The developers work at snails pace to fix anything in this game, that's why.

The filters seem to be bugging 😅 the f word and h word didn’t censor originally and then the s word didn’t censor on my second edit.

The quote censored it, but not the actual post.

    Confusing.

Beating an absolutely new player without any perks doesn't prove anything.

You prove something by showing a tactic which works against skilled players. Against rank 19s, everything works.

I don't think the point of this post was to bash on the noobie and show everyone that he lost.

I think what he was going for was to help the noobie learn that certain tactics don't always work in every Trial. Lets be honest, its better he did it than have some toxic know it all destroy the noobie and flame him out in post-chat afterwards.

  • He just did and it wasn't censored lmao.

On my screen the first one isn't at least.

  • @GrootDude said:

The filters didn’t censor you! Ö

    We have filters?

  • Because, like many things, it takes time.

Especially on this game. A lot of things need to be changed and or reworked like Leatherface, most Killers add-ons, mechanics, etc.

Other things are more important at the moment like dedicated servers, so that's probably what they're working on for us at this very moment. (Hopefully)

  • A harsh loss will hopefully help him think of better ways to get a win.

Camping isn't the end all be all, so you can only hope this noobie understands that soon.

I think his later iterations could be a better suit. If the entity is granting him powers, its probably best to go with the version that has literally gone to hell and back. At least then it wont be such a stretch when he does something supernatural.

That'd probably make sense, maybe they could go off of the concept of Freddy Vs Jason where he dies and is magically transported by The Entity to the DBD universe.

If we ARE lucky, we could get the camp crystal lake maps and one of the well known Survivors from that movie. I forgot his name, its uh... Tommy? Idk.

They could also just go off of the most memorable one, from the most popular Jason movie.

  • @LordGlint @Kilmeran

Too be honest, it should be the most iconic version of him. I believe that would be when the first inception of the hokey mask took place.

I think that was part 3 if i'm not mistaken, but idk really as I only have some knowledge of some of the movies... Due to there being literally TEN OF THEM!?!

What kind of unique things can you really think of for Bubba to do that Billy doesnt already do? Im kinda at a loss for this one.

I'd honestly have to review the original movies (The first and the sequel, not the remakes or anything) to decide.

What they did with him is currently the most accurate portrayal of him they could've done, but it doesn't work with how DBD mechanics work. He needs something unique, he needs something that can benefit him but dis-associates him from whats already established.

Perhaps a small Demo-Gorgon dash with his chainsaw? Something to do with the Hooks as hes shown to use meat hooks in the movies. Maybe he gains boosts for being "blood starved" because hes a cannibal?

I could right up a rework concept for him in the future, but not right now.

Imagine running from Jason using the Ironworks loop... You jump through the window, just to see Jason walking through the mist as soon as you turn.

That'd be awesome tbh, he just shows up in the mist teleport animation and hits you.

You can even have insta-grab mist traps in lockers and such, but thats just a thought, its not really a practical thing to have...

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard @LordGlint Sweet Christmas, but Friday the 13th: The Game handled Jason damned near perfectly for what he does in the films.

Then again, I enjoy Counselor over there a hell of a lot more than Survivor over here. I wish someone would come along with a new game similar to a lot of that game's core designs. I'd be all over it.

Yeah but he was in that game WAAAAY too OP when you played him.

Basically, if you had that Jason into DBD, the forums would be on a strike for weeks lmao.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard I think his movement speed should be increased once the chainsaw charges. Nothing as crazy as Hillbilly, mind you. But maybe to 120% or something.

Now, I admit, my understanding of numbers in DbD leaves much to be desired. Numbers here are odd to me, unlike in games like Overwatch where I can easily calculate what a 20% increase to Soldier 76's damage nets, or even what reducing his clip by a few bullets nets overall. Even in body-shots vs headshots. So, that 120% percent I mentioned might be crazy or useless. But you get my drift.

Right now, his slow is what kills me with him. I have to be practically piggy-backing on the survivor and let them carry for it to feel like the chainsaw is worth using.

Which is probably where I need to get more involved with his add-ons. Still learning the game, so I'm trying to learn various killers before relying on their add-ons.

@GrootDude I appreciate you making me feel old (just kidding). 😂 I have three kids older than you. My kids are 26, 21, 19, and 9.

I like all those series a lot except for Scream. I could just never get into Scream.

Myers I loved right up until the Curse of Michael Myers. I was glad that H20 ignored everything after Halloween II, until its sequel, Resurrection, screwed that up. So far, love the 2018 continuity reboot that only acknowledges the original Halloween. Especially since John Carpenter never wanted to make Laurie his sister, but did it because he was rushed on the script and the studio rejected earlier drafts for not having enough of a twist. So I'm glad he finally got to undo that. Just hoping they don't screw it up, yet again, with Halloween Kills in 2020 and Halloween Ends in 2021.

