  • @Fibijean Actually no, its not. Just tested it on KYFs, if the last Survivor opens the hatch and you try to close it when they do, you're not physically fast enough to close it before the game ends.

And from what I read at the end, it sounded like he means the last solo Survivor. If we're talking 2 or more, than yeah you're right.

@PhantomMask20763 If you do this with two or more Survivors, than yes the EGC will activate. If it WAS possible to do it with the solo Survivor, the EGC would also activate. But its not, you're not fast enough to do it.

  • @PhantomMask20763

Pretty sure that isn't possible because the animation to dive into the hatch once it's open, and the animation for when the hatch closes is so fast that it doesn't give you enough time to do so.

@FireHazard Well, the latest 24 hour peak for Deathgarden is 159 players. To give a comparison, Friday the 13th on Steam peaked at 644 in the past 24 hours.

Even new modes aren't helping Deathgarden, I mean, why would Behavior try new modes over here, then, when churning out a paid DLC every three months, and soon a new paid Battlepass every 3 months in-between chapters, seems to be working for them.

Why pump real money back into the game for new game mode development and such, when they're probably working on their next success like Deathgarden was. 😂🤣

I don't know, less effort needed to gain more profit?

They're most likely only doing it at Deathgarden at the moment because that game needs all the help it can get to stay afloat... DBD isn't really on a decline either at the moment, we're still far above what the charts at 2016 started off with...

  • @Coriander said:

They get angry no matter what. I managed to evade someone for about thirty seconds and they stood there at hook hitting me over and over. I never crouch and while it's rare I attempt a flashlight save I've never succeeded with the new system. I usually get the blind but they never drop.

You have to do it right when the animation is almost over, its kinda an odd conception to go with compared to how it used to be but that's the only real way I've gotten it off more than once in a Trial...

Most people (like me) just face a wall though when they pick a Survivor up, making the mechanic completely pointless in that case...

  • Odd how Mobile gets it first before PC users...

I feel betrayed all of a sudden...?

  • No its not, its a very niche perk at best that works on occasion. For me personally, it only really buys a Survivor a few seconds more to continue a loop but that's about it.

I've never encountered a game where a Head On proc costed me a chase, its just to extend a chase and that's about it.

If Killers get mad over Head On, than I don't know... git gud? Like, its not something that's even hard to avoid when you're aware that a Survivor has it, once I know a Survivor has it, it won't work on me again because I fake out locker checks when I know they're in a locker.

  • Yes but that's a temporary lunge increase that only Michael Myers can achieve with his Tier lll.

That's the only exception, what hes talking about is general lunge distance. Michael Myers is the only one that really ignores these rules in Tier l and Tier lll, Tier ll is normal like with every other Killer.

  • @NullSp3c

They do actually, the developers can still read the posts without it coming off that they did. Most suggestions and or feedback however gets put into general discussions due to that part of the forums having the most people to discuss about the topic there.

That doesn't mean anything in the feedback and suggestions sub-forum is ignored, they do check into it from time to time. Its just that most people, like I said, post in the general discussion sub-forum because that's where the majority go to discuss topics.

Its also the best place to get something across to the developers if memory serves, due to how much traction a topic can get there if enough people talk about it. (Though sometimes, this isn't always the case actually.)

So to answer your question, yes they do get heard, but its more common to have stuff in the general discussions forum to get heard more due to how much traction a post can get over than compared to the designated sub-forum that's made for it...

  • @Groxiverde as @Judgement stated, they changed up how lunges work for other Killers to finally be the same across all of them.

It used to be where some Killers like Nurse and Spirit had shorter lunges than their weapons lead on... So for example, i'd always undershoot all the time when phasing out with Spirit because the sword leads me to believe the lunge is farther than it actually is...

Same with Nurse with her blinks, but now they changed it up to be more even for every Killer (Which is how it should be tbh...)

I find Freddy a little closer to Hag than Trapper, and to Doctor for that matter.

Overall what I hate about Freddy though is the severe framerate drop of the Dream World. I realize people with good PCs have no issue with this, but peasants like me find it really problmeatic. It's why Freddy is my most hated killer right now.

Not to sound rude, but BHVR can't always dumb down FPS and graphics because some people can't or refuse to upgrade their rigs...

