I’m not really trying to make fun of the op here, but I don’t really believe their story.
I'm not either, i'm just being a little snide about the situation. Honestly @Speshul_Kitten the only real way you got to rank 12 at reset was when you were previously at rank 7 before the reset...
There's no other way honestly...
-
Clearly, its The Entity trying to prevent you from getting away from the Killer.
Its the only REAL reason this is happening... Shame on The Entity for being unfair...
-
Or you know, just punish DCers more often... Because its not like people know how to work around the system at the moment...
Thank The Entity that dedicated servers are coming to fix that.

7 reset me to 13 so they’d have to be lower than that.
Its a secret man... don't want people to know I didn't keep Rank 1 for the whole season... because ranks matter SO MUCH! lol.
Edited for clarification, its a joke. What actually happened is honestly up for debate.

This was me literally before rank reset, I guess you can blame Bugged By Daylight 🤷♂️
I'm like 100% sure you think you were Rank 1 during the reset, but in reality you were Rank 3, 4, or 5 and just don't want us to know that...
There's no way that your rank magically went past 10 and 11 and landed on 12 when it reset at Rank 1, no way...

Already prestiged it? I'm impressed.
At the moment hes P2. I could've gotten him to 3 already, if you know... the achievement for him wasn't hell to get at higher ranks.
Literally took 5 hours to get his Adept Demogorgon achievement, but I still did it. I got all his achievements on day 1 minus the Denied! achievement sadly... There wasn't enough time to do it anyways, and unless I was perfect every game, I most likely wouldn't have gotten it the first day anyways.

At some point, they decided her ambush wasn't considered a basic attack anymore. So they changed it.
But the exposed effect was getting triggered from it. That was a bug.
They fixed it.

And like @Mookywolf said
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/696423#Comment_696423
There's literally no scenario where making ruleset number 2 basekit doesn't end up with pig winning
It doesn't make her win, it just makes it easier for her to make Survivors stall the game.
If you face Survivors with you know... a brain... than they'll do gens and THAN get the RBT off. If they all have a RBT on, and than a gens done, its literally a GG for someone because they're all on boxes and waiting lmao.
-
I'm playing him literally almost every match, the only time I don't is when I prestige him and need someone to get starter BPs for his new perk load-out.

Ya Myers is inferior to Ghotface on several levels. What Myers excels at is the fact he wont get broken out by survivors. Yet a good Ghostface wont be broken out.
Myers is better trust me, here's why.
- Constant stealth, he doesn't need to re-activate it every time its broken or gone.
- Pocket Tier lll, it can be stored to use at any time and gives the exposed status effect to ALL survivors, not just one specific Survivor.
- Chain-downing, he can easily down several Survivors in one swoop with Tier lll.
- Being at 8 Terror Radius with M&A is still undetectable until its too late, it doesn't matter if its not at 0 or not. Even base Tier lls 16 Terror Radius is still easy to stealth with.
- Tier lll improves lunge length and vaulting, making it easier to insta-down Survivors.
Should I continue? I don't deny that Ghost Face can also be good in his own way, and I P3-50'ed him 2 days after his release and had a blast. He is in no way bad, hes really fun and can be very deadly.
Is he better than Myers though? No.

Funny enough, Marth's Depip Squad did multiple experiments, not sure if you heard about them. They did a full SWF with no comms, one with comms and meta perks, and I think one with comms, but no perks? Something like that. Either way, the best success they had was SWF with no comms. Cuz they didn't mix up call outs or make stupid altruistic plays like they did on comms. They were 4 "solos" who knew what to do to get out and that's what they focused on.
Comms help for sure, and bad solos can utterly throw a game, but you can do really well with just a coordinated group out to survive.
Of course, I just mean that coms are a benefit, they don't really make the game any better for a solo team or SWFs.
It doesn't matter if a SWF uses coms or not, it only matters if they actually all know what they're doing...
-
Not true at all, for example I've met countless people that play both Killer and Survivor that could possible be the most entitled, toxic, and obnoxious people I've ever encounter in a game period.
This community really does foster some of the most entitled players I could've ever come across in my life time... And I've played A LOT of games. Most toxic people here are worse, due to them just being overall childish and without reason, at least some people in other games had some sort of care or reasoning for what they do/did.
Of course, this game can also have the nicest people you could come to know, its just unfortunate that it also can have some of the worst...

