I just picked up Deathslinger and was considering making him a new main (love Doc, but man needs some variety in his life)
I guess I'll be buying Blight next.
-
Naw man, it's going both ways
A couple times a night I will start a grab animation only to get pulled out of it when the server updates and tells the client I didn't get the grab.

Example of the last 5 games, 4 were tunneling or championing the sixth if something similar happens to me, I get out, it seems that playing a game or trying to have fun beyond hitting the spacebar or clicking is "fun", at least to me It gives that feeling, and having to forge a mental strength to play a game one afternoon seems exaggerated to me, the same goes for murderer 2 games I can't find anyone and 3 generators are repaired I'm going home
Instead I can spend all day playing LOL or csgo with people who attack me for playing well or badly that I am not interested in that at the end of the day I know I can play or at least it gives me that feeling
If you only ragequit only the one time after the 5 games, that's somewhat understandable.
However, I think it's best that you ask yourself after a bad game "can I deal with another game like that without quitting?" Be aware of your emotional state before you q up for another game. Try to figure out at what point you just aren't ready to deal with it so you aren't ragequitting. The idea is to not even start a match if you don't have the right attitude BEFORE the game starts.
Many players make the mistake of continuing to play when they're angry when they really should just put it down and straighten out their emotional state first.
-
I'm a Doc Main myself.
As for content creators, I know Bricky on youtube used to be a doc main, but I believe he's going more for Deathslinger these days.
Until I discovered Otz, TheEntityLeftHand was my go-to guy for seeing master-trapper play.

that's a great truth I would like the mod in Spanish to have the same common sense as you :(
As long as you understand what I mean by "Rare Ragequit".
This means you play a vast majority of your games and are not one of those people who quit every time they are first down, or anytime they face a specific character or mechanic.
I have a personal rule that if I ever ragequit, I'm not allowed to play the game ever again for the rest of the night or week. If I ever get pushed to the point that I become a poor sport, then I shouldn't be playing the game at all as I no longer have the right attitude to play the game.
Only pick up the game and play if you have the mental fortitude to put up with the occasional unsatisfactory game. Be aware of yourself BEFORE you go into the game.
And if you are always having an unsatisfactory game, be honest with yourself and ask yourself why can't you find fun with the game despite it's challenges.
-
I wouldn't go so far as to just let them bleed out once they are all down. I'd go ahead and hook them if at all possible. (if they crawled to a spot where it's impossible for you to hook them, well fair game then - let them bleed)
But the act of slugging itself is not toxic - it's a mechanic. Just because some people find it boring doesn't make it any less valid.
-
It's hard, but I think the best way to handle it is to just give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume they are all working on the same ritual or challenge. I've found I can focus better on beating them if I go into such games with such a mindset.
The mechanics are there - i really don't have a right to be mad that somebody wants to use those mechanics - especially if I know of ways to play off them and beat them (faking pickups, equipping certain perks or addins, facing walls, ect)
Takes time and persistence to have the mental fortitutde to just tough it out. And sometimes you just have to be willing to say to yourself "I can't deal with this tonight" and just put the game down in favor of something else for awhile.
-
Using it occasionally can be excused as it's there for those emergencies that come up and you just have to go. The rare ragequit is also understandable. Overusing by using it a LOT it is being a poor sport and THAT is frowned upon.
If you are overusing the disconnect button, perhaps this is the wrong game for you to be playing. In fact, you may want to stop playing multiplayer games entirely.
-
Anybody who doesn't give up and just does the best they can. I don't care what killer or tactic they use.
-
It's not broken AGAIN... Something can't be broken again when it was never fixed in the first place.
At this point I've accepted it will never be fixed and just roll with it.
-
.... Except Dead Hard can be baited out of most survivors once you realize they have it.
It's one of the few meta-perks that has viable counter play. There's no reason to touch it at this time.
-
0 out of 10 for the bait post.
Obvious troll is obvious
-
If a Newbie wants to have a discussion about how crap this game's new player experience is, have at it. I support it 100% because lets be honest - this game's new player experience is stinking dumpster fire.
But if they want to complain about things that have viable counters, they're going to get shot down. Hours means nothing when you make a bad argument.
-
Just keep destroying people, no need to "leave messages". I doubt they really care anyway.

really I don't think you could teach anything to anyone like you said you still get your butt handed to you by swf and for the most part I do good on my own.
was just saying no matter how much you learn from this game killer is still harder the survivor even will be and swf brakes the game.
I would argue I can teach the right mental mindset to handle defeat.
You see, the difference between myself and your average Joe is I look inward first anytime I get beat
Who cares if SWF is broken, who cares if XYZ is overpowered. It's on me to find a way to beat it. If I ever find myself getting frustrated to the point I ragequit - then it's time to put the game down and come back with a different mindset.
Too many people continue to play on tilt or pissed off when the best thing they can do is turn it off and ask themselves if they want to keep at it.
If you don't want to fight SWF highly coordinated teams that aren't completely braindead, then maybe this is not the right game for you. In a world where we are no hurting for choice in multiplayer experiences, it boggles me that people would repeatedly piss themselves off by playing something they are clearly not enjoying.

