Learning a new-old killer is just a bunch of jobbing to people who usually know what they are doing. Best thing to do is play on a alt and spam whatever power it is you have
No point in playing on an alt since practicing against rank 20s isnt really practice. Also yeah I might even be using my gun too much I shoot people I am well within lunge range to deny dead hard even if I dont know for sure they have it.

I guess that would help some killers but to be fair if it were to choose one of the 2 I would prefer the current bloodlust. There are a lot of infinites in this game that you just can't beat without bloodlust.
Not really unless you are just running them wrong.

Holding m1 on gens have no skill...neither is dropping a pallet...playing with swf....using dead hard....healing....opening gates....bringing keys....neither DC since they took it off the penalty.
killers dont have skill pressing space to break pallets, pressing space to hook people, lunging and holding W to catch up to to people.

I mean, even as a console player I don't have much problem with it since nowdays I mostly play survivor (played killer a lot more before cp).
I see a lot of people bashing and mocking console players, which of course is nothing special since people hate each other based on other differences too. But sometimes I feel like we are unhealthy to this game because maybe we can't reach our full potential and we are holding the game down in some way.
Optimisation, controllers... etc.
Was crossplay really neccessary? Yes we can turn it off but we are left with less players we had before.
What do you guys think about crossplay in general? Was it a good step or nah?
I like to have it off sometimes because more people in the end game chat

The wonders of Dead Hard. It never works as survivor but always ######### you up as killer.

This is why I love playing slinger :D

On the one hand it could be fun. On the other hand, basement hook + bait = easy win.
He will only be the 6th killer that excels at basement camping.
-
Also if you dead hard into a wall the killer with hit you.
-
I more or less mained him for a month after his release and my 1 tip always use a purple addon (except cufflinks) and throw rate or the usb. Throw rate and usb together is probably stronger but trickster is really standard without but almost always you should run one of them so he doesnt feel as painfully weak. He like doesnt do anything cool or special unless you run a purple addon. The one build that I do recommend people try is lery or hawkins with bouncing and piercing some spots you can hit survivors 3 times with 1 knife and its really fun but since you will be throwing knives constatnly because they more or less always hit something with ricochet and you have no extra knife addons I recommend Iron Maiden.

I have no friends 😎 and killer is more bearable than solo Q

The amount of perks and killers keeps piling up and the amount of information players need to know to stand a chance.
The grind is also too much for people who like to try different things.
I was wondering how new players feel about the game too, if you are new share your opinion. Is it too much for you?
Yeah I tried getting my friend into DBD a while ago and he only ended up playing 5 matches because he kept getting stomped by purple/red ranks and tbagged.

Dude, they nerfed those addons by 5% that's barely a nerf.
They are still really good considering their rarity, just a little less oppressive than before
"less oppressive" who ever called them oppressive.

When I play I try to avoid camping as much as possible. I even try to alternate which survivor I hook, get as many hooks as possible, and go away to check distant generators. But often times I see a survivor circling me like a vulture while I am carrying another survivor to the hook. They don't even give me a chance to leave the area. Should I follow them in and get them as they are unhooking the other survivor? What is the proper thing to do?
Also should I keep an eye on hooked survivors from a distance? Let them get unhooked. Then go back in to the hook when I am alerted they are unhooked. (Because there will likely be two survivors in that area)
I am just asking what the best approach is. I am interested in giving everyone a fair game and proper etiquette. When I play killer I like to think of myself as dungeon master or the host of the game I am playing. But I still want to win.
According to some people you should let them get the free unhook. According to common sense you should stop them

I am new to the game, and it seems like when I play a survivor, its absolutely impossible to ditch the killer once they find me. I would think there would be a way to get out of their vision, or to duck and hide in the bushes or around a corner. Am I missing something, or are you pretty much caught as soon as the killer targets you? I have seen people run around, but never actually ditch the killer once they are on their tail.
You dont you loop windows and pallets to waste as much time as possible

A forced skill check that activates every time someone starts working on a regressing gen.
The regression doesn't stop until the skillcheck has been done, if they miss it loses some more progress.
I mean that is what overcharge does and nobody runs it outside of meme builds.

Because her crouch is the worst stealth ability in the game, her traps are unreliable and luck-based, and her dash is very easily countered, difficult to use and doesn't work at a lot of loops.
At least her stealth doesnt have a 2 year cooldown.

Someone called me a tryhard for playing mirror myers.

Trust me, it gets better. Learn to watch the crows. You get to where you can spot a bird taking flight from the other side of the map. You get a feeling good measure of how much was done on a Generator and KNOW that it took more than one in the time since you last checked. That means one is right behind near terrain. There are lots of helpful Perks: Whispers and Spies from the Shadows are good. Stridor is also helpful.
I get crows and the frustrating thing is I know that they are in the general area from crows/missed skillcheck/rancor but I just waste so much time trying to find them in the area.

Practice. I wish I could offer you a better answer, but you just get better and hunting over time to the point where they can't avoid you forever.
Like a lot of my games I dont struggle as bad but its the games where all the survivors are like going into the game with their only plan being to stealth with 4 urbans 2 fixated and 4 iron wills as claudettes.