I'd actually argue that a group of coordinated solos is scarier than a SWF. An SWF will waste time on altruism/possibly make stupid plays to make sure everyone escapes. A killer needs that time/those mistakes to really get the snowball going. There are definitely SWFs that will just burn through you before you can do anything though, but there relatively rare until the red ranks, and even then some tend to que with lower rank players to bully so you might avoid them too.
Depends on if the solos actually know what to do, if they don't that's a different story.
Its rare to even find a coordinated solo team, because there isn't coms like a SWFs has.

Personally for me, I run BBQ, Ruin/Corrupt, Monitor and Abuse, and Save the Best for Last. I usually run this because it really compliments my playstyle. Although I do run a variety of other builds of her (Benefits of having all perks on one killer baby!).
Overall, Pig can be a threat in the right hands indeed.
Is she noob friendly though? Lol no... And that's something they should really focus on if they want more people to play her. It shouldn't have to only be enjoyable to people that can use her, it should be enjoyable for all players of skill and playtime.

Yea, for sure and I didn't take losing 3 as a loss. I took the 5 popping after using the basement hook as a loss. :P I honestly just prefer old Legion. Even at 110 I felt like I had more variety/better pressure. I've had great games with Legion post-nerf, and yea. The main thing I was pointing out was how ridiculously fast this game went, and how powerless I was to stop it. Especially as the power role. I'll play them again later, but if I keep getting games like this I'll just go back to other killers who can actually perform and not DS themselves every 20s. :P
Best of luck in the future then buddy, I do hope its a good one indeed.

Yes it's totally possible, what is overrated is Hillbilly sure i agree he is the best M1 killer for sure but he is certaintly not that strong against good player with grey add-ons. Sure with insta-saw and mori i destroy every SwF (almost) but we shouldn't have to play tryhardy to smash some advanced SwF.
Our max potential should be used to win against max potential survivors. Before you question my skill i know every technics (curving , zoning etc...).
Hill-Billy isn't an M1 Killer, a M1 Killer is a Killer that relies on their M1 to actually down Survivors, while their M2 is just a bonus effect to getting said downs. (Just some info lol)
Also, the stigma about SWFs being gods of the game if they're coordinated really shouldn't exist, and i'm amazed it does... Probably because a lot of people are not used to it or are not in in my "skill bracket" like I sometimes think they're (That doesn't make you bad no, it just doesn't mean you're used to it like I am, thus its easier for me to crush them.)
Of course, a SWFs isn't easy, it just isn't impossible to beat. Do I have to actually try if there's a good SWFs? Yes. Will I win every-time and get a 4k? No, its not as easy as I make it seem.
In-general, some Killers really do have different experiences.

There are some coordinated teams that can give you a good game, but if they want to win and get out, they will. Especially if they brought items/addons. Imagine if they had instas or toolboxes. I have to disagree that every scenario can be won. There are games you will just lose and a good part of that is the maps you get, spawns, totem locations, a lot of things can factor in. A single mistake can extend a chase to a dangerous point, and you can't play perfect every game.
Had I gone the opposite route, I might've been able to Frenzy and hit 2, MAYBE 3, depending on the route they took, how much duration I had, if there were pallets/anything to loop me on. I still more than likely would've lost 2 gens minimum. Which is better yes, but while I'm chasing the other 3 have mended/finished a gen for sure.
Losing generators really doesn't make the match a loss automatically, it actually makes the game easier to snowball. Less field to monitor = more chances to encounter and down Survivors.
RNG does help when it comes to if a game will be won, but its ultimately up to the Killer to make the best of every scenario. Whether we see eye to eye on the subject, its ultimately up to the future. But i'll respect your opinion, and just move on from the subject.
Hopefully in the future, you'll have more fun with Legion, regardless if what I said helps or not.