The hook counter doesn´t count hooks but hook states. There´s a huge difference between 4 kills and 12 hooks. Someone who camps 4 hooks to death counts as a 12 hook game. Which is just inaccurate.
I find it useful myself as a measure of personal performance. In games not going well I'll set a personal goal of trying to get them at least over the halfway mark so I don't feel like such a complete and utter failure as a killers. LOL

If a person doesn't like T-Bagging, they can just get better, learn to let it roll of their backs, or quit multiplayer gaming entirely.
Only the weak let such basic psychological warfare go to their head.

You surv mains need to learn to take a loss. Juat because you lost doesnt mean there is something the killer did wrong. Sometimes he just beat your tail. Plain and simple.
Every game lately its always one surv has to comment on the "reason" he didn't escape. And then leave chat real quick like he mic dropper or something 🙄. Cmon guys just stop already. You can actually fail sometimes. Its not the end of the world and you're not less of a person because of it.
What happened to "ggs" and "glhf"?
Couple of things....
First off, let's not assume that everybody is capable of looking inward and reflecting on their own mistakes and misdeeds. Deflection is a coping mechanism far too many people use and it's hard to break. It took me to my middle age years before I started realizing what a fool I'd been and stopped blaming others for my own short-comings in a game.
Secondly, let's not pretend this is a survivor thing because I see my fellow killer mains pulling this bs too.
Lastly - I personally keep my mouth shut most of the time if the other team got destroyed. I know personally that a GG when I know I did badly and could of done so much better feels condesending and I'd much rather people just stay quiet if they utterly destroyed me. To me, trash talking me feels so much more honest than a GG when it really wasn't. I know in my head that it's meant out of politeness, but emotionally it feels like salt in the wound. Just say nothing.

I don't finish.
I use it for extra points here and there, but I see it for what it is.. a cash grab that I can exploit for extra blood points. Nothing more, nothing less.

funny you say you get better if you play others better then you but the survivors are the one better then you survivor mode and killer mode are different gameplay survivors are easy killer are hard, not saying survivors get out all the time(solo) but swf get out most of the time.
fun fact most killers can't handle most swf groups like 4 or 5 can handle them most need good add on and perks to be able to handle them.
say stop saying play people who are better then you because survivors are not better then playing an easier mode.
Nope, I will keep saying it - get better. Learn to beat them. I say this to myself. Hell, I got my ass handed to me by a rank 1 SWF today. It happens. If you can't hack it, find another game
-
It's like this - every game will beat you somehow.. somettimes it will stomp you hard
If you can't find enjoyment even when getting stomped hard, then this is the wrong game for you. don't waste your time.
I'm saying this as a gamer fast hitting 50 who's been at this for decades now. this is supposed to be something you enjoy even when you are getting your ass handed to you. The fact you aren't having fun getting whipped means you need to go out there and find a different game. We don't hurt for choice in this day and age.
Good luck out there, no matter what you decide.

I do fine with my own rank I don't want to play rank 1 super squads as a green rank killer
I'll repeat what I said....
You'll never get better unless you play against people better than you. So either man up or find another game. ruining the game for 4 others because you're having a hissy fit is what weaklings do.
-

I just sit in a corner waiting to open the door and play gears pop or one of the Microsoft phone games what do you do? Only when my poor green rank killer deals with 4 red ranks or 3 red ranks and a green so matchmaking thinks it's fair to play the swf
You will never learn to beat them with that attitude. Either grow a pair and learn to beat them, or uninstall the game.

Do you actually think it's that hard to hook 4 different survivors? God, I feel bad for you.
Entirely possible if you are up against a stealth specialist and you're not playing the Doctor.
I usually get all 4 of my tokens, so I'd probably benefit from this. But I have such a hard time justify using a perk I only get to use for less than 5% of the game.

