Looking at the floor for a full bleedout isnt engaging. You can try to justify it all you want but it's dull from a survivor perspective.
Failure states aren't supposed to be fun or engaging - they're supposed to encourage you to avoid that state.

Here's my unpopular opinion
Plague is HEAVILY underrated

I agree with alot of what your saying but I feel what your saying can't be applied to every situation. As I said before people can tunnel and camp to be toxic, and some people find being toxic to another player fun, but that doesn't excuse the toxic behavior. If a person bully someone else for fun does that automatically excuse the bullying?
If a killer is tunneling and camping a survivor with the intention of being toxic because its fun for them, they are a bully.
then it's on the survivors to discourage the behavior by playing better by either not feeding the camper or being better at protecting their unhooks.
We are given the tools within the game to deal with anything people throw at us to "bully" us. Unlike real life, within the confines of the game we have the means to fight back or not reward the behavior. It's on you the player to implement this.
We as players need to stop perceiving intentions behind how a person plays, I believe that is a lot of the problem
I mean, I could take that sabo team I dealt with last week and assume they were trying to bully me by denying me event points, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just assumed they were all on the same ritual and destroyed them using my basement hooks instead.
Could be just friends playing around
could be people who just don't another way to play
could be somebody just doing one of the many tome objectives they have to do.
-
Every kid is different, every parent is different. DEAL WITH IT
-
I mean, if we want to talk about moments where somebody attempted to bully us only to get their asses handed to them - I had a match with a 4 man sabatage group that I think was trying to deny me event points last week by just destroying all my hooks.
They ended up not only getting 4 manned, but only got 1 generator done and me laughing my ass off at what a clown fiesta it was.
-
It's funny to me that people want to nerf spirit when there are 4 killers with a better kill count than she has, including my own favorite killer.

No one has a problem with stealth. Its when someone is immersed thats the problem... If people are dying on hook, and you are crouched against a wall trying to save your sprint burst, then yes, you're the ass hole
Stealth, what's stealth? *Does a doctor laugh*

Or just remove the different levels of perks...
I've been saying this for a couple years now. It's nice to finally see somebody else who sees this.
-
You can trim it down a LOT by just reducing the perk load by 2/3's by simply removing perk levels entirely.
All perks have one level... and that's their current level 3 stats. This has so many benefits....
This should also help newer accounts catch up faster and help new characters come to a decent power level faster.
I cannot think of any negatives for this given the sheer amount of perks and DLC this game has now.
-
No... NOED actually PUNISHES poor gameplay.. from the survivors. It punishes those who are lazy and fail to do their optional objective.
Get it right.
-
You don't need all that to explain your point. I can explain it much more simply with one simple statement.
I and I alone am responsible for MY fun and nobody else's. If somebody else is doing something that annoys me, it falls to me as a player to get good enough to put a stop to it by my ability to play better.
There is no ands, ifs, or buts about this. If you aren't good enough to stop somebody in the game from doing something you dislike, you just aren't good enough. If this makes the game unfun for you, you need to stop and ask yourself if you like the game enough to get better, can grow a thicker skin in order to stop the thing from annoying you, or if maybe it's time for you to find something more worth your freetime.

There was a bug in a map which allowed survivors to run up on rocks, but I (killer) couldn't reach them. This swf was always running up on that rock, and healed up there.
The only thing so far that has been posted that qualifies
Everything else is utilizing legit game mechanics that are in your hands to counter.

That's kinda the point.
She's actually severely underrated.
-
Then don't run them.
I know everybody and their cousin's dog like to run ruin, but I only ever run it if I have nothing else decent to run on the killer I"m using.
Frankly, I'd rather have 4 good perks than 3 good ones and 1 powerful one may be gone before the first gen pops. (and people should be grateful for that. Huntress Lullaby on a Doctor is the most annoying thing you could possibly face. I get soooooo much hate every time I meme and run that)
-
... uh, no. Billy is nowhere anything LIKE Demigorgan.
Honestly, Demigorgan has more in common with Hag than anybody.
-
Okay, so I put a few hours in as survivor
Not really seeing a difference here other than the pallet weirdness I've seen as killer. I've managed to land all my attempted stuns and didn't have a single strike through or teleport.
Frankly, the only thing that seems slow to me right now is Dead Hard's activation, but that might be just I'm bad.