Even with addons I'd have still lost 3 gens, if not more. With Sloppy wouldn't matter cuz WMI/double healing. I probably should, but I hoard my addons. Imo addons should be minor power boosts/change up gameplay not be a requirement to play a killer. Which sadly I don't think even addons will save Legion. If they were a bit more clustered then yea, I could've got a good FF off and some early stall. Just got unlucky with spawns and they did the gens.
Like I said, its not a requirement its just a boost to improve things. Not using them on a Killer doesn't make it impossible to still get kills or play said Killer, it just makes it easier.
Making things easier, makes the game more fun. Why would I want to play base-kit Leatherface and get a massive headache with how bad the experience was lmao.

Yeah Pop is a really good perk to run on Pig. I used to run it myself but I find myself switching between Corrupt Intervention and Ruin at times.
Honestly if you pair pop with ruin or corrupt, it makes the game a lot slower for Survivors... You can also thank RBTs for their potential to instill fear of death into Survivors lmao.
It truly does portray the source material they took from the SaW films, and that's something I found the most interesting, and overall cool about it.

You can technically play any killer at high ranks and still technically win. However against a hyper coordinated team you're just not gonna have a good time without really pressuring and taking someone out fast. There's a lot of RNG involved which can be super frustrating.
The RNG part is true, but I have to disagree that every coordinated team isn't a good time. I stand by that every scenario can be won, it just depends on how you play it.
For the scenario you faced, had it been that you went to the where the other 3 were, it could've been a different outcome. But when it came to who you went to first, it wasn't going to work out. That's what I meant with the first comment, your SPECIFIC scenario, the route you took, the things you did, couldn't have prevented that 3 gen pop.

Guys, I know how to play Legion. That's not the point of the video. I have plenty of videos of me 4k, and quad Iring as Legion. On the PTB and after PTB rework. This was a losing game, and there was nothing I could do. That was the point. I'm not looking for tips on how to play Legion, or what I did wrong. I know what I did wrong, and I know how to play Legion, but thank you. And again, I don't use addons.
You really should use add-ons... Its your Killer though, do as you please.
I'm just suggesting things that could've made that situation a lot easier to prevent.
-
@xllxENIGMAxllx said:
Welcome to my world where i get rushed a lot. sometime he also happen with Billy because i don't use the insta-saw combo.
That's why Nurse should stay as it is until all maps get reworked because i don't think killers want to be looped and gen rushed every day.
If you want my opinion i think the maps are too big and gen too scattered to put a real pressure against solid solo or optimized SwF.
I do just fine with every Killer, of course I don't 4k every game, but its rare for me to get a 4 man escape loss...
Also, Billy is just fine, even with the grey add-ons (Spark Plug + Vegetable oil) due to how lax that Killer really is, and hes honestly the most fleshed out Killer there is currently...
Even with a solid solo or SWF, you can still 4k them or get some of them killed, idk why everyones so afraid of SWFs... they're honestly overrated at this point of how "hard" they're to face. Yeah, they're not easy if they're good, but they're not gods lmao.
It depends on the Killer, your awareness of the map, the scenario, and your skill if you'll win or not. And this should go without being said, but 4king isn't always a win, even if you 3k or 2k or 1k its honestly ok. Not every game should be perfect.
(I know you didn't mention the 4k part, but it should be said because someones gonna say it lmao.)