I don't see why they would nerf No Way Out. The main reason Remember Me was nerfed was because of EGC starting when hatch is closed. BHVR also adjusted gate opening times as well. No Way Out doesn't trigger when EGC starts just when the last gen is finished.
So it won't cause any situations of survivors getting trapped while EGC is ticking down.
Now survivors could open the hatch after finishing the last gen causing EGC to start when the killer closes the hatch. But I don't see that being problematic.
While I see your point with the triggers being different, I still believe the perk will be nerfed - especially when you KNOW that people are going to pair it with NOED - it's just a given.
40 seconds is a long time to be stuck with faster-moving one-shot killer. And that's even before you start to touch the gate.

Tell me, how do I communicate to 3 strangers I'm randomly paired with to just do gens? Telepathy? How does the first survivor who goes for the save KNOW there's a stealthed Ghostface or Pig crouching and waiting until it's too late?
It just happened YET AGAIN.
And 2 team mates diconnected as soon as they figured out what was happening and then it was just me and a Nancy left while this toxic Pig slugged her and searched the map for me.
I can't believe people defend and justify this behaviour. It's bizarre.
You suck it up and deal with it. You can't depip at the lower ranks, so you'll eventually move pass that balony.
If your team is bad, then learn to carry harder.
You can't change anything in this game except how you play. Instead of lamenting behavior that will never change, look inward and find ways to beat it.
BTW, I'm not defending it - I find hook farmers to be a scourge on this game that need to be punished harder. If we had less hook farmers, we'd have less campers - guaranteed.
Attack the real problem, not the result of the problem.
-
Of course Crowd Control is better than Bamboozle, it's a hex. You risk losing it, thus it has to be more powerful. So you choose between consistency or power - take your pick. Seems a fair choice to me.
I fully expect No Way Out to be nerfed considerably to be more in line with Remember Me. There's no way in hell they're letting that perk delay the gates 40 seconds - I'm calling it now.
I'm still on the fence about Starstruck vs Mad Grit.
Fast Track vs Stake Out - Neither is better than the other. Not everybody can hit a great skill check consistently, making Stake Out a better perk for such people.
Self Preservation vs Poised - they fire under different circumstances, so comparing them seems silly to me. Self Preservation, I would argue, needs the longer duration as it's dependent on proximity to the killer.
Smash Hit vs Lithe - again, bad comparison. Lithe is easier to meet the requirements of. Smash Hit, on the other hand, requires more risk and thus should have the greater reward.
-
I'm grouped with bubba as doc? Really? I would of put myself above him.
I don't camp... but if a team doesn't even bother to protect their unhooks, I have no reason to not down the slob.
Ain't my fault their teammates are trash...

I see what you are saying, but i think tru3 was saying he wants hooks to reward the killer. Therefore reward a killer for playing more fair and not tunneling.
Here's the thing - the devs can incentivize multiple hooks till the cows come home - but it doesn't change the most core aspect of this game.
REMOVING SOMEBODY FROM THE GAME REMOVES HANDS FROM GENERATORS PERMANENTLY
Until that core feature of the game is changed, it will always be best to tunnel and get hands off generators quickly in order to make the game easier.
Especially when you consider my next point....
GENERATORS ARE SUPER EASY TO DO BY EVEN THE LEAST SKILLED PLAYERS.
Because the survivor objective is pathetically easy even for the worst loopers, a smart killer is going to have every reason to pressure that weak link and get them out of the game quickly to make their lives easier later down the line. Because the simple fact is, dead survivors can't do generators.
To do otherwise makes the more intelligent among killer's feel like they have to play like idiots. We have to "Dumb down" our gameplay for the sake of some arbitrary rule about "Fair play" that the core of the game does not support.
Here's the truth of the matter that tru3 and others need to just accept - it's on the survivors to stop the killer from tunneling by protecting their teammates better. If they can't handle that - they're in the wrong game and need to move on. Because the only way to fix the issue is the change the game with infinite respawns which isn't happening.
-
I wouldn't user Rancor myself. I'd replace it with Blood Warden for that extra bit of spice.
Of course, it means you're playing with zero perks for most of the game...

not really, most deathslingers i have faced are rank 14-17. his harpoon is insanely accurate yet i still dont get how people can literally miss trough a scope
I think it's a combination of people not realizing his weapon is not hit-scan and not having the foresight to plan ahead when they are in a loop. At short range, he shuts down certain loops pretty damn hard if the survivor doesn't know how to mind game.
I've only put a few hours into him at the green ranks a couple weeks back, and it took me several games for the weapon to "click" with me. Look forward to seeing what else he can do once I learn his nuances.
-
Look, it's okay to not like a character. I support that.
But some of these reasons I see make me chuckle. I mean, you talk about how he doesn't look like a killer, and I'm reminded of Wednesday Adam's and Halloween costume of a homicidal maniac... which was her normal outfit because "we look like everybody else"
Look, if you don't like how the character looks, that's fine. But to sit there and say "They don't like the character because they don't look like a killer" is laughable. You are either not sure why you don't like the look and am pulling something out of your ass or you're uncomfortable with the idea that we as human beings are monsters deep down and being reminded of that is scary.
-
I mean, it only really stops body blocking - and that isn't much of an issue anyway.
-
I'm so sick of the "Skilless" argument. Do you not understand that having low-skill floor mechanics and character is a very important part of multiplayer game design?
-

