Why is everyone hating on Nurse lol sure her blinks are crazy but give her a break she has had a hard life dealing with patients and all. Lol

Not to mention how much pain she must be in when blinking do you hear that scream.

Have you considered... going after one of the people doing the gens and not tunneling the person from the hook with two protection abilities that turn off the second they do ANYTHING to help progress the game for survivors?

Why would I do that when they are unhooking right in front of me? But sure I'll ignore my objective right in front of me and walk all they way across the map to hopefully find a survivor to chase.

I could of also seen the unhooker coming and you know tried to go after them but they went for the unhook anyway or is the killer supposed to ignore half the team just because?

No it is a bad idea because that's exploiting a known bug and can get you banned if caught and reported.

    I ment killswitching flashlights.

Here's my take from being an og old freddy main since his release.

Old freddy was bad but he was IMO the most unique killer ever made.

IMO these 2 things is what freddy was good at:

    1. Arguably the best stealth killer in the game
    2. the dream transition if played correctly would 90% always get the first injure on the survivor.

besides those really, he was bad but fun to play as so i didn't care.

Those were dark times to not be a Freddy main entity bless your soul.

Now that the penalty is disabled I don't have to worry about disconnected from host errors or cheaters holding me hostage/forcing me to DC

I've ran into quite a few Chester's lately as killer and not one has forced me to dc. There not going to take me hostage because I'm not a streamer and they get nothing out of it.

Just to be clear these are clear cheaters like running at super speed or blinding me even know I'm looking at a wall or they just fall out the sky.

They would killswitch flashlights. because from what I've seen you need flashlights for it

Thats actually not a bad idea since they are completely useless with the bugged angles.

I've seen so many people saying that buffing the stun timer/making it usable on both hooks would make it an offense perk...I feel like y'all dont know how DS works.

It used to be a free stun for 60 seconds no matter what. This has not been the case for months and months?

If a survivor is trying to "FORCE DS" then they're a) not healing other people b) not doing gens c) literally not doing anything to progress the game in any way. If you're seeing that locker hop and being triggered by that into eating DS... That's on you? Let them locker hop and waste their time.

Y'all are wild. DS needs some really strong buffs so there is passive detterance and fear of DS so tunneling isnt as sad of an issue.

The thing is a survivor try to force ds is still wasting your time. It really becomes a problem when your in a situation where you can't get around the ds survivor and have to hit them and you can't hook them so your not progressing your objective. Also it's not like you can deal with the survivor with ds and another survivor at the same time so even if they are following you around as long as they are in between you and your real target it's a problem not to mention if there running OTR it's 2 hits to get them out your way.

Oh and while your dealing with this mess 2 gens pop

I starting playing when Freddy had to pull survivors into the dream world but I rarely did actually play him only for his adept or just overall minor things but I never really focused on him so I just want to know was he ever good back then.

He was and has been the only killer that can't hit you untell he does something. 7 seconds thats how long it took Freddy to become your standard m1 killer bit on for the one survivor. So to awnser your question not he was quite LITERALLY worse then an m1 killer.

  • The problem is if you stick 4 bad survivors in a group and give them info its not going to do them any good if the can't use that info.

Now take 4 good survivors and give them the exact same info and the outcome is completely different.

The problem isn't swf breaks the game its a good team in a swf breaks the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3231909#Comment_3231909

It's not bad players, its simply the fact that solo players are objectively at a disadvantage in almost all matches, as compared to swfs. The disparities between them causes certain matches to be unfair for solos while others would be unfair for the killer.

I get that but I think people forget that when you lost those 5 games in a row because your team wasn't doing gens adding icons aren't going to all of a sudden make players do gens. This is how I see it going once they add icons, I'm on a gen someone's in chase and two other icons are just base and well at least now I know that I'm the only one actually doing gens.

Most of the complaints I've seen are I was in a crazy chase and no gens were done or my teammates go down against Trapper in 10 seconds. Adding information isn't going to change those situations. Camping and tunneling won't change either because I've seen plenty of survivors say they refuse to do gens and just leave they would rather try and save.

99% of the time is what you think, doesn't make it the truth

    You can't be serious lmao.

Sure 99% might be an over exaggeration. But think about what you are saying. Right now people have an out if been camped they can kill themselves on hook if they want and the reason they do this is because they don't want to just sit on a hook for 2 minutes. Now your saying to double that time at least and leave the out and survivors aren't just going to take the out all of a sudden there going to be ok doing the same thing they had a problem with but for even longer. Well be right back in the exact same situation but instead of running 4 perks your run 3 with one been pointless.