I do try to get multiple hits off, but in this case even if I had gone across the map I'd have fatigued before hitting anyone, and then I'm on CD for 20s, so sadly no go there. Also, they had We'll Make It, and were healing SUPER fast as you can see.
As above, they healed SUPER fast, otherwise yea I prefer them not healing cuz it makes my life easier as Legion.
I actually liked it when he was 4.4 funny enough. I'll take the faster FF numbers over the current cuz I still got downs as a 110 killer. I play the same exact way I did then, as I do now. I've got vids showing it too.
I don't use addons, and I do FF on multiple survivors despite being injured. One cuz I want points, and two if there's a few I want to get some mend time in but even then it's not super worth. You have to stab, chase, stab, possibly stab again or a 4th time. By then the first guy is mended, and you gotta fatigue for 4s +the last person you choose to chase won't have to waste time mending sadly. Thana could work, but it did get kinda nerfed. I might try it, but 15% at 4 injured isn't super crazy either.
Yea, I have no clue why people heal against him, but then again staying injured against me just makes my life easier so I'll take it lol.
Idk what to tell ya, it works wonders for me especially at Red Ranks.
You honestly gotta focus more on hurting Survivors, than you do with protecting gens. The more Survivors that're hurt, the easier the Trial gets. Pre-Nerf Legion was really good at this concept, and could FF everybody really easily.
If you use Legion, use his add-ons that extend mend times or his add-ons that increase the FF timer, it really does improve post-nerf Legion. If you focus more on having them mend, they'll honestly do worse as a result, if you focus all the time on generator defense, you'll lose a lot on Legion.
Legion is the type of Killer to honestly have you focus on a different objective than the actual one, which is defending generators... It really does play into their character, that they really do enjoy causing people pain more than they do Killing them.
Knowing this, will save you a lot of games.
-
I have to agree that Pig hasn't gotten the best updates outside the gate when the DLC dropped, and following after...
But by no means is she bad, shes actually very good at wasting Survivors time in a Trial when effectively using her. The RBTs (Reverse Bear Traps) can be used as a catalyst to not focus on killing them... but to waste their time removing them.
I have a build focused on capitalizing on Survivors wasting time getting the RBT off, and lemme tell you, it works wonders. Especially with Pop goes the Weasel, this perk will regress gens heavily when you hook a Survivor with a RBT, and keep it regressing until they take it off and go back to said gen.
Idk how many times I've done this where Survivors just waste so much time getting a RBT off while the gen they had at 80% or something went back to 20%/10%0% its honestly crazy... Ruin + Pop goes the Weasel on Pig is a god tier combo, the other two can honestly be anything... BBQ, Brutal Strength, Surveillance to keep track of gens, Surge, Overcharge, anything really that focuses on regressing gens.

I've done the slow-down builds. CI, SB, Ruin, Thrilling, etc. I didn't notice a change against coordinated survivors, or even a ragtag bunch of solos that just know how to run the loops and focus fire gens. I might mix it up, but honestly probably just gonna shelf Legion sadly. The 4s fatigue is just absurd, and his power is not nearly as powerful as it used to be. I know people will disagree, or say I have no clue what I'm talking about, but I've mained Legion since launch, and never moonwalked or used Frank's so.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/696382#Comment_696382
Sadly, and they only made a few, but that still cost me the match.
Also, another point I wanna tell you that might help in the future with that build.
When you start the game as Legion, you should always focus on getting as many people Frenzied as you can first. This will maximize the time wasted mending and healing, and overall will improve your chances of getting a snowball effect going on. Don't Frenzy all the time though, you'll honestly know when the time is right the more you play Legion... Its common sense.
People naturally heal against Legion, if the team is good they wont. But this just hurts them in the end because they're a one hit down. Its the same with Plague, having people in the injured state really does make the game go by faster.
And since they improved his walk speed from 4.4 to 4.6, its actually easier to down people now. Granted, hes no way the same as he was before, which made him more unique and fun... but the way he is now, can be worked around if you know what to do.
Try to focus on using add-ons based around extending his Frenzy time also, this will help chain-stabbing Survivors in the long run, and also once all people are injured, don't be afraid to continue the cycle of Frenzy hitting injured people if a stack of Survivors are in one area. If you also use add-ons that increase his mend time, this too will waste a lot of time. And with the help of Pop goes the Weasel and Thanatophobia, this will make it really hard to progress in-game...
If people are mending and healing, this benefits the Legion greatly, and a lot of Survivors really don't know that for some reason... even Post-Nerf.
-
@Caretaker said:

