The problem with the arguments I've seen some killer mains using on the forums, is that if you use the same logic but "survivor sided" they don't like it.
Some killer mains say they don't owe you a good time, and they're not here to make your game "easy", but then will complain about "genrushing", looping, "pressing w", keys etc.
Double standards and victim complexes.
The speed of gen is what makes tunneling happen. If the survivors are completing there objectives fast the killer then has to do the same. Idk what you mean about looping but there still are infinites that you just have to leave or waste 2 minutes to get the hit. Keys are really only a problem in swf

Now before you comment, I acknowledge that tunneling and camping is a viable strategy. For the most part I don't really hold it against anyone who does it, but jeez this particular excuse has been getting on my nerves lately and that is "my objective is to kill the survivors." No, its not. The game very clearly states that the job of the Killer is to torture the survivors and after squeezing every last bit of hope they have then they can kill the survivors.
If your gonna tunnel and camp, go right on ahead, I don't care, do whatever you want but for the love of god stop using false information.

Survivors gen rush and when the killer complaints, survivors tell him "just apply pressure".
Well, as a matter of fact, tunneling someout out early applies a TON of pressure.
So uhh THANK YOU! to all the survivors that recommended applying pressure. You really helped making this game a better place.
As a killer main I support this message

No, cause that's just how the coin flips, if they are better than u, just accept it and move on, no need to complain on the forum
I know it was unfortunate and one of the survivors got like 5k more than me lol. My point was that there was no reason to try and stop me from at least getting one hook so early just like there's no point in tunneling the first survivors you see.
I was just putting out a similar situation yet its not considered toxic

Yes, we do. We also hate SWFs that actually play tournament style.
Yup it does the same thing as tunneling. But it happens and is ok definitely not toxic. Sorry I hate the survivor killer double standard

Asymmetrical game, how many times am I gonna have to post this? Just because you throw in cake doesn't mean the killer is obligated to farm with you
As a killer last night I was playing GF because I had a few cakes burnt one and survivors gen rushed I got 2 hooks and no points should I be mad?
They also where sabo hooks and body blocking on my first attempt hook

Are we talking about tunnelling or camping? because you brought up chainsaw off hook which sounds camping hook. That's where BT comes into play. Without BT your teammates need to distract the killer, lure him away from hook and/Or take a protection hit. Those are the options and it's doable if your team are on the same page.
In a regular chase, BT is useless, juke, make the killer wiff or strike an object/wall, have teammate take a protection hit, distract the killer and hopefully the killer chases them, vault a window... it's not rocket science.
Like I said, once you get better at losing the killer, tunnelling is rarely an issue.
Not true ill walk away 3 step sometimes and boom unhook like disrespect me like that lol
-
Just like gen rush sucks for a killer waiting 5 minutes to just get blown out but I take the l and move on

Yeah I think that's the better way to go.
Gen tapping in general is really annoying, and I'm sure there's some way to prevent it from happening, like requiring the survivor to stay on the gen for 2 seconds or something.
I was thinking about that as well. Im not to sure how long if its to short then it won't matter, to long and its not fair to the survivors. Something to make to actually have to think if its worth it to just jump right back one the gen if the killer is relatively close
-
@SonicOffline said:
What is pgtw?
Pop goes the weasel
-
@glitchboi said:
The only argument against this is that it'd make 3 gens more oppressive. To be fair though, this is usually the fault of the survivors.
Edit: Haha last 2 digits of my post count before this reply has the funny numberIt could deactivate with 3 gens left. I don't think it would be to had to make it like that.
Kicking gens its almost useless rn especially with one tapping been a thing.
You could also make a mandatory skill check happen when you start a gen but that could have other issues
-
I haven't had any problems on my ps4 untell today. They have been happening quite often as well

@GoodBoyKaru said:

No, as in PGTW's effect is changed to add 20% to the already existing regression that now exists so it's no different to current PGTW
Ok PGTW has changed quite a bit sense i been gone. I think its for the better though I completely killed a gens progression because I hook a couple of survivors next to it and got hooked and jumped right back on it it wasn't the play guys lol
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Yes. 5% regression per kick and pgtw buffs this to 25% for 45 seconds after a hook. Makes ruin less viable and allows more build variety
The 5% wouldn't stack with PGTW or perks like overcharge(I think that's the doc perk) because I feel that could get way oppressive.
Then again I don't know S about balance so I could be wrong lol

The emblem system dictates pips and BP gains. Not if I win. That's like saying having gold medals in Overwatch means you're carrying.
lmao.
I'm not disagreeing with you i go for at least a 3k to call it a win and don't really care about emblems but some people belive you should milk it like the emblem system wants when its not always and option