Not everything they release can be akin to the likes of 144p in quality because anything above that slows down a players 1999 windows xp laptop...

(That sounded like shade at the end, but I was just throwing a joke in there.)

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard Funny you mention a 2v8 mode. Deathgarden has introduced a 2v10 mode that they've been live testing on Sundays over there. I don't play the game, but I like to keep up on its info.

Their Devs say they also have a few other new game modes to test out in the coming months.

Deathgarden, a game averaging 230 peak players a day, has new game modes. Meanwhile, DbD, which peaks at near 30k daily players on PC, operates the opposite way: no new modes, but a regular flow of paid DLCs and soon: battlepass.

I'd actually buy and try Deathgarden, but their player count keeps going backwards at such a rate that I'm not sure it has much longer.

Now if only they did that sort of development over here...

I mean, the DLC's was in the store after a hour when the update launches, but since it is in the store now, then maybe we will have it in the same time.

Most likely yeah, I think they did that for this one because of the hype around it. Makes sense, they want everyone that's hyped for it to get it as quick as possible.

  • @Ihatelife said:

@QuickStiQz It can be also about 11AM EST, devs sometimes put the update about this time.

I've never seen new DLC come out at 11AM?

Its usually in the afternoon when most of them roll around, maybe on the rare occasion that has happened... But most of them that I've seen roll up around 2 to 3PM EST timezone.

And yeah @Ihatelife its in the store right now for convenience, that usually happens to some DLC also. It can be bought when the update rolls around.

  • @QuickStiQz

It will definitely be 3PM EST timezone or after, that's usually when new DLC rolls around.

  • To be fair, it was just rank reset like 3 days ago...

And i'm surprised Rank 20s - Rank 15s are "looping insanly good" and doing everything Red Ranks do... Wheres that when rank reset rolls around and I play Killer? I just get potatoes...

Wish I could give your friend the potatoes, and i'll take the tryhards.

  • I agree with all these points, especially ormound, the map in-general is horribly optimized...

And YES! Someone finally talking about billys phantom chainsaw hits...

The Shrine really does need an update for how many perks there are these days, even if they increase the shard costs... it would still be better than waiting literally weeks for the specific perks you want...

It needs a more modern spin on it, hopefully after Dedicated Servers they'll consider a change for it.

  • @bigxangelx1 Let me just answer it without having to wait for an answer on the question above.

The best I can find on this issue is that it is a common console issue, especially on xbox, and the best suggestions it gives is to try to sign out and sign back in, reset your console, see if the console has any updates, or uninstall and reinstall the application. Usually uninstalling and reinstalling the game sometimes works.

Hopefully the suggestions I put above will help, if not, try searching around more for the issue, as it seems to be a niche issue, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the xbox one you have, it could be because it a older model and can't handle the game.

OR it could be because the game in-general isn't optimized well on console (which isn't a surprised) and can't handle the game...

  • Hard to chase Survivors when your ears are being blasted by volumes as high as the Lampkin Lane glitched audio...

Now there was something that surpassed 100% audio... Jeez...

  • @bigxangelx1 One more thing before I can answer this question, is the Xbox fairly new? Like is it past the first few generations, or is it one of the first xbox ones that were released?

  • @Mochan said:

Why are you starting a rank reset thread when you seem to hate them?

  • @starinavik

That doesn't seem to be possible, you won't fully break the generator until the bar is completely full. You'll know its broken when you hold the space bar until the kicking animation is done and the iconic static noise plays after it is damaged, indicating that it is indeed damaged now.

Its best to just hold the space bar until it is clearly damaged when it starts spewing electricity. Once you get used to it you can just time when it will finish and move onto a chase or the other gens.

Once it is fully damaged, you'll be rewarded the 100 brutality points.

This is what a generator looks like after it has been damaged by holding the space bar for long enough.

I'm well aware. The same thing happened to Mettle of Man which I never even got to use in its original form because I didn't play the PTB. By the time I bought Ash and unlocked that perk, it was already dead due to waves of complaints on the forums

If the majority disagrees with something, and complains hard enough on the forums...

It'll get nerfed until niche or buried. Like Legion, Like Mettle of Man. Mettle of Man was annoying but, now literally nobody uses it... NOBODY!

