Let's not pretend this is a killer only thing. I've seen that ######### from both sides.

That's my point. A match is over in like 15 minutes but they get dragged out unnecessarily and we can't get out of them to move on to another match.
If the killer is camping, the game shouldn't be lasting 15 minutes.
it takes 80 seconds to do 1 generator solo.
It takes only 2 minutes for somebody to die on a hook
You an literally do an entire generator in the time it takes for somebody to die - assuming they don't do the selfish thing and suicide. So if the killer camps the first person, you can theoretically pop off 3 generators and be more than halfway to escaping already in less than 5 minutes.
Your games only last longer than 15 minutes if people dick around and not pressure the killer on the gens or people dick around aftewords when the game is done and 99 the doors.
-
DS is an anti-tunneling perk.
If you decide you have a moment to do a gen or heal somebody, you aren't being tunneled anymore and don't need the perk.
The perk unfairly wasted killer's who weren't tunneling's time. It isn't the killer's fault your teammates are garbage enough to get downed and hooked in less than a minute before he finds you again.
-
Matches are usually no more than 10 or 15 minutes. There is no reason to NOT suck it up and finish out the game
If we were talking about a game where the time investment was upwards to 40 minutes (like League of Legends), then you'd have a point.
If you can't handle the occasional bad match in a game who's matches are as short as DBD's, you shouldn't be playing at all. Put the game down and come back when you have the mental fortitude to put up with it.
BTW... if you make yourself seen at a hook, you've given the killer no reason to leave. They know in that moment there is at least 2 sets of hands not on the generator - they've just lost time pressure. Additionally, making yourself obvious bait like that makes most semi-intelligent killers assume there is another nearby, and chasing the bait will make them feel like a chump.
The right call is to remain out of sight and pop off generators to pressure them away from the hook
-
I have a simple answer....
Because Nurses run speed is literally slower than survivors.
Default Survivor run speed is 4 m/s
Her run speed is 3.85 m/s, that makes her a 96.25 % speed killer - .literally the slowest default run speed in the game. She cannot under most circumstances in the game M1 without using her power.
Ergo, those perks would be utterly pointless to have on her if she couldn't use them post blink.
Every other slow killer like Deathslinger or Huntress is 4.4 m/s or 110 % speed. Most killers run at 4.6 m/s or 115 %
-
Aren't they required BY LAW to inform of a data breach in some jurisdictions?
If anything, it's nice to see they aren't hiding anything.
-
BBQ and Chili fulfills this need by telling you if anybody is within 40 meters of the hook.
no buff to whispers necessary
-
I'm actually okay with this idea oddly enough. I'm usually opposed to most licenses that people suggest. But this one... this one I can see working.
What would the Necromorph's power be though?

Streamer i watch the most is Tru3. Mainly because he uploads 500 videos a day so he is always in my list. It's weird though, a good portion of what he says makes a lot of sense but then he confuses OoO with undying auras.
I watch Monto for the laughs
I don't watch Otz. Just Not Otz.
I miss HybridPanda. One of the more all around entertaining streamers.
And Umbra playing huntress. Just not right for her to be that good.
Now that you mention it, I miss Hybrid Panda too. He was such a chill and likable guy.
-
1 - Otz - because he's otz and everybody adores the guy
2 - TheEntityLeftHand - I know his roleplay isn't for everybody and some people can't stomach how he will hunt down offenders, but I love how calm and cool he is most of the time. He never complains about game balance - he just plays his game and doesn't care what anybody thinks of him. Before i learned about Otz, he was my go-to Trapper main. Indeed, I think he is probably Otz's equal with Trapper.
3 - Tru3 - I don't care for his opinion much and I don't like his incessant complaining about balance. But I respect that he is willing to explain his point of view calmly and his skillful play. For that reason, i watch him.

Complete and utter selfishness combined with a bit of inability to accept anything resembling a challenge
-
Braindead. LMAO
You don't play killer much at high ranks, do you? The amount of juggling you have to do. Hell. when I chase somebody off a gen with pop, I have to make a split-second decision to either use the pop or go for a quick chase. If I do the former, I risk losing the survivor in a tough to catch area. If I do the later, I risk losing potential loss of 20 seconds on a generator. All while keeping track of everything else I need to keep track of.
Brain dead indeed..... go ######### yourself
No counter? You don't understand how to use the fine art of misdirection with auras? You don't understand how to prepare for the incoming hook ahead of time? Who's the brain-dead one here exactly?
-
Even the worst survivor can do a gen.
Every pair of hands on a gen is time the killer is losing.
If you are not in the game, that's hands removed from generators for the rest of the match
Therefore it's always in the killer's best interest to remove people from the game WHEN PRESENTED THE OPPORTUNITY