You're not wrong. I just hate playing fair and trying to have fun only to get a game like this back to back. Just kills all will to play the game. I only like to play with my friends and they don't really play the game due to the horrible balance so I stick to killer. Which I honestly prefer. However, it's so stressful cuz you either play 100% optimal, and sweat your ass off or you just get run around and eat wood for 5 minutes.
Yeah, if you wanna try out another build though that might help, just refer to the post I made before this one, it might actually help slow the game down.
-
Also, idk why you don't use Ruin. Like yeah, back before they destroyed legion with the patch you could 4k without Ruin pretty casually, but you should honestly invest in the Blood-Web to get Nurses Calling and Thantophobia.
Trust me, people heal from Thanato because they think the reduction will destroy their game, where it'll honestly just make it go significantly slower. And Nurses because if you get a Frenzy chain-stab off on 4 people in a row at the start, you'll expect people to heal right after the mend. Nurses lets you know where they are when they're healing (not mending) and overall helps you track people a lot faster.
Try it out, I wouldn't use Agitation or Brutal Strength on Legion, but that's just me.
If you're curious, my build I run is Thantophobia, Nurses, BBQ (Because Legion is a points machine) and either these perks for the last slot. Either Discordance, Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, or if i'm REALLY feeling it, devour hope.

@GrootDude said:
1 chase and three gens are common, that is when things start shaping up though, in my last match the survivors did three gens through ruin before my first hook but I still got a 4K, I usually start building a snowball at this point, it won’t always form quickly or at all but you can easily recover from this.
Also, you’ll have less gens to patrol making things easier.
This is also true, sometimes I also lose 2 gens before the 1st or 2nd chase, doesn't mean I still didn't 4k because they 3 gen'ed themselves lmao.
Or they just couldn't snowball again after those 2 gens, losing gens doesn't really mean you lost. It actually makes it a lot easier to snowball with less gens on the field.

I don't even think this was a swf. It might've been? I honestly had no clue. I just know they were hyper coordinated and super focused on gens. You're totally right. I just hate being the power role and feeling powerless. It defeats the purpose. I like to play with off builds, and play fair and let people get points. Then I get games like this, and another similar game with someone running the Asylum "infinite" and I just wonder why I bother?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/696327#Comment_696327
Quoted, I want in on this.
Some Survivors are just cruel to Killers, probably cause some Killers were cruel to them. So screw all Killers right?
Idk, some people just wanna play the game super optimized and try-hardy, in a game where that literally doesn't matter at all. This game is just bragging rights simulator tbh lmao.
-
Sometimes dude, there's nothing you can really do.
That's the real issue if its a SWFs or just a good solo team, some people just know what to do in every scenario and they do it to their maximum potential. Not everyone's perfect, but if they know what they're doing... and EVERYONE knows what they're doing... it can really be a problem.
And sometimes, we just have to accept that.
-
Its common that people do this because they got downed first, or downed in-general.
They're expecting to not be hit once the entire Trial, that's some high standards...

@FireHazard It might get fixed with Dedicated Servers. As an example, when Overwatch launched RoleQ beta in late August, matchmaking went to hell on the express train along with it. They actually postponed sending RoleQ live for several days in early September because they were still trying to fix it.
They did, but there are still outliers happening.
And Overwatch has had dedicated servers since the beginning. Dedicated Servers doesn't mean matchmaking won't still be a mess.
Paladins also has dedicated servers, and their Ranked matchmaking has always been a wreck.
Behavior has to not only get dedicated servers to not be a train wreck, but also have to fix matchmaking, which is separate.
Dunno then, should, and will are two different words.
We'll never really know until they come out.
-
In-general, I agree with the OP.
But I gotta say this, despite everything that's happened in the games lifespan, the devs do actually get on-top of some things that're wrong with the game. This may not be all the time like everyone hopes, but it does happen from time to time.
Would they like to do it all the time? Yes. Can they with how much effort and time it takes to work on a project, but several things break in its wake? No.
Things take time, and sadly, some people can't accept that. But yes, there are times where communication isn't great on subjects, and I wish that it would be in the future.
Maybe after dedicated servers are finished, will they be able to fix things in a more fluent pace like people desire so much. But I have to agree that somethings getting fixed years later when they could've been done a lot quick... is really odd.