  • For Killer there's nothing I can really say I don't do effectively within the Killers limitations. (That doesn't mean i'm a god...)

For Survivor, I can't loop very well. Its only on loops where I can't see the Killer if its the basic Tiles. Like L-Wall and T-Wall are fine, but if its one of the Jungle Gyms I get clocked in the jaw by a Killers blade sometimes.

I don't think this is true for dedicated.

during the PTB there were times that I was in a lobby with other people and we were waiting for the killer to join us.

If memory serves, this is what I heard from the anniversary live-stream and before that also.

Just going off of that, since i'm pretty sure I remember hearing that, as it was one of the reasons I took a break for awhile, the match making being so... long...

  • Lobbys are created by Killers, not the other way around.

SWFs will still be the same in dedicated servers, nothing different. You'll still make a lobby with a SWF THAN they search for a lobby that a Killer has created.

Killers are the ones that have the lobbys open, Survivors just join, same with SWF.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard Trust me, I empathize. You and so many other Vets lament that DbD needs some new game modes, or any real changes, to spice things up again.

Meanwhile, many of us Overwatch vets suffered from the opposite. We had arcade modes added like Free-For-All death match and Mystery Heroes, the workshop for creating our own wide variety of custom games (the Overwatch Dead by Daylight modes are really fun), we get three new heroes with entirely new kits and three new maps per year at no additional cost.

We don't have to grind. The point of the game is learning Heroes, learning the heroes to counter specific other heroes, and simply improving. When to hero swap, who to swap to, et cetera.

Then came the latest change: RoleQ in early September, which forced a 2-2-2 team composition in every match with us having to queue as a specific role. And the wife and I hated it. No more could you swap roles with someone else in a match because they weren't doing so well at it, and you could step in, while maybe they assumed your role. Sometimes, whether I went Tank, Damage, or Support depended on the map. I was better at certain roles on certain maps. Well, that's out the window, because like in DbD, you don't know what map you have until after you queue-up and get into the match.

So, while DbD players need more changes and options, over in Overwatch the changes finally got to be too much and destroyed a lot of fun in the game. For many people.

    It's a dangerous, double-edged sword.

I really don't know yet where I'll end-up as far as what I play. I doubt my days with OW are truly over, so I'll probably hover between DbD, F13, and a little OW.

The main problem I have with DbD is ranking up. While it might get slower at the upper ends, right now it is far too easy to rank up for me. I've played survivor three times in my life, outside of tonight where I did two new survivor matches. I double pipped both matches and am almost at Rank 18 already.

    In two matches.

The problem I have is that I rank-up faster than I feel I'm learning the game, or can get enough bloodpoints to really unlock stuff. I get to Rank 15 as Killer, and matchmaker starts going wonky and I am facing a lot more decked-out Vets, and then I have to stop playing for a month or two and let rank reset hit. Why? Because I'm not ready to face them. My matches prove that to me. Yet, getting to Rank 15-12 and those de-reanked, decked-out Vets is so damned easy that it turns trying to learn game into more of a question of: Why do I have this installed again?

You should try Red Rank (Rank 1-4) complete tryhard city, no fun allowed, everyones serious.

Yes, that's where I feel I get the best experience from, but its not really fun to play there. By experience, I mean people that're in my skill bracket are there, sadly, its mostly inhabited by players that couldn't embrace a meme or two if you payed them to...

What I play for now, is the reactions I get from using stealth Killers. While I do play every single killer, I my favorites revolve around stealth. That's why I main Myers, it gives me the best reactions when playing him in a match. Even Ghost Face is fun to play, despite being a Myers clone whos just shorter... and can crouch...

Regardless, you just have to find your fun in this game at the moment. And if you don't maybe the game is either wearing thin for you, or you haven't found it yet.

Also, trust me, ranking up was way worse a fair chunk of months ago. You could get to Rank 1 with literally zero effort, and most Red Rankers are potatoes... now its less potatoes, and more... "serious gameplay" fun... at least the potatoes knew how to have fun. And yes, having too many game-modes and features can really make or break a game, I feel having none though isn't really benefiting DBD... I'd at least like to see a 2nd objective for Survivors, or a 2v8 with 2 Killer and 8 Survivors MAN WOULD THAT BE FUN!

So many memes... so much potential...