The goal is to kill the survivor by hooks, not slug all 5 and leave them to bleed out with 0 hooks done the entire match, if you don't think that's toxic at all then you're delusional.
The fact that the OP took a ban for this makes me not care at all what happened to be quite honest. I can tell you that I know for a FACT that the game will not ban you if you are a rare rage-quitter. So frankly I don't give a rip if the guy was T-bagging corpses, camping hooks or anything. The OP quits enough to get banned. People like that are exactly the reason I don't play survivor. Ergo, the OP will have nothing but my disdain.
Let's assume the killer was indeed trolling. Congradulations, by disconnecting you just fed his ego and encouraged them to do it again.
Just eat the 4 minutes and move on. Don't be a punk and leave.

What was wrong with his ,,playstyle? He didnt even really said anything about his playstyle, only how the match turned out.
The ending statement "Moral of the story, hooks are more fun than kills," is a statement of preferred playstyle.

This was not a bad game this was toxic and the player should be banned for griefing
Do you die when you bleed out?
Yes
Ergo, he's meeting his goal he's playing the game - playing the game itself is not toxic.
If he was cornering you then going AFK, I might be a bit more sympathetic.
Here's the ironic part - it takes you 4 minutes to bleed out total.... which matches the time of your ban. You ate the 4 minutes either way. Assuming he was looking to troll, you gave him exactly what he wanted by disconnecting. Congratulations, you played yourself!
LEAVING THE GAME FOR ANY REASON OUTSIDE OF A BUG IS NEVER JUSTIFIED
The fact you lbanned tells me this isn't your only offense. Indeed, you seem to be making a habit of it as these bans are based on a percentage of games you quit. Therefore, I have no sympathy for you. In fact, I would encourage you to consider finding a different game to play.
-
If how other survivors play bothers you, just switch sides and stop worrying about it.
-
The problem is you're reading arbitrary meanings into actions in the game that ultimately mean nothing to the game itself.
Stop caring what meanings people tie to your actions and play in a manner that is pleasing to you but still meets your objectives.
There is nothing Toxic about just playing the game, END OF STORY

OMG, the ocean of tears and mounds of salt were glorious. It was especially fun to hear it from people who liked to sit there in plain sight and T-Bag behind pallets without realizing that they were just feeding Michael
Back then, we got pips off points, not the emblem system. So people T-bagging at the exit gates was just guaranteed stalk points. Easiest rank 1 I ever achieved. LMAO
Michael was the highlight of the game for me in those dark times.

I find it funny that people complain about the skill level of anything in a game when they don't realize that a low skill-floor mechanic is a MUST HAVE for a game to thrive.
This is why things like Blue-shell, noob tube, and Bubba exist. You need low skill-floor things to give entry-level players a chance against people who are experienced.
No matter how much you rail against them and complain till you're blue in the face, designers will continue to put these things in.

If you got good flick aim and know how to anticipate movements, Deathslinger
If you're a bit of a weeb, go for Spirit
Legion .... just don't bother. LOL

I don't direspect my console cousins. If anything, playing agaist them in cross-play has led me to believe they are the better survivors as they actually understand what their objective is rather than the PC survivor who seems focused on goofing off or whatever.

That's ok for you to say
What if they feel the game is not worth their time. They leave and get the DC penalty. If they do this, id often assumes they have done this a lot. They will have a lengthy DC timer.
If someone would rather leave then go through a game with toxic survivors (which we know there is no lack of in this game) then he can leave if he isn't going to get anything off it.
I'm just saying, it's a game. If you cannot handle people (killers) DC'ing when they don't enjoy the game whilst survivors do it all the time then that's on you.
I think a killer has as much right as a survivor to DC. And if my past 15 games are anything to go by, (most had 1 DC (9 of them) and 2 Had a 2 man DC) then a killer DC'ing is justified.
WRONG. DEAD WRONG. Stop excusing this behavior as there is no excuse for it. They entered the game, they should commit to it, PERIOD.
If tjhey can't enjoy occasionally getting an opponant they diislike, THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS PLAYING THE GAME IN TH E FIRST PLACE
This is not up for debate.
DCing just because they can't stand the game is an act of selfishness that screws over 4 other players. If they are so ######### selfish, then get the ######### out of multiplkayer games, uninstall DBD, and come back when they grow the ######### up
It's no more than fifteen minutes out of their night. It's not like we're asking for a full match of LOL or some other long game.

