No, High MMR play actually represents a tiny fraction of the playerbase and this game isn't suitable for professional play. Ergo, there's no point in balancing for it.
-
Was it needed?: Yes, 60 seconds in the game is actually a long time (1 hook stage, 3/4ths of a solo gen, 1/4th of a bleed out on the ground). And if the survivor in question has enough time to throw a heal on somebody or work a gen... they don't feel pressured anymore and thus it can be safely concluded that in most case they are no longer being tunneled. This will cease punishing efficient killer's that weren't necessarely tunneling, just punishing really careless hook saves and hooking the other person first THAT FAST
Is it enough? For me it is
-
Nope... you're the fool falling for a trick
Additionally - there's nothing toxic about using perks or addins. They're in the game, it's fair to use them
-
I figured it was an April Fools joke
I don't expect the survivors to give me free hooks anymore than I expect the killer to just let me leave
-
And here's Frosty's daily "I can't handle a challenge in a game that's clearly pissing me off"
I mean, I could ######### daily about less-than-intelligent moves from my fellow survivors the past couple days... or all the unhook farmers I've run into. But who needs that negativity.
-
I once got Back-Camped by some trapper. He slugged me and just sat there and kept anybody from getting me up.
No, I don't know why - and I didn't ask. It's his perogative to throw the game and the entire match lasted all of 10 minutes out of a night where I probably played at least 2 hours. *shrug*
Sometimes you just have a ######### game - the reasons behind why somebody does something really doesn't matter.
-
I do play both sides, but it's likely the split is 2/3rds killer, or even as high as 3/4ths killer.
I'd play survivor more, but I really hate dealing with random teammates. I'd SWF, but I'm picky about who I SWF with - I can't stand people who constantly whine about the game balance or what the killer is doing when we're playing.
-
1/10 for this bait post. Only reason I didn't give you a zero is because you used a topic that will trigger some people into responding without reading or thinking. But unfortunately it's so low-effort, it's blindingly obvious what you are up to if you actually take a half a second to think about it
-
Because there is perfectly logical and strategic reasons to not leave the hook in some situations
Examples
- All the generators are done and you now have somebody on the hook. It's logical to me to camp the hook in that situation as player greed will pull them away from the safety of the exit gates to "Be the hero " and get those oh so juicy Altruism points.
- The last couple hooks some dipshit rescued the victim before the killer had taken 5 steps away. At this point, somebody on the survivor team has established a pattern of behavior and most thinking people are going to expect a survivor to be nearby at that point and start looking for them
- The hook is in a nice and close 3 gen (more of a soft camp at that point). No reason to go very far from the hook at that point unless somebody grows a pair and pressures the killer away by doing one of those nearby
- Killer has another person slugged nearby. Half the survivor team is now occupied now and they now have the upper hand. There's no reason for them to leave.
Frankly, people need to stop whining about camping and learn to counter it because it can be counterplayed with smart play. And honestly, I'm not seeing survivors on giving killer's free hooks on purpose, why should killers give survivors a chance in return
It's a PVP game, rise above the challenge and get better. Of find another game. This game is almost 6 years old now and people have been bitching about this since day 1. Give up already, nothing is going to change, deal with it.
-
Guys, this is Frosty. This person has one of these posts on a daily basis, just check their history.
They live on this forum just to whine and complain about how they are getting challenged in a game they are clearly not enjoying themselves in.
Don't be mad at this person - pity them for not having the good sense to move on and find something else to have fun in.
-
Same was done with Doc too. And honestly, I think he's better for it.
-
I respect your decision. If only people did that with certain AAA titles that come out like crap
That being said I took advantage of the sale today and caught up the handful of killers I was missing from taking such a long break the past few months. I got some catching up to do.
-
Don't blame the devs. Blame the double-standards of my countrymen that seem to think violence is okay, but nobody should swear or talk about sex.
-
they have every right to excress their displeasure, you want them to shut up? ######### make them or sit the ######### down.

Except every content creator has said he is trash, its not just one. And me having 1.5k hours can tell just by reading the kit, he is trash. There is no reason to play him over plague, or huntress, or deathslinger who can get downs much faster with their power. The reason huntress and deathslinger work is that you cant just tightly hug a loop to completely counter them, they only require one hit to get an injure or down with their power. Trickster requires 8 and on top of that, if he doesn't hit you after a few seconds, you lose the damage you gain on them. 110% movement on a killer that requires 8 hits is not a good idea.
Doesn't make what I said about mindless sheep who can't think for themselves wrong. I'm just pointing out that many will based theri judgement on that and nothing else - so good luck changing their minds
I personally don't have an opinion on him yet as I have yet to try him for myself. That being said, I can't help but draw conclusions between Him and Plague on release - and can't help but speculate he may need to get 115 speed to be competitive
-
It doesn't matter if you bring a strong build or weak build - people who are pissed about losing are going to be salty
Haters gotta Hate.
Stop caring and just play your game man.
-
Gonna be a hard sell for the sheep who just parrot the opinion of a certain fog-whisperer because they can't think for themselves.

