Umm...what?
-
Eh, I think it won’t be that bad. I certainly won’t feel the need the need to shame DS+Unbreakable users anymore.

Funny thing you wrote this post just a few hours after DS and OoO changes were announced.
Wait is that so? I had no idea, now I feel like an idiot lol.
-
I would’ve been fine with Undying getting nerfed if they would’ve nerfed DS and Object to compensate. But you know BHVR needs to protect their precious survivors.

So, before DBD, I have played a lot of FNAF, Escapists, Minecraft, and Geometry Dash. I needed a new game to play. I was browsing Steam on June 1, 2020 for horror type games. I was navigating the reviews for a lot of games with DBD being one of them. After doing enough research, DBD seemed good so I decided buy it.
I bought the game on June 1, 2020, but I didn’t play my first match until the day after. I was scared and had no idea what I was doing. I always had “hold W” mentality. It took me a while to actually escape a trial. I had to at least play 30 matches before I actually escaped. I specifically remember my first ever escape was at Lery’s. I barely played killer my first month. I didn’t get my first 4k until July 9 at Gas Heaven with Wraith. Like I said, all I did was play survivor.
I eventually got DBD mobile some time in July. I played both PC and mobile from time to time, but I played mobile more because my old PC wasn’t very good and frames were dropping like crazy. Thankfully I got a gaming PC recently and it’s much easier to play on it.
It took me a while to figure out who my killer main would be. I played a lot of Wraith and Trapper when I was new. On the mobile version in August, I had enough shards to buy a killer. After watching gameplay from content creators, I decided to buy Spirit as she looked like a lot of fun to play. After buying her, I non-stop played her. I pretty much fell in love with her and mained her since then.
That’s my backstory from my first two months of DBD.
-
DS needs a rework badly. It does stop anti-tunneling, but it’s also incredibly frustrating for killers that didn’t even tunnel, or you could say they “tunneled them off gens.”
Unbreakable is fine imo. It can be annoying but it’s situational with an incredibly strong effect.
Soul Guard to me is a horribly designed perk. It’s not that great by itself but is super annoying with DS and Unbreakable. Soul Guard needs a ground up rework imo.

Deathslinger is probably the most complicated killer to fix. I feel like giving him a windup time makes him almost exactly like Huntress with only one shot before he needs to reload. You can’t really fix him without doing that. Changing him in the right way would be so hard to do that it might just be better to leave him the way he is.
A fix to Spirit, Hag, and Pyramid Head, even if they’re just as oppressive as Deathslinger, would be much more simple. All Spirit needs is an indicator she’s phasing, Pyramid Head just needs a little window of time between picking his sword up and being able to M1, and Hag just needs to be prevented from placing traps around the hook. Deathslinger just can’t be fixed imo.
-
Midwich is a licensed map like Haddonfield, so I'm sure it will be a hassle to get it fixed.
-
So Spirit can see survivors while she’s phasewalking? That doesn’t sound like a good idea. Yes the survivors can see her as well but she moves almost twice as fast as survivors while she has compete control of her movement. You’d have to make her movement janky a little with a fatigue to make that mechanic fair but that’ll just make her another Billy/Oni/Blight/Nurse gimmick, which we don’t need more clones of other killers. So, this won’t work. Besides, that’s missing the whole purpose of what Spirit is supposed to be. She needs to be invisible because she’s a ghost.
Flicker mechanic sounds interesting, but it sounds like it’ll be a little too complicated to implement. I feel like a lot of people keep overthinking when brainstorming a Spirit fix. All she needs is a vague indicator she’s phasing with a power recovery speed of around 10 or maybe 12 seconds regardless of how long she was in phase.
-
I don't exactly remember but my first survivor match I was David King at either Ironworks of Misery or Groaning Storhouse (I remember specifically it being at MacMillan). I was pretty terrified and died rather quickly. Honestly those days when I was a baby survivor and killer were my favorite DBD days. I actually felt scared and having no idea what the killers do. The only killers I knew coming in were Myers, Ghost Face, and Freddy because I've watched all their movies.
-
I'm pretty much on OhTofu's streams almost every day and always watch his YouTube videos.
-
All they need to do with her is give her some sort of indication she’s using her ability and make her cool down for her power always 10 seconds no matter how long she used it to keep her from spamming short bursts. Buff a few other aspects of her and she’ll be fine.
I think a lot of survivors that complain about her are used to having control in chases against most killers in the roster. Spirit needs to have control but the survivors don’t need to feel completely helpless either. People need to realize the game is a 4v1 and if a singular survivor is just as powerful as the killer, the survivors will literally win every match. People want Spirit “nerfed to the ground” which is not fair in the slightest.
I remember OhTofu said in one of his streams that Spirit needs a ground up rework where her power is a completely different concept because he needs to feel like he’s “outplaying” survivors when he plays her. There’s 3 things wrong with that statement. 1) He plays a lot of Deathslinger and are you really outplaying survivors with how quick his harpoon gun is? 2) What if her new power was very janky and frustrating to play. That’s not fair to Spirit mains like me because I love her current power. It’s a lot of fun. 3) Just give her an indication that she’s phasing and you’ll be able to outplay survivors? It’s not that hard to comprehend.
-
Just ignore them. No need to let people you don't know ruin your experience. People that find it okay to bully players that just had one bad match usually don't have a life.