Damn, so many of you are being so childish about this chapter.
Sorry, you didn't get something you hyped up for yourself.
So many tantrums and you all think you are hilarious. Too bad really.
It's okay for somebody to not like something..... just sayin
-
It's okay for people to not like the style or look of any one of the killers in the game man. Just let it go.
We got dozens of choices now, it's okay to not like a few of them.
-
Not really a look I can get into, but that's why there's a dozen different killers to choose from.
-
So? do the gens and outrank them. They only camp because overly altruistic survivors continue to reward this behavior FULL STOP
Train them properly and bore them to death.
-
NOED represents a failure of the survivors to do their optional objective of doing the bones in exchange for the killer playing with only 3 perks for most of the game.
I fail to see the issue here.
-
I liked that they were espectful, but I think Tru3's attitude about incentivizing hooks is so narrow-minded and short-sighted.
Even if you do incentivize hooks, there's no reason for a killer to not push harder on the weak link, especially when the rest of the team is good. And even if you try for hooks, it's still better to get people out of the game quickly and put yourself in a strong position.
And I for one am getting sick of this prattling on about "skillful" gameplay and crutch perks. Mechanics exist in the game, people are going to use them, learn to play around them. If you find trying to counter such play boring, then this is the wrong game for you and you need to realize that and move on.

Should read my steam comments. :) People hover around the hook and complain when I stay around it.
My own steam profile is locked down to comments with the following statement.
":I keep comments locked because people don't handle getting destroyed well and have to babble and rage like petulant children.
I'm sorry sunshine, but your fun is none of my concern. I have my own objective and I will meet it using any means necessary to do so outside of obvious exploits the devs have forbidden.
If you don't like that, then stop me. I don't give quarter, so I don't expect it to be given. If I find myself breaking this personal rule and ragequitting due to something somebody pulled on me, I punish myself hard by refusing to play multiplayer games for awhile because it's obvious I'm not in the right mental headspace to handle the ruthless gameplay that might come my way.
We as players need to stop getting mad and angry at each other for playing games using any means necessary - we need to get good enough to defeat it.
To do otherwise just encourages weakness and entitlement. So bring it, or get out."
-
Doctor. I know were you are, at all times.
Pallets? I laugh at pallets, literally.
Come, share in the madness with me.
Joking aside, I like me some Plague too. I need to play her more.
-
I'd take this post more seriously if I didn't see people complain about facecamping when the actual problem is hook farmers that encourage the behavior.
But that's just none of my business I guess.
-
Personally I think a haunted animitronic fits better than a creepy ass clown, but that's just me.

@DwightFairfield said:
As a survivor main, I dislike tunneling because it feels cheap, even with the meta perks you'll feel powerless as the killer can just barrel you down and take you out while your teammates escape.
On the same note, when a killer is tunneling someone he's not actively searching for other survivors, so it's generator repair simulator.
However I absolutely see why killers need to tunnel to win, I just approve of it more when it's out of necessity and not out of toxicity
There is a definate difference between doing it to be a dick and doing it because the opportunity was presented on a silver platter complete with side dishes and a garnish.
The latter is where I fall. I don't seek out to tunnel anybody because it's best to slow the game down by spreading out the pain. But if somebody hook farms or surivvors give me no reason to leave, you I'm going to be cold and ruthless about punishing that bad gameplay.
-
I have nothing against Tru3's ability as a player. Additionally, I respect his honesty. He also seems like he'd be a fun guy to share a pint with.
But I question his ability to be objective anymore in his analysis of the game.
He's put so many hours into this game and this game alone that I question if he can be objective about it anymore. I feel he's so close to the subject matter now that he can no longer see the forest for the trees.
I think a long break from the game to do something else and coming back with a fresh perspective might do him some good.
-
I'm responsible for MY fun, nobody else's. If you play in a matter that is foolish and run an injured and previously hooked survivor in front of me without protecting them, I am going to ruthlessly hunt down that prey
don't like it? Get good and stop me
It's that simple. The moment people stop worrying about how other people play their game and focus on their own, the better this community will get.