Don't play the Trickster then. People also called Freddy bad and then he turned into one of the easiest Killers to play in the game because of a few people whining about it before even giving anyone a chance to learn the new Killer.
Freddy was released Oct 2017. His major rework hit PTB July 2019. People were given a year to figure him out.
It wasn't just people whining about how weak he was - the disconnect rate against him was astronomically high. He wasn't fun for either side.
Please get your fact straights before you present misinformation.
-
Mine was up to 100 before they dropped it.
-
Actually, I'll walk back a little of what I said previously
If I walked all over a team but they GG first, then I will assume it's out of politeness and I'll return it.
But that's usually the only time you'll see me GG in a lopsided game
-
Good on you for not pushing yourself to continue in something you are clearly not enjoying. I wish more people had the self-awareness and wisdom to do that. I wish you luck whereever you may end up.

you included I assume right survivor main I'm guessing. I have 14 posts because i don't live on the forums like you and 90% of everyone else sitting trying to discredit valid points. BTW who are you to say who deserves to be on the game is it because i have a differing opinion than you or is it because i'm a console gamer and you feel superior because of other "small" problems in your life. this game is dying and it's at the hands of the devs 45k out of 5 mil steam users isn't nothing to sneeze at but a lot to laugh at. also to the guy who said top 20 isn't bad weell that's because there isn't anything atm to compete with once there is and its well balanced this game dies.
Yes, I'm such a terrible person for having a lot of free time while logged in at work. ######### horrible isn't it? It's so terrible that I want to share what I've learned about myself and the hobby we all enjoy and how maybe people need to just let go of something they aren't compatible with.
BTW, difference of opinion doesn't mean you're not allowed to have it, it just means I think you have a terrible one. So lose the attitude.
-
Yes.... I miss a LOT with Oni more so than any other killer.
I'm thinking it's the height that's throwing me off.
-
Make it a soft ban by offering blood point bonuses for not slotting the banned perks.
The plural is intentional, there should be several perks in rotation every week.

Deep breath, dude. In for count of 3, hold for 2, breathe out. It's just a game.
I am calm. I'm just sick of people doing things out of habit without putting any thought into what they are doing or saying.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that.
I hate trying to guess what people are thinking. Too many masks and dishonesty out there. I prefer things in the open and literal.
-
I mean, I guess you could run Iron Maiden to screw with these types if you really want too.....
Believe it or not, I'm actually being a little serious.
My only real annoyance with the perk is it's hitbox is REALLY GENEROUS. So even when you know it's coming and you're trying to ignore the survivor by going around, they can often hit you anyway.
-
In fact, let me put it this way
Saying GG out of habit is ######### meaningless man.
If I tell you GG win or lose, I really ######### mean it. If I won and said GG, I felt like you made me work for that win. If I GG on a loss, you did something brilliant that turned the tables on me and you have my respect.
But saying it "just because" Feh... Those are dime a dozen and mean nothing to me.
Say it because you mean it, not because it's "polite"
-
I usually say nothing if it was a one-sided slaughter. I know personally that a GG, even said in respect, really stings when I know it wasn't really a good game.
Frankly, I prefer an honest "OMG, YOU SUCK LOL" to a dishonest "GG". And Saying GG when the game was lopsided is just dishonest.
Say nothing man.
As aside, the last dishonest GG a team who slaughtered me tried to be nice, I understood that. But I told them straight up "No, it wasn't a GG. I got my ass handed to me. I need to get better because evidently I suck" and left.

2/10 Not enough effort has been put into this bait post.
anybody with half a brain can name 3 things off the top of their head that counters multiple flashlights.

I’m literally a rank 1 survivor and rank 3 killer that has played this game for almost 2 years and this is the one damn issue I have with the game. Sorry that I want the biggest issue with the game I have sunk hundreds of hours into solved that way I can fully enjoy this game.
And I sunk literally 19 thousand battles (I know because i can pull up my old battle logs) into a game that I realized far too late I was not enjoying and used to rage at. I've been out of it for years now and have been made a better man. Your time sunk fallacy is meaningless. As McCote once told us and took flak for "take a break".
I've put over a thousand hours into this game too. Difference is, I accept things aren't going to change and I can't change the behaviors of others - so I just take it as just another challenge to overcome. (especially given that these things CAN be overcome)
If this isn't in a challenge you can deal then you really should just walk away and find another game. There's no shame in it. Not everybody likes Monster Hunter, Sekiro, or Dark Souls. I certainly can't expect everybody to handle the challenges of DBD either.