I think your misunderstanding something here.

By giving this perk a secondary effect, that will be it's main effect you take away from it's farming nature.

Expecially if the usage can only be gained by not farming others. Yes not everyone plays in swf but there are gesture keys for a reason. By giving it a secondary effect, one that's active in game your giving it a use, and whilst people may use it mainly for the bloodpoints because let's be honest shortening the grind is a desire we all share, having it have a use promotes a playstyle similar to how bbq and chilli promotes finding survivors and being active, wglf would promote the survival of survivors (a category often overlooked in the emblem system) by giving locational information.

Hell an even better alternative is to not give yourself the aura reading, but your unhooked buddy. Let them see the killer and know which direction to head in order to be safe.

Hows this, if they changed it to have both Players see the Killer for a distinct amount of time, than it would cut down on farming while also helping the unhooked Survivor.

Even if you try to farm a Survivor, they'll get the aura reading. So unless they unhook you right next to the survivor, they'll be fine. Even if they do that, its considered trolling since you actively know the Killer is there... and you did it to just get a WGLF stack... so...

Its good for both Survivors in-exchange for the risk of unhooking a Survivor, it'd be great for stealth builds also and its not too OP for people to disagree with.

    A win, win.

  • Rank reset, also the match making isn't the greatest at this moment in time.

  • @Firepaul19

Honestly, if Survivors are brought back into trials on a daily basis... Its safe to say Death as a whole has no grasp in The Entitys plain of existence.

Truly, nobody ever dies here, its just an endless purgatory for anyone who is unfortunate enough to catch The Entitys eye, and is set into this place.

Its more akin to something like ACTUAL purgatory, than it is to anything Death has a grasp on. Survivors and Killers are just toys in a game that will never truly end... A endless game of cat and mouse that The Entity enjoys so much...

  • The match making in the game is currently not the best... and with hopes of Dedicated Servers, this should be better in the future.

Its not uncommon to be paired with people that're in Red Ranks or Purple Ranks if you're say... in Green Ranks. But what you're also experiencing with how they do in said games, could possible just be the best that bracket has to offer.

If you're in Green Ranks, you'll commonly get potatoes, its even worse in Yellow or Grey, this is due to those Ranks being more "noobie" so its expected. If you do get to Purple or Red Ranks, you'll see a drastic increase in player skill when you go solo.

At the end of the day though, solo survivor is a treacherous journey, due to how common it is for communication to fall flat on its face... when there isn't any in-general lol.

  • @bigxangelx1

It could be the age of the xbox, and or the abuse its gone through in the past.

What I mean is, it could be an actual issue with the xbox itself where it can't render or process certain things that're happening in-game for DBD or other games also. This could be because the xbox is just old and has seen better days, or something in the past is causing it to fail.

You can try seeing if its the xbox itself that's having issues at a local retailer (somewhere that isn't gamestop if you're lucky, if no place like this exists that does console repairs, gamestop does.)

I must ask though, is this only with DBD? Or does other games do this as well as of late?

  • I guess people think they can salvage what they can and Survivor/Get a sacrifice, but if they see afterwards that they can't, they will just rage-quit out of pure genuine anger.

Until Dedicated Servers are a thing, you'll still see people do this in moderation to avoid the ban... And it was actually a big issue for me for a few days at a time... I'm glad we're getting closer to Dedicated Servers being finished.

And theres no real reason to contest the arguement on a forum post that has no one really arguing against it though? Like some people may complain yes, but at the same time people complain about most things in life sadly.

And to address the point that it encourages farming i'd like to subtely disagree. if you see the killers aura (lets just say outside of terror radius distance for sake of arguement) you can point that out to your buddy you just unhooked to either follow you away in the opposite direction, or point in the direction of the killer to let them know where not to go in order to not be farmed.

And if you truly believe this change would encourage farming you could tie it only to safe hook saves = granting the aura reading later on after as a subtle warning for your good dead in order to avoid the killer.

Not everyone plays in a SWF, and if you're actively unhooking people to just get stacks, why would you even mention where he is in the first place? Don't most farmers run away from the area after they got what they wanted?

Even if they point towards where the Killer is, the scenario could have that be pointless if the Killer was literally 10 meters away when this happened. Also, some Survivors probably won't even know what you're pointing at anyways...