If it's not a game they enjoy, I can understand the DC.
If they load into the game, see two gens insta pop in 1 1/2 mins and they know they have two or more toolboxes, I understand the DC.
They weren't winning that.
If they aren't enjoying the game, then they should DC and bite the penalty
If they can't take an occasional bad game, they shouldn't even start the game to begin with. END OF STORY
-
Always expect NOED< always do the bones.
If it's in play, get the ######### out and don't feed the killer any more kills.
-
I rarely DC as killer (Key word, RARELY - that doesn't mean never)
If I do DC because I was fed up with the game, I never play again for the rest of the night. In most cases, I don't play again for several days. It's a personal rule of mine. DCing then restarting the game immediately is a line I will NEVER EVER CROSS. You'll note, I'm not blaming my opponant for driving me to DC. My mental state is something I should of been aware of. I never expect people to pull punches with me. So I never blame my DC on anybody but myself. I didn't recognize I shouldn't of started the game in the first place and that's on me.
I never DC as survivor. I have given up on the hook, but that's usually when somebody is about to attempt a REALLY DUMB save and I'm just gonna end up hook farmed. In those cases, I'd rather feed the killer a kill than my dumbass teammate points.
-
Survivors are not entitled to escape
Killer is not entitled to get kills.
You earn all of the above. Get good enough to achieve that or don't play.

Nurse was created to bypass most of the crazy stuff. I don't remember ever hitting a survivor through a window or pallet back then
There's actually a reason for that. If memory serves, the pallets used to do their collision check right at the start of the animation. The hit check was also further out from the pallet.
It was also possible for the killer to get stuck IN the pallet back then. The established protocol at the time was for survivors to cross the pallet repeatedly until the killer could get a grab would free them from the pallet - then the killer would let them go in exchange for getting them unstuck

Questions for veterans/DBD historians who have played since the beginning:
When did survivors start looping? Like around what month/year did it start becoming a common play style for survivors?
Were there individual players who discovered looping, or did it kind of just grow organically throughout the community?
Looping showed up early actually. However, it was much easier to do as the game had places were the survivor was truly safe if they paid even half-attention to what was going on (old ironworks loop, the old-school combine with the extra large haybail, ect).
We didn't have window blockers back then, and you could also do a fast vault from any angle and from even standing still. And many buildings used to have all their windows open (Like Wretched Shop - you used to get all the windows open on that one, which made catching anybody next to impossible as they could fast vault from standing still back then)
Killer shack also used to have second window if I remember right - right across from the one we see now. You think the killer shack is hard now? LOL
-
If you can't show enough courtesy to your fellow gamer by sticking it out for the team even if you don't like the match, you have no business in multiplayer games... PERIOD
In fact, do everybody in DBD a favor and leave - uninstall the game, never come back. I'd rather have a smaller pool of players than bunch of teammates that punk out when they get the tiniest bit of challenge.
Go find a game that suits you better.

Okay folks, calm down. i think the OP understands there are no rules.
However, there are little memes this community has developed that even some of the most hardcore among us dip in. I for one am a sucker for a pig snoot boop.
It's fallen out of favor, but occasionally you'll find an OG who still does this. In the first year of this game, there was something Admiral Bahroo used to do, and that was what he called the "Basement Lottery"
The idea is to take the last survivor into the basement if there's a chest left unopened in it. You smack the chest repeatedly till the survivor you're carrying takes the hint and wiggles off. Survivor then gets to open the chest for free to decide their fate.
if it's anything but a flashlight, smack the survivor down and put them on a basement hook. If its' a flashlight, bob your head up and down and let them blind you, then go help them find the hatch as they just won the lottery.
I've both won and lost this lottery in the past as a survivor, but I could never find a survivor who understood my intention when I've tried this myself - so I kinda gave up after awhile.
-
They're not slower
Did you switch to a taller killer or get a different monitor or something? I know that due to how perspective shifts, the camera hight will give you the illusion that a killer is faster or slower than they actually are.