I never said it’s killing the game, I said its ruining the game and there is a difference. Camping and hard tunneling ruins the game for a lot of people but they don’t quit because they still find the game fun when they are not tunneled and camped. Also almost everyone I have recommended this game to has refused to play it because of these issues. They refuse to even try it because they have heard about face camping and hard tunneling and are disgusted that it is in the game so they don’t want to try it. So many more people would not only try the game for the first time but a lot of players that quit would also come back if these issues were addressed. It benefits almost everyone if camping and hard tunneling are removed yet the devs don’t do anything about it.
You start out by saying "I didn't say that" but you imply it later in your run-on paragraph about people will not try the game.
You're implying it's going to die.
Dude, given you're post history, the game is already ruined for you. Just move on and stop making yourself miserable because nothing is going to change.

He only has 14 posts to be fair. As all they are is whining, believe it's time he just gives up and finds another game
We have too many people who have no business in this game and he looks like one of them.
-
I know right, we've been complaining about this since day 1 - that's why it's in TOTAL DECLINE.
Just check out these graphs over the lifetime of the game!
This game is totally dying
BTW... I'm joking in case you haven't figured out. But you folks need to stop this "it's killing the game" argument because if camping and tunneling was going to kill this game, it would of done so by now.
It peaks as new content comes out or they have a free weekend, then it drops down to it's average of between 20k to 40k depending on what region is playing.
I'll leave everybody else to explain all the reasons why you need to GET GUD
BTW, so you can't accuse me of doctoring the picture, here's the source.https://steamcharts.com/app/381210#All

"Witch Hunting" and "Naming And Shaming" are frowned upon as it calls for action on something you don't have good evidence for. And as somebody who has played 100% legit but still dealt with Hacking accusations, I believe this to be the right call.
"Witch Hunting" falls under the prohibition against multi-platform harassment which will most definitely get you banned.
BTW - never speak of "He Who Must Not Be Named". He's pedophile trash whose channel needs to die - and people need to stop feeding him analytics by even typing his name.

Most anti tunnel anti camp perks don’t work against pyramid head because his power effectively respawns you across the map. Even though he can find the cages I don’t think he is supposed to, which is why they move if he finds them (though he can still game that system by proxy camping it instead of getting too close). So in theory he’s giving up his ability to camp and tunnel off the hook in exchange for not dealing with meta perks. It plays out a bit differently in practice but is a very healthy design instead of the current hook camping that exists now.
For why BT should work in a fixed range, I had a miracle solo Q game against a forever Freddy the other day. We got all the gens done, expending almost every pallet to do so. The last guy got chased in a dead zone and went into the basement.
It took three attempts with literally the entire team tanking hits to get an awake survivor into the basement for a BT save and the cycle of trading was only stopped because of a key and the hatch being right near the basement.
The fact you can’t even trade against a Freddy while the team resets is ridiculous and it applies to killers like Bubba as well. They took away rev camping but somehow still made him 10x better at camping.
So we have a couple killers that are good at camping, so let's punish the rest the 20+ killers because of these edge cases? Really?
Listen, I get it it, it's sucks that certain people hook farm - but put the blame on your dumbass teammates not the killers.
But let me tell you something - you know what will happen if you set it to Radius based? People will get bolder about quick unhooks. Do you know what happen when killers get barraged with fast unhooks? They start getting slower at leaving hooks because they start to anticipate it. If nothing else, you're going to push more killers into camping.
BT is in a good spot right now. It stops all but the most hardcore and only has a problem with a few edge cases that need to be looked into. It gives you a chance against most of the roster without taking away the danger of going for the unhook.
Let me tell you something, setting BT to radius will make getting a last minute sacrifice with the gates open next to impossible in most cases - and if there was ever a time to be justified in camping - that's it right there.

Its also weird though how any person can actually counter the anti camp perk BY camping. *Insidious intensifies*
Yah, funny how that works. It's almost as if the devs are trying to make us understand that camping is completely allowed. Especially if the situation might call for it.
People should be just doing the goddamn gens if somebody is camped anyway.

Hard to tell how many of these posts are serious these days. So many people think they're being clever with bait/troll posts these days when all they're doing is just adding to the noise we have to filter out.

One of my favorite perks at the moment is Surveillance. I use it in my Piggy build so I can get easy grabs when people touch my gens.