I hope you own Oni or Ghostface :D

Let me explain you have one change to make to your character. That change can be anything relating to their powers. However you cannot up their base movement speed, you cannot make them instadown with an M1, and you cannot change their TR or lullaby if they have them. So essentially no changing base kit things that do not relate to the power. And do try to be creative it makes for a better post ;)
Mine would go like this The doctor no longer slows down when he uses shock therapy. I feel this change would definitely buff him but in exchange make him a bit more brain dead
The only other thing I would do if not the movement speed would be to up how long survivors cant use things for after they get shocked with shock therapy to 3 seconds ( or 4 if Im feeling cheeky )
So lemme hear your changes and remember do make them creative.
I dont really main them but I have an idea for ghostface.
They can now fly and throw instadown hatchets faster than trickster with no reload.
-
No. Counterforce would have been a good idea before undying because it really does let you cleanse all 5 totems by yourself extremely easily. Now hexes are on their last legs.
-
And nthis is already with you missing the 2nd bp skillcheck.
-
Blight
-
I think distortion would be better than sole survivor in that case since those aura addons are pretty short range so you wont get value until all your team is dead.

Is the Killer reveal exploit back?
I was watching back a vod of a streamer I played against and they knew I was a Trickster on the loading screen, 40 seconds before the game started.
your first few games against a killer it shows a tip about them.

PH before they nerfed it

excuse me face camping goes more like "ahh ooh aghhh" depending on the survivor. Its the chainsaw reving that goes brrr.

Camping they feel too strong and playing them normally they feel too weak. They are not ok.
-
Originally the game started off well because it is comepletely unique with nothing simalar. The main thing that keeps it going though is liscences. Even if a game that was DBD but better balanced and more fun in every concivable way DBD still wouldnt die becuase of its liscences.

Like we have so many killers who do his job better and faster... I never see him in games and when I play him it's an easy escape. He truly did go from top to bottom real quick. So you guys having the same experience or is it just me? And if you are how should the devs fix him?
BLight but free and less reliable :D

Yeah running out of scratched mirrors when you have 70 of the brown hair addons is so annoying.

I think it was intentionally designed to not work on slopes for balancing reasons.
How does this balance a killer if they just cant have a power on certain parts of the map.
-
LP is decent on high mobility killers but I feel I generally have a sense of spawns already so its a bit of a waste.
Eruption takes forever to set up.
Hysteria is just kinda there. Its like deathbound and blood echo. They are just kinda perks that exist.

All the mods deserve appreciation threads :D

@Brokenbones said:
Here's how I think the devs would change it if they had to
They'd make it automatic aka the first time the killer swings at you and if that swing would hit you auto-dead hard.
The only reason they'd do this is to address 'DH for distance' which is what everyone complains about DH for and calls it unfair/no counterplay and so on.
But that is just a 3rd healthstate if its whenever the killer swings or it is useless if killers still do the thing where they breath on your neck before attacking.

You cant hold W against a killer you cant see coming and last time I checked, the W key doesn't prevent the Reverse-Bear-Trap from exploding.
Oh, and the charge attack is faster than sprint burst.
Let's also ignore Wraith's 150% movement speed, Billy's 230% speed power, Nurse and Blight in their entirety, Freddy and Demo's teleport powers, Deathslinger's ability to reel you in, Clown's slowing ability that also reduces vault speed, Oni's 195% speed power, Huntress' bus sized ability to gain a ranged hit from across the map.
Plague just needs to infect you at any amount and then she can move onto a new target if you're truly too far away
You also have Trapper and Hag which are supposed to be area control, as well as Doctor but his is done differently and is high range. The spider doesn't need to leave its web.
If you want i'll even throw in Victor's 150% move speed.
That leaves Michael, Ghostface, and Bubba. They one-shot, so you have one chance to live, and two of them have Undetectable.
You can call Legion and Trickster weak if you want to, but Pyramid Head is all you.
Yes because because pig is fully invisable while crouched and spinechill doesnt exist.

It doesnt count as an unhook same reason it doesnt proc deli or bt

Why were they only valid for 24 hours?
Literally uninstalled the PTB this morning to go back to live and redeem the codes. I guess they just don't want people to play and test on the PTB

I'm pretty sure it will just be if they admit to it.
I've had plenty of people be homophobic to me in endgame chat for playing with my BF and it's a bannable chat offence currently. Homophobes will be idiots, I guess.
Yeah I always found it weird how people brag about themselves being homophobic and transphobic like its some kind of accomplishment for them even looking through replies on those tweets you can see people saying things like "cant wait to tunnel everyone using that charm". Like what are they expecting someone to say "Congratulations, you are an awful human being.".
-
I am completely against homophobia, transphobia etc and I generally avoid tunneling when I can but like what exactly do they mean by this. Does this mean tunneling any survivor that wears this charm can get banned? How do they decide if the killer tunneled them due to their charm/sexual orientation or because they brought a key or something.
Once again I think it is a great idea to try reduce toxicity and specifically hate towards LGBTQIA2S+ but I am just wondering for a bit more clarity about what this means and if anyone who gets tunneled is gonna report the killer for harasment.