  • @Rudjohns said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3231735#Comment_3231735

Lol absolutely not. The survivor on the hook knows Reassurance is activated and their teammates have time to do objects or plan the unhook. Survivors can kill themselves on the hook right now if they want to. Lame excuse.

Thats my exact point I would be like the perk didn't exist. Survivors already complain about been stuck on the hook for 2 minutes and you think there just going to be ok sitting there for another 2 minutes. Nope they will opt out 99% of the time making the perk pointless.

I decided to try a Three Gen defense build on Doctor, and it honestly felt like the game would never end if I just kept camping on three of them with my perks, addons, and power. I did eventually just commit to a chase and the rest of the game ended normally, but for a good amount of time I was just focusing on static blasting and Overcharging the last three generators, and I wonder if that could be bannable under holding the game hostage, similar to how survivors hiding for 20 minutes without doing objectives is (from what I've heard).

No because both sides are still able to progress the game. Survivors can still do those gens it's just far more dangerous to do so and you can still decide to chase and down Survivors outside of the 3 gen.

I've just given up quite a few times and let Survivors do the gen because it got so tedious and boring I just wanted it to end. I do it often as long as I don't need the 4k for some reason or the survivors were been jerks.

Because when he doesnt do kill streaks he tunes his tryhard mode down, uses meme builds, experiental builds, not even focusing on game a lot but interacts with chat. Otz is a bad example to point out.

And you act as if every other killer is only playing the most sweaty builds and playing as if there in a tournament. What about the casual killer just messing around or trying meme builds and then don't have the skill or game time otz does. So I would say otz is a perfect example because he doesn't play super sweaty all the time and is more skilled then 99% of the killers out there and still struggles. So if otz struggles when just chilling how well do you think other killers do when they are no where near otzs skill leavel.

  • @Rudjohns said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3231395#Comment_3231395

Should give the option for the hooked survivor to kill themselves

That would make the perk completely pointless. The perk is made to give the survivors extra time to do the objective if the killer is camping. If the hooked survivor can opt out as almost every survivor would you would be right back into the same position when the perk didn't exist except now you only have 3 perks to play with.

The perk was nerfed because survivors were using it to grief other survivors instead of using it ro stop camping. It reminds me of when the devs tried to pause the hook if the killer was in a certain distance survivors just abused it so the could hang just out of range pausing the timer forcing the killer in a lose lose even when not camping.

Comp players have 99% in pub lobbys aswell. It's not that difficult.

Otz is doing restrictions to himself, while we also have cheaters stream sniping his streak and use subtle cheats which sometimes won't get noticed to destroy his streak.

I would love to see some proof of these 99% win rate comp players that aren't camping and tunneling.

Yes he do but someone would have tried to use it as an example at some point. Even when not doing kill streaks otz (who is a comp level player) doesn't win 99% of his games and also has to resort to camping and tunneling do to the situation.

With a 99% win rate you would be in the same mmr bracket as otz and would be dealing with all the same cheats he does minus the people stream snipping.

Hearsay says Halloween and Nightmare Elm Street license holders are the hardest to deal with because they have a very "old school mindset" (wathever that means). Im inclined to believe it seeing both licenses lack a significant amount of cosmetics and content compared to the rest and Freddy wasnt available on Switch for a time.

I can totally see that and I have a feeling that has something to do with it. As for Freddy we didn't even get the one everyone wanted so I can see there been an issue with him as well.

There has been three new Halloween movies and we haven’t gotten any new Michael or Lori cosmetics. Whenever you think of horror Michael Myers is the first icon that pops into your head and when you think of a final girl it’s Lori Strode. I know Michael isn’t everyone’s favorite killer but he’s by far the scariest. And nothing will make him scarier then the new look for Michael in Halloween Ends. It’s actually terrifying and I think it would make a great addition to DBD. I just want the burnt mask for Michael so badly I’ll pay any amount of money for it please.

Unfortunately it's up to the license holders and for some reason they don't seem to want many cosmetics. I would love a Halloween kills mask .

    Hey guys!

I've only been playing since the end of July, but I have a question here...

I was under the impression that we can break the gunslinger's line with obstacles. However, chains, trees, and walls failed to break it. I just fought him in Midwitch and used those things but it just brought me up to the obstacle and did not break. Were they hacking or something? My friend saw it and had it happen to them as well.

Using objects increases the speed that the chain breaks. It's for if he hits you going through a doorway from a distance you can use the wall to speed up the break.

Btw it's deathslinger not gunslinger lol.

I do, 99% winrate without excessive and hardcore tunneling

What's being the best killer this game has ever seen pay? Comp player don't even have a win rate like that and when otz does his win streak video he camps and tunnels before someone trys to point out otz.