Borroweds existance is to give the survivor a chance though without being on the ground a second later isnt it? Its a anti camp/tunnel perk and if a killer can just avoid it by playing freddy then its not even giving that survivor a chance but they just die because the killer "outplayed the perk". What by playing freddy?
It's as I stated before, not every perk is a 100 percent effective against all killers. It doesn't matter what the perk's purpose is. Just look at Decisive Strike which is anti-tunnel - Pyramid Head hard-counters that one as well.
Making it radius based would just encourage fast-rescues in the face of the killer which many would consider to be unhealthy gameplay as it disempowers the power-role.
Certain things in this game delete other mechanics. This is nothing new. Hell, look at my grinning Avatar - do you think that guy gives a ######### about Stealth play? No, he deletes it from the game. Nurse doesn't know what a pallet is.
Freddy himself is a mess, nobody will deny that. But let's focus on the killer itself, not the perk that is perfectly fine.

I don't know if this perk is underrated but I would bring up Whispers.I haven't watched much DBD content on YouTube lately so I don't know if a lot of people play it but in my opinion Whispers is the best information perk in the game. I use it to find survivors even faster in the beginning, it helps against people who play too immersed, it helps knowing at which exit gate the last survivor is, you can to sneaky little things like waiting that Whispers turns on while standing on the hatch for example. A lot of people say they don't play it because Whispers is a beginner perk and with enough game knowledge you don't need it (which is "kinda" true) but I always say it is quite hard to use for beginners because they can't assess 32m most of the time and it just feels awesome to have. For me Whispers is my all time favorite perk and I think a lot of people underestimate the value of it.
Whispers seems to be a staple among Docs as it has excellent Synergy with his Static Blast..
-
The way Haunted Grounds interacts with Undying doesn't feel intended to me. I suspect that won't be a thing forever.
-
You need to add HOPE to that list of perks that you can run to help against NOED.
People keep forgetting about that one. NOED Gives the killer a 4 percent speed boost. But Hope boosts the survivors 7% which help nullify NOED's speed boost. Not a hard-counter, but might help you get to that next window when you're trying to get away.
This game gives you so many ways to deal with things you don't like... flippin' run them. Hell, Hag was the biggest reason I ran Urban Evasion for the longest time till I "got gud" vs her.
-
People don't appreciate HOPE enough
At level 3, it makes you almost as fast as a 110% speed killer, and it gives you a fighting chance against NOED
-
0/10
Obvious Troll is Obvious
BTW - when the game was released NOED was just as it was, just not a Hex Perk. So there was no way to make it go away. It was later nerfed to 2 minute duration, then it was reverted to it's old power but made a Hex.
Frankly, this is the best version of NOED we've ever had. Hell, Hell, a little-used survivor perk, Hope, completely nullifies NOED's speed boost.

Unless your a freddy or wraith then you really don't passively care about bt and can kinda just do whatever ya want.
And neither does Wraith, or MnA/Rabbit Myers. Not every perk should be 100 percent effective against every killer IMO
-
I think having it based on Terror Radius is the better call as it allowed for some counterplay against careless hook-farmers. The killers who do it because they don't know better usually don't understand the game well enough to manipulate it, so it does it's job just fine against the ones who do need to be trained better.
Frankly, there's nothing worse in th is game than people fearlessly unhooking because of borrowed time as the killer is just starting to walk away. It turns the perk into yet another layer of protection instead of the intended anti-tunneler perk. It takes the fear out of the hook and killer and I don't think that's good for the role.
-
If you want a "chill mode", then find a different game because this one isn't always going to deliver that. In fact, Most PvP games aren't going to deliver that.
This is not a put down or anything either - it's a mentality I put on myself. If I'm not in the mood to be competitive, I don't play DBD. I find something I can take it easy in.
-
Given it's being aimed at an Asian playerbase, you can probably expect a very strong "Pay to Win" model. I'd be cautious with that one.
-
8/10 for the Troll/bait Post.
Not bad - I almost bought it.
-
I need to put this in a document so I can cut and paste this....
There are 4 of you.... and doing gens is so braindead easy.
Gens can be done in 80 seconds
it takes literally 120 seconds to die on first hook
Again, there are four of you. If the hook is being camped, then the killer should lose AT LEAST 2 gens.
Hell, Is aw it in action today - camping Legion walked away with zero kills because we focused on gens (including me being cheeky and doing one near the nook to entice him away far enough for teammates to rescue the first hook AFTER we popped 2 gens)
By the time this Legion got a second hook on a fully healthy survivor, we just pounded out the last gen, opened a door, healed everybody up, then the 3 of us bum-rushed the hook. I faked the save and took the first hit, the other two tanked for the injured. ALL OF US GOT OUT IN SOLO Q
Camping is VERY DEFEATABLE. ######### get good.