I can agree that its just a niche benefit if you're actively helping others with it, but it could also just cause more of what people don't want to happen. I guess you could say that people will want to have you stay safe until the safe unhook happens? But by then, if the Killer is far away enough the safe unhook will happen anyways...

And I wasn't really contesting anything, the post was mainly a joke until you thought I was serious and I didn't know what to say after lmao.

  • Here we go again...

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard I honestly have nothing additional to add. You've managed to state my own point of view on the game exactly how I feel about it. And I don't have anywhere near 1k hours in the game. To be honest, unless some sort of new game modes . . . or something . . . are added, I'm probably just here, again, until I get my little fix playing my favorite horror icons. Then it's back to another game for months.

I like DbD, but this game is just way too repetitive. And having played MMOs as my primary game genre from 1999-2016 (with some ARPGs on the side), I'm long since over the whole grinding aspect to the degree that DbD does it. I did that for 17 years, starting with EQ1 when it launched.

As much as I want to like DbD more, and as often lately as I've considered that maybe it could become my new primary game since I don't like RoleQ in Overwatch, I manage to play about 3 or 4 matches on a given night, and then logout. And sometimes it's a few days before I login again. I look at it in my Steam library, hover over the play button, and then think about just doing gens as a survivor or what playing killer is, and it's a 50/50 shot if I actually launch the game.

I think they really do believe that DLC after DLC will be enough to grow the player base. I believe that's why we've had three licensed DLCs in a row: Ash, Ghostface, Stranger Things. The last time they did them in a row like that was Leatherface, Freddy, and SAW back in September 2017 through January 2018. And looking at Steamcharts for PC (since we can't get console numbers on the consumer side of things), it did grow their average player base by roughly 2k over that time.

Maybe their Steam numbers, combined with their console numbers, and very soon to be their Switch numbers, are enough for them. I certainly hope the console numbers vastly dwarf the PC numbers, though. Because according to articles out there, as of May 2019 DbD sold over 5 million copies. Well, unless consoles vastly outnumber PC by an extremely wide margin, their retention is not that great.

I too just play few games now as of late. Mainly due to what I have said already, its also because I don't want to complete the game and literally have nothing else to do with it after.

I like DBD, but the goals are stretched thin here, I don't really have anything else to do once I P3-50 everything, and even then that's a massive grind to get there. Anyone, even if you like grinding, would most likely get tired of it before they even reach that goal...

Perhaps in the future, if we're lucky... we'll get something new to do in this game. Because I really do love this game, but its hard to stay knowing i'll be doing the same things, the same tricks, the same objectives, over and over again. Ask any Legacy players, or even players from 2017. They either don't play anymore, or will say the same things. I do enjoy the conversations in the community (despite a lot of them being complaints) so that's why you'll find me here a lot more often now than in-game. But who knows, that could change from me either being bored or something new. (Like the DLC for a short time if its DLC...)

Its kinda sad I guess, but as stated its not our game to change, we're just interlopers on someones concept, that's about it really...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/689216#Comment_689216

No offense in anyway, but I find this BBQ vs WGLF arguement very contradicting. Here's my reasoning behind this...

    BBQ Arguement:

"The aura reading reduces camping, so BBQ is fine. It benefits both the killer and the survivor."

    WGLF Arguement:

"Nah, don't add this suggestion to WGLF, even through it reduces farming and it's a serious issue for survivors."

Everyone complains about how WGLF encourages farming, which is understandable, so why is a suggestion that reduces farming a problem? If BBQ prevents camping, why is a perk suggestion that reduces the survivors' equivalent of camping a problem? :(

We both want the same thing here, and the survivor is sacrificing a perk. I just think it's fair to give them something that helps them get a safe unhook - it's the core goal of the perk. :)

It was more satire in nature than it was a personal issue for me. I really don't care if you see my aura when you get a WGLF stack, i'll still find you. And if I don't I'll move on, I wont survey the area for hours looking for someone who might not even be there.

The main point of my post was to point out the little things people usually flame over that're not even a big deal. Take NOED for example, its fairly easy to counter, but people intentionally don't choose to counter it, so they come here to complain about it.

Off-topic though, I never agreed that BBQ was an issue (if anyone ever thought it was) because it was a fairly "balanced" perk overall. You get a hook with the benefit of extra BPs during end-game, and a small aura reading also when you hook someone.

