A long time ago, I made a thread about naming one thing you loved about DBD. Consider this the 2.0 version.
With all of the negativity surrounding the Trickster and other recent events, I figured it may be a nice change of pace to see what people truly love about the game, instead of hearing what they dislike. Consider it a way to spread some positivity for a change :)
I'll start:
I love how happy GhostFace looks when he t-bags and his sigh. Every time I hear it I think of this video. He sounds like a disappointed dad 😂

Too bad Spirit is still awful to go against even with that build because I’d rather outplay than outperk.

Constant hearing of where she is though is stronger than glimpses.
I think if the audio was inconsistent enough, then it could work.
-
I like the idea of giving her glimpses of her current location, but I feel like that could be too strong for survivors or not enough depending on many situations. For instance, if you’re on one of those loops at Autohaven where you could see over, the survivors will be able to see where exactly she is, but if you’re at shack or any tile with large walls, you won’t be able to see glimpses if she knows how to hide them.
It would certainly make her more bearable to play against but I feel like directional audio can give fair mind games for both sides at almost every tiles.
As someone who has played a lot of Spirit, she’s in desperate need of a change and I’m glad to see people brainstorming ideas for her.

Top favorite:
- Spirit (it’s been like that for a while because I love her but I’ve been driven away from her lately because reasons)
- Pig
- Blight
- Myers
- Hillbilly
Least favorite:
- Hag
- Freddy
- Bubba
- Twins
- Deathslinger

I feel like it would make her too week and exactly like Trapper.

I have seen so many countless threads about NOED, and what surprises me is I don't see rancor getting any complaints. I think one of the reasons is it only affects the obsession and not the entire team. If I died to rancor that would probably annoy me more than NOED especially if I did a good job evading the killer and not getting hooked.
This isn't a perk that can be deactivated so my question is when you're playing survivor and you're exposed, how do you play around it??
One other thing that makes that weird is that Rancor is a Spirit perk and everyone ######### hates Spirit lmao.

I just got tunneled all game against a pig.
She threw the entire match to tunnel me. When all gens got done I lost her 2 times and searched two boxes but with no luck.
Then she found me at the third box and just slugged me. My team got me up, I tried to search the box (only had like 20 seconds left before the timer ends anyway) but she kept coming back and slug me. I unbreakabled and ran out the exit because the team wasn't leaving so I can look for hatch at least. And then I died.
This is such an unfair mechanic.
Traps are meant to STALL the game when gens are still there. The traps should deactivate when you try to go through an exit because right now they are a very exploitable mechanic with no counterplay.
Pls no
-
There is a made up rule book killers made as well. You’re not allowed to gen rush, run BT, or bring items. Survivors have done the same thing, because no NOED, no camping, no tunneling, or no slugging.
Both sides are full of entitlement, it’s not fair to say that one side is perfect and doesn’t complain.
-
Just think about how long it takes for Myers to get going in a match. He’s so slow in tier 1 and it takes a bit to level up if survivors are attentive.
Also, just think about other killers that start off slow and get their power which is meant to be very scary. There’s Oni who can zoom across the whole map and Plague that has an insane ranged attack. Myers just has insta downs but is still an M1 killer. He can vault windows faster in tier 3 but it’s not really that convincing.

@Dizzy1096 said:
Spirit. Has a fair chance of actually getting a hit at loops, does not rely on the other side making mistakes to get hit. Has mobility and chase potential but also has a cooldown to keep it balanced.
As someone that has put the most hours into Spirit out of all killers, this is completely false.

Oh ######### I totally forgot about that video. Having Sloppy and Nurse’s on Plague made me think he went crazy at first lol.

We all know who's the best and such Otzdarva Trapper, Stalky Boi Myers, Umbra Huntress, Super Alf Nurse, ScottJund Blight. But who seems to struggle with who? Can someone give examples. I've seen Tru3 struggle with Clown. And OhTofu with Legion.
I watch OhTofu the most out of all content creators and from my experience watching him, Plague is the one he struggles with the most.

How does any of this prove that Nurse isn’t hard?

Same. WGLF and BBQ can, basically, cut the grind in half and that is amazing. Besides, no slugging allowed.
I’m gonna need a lot of bloodpoints for my new main, Yui, and those two perks are gonna help me a lot.

Survivor:
1- Adrenaline
2- WGLF
3- Sprint Burst
4- Borrowed Time
Killer:

I can’t get enough of WGLF. I can’t ever take it off.

Survivor perks:
- We’re Gonna Live Forever
- Prove Thyself
- Deception
- Head On
- Quick and Quiet
Killer perks:
- BBQ and Chili
- Devour Hope
- Whispers
- Dark Devotion
- Corrupt Intervention

Yui for survivor.
Spirit for killer I guess? I’ve been kind of drawn away from her as of late for obvious reasons.
-
My advice is to run Sloppy Butcher. You want to keep people injured as much as possible because that’s where Victor excels the most when it comes to snowballing. You’ll be slugging a lot so Deerstalker or Nurse’s Calling are two great choices.
For add ons, I think pounce charge time are the ones that are the most important.
Also, it pains me to say this, but if you want to get good with Twins, you have to proxy camp and tunnel because they are so good at that and it’s the only way to really win with them against good teams. It’s not the player’s fault it’s just the design of the killer.
-
The Game literally earned it’s place in my top 3 least favorite maps in terms of gameplay. Still debating the order of the top 3 as I also have Haddonfield and Midwich.