@FireHazard Oh for Christ's sake, again?
I'm going to go shower and then try a match or two. But I swear, if this crap is back yet again in my matches, I'm just going to go play Overwatch for the next few weeks or more, until they actually fix it.
Maybe longer, because I'm so fed-up with the matchmaking being like this at this point, that I might not even follow DbD again for a couple of months.
Try to like and enjoy the game, and it's like Behavior does everything in their power to prevent that from happening.
It'll get fixed when dedicated servers roll around, at the moment we'll have to just wait honestly...
Nothing else I can really say, its just unfortunate business. It doesn't happen to me every-match, it just happens sometimes.

@Mert_MK @FireHazard On PC, since Peanits said they made adjustments last week or so, my gray-ranked matches have been pretty fair. I might get the occasional Rank 15 as a Rank 18, but that is only +3 ranks and I don't find it an issue.
The only time since then I've been hit with higher ranks is when they're obviously a 2, 3, or 4 man SWF with a lower ranked group member within my own range.
My matches last night were the same, no issues like the OP has suffered. Haven't played tonight, and am too tired to jump in and deal with mind-gaming tonight.
What platform are you guys on?

Paired me with a Rank 3 and 2, and the other two was a 13 and a 10 lmao, I don't have an issue with it, in fact I actually enjoy playing with Red Rankers again since I'm casually there. But everyone else doesn't share that opinion really...
Ranking systems wack clearly...

Same with why Moris and other One shot kill add-ons exist.
For no reason.
-
Its been that way for awhile now, being paired with literally Grey Ranks vs Red Ranks is the worst I've seen so far...

Only the survivors see it, not the killer. That would nonsensical.
If Survivors see the Killers perks, they'll probably leave also lmao...
In-general, nobody should see anyones perks. It ruins builds...
-
It would definitely increase lobby dodging if a Killer sees the perks they dislike on the Survivors they're going to face.
Imagine seeing DS, and you hate DS so much? They'll most likely close the lobby...

It isn’t that bad tbh.
Compared to PC it is, but if you're used to it than no its not.

true, hooking is risky after a few tokens,
We'll never really know, maybe when they fix it they'll tell us what the issue was.

i wasn't crashing when they were dying on second hook, only when they were dying on hook when being hook
I crashed when I got someone on the second hook, it seems more selective on when it wants to crash than what specific point it chooses TO crash.
All I know is, its definitely linked to the hooks in some way. Its just unknown why its doing that at the moment. Maybe its counting tokens on non-obsession survivors and the game can't handle the amount of phantom tokens? The game has done this in the past where it doesn't count tokens, but then if that's the case you'd know if it was true if the Survivors point out that their action speed is severely slow...
You never really know unless they tell you, but you crash before you can even ask.
-
1) Totally agree with 1, Cypress Memento Mori should just be a default addition, since its already EGC pretty much when you're going to Kill them (Unless you magically find them before they find the hatch)
It should just be by default, you're going to kill them anyways... so it shouldn't really matter.
2) That's mostly to just prevent people from BMing, or being toxic tbh. Should it be removed? That's entirely up to opinion tbh... For me, idc if they remove it or not, it doesn't bother me in anyway since I don't BM people with it, even if I hate someone in a match.
Its just a game after all.

my guess is that the game was programmed to have 5 tokens, because of devour, but they didnt made it to have more than 5, so that's why you crash when you should get your sixth, the game doens't have the code
Well, I didn't have 5 when it crashed. I think it has something to do with the obsession perhaps and how its coded to understand who is the obsession or not.
I'm not fully sure on the details, but its possible got to do with the tokens yeah, but I know for sure it DOES have something to do with the hooks. Hence why when you crash, its always when you're hooking or sacrificing someone.
Maybe its conflicting with that in some way.

Pretty good job so far.
I have no clue what could've caused it to even start doing that...
Maybe something was changed that's causing it to not work properly now?