Its a benefit with no downsides, however, Lockers exist, and so do mind-games. So people can easily just fool you into going places they didn't even run to...

As for WGLF, I personally feel the niche implementation of an aura reading will actually help breed more farming. Hear me out, if you're actively unhooking people just to get stacks, and you don't care for the unhooked Survivor and also don't want to be chased.... You can use the aura reading to stealth around the Killer, leaving the unhooked Survivor to just get tunneled. (Not encouraging farming what so ever, this isn't a suggestion to do so.)

It could very well help out actually, or it could just get the unhooked Survivor tunneled. A double edged sword, ultimately defeating the purpose of stopping the constant farming. In no way do I encourage farming, but ultimately this would just benefit them even more. WGLF can't be fixed tbh, and it would be unfair for Killers to have BBQ but Survivors don't have WGLF, so maybe if they cracked down on farming more and considered it a reportable offense that it would be stopped?

Idk? People complain about things that they don't even understand sometimes, I just thought it would be funny to say that people would also complain about that addition also.

  • @RakimSockem

The issue about that is, a space used for venting will eventually become a place of toxicity when it comes to certain subjects.

Take for example The Legion, one of if not THE most controversial topic since its inception. When they came out, a sea of complaints flooded the forums, people were in utter dismay and demanded him to be changed. This followed for weeks like with how common complaints about DS usually do, until finally after months, they cracked under the pressure of the bandwagons. And... The Legion was never the same since.

The communication there was ultimately what lead to his demise, and that's kind of sad to think about.

Since then, they're more cautious about what Killers they make because of how the community lashes out over it, so we'll never really see a unique concept like that again. Yes, the mending and healing was ultimately annoying to face and I get that, but demanding his add-ons be changed through bandwagons of forum posts doesn't solve anything.

It just destroys unique concepts from continuing or being created. Ultimately though, people will still complain about NOED, people will still complain about DS, and people will still complain about Legion. Because instead of going around the obstacle, I guess its easier to just write it off as impossible.

No hate towards anyone of course, i'm just giving an example of what can happen when people talk about something too often... in a more... distasteful manner.

While the minority of "top players, I.E. Red Rankers" do complain about certain things from time to time, I mostly see the majority (that being players below Purple Rank) complain about a lot of things here.

Its mostly due to them not really facing what they're complaining about a lot like some of us have for years even, but its also just out of frustration and they want to just hope for something better to happen. It mostly just boils down to bandwagoning though, a lot of people bandwagoned for Legion to get nerfed, and instead he was buried because the complaining was too much to bear for anyone.

Yes, The Legion was flawed. But the general originality and overall mechanics that he once had are pretty much dead now, and he isn't fun to play anymore. I guess that one Legion that used Franks Mixtape + Stab wound study too much really got to people...

That, and the constant healing, which is still a thing and people stopped complaining about that one because they realized it'll never be changed.

My point is though, the forum is about discussion, but it really just boils down to people complaining about something they despise, and demands are usually made to fix it.

And if the "issue" is too big, you'll expect the forums to start burning for days until an official statement is made.

@FireHazard You actually hit it right on the nose. After she uninstalled and called me, and the two of us discussed DbD more, she pretty much said a lot of the same thing. The piss-poor rank reset experience aside, the game is highly repetitive.

Now, she can handle repetitive games. She used to play older MMOs like City of Heroes where, despite the coat of different missions and stories, it was basically the same treadmill of repeating the same few mission types over and over. She played Friday the 13th for nearly a year back in 2017-2018. But at least there, she said, she had different ways to go about escaping or avoiding Jason (she hated playing Jason, always liked to try to escape from him). She already realized that in DbD, it would be the same: crouch and do generators, or run around objects until you got knocked down or the killer got bored and left to go elsewhere.

Or for killer it would be the same: run from generator to generator, or chase people around objects until you hit them.

I mean, yeah, it simplifies the whole "mind-gaming" that DbD talks about, but at its core she's right.

Hell, as I've said, I played Overwatch for 3+ years. That game is repetitive as well when you really look at it. Yet, DbD seems to double-down on the repetition concept.

I have 1k+ hours, so I understand what she means.