Stop being afraid of change!
Fine.
How about they revert ALL changes and updates! We’ll go back to just Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Dwight, Claudette, Jake, Meg, MacMillan, Coldwind, and Azarov.
Happy?!
The UI was not an improvement. While I liked a couple elements of it, I find most of it to be poorly thought through
I understand they like to stay consistent between platforms - but UI is the last thing you should be trying to keep consistent between platforms when one of those platforms is Mobile. Screen size plays a big part in readability.
I usually defend BE when people aren't being fair in their roasting - but this spreading out of UI elements for the sake of consistency was a bad idea and they should have their feet held to the fire over it.
DEAL WITH IT
-
Careful what you asked for - especially when you say "doctor level rework"
Doctor got more powerful with the rework. And so did Freddy with his apparently.
-
I don't feel like one side or the other is ruined, am I allowed to have an opinion regarding the fact certain elements of killer powers are now hard on my eyes to read?
-
I respectfully disagree.
As somebody who is feeling the affect of age on my eyes, I don't appreciate things getting HARDER for me to read.
If they can finally put in color-blind mode (which was necessary for our color-blind cousins), they can make sure we can read the UI.
-
I have a 2 more bitches about the new UI now that I've played with it more
While I find it easier to guage doc's madness levels on this new UI, I find keeping track of reverse bear trap timers and freedy's sleep progression much much harder
Those damn photos are too small. And THATS WITH THE SCALING TURNED ALL THE WAY UP
FFS man, I'm nearly 50 and have to wear bifocals, why are you making things harder on me to see.

Couple things to this:
The UI is functional on a PC screen, but for console players on a large TV, they need to literally turn their head multiple directions to get information.
The status bars for exhaustion, etc, are still completely not colorblind friendly, I am incapable of seeing where they are on the bar. Frustrating when they listened when it came to the injured portraits.
The gens left are in a spot you will never look naturally. There are some reasons, especially as killer, to be looking in the bottom left for a hiding survivor. I can say I've never looked up at the top center naturally unless I'm playing Huntress and going for a longshot snipe. It's lead to me struggling as both sides to keep accurate count of the gens left which is a problem.
General UI design is to cluster like information so that a quick glance tells the player everything they need. The old UI did this very well, with everything but perks in the same spot. Now to see how the game is going you need to look top center, top left, middle left if you're killer, top left for longer if you're survivor, bottom left to check power/item stats, and bottom right to check perks. Compare that to the old UI, which had it so you had to look bottom left and bottom right to get the state of the game, and it's objectively worse.
The reason people are so mad about this is it affects every game. Balanced isn't in every game, DS isn't in every game, Nurse (rest her soul) isn't in every game. BL removal was for a weekend and nothing came of it. This is in every single game, you cannot avoid it, so it's something everyone who hates it has to deal with every time they ready up. The outcry as a result is balanced in proportion to how often you deal with it.
I suspected that might be the case for Console players. I play on a 32 inch curved monitor and find dealing with the positioning of the UI elements to be a chore right now.
-
May need to dust off Ace later tonight and see what you guys are talking about. Because other than getting teleported onto the same side as a survivor about 3 times earlier today, I haven't noticed anything else strange going on.
-
Any gen with no cover. Frankly, those are the ones people need to do first, but it's rare to find anybody willing to do that.
-
I'm surprised people even play for emblems anymore. I just ignore it and look to kill as many as possible. If that doesn't happen, I content myself with getting as many points as I can.
Worrying about ranking causes more frustration than it's worth.

@CashelP14 said:
No I think killers are worse for having "no soul" on pc. They're usually the ones who slug all 4 survivors with 5 gens left lol
As a PC killer I can confirm I have no soul and play with complete and utter ruthlessness.

Basekit Spirit is almost fine excluding the standing still "mindgame". Her addons are what needs to be gutted. It's absurd that a killer as strong as her has such bullshit addons. She is a killer that made into 2021 with the addons Nurse had in 2017.
However, I don't think Spirit is getting changes anytime soon unfortunately. If you look at the store she is the 2nd killer with the most number of skins (below Legion, another unfun killer they won't ever touch), so she brings a lot of money. For some reason she has a weird fanbase that thinks she's a waifu or something like that and I doubt BHVR will be willing to do anything about her.
NOED should have been changed since forever. Make it so the hex lits up after the 4th gen is completed or give the exposed status to all like Rancor does so survivors can expect it. Another way is simply giving a totem counter.
Freddy needs a complete overhaul so he actually takes skill to play. Playing new Freddy is borderline braindead because you can just spam snares at any loop, teleport with almost no cooldown between gens and have semi stealth potential with the stupid lullaby.
I don't play or deal with spirit enough to have an opinion on her standing still gimmick, so I'll refrain.
Displaying the exposed status when NOED activates but before anybody gets hit won't ever happen. Devs try to keep things consistent when it comes to perks, and Hex perks don't show their effects until they activate on somebody for the first time. So for the sake of consistency, it will NEVER happen.
-
Ive been spit out on the other side of the pallet a couple times which confused me almost as much as it confused the survivor.
But that's about the only wierdness I've suffered since my return.
-
Things I hate
- How everything is spread out to the 4 corners of the screen. I prefer all my essential information in one area thank you very much.
- The color photos. I would of preferred simple high-contrast profiles much like you see in the original post.
What I like
- I prefer the slash across the photo when I do damage. That is pretty neat and thematically cool..
- I like the hook counter a LOT. I hope this stays.
- I noticed as doc that the madness levels are much easier to read with this new UI
Honestly, just let us customize where we put our UI elements are and I think most of us would be satisfied. While what you have probably works for mobile, it's not great for those of us who play on bigger screens. I mean, I hate it on my 32 inch monitor, I feel bad for the console players who have a decent big-screen to play on.