But the emblem system favors playing with your foos

Okay, if you're new to survivor you'll be going against new killers. People who either don't understand what they are supposed to be doing or don't care enough to bother.
Just get through some more games and you'll start encountering more experienced killer. It might take a while, but you'll find the challenge you're looking for eventually.
I thought they reset mmr for everyone. First match was a Myers thats messed me up.
I think he had a problem with me because ifound his devour hope like 20 sec in and he was running iri hair. I think he was going for the achievement. My bad bro

Yeah, people have the right to get frustrated.
Absolutely. I get frustrated when I play survivor I get frustrated when I get tunneled but I move on to the next. I am a killer main and I don't tunnel unless I have to like they are at 2 gens left and someone has to go and who ever I find first is it
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Maybe some of them are doing the challenge to kick gens/break pallets. Or maybe they've had some bad matches and just want to walk around and kick crap for a bit to earn a few points; a do-nothing match can be a kind of mental reset.
I guess that makes sense maybe because mmr they had some high level players stomp them. I'm super competitive those so when I get stomp I want to get back in there and stomp back. Thats just me though

They asked for the reason why people hate tunneling, not the circumstances in which tunneling happens.
For the same reason killers hate having 5 gens done in 5 minutes and no hooks its almost like you didn't get to play. But it is a pvp game after all lol
-
@Jivetalkin13 said:
I don't understand the question. Need more information to give a proper response. Otherwise sounds like a bait post.
Definitely not bait. I would be on a gen killer shows up kicks it and goes the opposite direction. At one point I stood right next to him as he kicked the gen and then just left.
I personally find sitting on gens boring I would prefer to be chased. Its just weird like I've ran in to killers like this before but not like 4 out of 8 games in one day.
-
@glitchboi said:
It's okay to play how you want, but it's okay to hate what you hate.
I hate tunneling, but sometimes I have to do it, and most killers will realize that they need to do it in certain games. It's also annoying when I get tunneled, but if I get tunneled to death, I just accept it and move onto the next game. I usually run DS so meh.
In short, it's a necessary evil for this game.
Its a byproduct of gen speed to be honest I think there needs to be another objective to slow it down a little because increasing gen times is not the way to go
-
Gen tunneling is also a thing and don't say its not because when I kick a gen at 75% you guys don't go find a new gen to work on to be nice to the killer
-

I know this is an unpopular opinion but i don't think pennywise would work in dbd, at least not lore wise since It is an entity similar to..well The Entity. Both are ancient cosmic beings that feed off a certain human emotion. Pennywise feeds on fear, the entity feeds on hope. So putting one in servitude of the other would be weird and almost impossible to explain
So your saying he's already in game because he is the entity ๐ฒ

What? The TR changes depending on how far the killer is from you. The lullaby does not.
That is not what I ment the tr will get louder as the get closer but its coming from everywhere, the lullaby stays at the same level of sound but if you rotate your camera it is louder the direction she is in
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Lullabies are non-directional. Huntress has a 45m lullaby but when you're inside it you can't tell if she's 45m from you or just 21.
Trickster is a weird case. Imo he shouldn't have a lullaby, but the one that he has is super subtle. When I'm playing survivor I've been caught by surprise several times because his TR is super confusing.
Lullabies are directional and tr is not

@Irisora said:
Cause its an easy escape for not just 1 but for all survivors... keys are broken. Anyway leaving the key hidden in a spot is what a clever survivor would do. Running around carrying the key its just asking the killer to tunnel you, specially if he's well prepared with franklin demise.
I said end game build with noed there is no chase I hook said survivor and most likely his friends are already close by which turns into me defending a hook with noed

wont see the aura no but they will know where they died and the time spent so focused on one person they did enough gens to just leave witht he key thats the point.
Your making the assumption that they are going to go for the key evertime and doing so more than likely puts you in a spot i can capitalize on like I said maybe I have BW maybe I'm running an end game build with neod maybe I put a hag trap on the key
-
@InsatiableMop said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2418096#Comment_2418096
dying lets his team pick it up...again why that's not the way to go.
They not have to get off gens to pick up the giving me time I didn't have or maybe they get crazy and try picking it up while I'm in the area and now I've move from a kill into a chase that I possibly got a hit on.
I can't remember but if a survivor dies you don't see there item aura right only with Franklins
-
@InsatiableMop said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2418064#Comment_2418064
Because the big reason I keep seeing is because "it lets the survivors out without doing objectives" which is only a true statement if you loop back to the original statement which is knocking someone out early isn't the way to play against them.
Maybe I have blood warden and a key has the potential to counter it so he needs to die to counter that potential
-
@InsatiableMop said:

I'm sure you would like people to agree with you as ell which is why I put out points in my favor not just saying key good it has counterplay and leaving it at that.
But people have giving you multiple reasons and your like no thats no enough. Some people want to just bm because they don't like key,others feel like they are op and have gave reasons why they feel this way. No moris and keys are made to speed up the game for who ever use them. But now an ebony mori actually loses you time almost as the animations take a go second. And a survivor with perks can wiggle off in about 16 secs so is it really saving time?
-
@justbecause said:
why? Is that too much skill to use for survivors? To hit skillcheck? If u want to get out just miss two skill checks and ur out old mechanic was so bad
You don't even have to purposely miss them just don't hit anything and you miss the automatically

The key saves 20s in a 4man escape scenario is what I was saying. He was talking about what mori's couldn't do anymore as if previously Mori's and keys were equals. This conversation isn't really a back and forth currently I'm providing evidence to why keys aren't an enormous menace in their current state and all I'm getting back is they let people out early and are OP. The point of the thread is to point out that tunneling the key carrier is precisely how 3+man escapes happen because it spawns the hatch sooner vs playing it more calculated and knowing when to slug the key carrier and hook his team. So if you can address this without just saying keys OP please do i would love to have an actual debate.
The point of the thread is to point out that tunneling the key carrier is precisely how 3+man escapes happens.
it seems more like you have a veiw and you want everyone else to see said veiw or they are wrong. That isn't a discussion

Everything is a loop for Bubba. Rocks, hedges, trees, everything. He's bad at cornering and you can make him fail a chainsaw just by hugging those clusters of rubble in Temple Of Purgation.
This i was playing as him for a daily(i am a killer main i just don't play bubba) and the survivors would loop objects tight and I couldn't really do anything about it because I have to make a wider turn to i don't stun myself. But m1 Bubba with BW got me a 3k lol
-
I got loop to hell twice on this map. They made loops stronger to the point is more efficient to just leve the chase and try and catch some out of position and down them before the can get to the 2 or 3 strong loops right next to each other. By twice I mean to separate matches which I find pretty lucky actually

Man, three patches to fix a character power? What are they doing honestly? Is there anyone working on this game? I can't believe it.
Pumping out new characters ever 3 months they don't have time to fix things. But seriously I would like to see them slow down on content for a while maybe a new chapter every 4 month or even 6 so they can put time in to the core of the game instead of adding in new perks or mechanics that cause more problems

There a guy that doesnt have 5k hours doing it. but dont you think if thats the approach the guy with 5k hours has then maybe people with fewer hours should follow it?
I'm not say its not possible the problem is that within the last 10 rank you can have people with 50hr or 5k and I swear always get them super sweats. I know this probably isnt ture it just feels that way. I'm green ranks killer and I feel like thats where my skill level is but I am constantly getting swf with 3 players been high purple and red meaning 3 out of the 4 are way out of my skill level. These games aren't fun for me but seem to be the majority of the matches I get what am I supposed to do in that situation? Don't say get gud because thats what I'm trying but if I'm getting rolled by players I shouldn't be playing and not having fun making me not want to play killer
-
People need to stop say this guy with 2k-5k hours does it. Most people aren't going to put that much time into the game on top of that when mmr was been tested games weren't the same because they are playing equally skilled players and they weren't getting 9-12 hooks a game not even close these players can play like that and there playing potatoes compared to there skill level. Is like my green ranks playing white ranks
-
@SirGando said:
A shame that he is in such a bad state now. Completely outdated and not really fun to play.
Thats why he needs a buff. I love myers but once in green ranks gens start to fly way to fast to stalk and build momentum. Oh but if it does go well there's nothing like a BW to game that went from a 0-1k to a 3-4k
-
Btw not saying swf should be punished
-
@ThanksForDaily said:
Idk why play with friends needs to be punished where most of them are super casual players. Smh
Because information is a huge thing thats why aura reading perks have high values. Think about it you start a match and your like ok I wonder who the killer is 20 seconds later your friend tells you its a Myers now you know you need to pay more attention already not to mention if he brakes off a chase to pressure guns and your friend tells you he left him and is on his way. Myers is basically an m1 killer at this point with a small tr that doesn't matter because his location is know by everyone most the time
-
And if you just level up killers that you enjoy playing instead of getting certain perks to help when 4 gens go by in 4-5 min playing killer can be a chore once you get to purples. I know because I did this and to add insult to injury I've only got ruin on 3 characters after I got it plague hang and idr the third
-
Is not a bug its a nerf the devs just don't want to admit it
I'm jk of course kinda