For some people, they like the grind, for me I like the grind also. But as of late, I've moved onto other games for a little while, and came back to see how things are doing here.

Its basically the same, and nothings really new except for the DLC. The devs believe this will drive the player base sky high (or I think they believe that) but in reality its not going to do much of anything.

I guess they think pumping out DLC will improve the player base, but tbh its not going to really do anything... It just gives Survivors something new to face and Killers something new to use. But when it boils down to it... we already have Killers with the same concepts, we have a Killer that can teleport (By that I mean hag, and Demogorgon doesn't really teleport, but the basic concept is still there. Hes going from location to location with traps)

And we already have a Killer that can dash attack. Nothing new is being presented here since The Plague was released... If they want their player base to increase they should really just continue focusing on dedicated servers to fix the match making, and then after they can consider different game modes.

That's just my two cents, i'm not hating on the devs or anyone here. At the end of the day, its BHVRs game and they can do whatever they want with it, i'm just suggesting things.

I mean it procs less then alert, and alert is considered a good/decent but not overpowered perk.

Then it sounds like a niche perk at best.

So I don't personally see an issue, Alert isn't even an issue. I'm just saying, from personal experience here people have complained about less... so I wouldn't be surprised.

I honestly don't think it's that bad of a thing, I mean babysitter has it and it's considered underated edit: /not useful I mean

Not all things are official until the DLC is released.

Anyways, idk then. The perk is niche to use at best, but I can see it being an issue for if you're pulling a stealth build. Perhaps i'm thinking its an issue because I've seen people complain about less before...

Bring the fire then. and babysitters has a similar effect which is why i suggested that as copy n paste etc etc

That's what the op said, get the babysitter aura read.

I don't think anyone would care, no one cares about babysitter

I haven't seen that perk get used, I haven't really checked the perks tbh.

But if they added that with WGLF, so many people would complain you have no idea. That's most likely why it wouldn't even be considered...

@Micheal_Myers Actually, many developers and game studios have discussed that a majority of players don't visit a game's forums. Hell, anecdotal on that topic, but of the 18-20 of us in real life who all game, I am the only one who ever visits a game's forums. And the group's ages range from 15 all the way to 46.

In reality, new players don't often join the forums. Hell, just as many don't ever watch video guides or read guides for a game. They just login, play, logout. And if they found the game fun, return. If they didn't find it fun, the likely don't return. Just look at how quickly numbers drop back to the normal, flat ranges after a free weekend or a 50% off sale. New players are not being retained.

I got a free copy of DbD from a Streamer last year and gave it to my 32-year-old sister. She works two jobs and finally had time to install it and play this past week. Being a huge Stranger Things fan, the advertisement for the DLC reminded her about owning DbD.

She started on Tuesday night. Enjoyed it well enough. Then rank reset happened on Friday. By last night (Saturday), she was so disgusted with DbD as a new player that she uninstalled the game and said to hell with the DLC. She isn't ever coming back.

She played both some Survivor and Killer. Didn't camp, but tried to chase people. And got looped to hell from de-ranked survivors with a lot more experience.

I would bet money that her reaction is going to be more typical of new players getting thrown to the wolves by de-ranked vets thanks to the reset a mere four days before this DLC launches, than them learning and sticking around.

I mainly blame the overall mechanics and quality of the game at the moment.

While yes, its far better than it was in 2016, the game isn't really noob friendly at this current time unless you're using Hill Billy or Myers. Also, the goals for this game are just to P3 and level up, that's about it.

There isn't anything different each time you play, so that kinda explains why most new players don't stick around. As its just the same thing over and over again, the same objectives and concepts. Some games mix things up when it comes to objectives and matches, that helps with reeling new players in.

For all I know, I could just be talking nonsense. While I do appreciate the devs work, I can also agree that sometimes, certain things are not fixed or changed for awhile. In no way am I disrespecting, but somethings like Freddys rework, or overall looping mechanics have taken 2 years to even be changed... Things here take awhile, while this could be from issues with the company itself, we won't really know for sure.

See the other survivors outside the killer terror radius?

Nah see the Killers aura when you get a safe unhook lol.

The forums would be on fire for weeks if this actually happened.

  • Just give WGLF the BBQ aura effect and watch the forums get set on fire.