  • Just because it's intended doesn't make it good design. They gave nurse the ability to have 5 blinks as an intended feature does that make it a good design choice? Doctor originally had way more visual stimulus when in madness to the point where people actually complained that it was a visual overload so it was toned down. His original design was intended to be like that but the developers decided that it wasn't a good design and changed it.

A garden hose with holes doesn't do what it's suppose to do...

    The hag trap flicks do

It also allows hag players to get creative by placing traps near doorways to cause people to miss the door instead of always going trap, teleport, hit. It adds to the gameplay

The hag flicks are NOT bad design. You just don't personally like them. There is a difference between those 2. A difference this community needs to learn

Jerking the camera around without the players control has always been considered bad camera design especially when your camera orientation controls the direction of your character.

You can even look at elden ring when fighting certain large opponents if you use your lock on I makes the camera jerk around. No one was like oh that's intended to make the fight harder nope its considered crappy camera controls.

I'm NA, so I would imagine the region that has all the tunneling and camping must be EU. And I really think tunneling one person out of the game from the start is the only tunneling in the game. At least a decent amount of people think their being tunneled when they are not.

Today I had a game against Michael he didn't camp all game except when he caught me with one gen left. I was like your going to camp me aren't you sure enough I was chilling with Mikey tell the entity came.

I knew it was going to happen because he had no one on death hook and he knew the last gen would be done soon. Most tunneling happens around 2-3 gens I've noticed most killers do it when gens start to pop and then need to pull control back some way. Spreading pressure between 4 different survivors with 2 gens left is like asking survivors to 75% of all of the gens before finishing one.

They released Trickster before even implementing Dead Zone and Response Curve options for controller. I don't understand why they won't do basic stuff to improve gameplay and user experience. They don't share the number of players on console, but we know that it's not small. Not at all. There's no reason to ignore console players the way they do.

I recently played against a console Trickster. He couldn't land enough hits to down me while I was standing still, body blocking as my friend opened the exit gate. When I play Trickster on PS4, I resort to M1'ing and almost never bringing out my knives because trying to adjust the aim mid-chase just doesn't work, DbD needs controller options so players can set the camera to respond to the thumbstick in a reasonable manner.

(I just did the Halloween tome challenges for killer on Switch and I'm in a really bad mood about it, so I apologize if my extreme dissatisfaction with the game at the moment turns this post to acid. I ####### hate killer on Switch. The framerate is too low to stay in chase with survivors, and the input latency is so bad that when I can see them I don't land the ####### hit. They have to throw the match for me to succeed at anything.)

I've actually had survivors disrespect me like that as well and I was still missing. It doesn't feel good when a survivor stops and stands there because they know your going to miss.

I'd love to see a developer play killer in general. I would be very curious to see what they consider to be the optimal style of play and how well they would do with say, Trapper. Some of the balance decisions that have been made in the past (and decisions that for some reason continue to not be made - why is literally two thirds of the killer roster so weak) have me questioning if the developers even play their own game, or the version that we play, at least.

And I'm all for more controller viability. It certainly feels like a handicap when playing killer.

Mathew did that once he played hag against some Korean players I believe back when insta blind flashlights were a thing. Insta blinds got changed shortly after.

It does excuse it. It is SUPPOSED to delay you. That's the point of the trap.

Something supposed to be that way does not excuse bad design. Imagine buying a water hose and you attract it and turn it on and it has a bunch of holes and they tell you no its ok thats how it's designed. You wouldn't be like oh ok if it's designed that way then ok. No that's a terrible design and you would want your money back.

  • @Snow_Lep said:

I have seen enough people DC against 3+ slowdown/gen perks I would almost call it a religious practice.

I have yet to have a DC when I am playing killer, not a single one. I don't tunnel, I don't camp, I don't even hook the same survivor until I have hooked the other 3 in 66% of matches, I don't run 3+ gen perks because I don't even run ONE. I have had no issues with survivors DCing in matches where I am a killer, nor do I play terribly as a killer either; most of my matches are 3K with hatch given to the last.

I HAVE seen two teammates leave within the first 30 seconds of a match, not even downed. Killer was rocking 4 gen perks that match. I HAVE seen someone DC over being tunneled out. I HAVE seen countless DCs the moment Pain Res/Dead Man's are in play.

I feel very confident none of those killers had much fun without ever playing a match, maybe they changed their build and noticed less DCs occurred. Maybe they kept it as is and continued to have DC after DC, I don't know.