I wish I knew what tunneling was when I started because then I'd know not to do it
Tunneling is valid. It's on the survivors to stop you from doing it by playing smarter or bringing the right perks.
-
Wish I had been less afraid to leave the hook. It's better to tie up 3 survivors by chasing another than hooking and camping.
-
I agree with this.
-
Depends on who you tunnel
If you tunnel the weak link whose chases end early - then yes it's the right thing to do strategically as even the worst players can do gens.
If you tunnel somebody who is good at keeping you busy, you're being a dumbass and need to go find somebody weaker.
-
... seriously.... we're complaining about Dead Hard now.
#########...
I'm a killer main and even I find this confusing. I always knew that this game's playerbase was pathetic, but this really takes the cake. You can bait it out, you can give yourself a better lunge, you can GET GUD.
FFS...
-
You're in the wrong game if you dislike people playing in a matter that ruins your game
Just sayin....
If you aren't part masochist, you have no business here.

It's more that these individuals tend to be insanely toxic, even by DBD standards. And these days it's a signal that I'm about to run into a smurfcomp.
Define "Toxic"
I'm not even kidding. I've seen people consider game mechanics toxic, so I think it's a valid question.
-
3 minutes to the first gen is not a gen rush.
BTW, if you can't catch a survivor quickly, you should find a better target anyway.
-
It was a long time ago, but I once had a killer down me then camp me till I bled out And it wasn't like my team didn't wise up and punish him hard by doing all the gens after 2 attempts to raise me. I guess he didn't like something I said on the forums or something.
There is literally no reason to do that other than spite. Hook camping I can understand, especially with over-altruistic teammates. But waiting 4 minutes for a guy to bleed out? There was no point to that since they added hook respawns.
-
Brain dead survivors that farm their teammates
Even as killer that ######### pisses me off. It's like the most selfish and brain-dead thing you can do in the game. It triggers me like nothing else.
-
People who run TTV usually are trying to grow their channel
It means nothing more
You are reading more into it than you should
Even if they are try hard, you're robbing yourself a learning opportunity by avoiding them.
-
I came back to play survivor
but the q's were too long
So I guess I'm still a killer main. Ah well, somebody needs to make the console survivors step up their game. Guess that'll be me.
-
Oh look, yet another survivor main badmouthing killer perk combos
This is like, so 5 years ago
Never change DBD community....
-
You must be new here,
My first reaction to the title was "well duh"
Been like this since year 1.
-
She's a strong killer, she just doesn't fit my play style... and I hate being short in this game.
-
Didn't read, because it's the same old ######### we've seen for 4 years.
so I give you the same answer
80 seconds to solo a generator
120 seconds to fully die on a hook
4 survivors
Sow hat is the right call when 1 of you is being camped?
Hint, it involves math
-
bigger question, why are so many purple rank survivors NOT DOING THE GODDAMN BONES
-
I have more or less accepted that DBD is the Smash Bros of horror icons and have made peace with the idea.
As for FNAF specifically - some people find animitronics unsettling - so I can see how it would work for some people as a killer. Not really my thing. I played the first game, got my 10 bucks worth of fun out of it, then moved on.
-
I'm curious why you'd be against retconning existing characters. That seems a little odd.
Especially as much interesting fanart I've seen regarding Nea and Meg....
-
Given the amount of times I've seen Nea and Meg shipped, I'm surprised this is even commented on, but whatever
Who the ######### cares... why even comment on it.
-
Nope, not bannable
I've had it happened to me as I'm the type to post unpopular opinions. I'm like "Okay, fine - you felt I was worth wasting 2 minutes of your life to make my game miserable, that's on you. Whatever"
as short as matches are in this game, it's not worth getting bent out of shape over. In the grand scheme of games I've played, this is actually pretty minor.