Brown toolboxes are the most unfair thing in the game, takes no skill to use and not even Nurse can defeat it.

Honestly can’t blame you. Have fun on your break.

@Phasmamain said:
I’ll say what I always say that spirit and nurse in their current state are a hinderance to killer balance due to how much better they are than even the 3rd best
Both need serious changes especially nurse
I pretty much agree. Hag is third best, then no one competes with Nurse or Spirit. The devs really need to rebalance these killers because of this new MMR system. Nurse or Spirit 99% of the time at high level, which will eventually cause a drop in survivor players and a long ass que time for killers.
-
@M1MASTER said:
You main Spirit but you complain that she's unfun to play against...
Why do you think that nobody plays the "fun" killers like Billy? Because Spirit, Freddy and Pyramid exist which are way easier to play and stronger. Why would your average gamer who wants to win play anything else other than them.
Because people need to get good. I may main Spirit because I really love her character, but I also play a ton of Blight who is waaay harder, because I would like to have a challenge to overcome. Spirit is just too easy for how strong she is and that’s an issue and it’s kind of drawn me away from Spirit recently.
I’m not asking for Spirit or Nurse to get nerfed to the ground, I just want them rebalanced and more in line with other killers in terms of strength and counterplay. Mastering either one is a 4k almost every game.

Sounds like salt to me

See I don't mind nurse or spirt as much as oni oni needs nerfed I have slugged everyone with him in seconds I had to let people wiggle free to make the match fair
That's one match. The survivors shouldn't really be grouped up like that anyway, so that's on them.

People ask for nerfs to him for some reason right? Devs informed Freddy will have some changes and I hope it makes Freddy players use at least some brain cells.
There's a Nurse level that requires you constant map awareness and muscle memory to do well with her and there's Freddy level that requires literally no work for his reward.
I feel like it does take skill to play Freddy. Using teleports mid-chase is actually a challenging thing to do, which is something that Freddy players can learn and improve their gameplay with him.
-
@GeneralV said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2038466#Comment_2038466
Yeah, maybe some form of counterplay is a good change... as long as they don't gut her, of course.
"but I hope the devs take good care of him in his upcoming nerf :)"
I appreciate the optimism, but we both know they won't. I am afraid Freddy is going to get the "Billy treatment", or even worse.
I wouldn't worry about it. It is hard to trust the devs but it's always good to keep positive thoughts while still preparing for the worst. I don't see it being that major of a nerf but we'll see.

@OrangeJack said:
This is true but those two killers are the only ones that can keep up with survivors in tournament scenarios. Sure, those games aren't representative of 99% of the survivors you come across but the main point is that killers like huntress played at max sweatiness still can't compete with playing survivor at max sweatiness. I think it's not bad that killers have at least one viable option (nurse) against those types of survivor groups.
Tournaments in this game are an absolute joke. I'm specifically talking about the tournaments that consist of the highest level. I, and a lot others, love this game because it's a casual game for everyone to enjoy and have fun. I'm not worried about becoming the best player in the world, I just want myself along with the people I'm playing with and against to also have fun.

@UnentitledBunnyMan said:
So killers are suppose to use those weak ass M1 killers and get looped and taunted and bullied by red rank sweaty SWFs? I don't like playing with small pp build survivors for like several years but guess what? Small pp build still exist. U don't like playing with nurse or spirit, how about u don't get to play at all because all killers either quit or go AFK or use cheats when he find he's gaming with OoO SWF on comms?
Btw I don't main spirit or nurse. Maybe they buff all other killers 0.2m/s or something that makes them have a chance when facing good SWF on comms then people will start using other killers. Survivors queue are taking forever and u still complian about some killer are using the character u dislike. Maybe when the game queue time for survivors reach to 1 hour then u will find this game is dead, because u'r such entitled persons that nobody wants to play with u at all.
My guy, I never said that I disagreed with that so why bring that whataboutism bs in here? Small pp builds and killers that are just M1 are things that need to be addressed, but this thread was specifically about Nurse and Spirit. Both are unfun to fight because neither provide reliable counterplay.
@GeneralV said:
Regarding Nurse, I agree to some extent. Playing against a good Nurse is a fun and challenging experience, but when you go against an actual god-tier Nurse there isn't much you can do.
Regarding Spirit, I disagree. Playing against Spirit is... unique. And that is what it makes it fun. I don't think she need changes, but then again, I am not a Spirit main, like you are. If you say that she needs changes, then she probably needs changes.
P.S: I am glad you've decided not to include my babe. I already had to deal with an entire thread of people asking for nerfs and it was a very displeasing experience.
Yeah, I love Spirit, I love her power as it's fun to play as. If survivors had some form of counterplay to work with, then I might have even more fun with her.
In regards to Freddy, I don't like playing against him, but I hope the devs take good care of him in his upcoming nerf :)
-
This is a personal preference. If you prefer a more simple approach to the chase game, Bubba would be the better choice. If you prefer a high skill ceiling chase game that offers really good mobility, Billy would be the better choice. Both are really good killers though.

This would be a disaster. Who would ever choose casual mode if they have a chance to not play against certain killers? This would still cause super long que times for Nurse, Spirit, and Freddy.

Yeah, I’m also getting high ping. Glad I’m not the only one.

Yui on that bike really gets me going