What I do know is that there is no 'in-game' punishment for a killer playing in a way that is considered "boring" or "unfun". This could lead to a 'chicken or the egg' paradox of who caused the "boring" playstyle to emerge, but I believe the answer lies in who had gen regression automated by a perk. Yes it goes back that far.

The data is there for the Devs to work on; they can see what perks, killers, maps, addons, offerings, and all that comes in a match where people DC. There are trends that are obvious for them to notice and make changes on to fix things, it all comes down to if they care or not.

Say whatever negatives you want to me, I simply come with observations and conclusions that you, reader, could make yourself. Look less into kill/escape rates, and look more into the root cause. Why do people give up/DC, when do they give up/DC, and what situation (map, killer, perks) were in play when they decided to give up/DC. It doesn't only apply to survivors pulling the plug.

So you've seen people DC 30 seconds into a match assuming the killer had 4 gen perks because if someone has went down in 30 seconds of the match to proc PR well thats only one gen perk and they haven't kicked gens and then downed a survivor to proc eruption and if they kicked a gen and got an overcharge skill check that still only confirms one gen perk so how your teammates know all 4 killer perks in 30 seconds?

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3230837#Comment_3230837

I've played at times when the DC penalty has been disabled.

It's almost impossible to get an actual game in, as killer or survivor - because someone either cable pulls the second they see a killer they don't like, get a map they don't like, have someone go down too early to just because they want to smurf their MMR/rank down.

Cheaters make up a tiny minority of the playerbase. You don't want to punish...basically everyone because of this minority. It would destroy the game.

I think that people who want the DC penalty off have never played with it off. They complain about camping and tunneling every game and can't play the game. We'll with the DC penalty off every game is either a 3v1 because someone dcs 3 seconds in or you load in and boom the killer dcs.

Your lucky to play 1 out of 10 games and chances are someone will DC in the middle of that game because why not.

Hag's traps always intentionally swung the camera. At some point a year or two ago though it got bugged and the camera stopped being pulled by them. So if it's working now that's a bug fix. (If you ever look up Michi's old Hag guides from a few years ago they have entire sections talking about how to use the camera swing to your advantage.)

That makes sense because I don't remember them doing that and I don't think it fixed because the more I think about it I realize it happend about 50% of the time but they definitely need to figure something else out.

I don't remember them doing when I first started and that was before spirit was in game.

It's so the hag can get a hit in.

If you could ignore the trap and keep running hag would miss almost every time after a teleport except for traps that the survivor runs head on in.

I get that but bad design to cover up a bad design doesn't fix anything. I played games in the 90s and 2000 so I'm no stranger to bad cameras or cameras deciding to do what they want but even back then it was considered bad design(mote in the 2000s). It was actually staring to give me a headache and I can imagine it would give some people motion sickness.

It's really bad design there's no reason for my camera to be jerked around because I triggered her trap. Imagine if pinhead hit you with a chain and it ripped your camera to where the chain hit.

    Hi,

I play Survivor and Killer but have only been playing for a couple of weeks. I have found it frustrating as a survivor to be face camped. What I hear from the community is only hooks matter. That doesn't seem to be accurate, though. I can put people on hooks, but they get saved when trying not to play as a face camping killer. Sometimes they get saved right in front of me; That is frustrating, and unless I hook the same player three times, sometimes two, it doesn't seem to count for much. So, from my perspective, as a killer, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. It also doesn't help that I'm being paired with other players, as the killer, that is, many multiples higher in their levelling than I am.

The worst part of been facecamped as a survivor imo is you have to completely rely on your teammates to beat it there's literally nothing you can do but sit there.

As for your killer problems they really skill issues no disrespect. As you play you'll learn what loops are playable and which ones are safe and you have to break the pallet right away. Mmr can be brutal as a killer and put you up against survivors way out your way.

Point of advice if you haven't injured the survivor in around 20 seconds maybe 30 if you really have to leave the chase and find a different target.

But that's the whole point of running Franklin's... Due to last second switching more Killers are running Franklin's even before they load into the pre-match lobby

But now think of Killers... They just got done with (whatever number) of match(es) of seeing how strong Items got the Survivors to all escape... and then they read up on Franklin's (or watch a video on it)... Franklin's was designed to make Survivors think twice about carrying an Item

I only run it when there's 4 medkits. I haven't seen to many last second switches since they changed keys.

For those unaware the flashlight angle is bugged. It is listed on the notes that they are trying to resolve it.

People are just ignoring the fact that BHVR said the angle is messed up and they are working on it. Let's keep pointing out all the bad about the changes and ignore the reasons it was changes which is absolutely more important then your flashlight timing and was 100% successful.

Sorry went off a little .