As it stands, Myers now has three continuities: Halloween through Curse of Michael Myers; Halloween, Halloween 2, H20, and Resurrection; then Halloween, Halloween 2018, and the two upcoming sequels. He's has as many continuities as Highlander at this point.

Liked all the Friday the 13th films except Part 9 and Jason X.

I really enjoyed the 2009 remake.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre . . . I liked the first film. The sequels went too much into the black-humor campiness for me. Texas Chainsaw: Next Generation should be forgotten.

I did like the 2003 remake and The Beginning prequel, though. One of the rare instances I actually enjoyed the remakes more than most of the originals.

    @LordGlint Nice photo. 😀

Basically what they could do is make him less add-on reliant like Pre-Patch Freddy was, and give him a more unique concept to use with his chain-saw. Remove the power or don't they could at least throw in a twist to him, and give the character some justice...

I don't get anything out of Leatherface when I use him, and I feel like I should...

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/689037#Comment_689037

Im pretty sure they could do alot more with him than they could do with Bubba. Not really any meaningful differences you could find between Billy and Bubba. Trapper and Jason though... You got plenty of room to differenciate. Imagine if DBD Jason could mist walk like he does in Mortal Kombat, Just walk into mist at one point, and out of mist at another. I was kinda daydreaming this thought the other day. What if you could "set" the mistwalk location by looking at a spot and holding down M2, then activate the ability later by releasing the M2?

Point being... Jason doesnt exactly scream "beartraps" like Bubba screams "chainsaw"

Just make him a mist walker that teleports from place to place like in the movie. He doesn't canonically teleport, but lets be honest... he does.

And the whole "un-killable" concept can be turned into something, I don't know what but... they can probably think of something there.

A fair bit can be done with Jason, i'd just need time and a list to really think of something unique for him.

  • They're honestly just placeholders for the real statistics of add-ons or offerings.

Its more catchy to say "This add-on considerable increases your powers ability" than to say "This add-on gives a 3.65% bonus to your power"

At least... that's what I think they were going for anyways...

  • Small off-topic point, I wish Jason was a part of DBD because of this video now.

Sadly, his license is more tricky to navigate than being blind-folded in a maze...

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard Oh, I'm aware that Hillbilly came first. He was one of the three originals killers next to Trapper and Wraith. I followed the game since 2016, I just didn't buy it or play it because Overwatch occupied my time where all my friends and family played.

I'm almost 47, so grew-up on Leatherface, Myers, Freddy, Jason, et cetera. Always been a huge slasher fan.

But with Leatherface in the game now, I always get a mental image of Hillbilly being from some Grade B Texas Chainsaw knockoff movie.

It's not a knock on who entered DbD first, just how my horror fandom works out mentally on picking who to play.

    Naturally, I gravitated to Bubba.

Now, gameplay wise, I hate the speed Billy gets with the chainsaw. I suck at controlling it, and just don't feel motivated to learn him. Leatherface just fits my playstyle more. I just wish he got some needed tweaks.

I know what you mean, I was just point that out when it comes to being factual.

My point was, despite Hill-Billy coming out before LeatherFace, you can kinda see why most people view him as a knock-off to LeatherFace with the points I made above on why they are literally the same Killer in most regards...

Also, Bubba needs a rework tbh, its just mainly due to how un-inspired I feel he is with his add-ons and power. Yes, the power is spot on to what he does in the movie, but many things about it just make him unbearable to play when other Killers can literally do what he does, but better...

Like, give Bubba a small dash like Demo-Gorgon, or allow his charge bar to decrease when charging like Hill-Billy, or give him new add-ons that're unique to him... Anything... I feel more could of been done with him, but it really wasn't for some reason.

  • I'd rather wait a few more months for dedicated servers to come out in working order, than demand them to come out early and break the game...

You're not being reasonable here, dedicated servers will come, if all deadlines in the world were met, the world would be perfect. But some things don't come on time, and the world isn't perfect my friend...

I don't blame you for questioning the way stuff works when it comes to updates and fixes here, but I wouldn't just outright demand it to happen when it clearly won't...

  • @Kilmeran Hill Billy came out before Leatherface did, but if you compare the two and which is more "well known" I can see why you came to that conclusion.

    • Both are in a sense hill-billy's
    • Both use hammers as their original weapons
    • Both use chainsaws and that's what they're iconic for
    • Both were trapped in basements and treated as freaks by their parents/family...

If we're speaking "who came first" in DBD history, Hill-Billy did. If we're talking about who was more "original" than you're right in that regard. I'm not saying BHVR stole the concept from LeatherFace no, i'm just saying that the concept was already done...