Well there would not be many survivors left then =).
And camping/tunneling is not selfish ? Ruining someone's else trial without any reason just because the killer is frustrated is not bad at all ?
It looks like ppl here have a weird way of thinking.
Working toward your objective using all means available to you within the game is NOT selfish - it's playing the game
It's the whole reason you bought the game.
The purpose of a game that is adversarial such as this one, is to have the opportunity to play against an opponant who thinks like a human does and not a bot - and thus you can expect a greater challenge.
People who ragequit because they are actually getting challenged by somebody using all their tools effectively have no right to be playing adversarial games - they need to go find their niche elsewhere. I'm not saying that to be mean, edgy, or pissy.... it's a simple fact.
Funny thing is, you use the whole "there won't be survivors playing" as a threat. It's an empty threat to me. I'll take a smaller pool of opponents if me means the people I'm facing understand what they're getting into and don't punk out like bitches when they a little challenge. In fact, I'll be happy to join them as a survivor myself if it means I can count of them to not give up just because they actually have to put out a tiny bit of effort.
-
It's funny, play killer because I don't find survivor fun.
But my point of view is not what'd you'd think
You guys see campers, I see hook farmers
You guys see tunnelers, I see teammates that can't protect for #########.
At least as a killer, I can punish those bads hard.
-
I'll have to give Billy another look. But from what I've seen, I didn't think he got hit too hard. I mean, his mobility is still ######### incredible.
-
I'm not a professional when it comes to Mental Health. (I'm no doctor, I just play one with a bloody overcoat and a diabolical giggle)
However, I do know a little something about changing how you look at the events in a game because I used to take everything thrown at me in games personally.
The first thing you need to do is accept that some people (like myself) are going to always play hard and do our best to meet our objectives and thus use every trick in the book to do so. You need to look at these tactics not for the intent, but just a challenge to overcome
The way I deal with it is I focus on myself and my gameplay only. I look at the things that players do and do my best to NOT tie any meanings to them. Remember - this game has rituals and rift challenges that encourage people to play a certain way - tell yourself that they're just trying to get those extra bloodpoints from said challenges to through the bloodpoint grind a little easier.
If at any time something happens that causes me to miss my goal (I get stunned by head on, body blocks make me drop somebody, or I get blinded, ect), I trained myself to say aloud "nice one" then I ponder to myself what I should do next time somebody does one of these things to me. If I lose badly, I reflect back on the game and these mental notes of what I could of done better and remind myself that my gameplay wasn't perfect, so this was a fair result.
certain tactics in this game only have a toxic meaning to them because people arbitrarely put such labels on them. It's on us as players to separate that meaning and just look at these things for what they are - tools and nothing else.
Post game chat? turn it off if you feel like you can't deal with. I know sometimes I don't look at it and just move on. T-Bagging? I know it's trite, but you need to learn to ignore it. Look away if you can which I will often do at exit gates to deny the satisfaction (I often look down as I chase people out gates)
Above all else - if you ever feel yourself getting upset, put the game down and walk away. Before starting it, ask yourself if you are in the right mental state to do.
Games are for fun - and if this game isn't providing that to you, move on - it's not like we're hurting for choice in this day and age.
-
I respect that you understand your personal limit and applaud your decision to move on. More players need to do this and come back when they are mentally ready to deal with it.
Good luck on whatever you decide to do

We know there are many problems in the game, there wouldn't be so many DC/suicides on hook if it was not the case.
I see more survivors DCing/suiciding than killers DCing, it means a lot.
During the past two months i have seen 2 killers DCing and 2 going to a corner and waiting the end of the game.
I cannot count how many survivors i saw suicidng/DCing.
I'm playing everyday, 1 to 2 hours a day.
DC's and suicides are people who have so little self-awareness they don't realize they shouldn't be wasting their time on a game they obviously have no business playing because they are not enjoying themselves.

I agree with you but this works in SWF... i mean you know it as i do, soloQ survivors will suicide on hook if camped, they will P1 to P3 in 10 sec.
Yup, that's pretty much par for the course in multiplayer gaming. Some scrub is always going to do the least right thing out of selfishness.
Devs can't fix that. All you can do is push your hardest past people like this on your own. Or decide this just isn't for you and find something else to do.
-
They aren't going to look into the issue anymore than they have.
- they already add perks that give the killer power for leaving the hook
- they already punish the killer pip and point wise for camping the hook
Frankly, leaving the 1 person to rot is the best choice.
- The game is fast and short, so you don't have to put up with the camper long
- 3 out of the 4 survivors are guaranteed to get something
- The killer will eventually get the hint as his blood point income slows to a trickle in a game that is grindy as #########..
So what if 1 person doesn't have fun? there is no way you can guarantee that everybody is going to have fun in a game - that's a pipe dream. At least it's short. It takes only 2 minutes for that person to die. 2 minutes of your entire evening sitting on a hook. FFS, I microwave a breakfast sandwich in half that time. In 2 minutes, it's over and they can try their luck again.