The only real difference is their looks (obviously) and that Hill-Billys parents dis-owned him, while Bubba's somewhat accepted him.

Ironically, LeatherFace "stole" the add-ons that Hill-Billy uses, since Hill-Billy came first to DBD, so... its odd they didn't give him unique add-ons for LeatherFace (except Award-Winning Chili and Chili, but they both don't work. People claim they do, but if they do they practically do nothing...)

  • Oh, how we soon forget who once was considered the "invisible man" named Freddy...

Free hits for days, and bad stealth to boot. But yeah, Spirit is the harder one to detect when looping her, but she isn't really impossible to loop as many have described...

Prayer beads is broken though, nobody can deny that. Its really easy feeling for a "bulge" around a generator and just un-phasing to grab someone off a generator.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@FireHazard @GrootDude Well, to be fair, Leatherface gets screwed over and dumped on in the movies, too.

At least Behavior was true to the source material. 😂

Yeah... at least something was done right...

Everything else like original add-ons... mechanics... general originality was a hit or miss. Not bashing the devs, I just think they could've done a better job with how his power can be utilized, what you can and can't do with it, and the add-ons are basically Hill billys with one or two unique ones that don't even work... (Chili add-ons...)

  • @Cardgrey I'm talking base Leatherface is terrible, most discussions refer to base Killers.

He is in-fact the worst Killer currently, because of how maps are (still haven't seen those pallet/loop changes we were promised...) how the meta is, and in-general how limited he truly is.

If you give him to someone whos P3-50'ed him before like me or Groot, we can make due despite it being... challenging. More so @GrootDude because he mains him, I don't.

  • @GrootDude said:

    @FireHazard I just @ed you!

    Reee!

No but seriously, you know what I mean when we're talking about the majority of players. Not the minority that makes up Red Ranks who can make due with even the worst Killers...

I mean, even some Red Rankers still can't make due with Leatherface or others...

  • @TheGorgon said:

I've been able to make a definitive guess and answer to it. Reasons: Played Demogorgon enough 2. He seems really good at cutting long walls and keeping map pressure. @GrootDude and I have had a small discussion on it before, I still persist 😂

Yeah but a lot of people thought certain Killers were busted until their official release was made.

They then either still thought that, or changed their minds and considered them trash. I'm just saying that adding a Killer that isn't officially released to a tier list is kind of odd, but hey, its your tier list.

  • People wouldn't have to complain about the DLC being only worth it for the perks if for example... the Killers were good? Cough Leatherface cough don't @ me @GrootDude

You know exactly what I mean, even if the Killers fine for you lmao.

  • @GrootDude A new challenger approaches...

Its funny that Freddy is high, and huntress it mid... Also, why is Gorgon on the list when hes not officially out for 2 more days?

  • I'm not a Survivor main, but when I do play Survivor the most annoying status effect for me personally has to be... Exposed in the wrong situations.

Like if someone pops a haunted grounds right when i'm about to take a hit, really just kills the mood... Or if a Myers pops a Tier lll on me because some ding dong fed him... that also kills the mood for me.

Ironically I say that about Myers even though hes my main lmao.

  • KYF exists for a reason, you can practice with friends there with no consequences what so ever.

The issue is, programming A.I. that can think rationally and critically in a chase isn't an easy feat, and a lot of other aspects need to be put into account with an offline mode...

The absence of a "brain" when it comes to facing Survivors really does make a "real scenario" or not...

  • @GrootDude said:

PSA: BT is useless against LF because I can chainsaw the unhooker. >:)

I can Tier lll the unhooker also...

  • Yes... we're aware how BT works...

And no, you're not a cheater, its just salty survivors crying about another thing. Nothing you did was wrong in this encounter, its just people not accepting that certain perks don't work on certain Killers.

  • Here's why.

    • Constant Stealth which can't be broken
    • Pocket Tier lll which can be activated on any Survivor.
    • Exposed ability can be achieved on any Survivor
    • Tier lll gives a longer lunge as well as faster vaulting speed
    • His ability isn't knocked out by simply looking at him for a second or two...

Anything else? While Ghost Face does bring some refreshing concepts to the table of stealth (even though Pig started the crouching thing...) he's still inferior to his predecessor in every way sadly...

And I don't point this out because I want to prove you wrong, I point this out mainly because I actually wished he was better than Myers... Myers is my main, but it would of been nice if his ability's were improved upon with another Killer... sadly that isn't the case.

  • You know... whats happening on his screen and your screen are two completely different points of view right?

So for example, he could have clearly seen his weapon hit you on his screen, while for you it looks like hes a mile away. Also, hit detection in this game is wonky in-general, especially if we're talking about the end of a lunge animation... You'll sometimes get a longer distance for some reason, I can't fully explain it myself, but it happens a lot at pallets for me.

  • Everyone's experiences are different, what you consider a chore might be considered fun to other people.

Like for example, I think playing Survivor is boring and that all Survivors are basically the same with a different skin and unique perk selection... Does that mean everyone else believes the same thing? No.

And also, time is a valuable resource in this game whether you're a Killer or Survivor... So yeah, anything after 30 seconds is bound to get done or not depending on the map pressure, how many Survivors are doing that objective, the Killers skill, etc.

  • @LonlyGamerX

They're just head skins, its nothing to do with "hacking" if that's what you're thinking.

    Doctors emo eye contacts.png

You can find them in the shop on the bottom left corner under The Doctors head skin section... And yes, its not uncommon to face the same Killer multiple times, I had some Survivors face me three times in a row once.

  • I mean, Freddy is now a Trapper Killer so... Its kind of fitting that this is what the turnout of his rework boils down to.

Traps in-general are and should be treated as just a bonus for aiding in loops and chases, if the Killer is basically a M1 Killer you shouldn't really be distraught about your traps being wasted... Although that doesn't mean the chases won't be harder to end of course...

If you're just aware of spacing, lengths of lunges, and overall mechanics of chasing as a Killer... than you'll probably be fine? Depending on if its a solo or SWF team I guess? It all really depends on the Player and Survivors routes they take...

Nobody? Literally nobody here resembles you besides Dwight maybe.

  • She's still broken regardless of the omega blink crutch.

Unless they rework the entire power, she'll still be top tier numero uno. Hill Billy still has more development though, and overall mechanics.

  • Because thinking of powers that're practical, and also balanced isn't an easy feat in this game.

You don't want your Killers powers being too OP, but not too crap either.

  • @Boss

Its just pointless additions they added in-case they ever did want to have the ability to cancel these actions.

Clearly it didn't take, so they weren't removed. It makes sense since if you had progress bars for both, they must of been previously designed to do so, but later down the road weren't added in because they changed their mind.

Currently, we know what really happens now, so its just left overs from an after thought, happens a lot in many games tbh...

  • @NDTryhard An update to your question, they said match making would be fixed when dedicated servers roll around.

This is just a common problem as stated above on all platforms, it has nothing to do with your console. Sadly, you'll have to just endure it like we all do when playing.

  • @Knightsofren27

  • @Pooftee

    No, its not a bug.

I'm guessing it was Franklins demise (a Killer perk) that caused it to drop out of your hands when you got downed and hooked.

I say this isn't a bug because I've never heard anyone had this issue at all (past and present), so it has to be Franklins demise, since that perk is the only way to force an item out of a Survivors hands.

Rainbow maps are pretty common now anyways with Plunderers Instinct, so its not that hard to get another one anyways. I don't even want them, and they keep showing up all the time when I go item hunting.

Oh I see, so you just meant about having the text and illustrations more integrated. Yeah, that's just a layout thing. Because my guide was so long (3000+ words) I had to break it up a lot to make sure it was digestible, so I used a lot of visual tricks to make it easier to read (small paragraphs, lots of headings, variations in the layout, images, different colours, widely spaced lines, etc.)

I won't provide links for the reasons you mentioned, but I can give you some program recommendations. I used Adobe Indesign to make my guide, which is good software but very expensive - I mainly used it because I already had a subscription to it for university/work related reasons. But what I did with my guide should be easily doable with any layout design program. MS Publisher and LibreOffice come to mind.

When it comes to image creation/editing, as I said the stuff I did wasn't very complicated. The program I used was Clip Studio Paint Pro, but you can also use Photoshop, or I've heard that Krita is a good free alternative to both of those.

Good to know, thanks for the advice.

Ah so that's where the time the salt flows in your region then.

Basically, its been that way always even when I first starting playing.

The more toxic players usually play around that time for some reason also, I guess the lack of sleep breeds toxicity, or it could just be that most toxic players love playing in a shroud of darkness.

    Ironic honestly...

  • Its random, it all depends if you get a wave of DCers in a row or not.

Is it attached to her arm in a permanent manner according to the movies?

No, that wasn't the point I meant though.

The fact you need to remove an entire contraption from your arm to the other is kinda odd... If I knew how much is under the sleeve than I could cement that argument, but I really don't know lmao.

It could be for the whole forearm, or it could just be for the wrist. Idk, all I know is this post is mostly just for the goofs and laughs.

But I mostly point this out as a joke, but also because something like removing an entire hidden blade contraption from your right arm to your left for the sake of being cool is kinda odd.
