Did you also have a cup of Trapper, two table spoons of Freddy, 4 quarts of Myers, 10 chops of Nurse, 8 grams of Billy, 7 grains of Spirit, and 2 cloves of Pig?

I stand by Shroud of Separation + Corrupt Intervention = increased chance of early steam roll.
Depends if you have a build built around it, than I guess. If you're using it without knowledge of the basic mechanics of this game, than you'll probably lose 2 gens in the process.
This is if we're talking Red Ranks, if this was green ranks everyone would just walk around aimlessly for... whatever reason green ranks do that for...
-
Hes the worst Killer because of how little map pressure he can produce. Yes, he has a insta down saw that can hit multiple Survivors, but that's situational at best really.
He used to be able to insta-down multiple Survivors while they unhooked another in the basement, hence why hes always mentioned when talking about basement camping or camping builds in-general. Because that's all hes really good for honestly.
His only good build is Enduring + Spirit Fury + Ruin + ???. And that's really it, nothing else really makes him stand out. Granted, people do main him and he is viable in high level play, its just not so... "noob friendly" as Billy is, or how Myers is.
In green ranks he dominates because of the massive amount of mistakes the Survivors do in that rank, in Red Ranks hes a push over. Unless you know how to play him, hes generally an awful Killer and I've P3-50'ed him, and it was a nightmare. To get a 4k with him, you have to really work for it and that's saying something...
I honestly, truly, without a shadow of a doubt, think he's worse than Pre-patch Freddy. I honestly believe that, and stand by it 100%. At least Freddy was fun despite being one of the worst Killers... Leatherface isn't fun, even when you're winning.
@GrootDude would love to prove me wrong though lmao. But its just my opinion after all.

True but they cant make them too small otherwise itll just become trash again lol
If they just had it as a set hitbox going forward it wouldn't act like what I described.
Instead I think they just have it set to "If Killer goes in range of Locker, than the Survivor can stun them regardless if they moved.
Maybe extend the hitbox outwards a bit so its not too short, but not too long either. It would make more sense. If they don't change it ever, I could care less though tbh as the perks so underrated anyways.
-
They should also play around with the hitbox also.
If you walk past the Locker and you're in the doorway of say the Killer Shack once you walk past the locker that Survivor is in, they can stun you when you're in mid animation of walking past the locker to the doorway.
Its really odd, try it out in KYFs...
-
Doesn't Demogorgon crouch during his pounce?
If you want him to crouch in-general as a stealth ability, i'd also want him to climb walls tbh, I thought that was going to happen when I first saw his trailer.
-
But if I don't blame the Killer for me losing... who do I blame? - Every Green Rank Survivor.

Yea, like seperate 4 survivors, 3 doing gens, and you chase 1. This is not benefit for killers at all lol
Or put fog offerings so Survivors have an easier time hiding from farther fields of view.
Some offerings shouldn't really exist on Killer, but for some reason they do.

I'm happy with how the game became more balanced for both sides (even if it took them years to do so) so that both sides stand a chance to win, but I think the more and more issues in this game aren't addressed the more difficult it becomes to eventually balance it fairly for both sides. I'm also happy about the fact that they are trying to address the issues, I just hope they are addressing the proper issues first. Obviously you know what irks me in my rant but I'll touch up on things I didn't mention in the rant here.
Maps in my opinion need a good looking at as well, certain maps can destroy certain killers but some maps can completely go in a killers favour, and some maps can be littered with safe pallets and some can be littered with unsafe pallets. I think that there should be more consistency with maps so that it can be more balanced for both sides.
I'm still thinking of ideas on how to make this game more fair/fun for both sides while also trying to be realistic about it rather than just throwing out a bad idea that won't go anywhere, but like I said it is becoming a more difficult thing to do as the game progresses and more perks/maps/addons/offerings/killers/survivors get added, a lot of variables to consider.
Nothing can truly be balanced, especially in this game.
We make the best of what we have and try to give opinions and suggestions on what to change and improve on. Most of the they're ignored due to others picking up on the suggestion, and instead of giving more constructive insight, they spread toxic demands.
That's the main issue to why we have bad balancing, its because the vocal majority is the lower ranking Survivors/Killers that pick up on conversations and riot in a mass demand for changes. When these changes are not met, or they're but not done "correctly" the majority ensues more chaos in the form of forum posts.
For example, MoM was getting nerfed, but before it even did get nerfed it was argued and complained about for weeks until it finally got changed. The same with DS but to a larger degree, the perk was overall OP, and gave the Survivors who used it a second chance whether they deserved it or not with no counter-play to it.
The point is, balance is just a meme at this point. We will never truly have Dead by Daylight be balanced for both sides, and that's something I would hope most of us would accept at some point.

If that's the case, I guess you just turn around facing the camera in the front while your Survivor is facing you and just click the opposite keys to moonwalk. I don't know...

do you want a medal? Just because you can do good as them doesn't mean that they are good
The fact I can do it, doesn't make it impossible is my point. The fact you haven't faced a M1 Killer who destroyed your SWFs, doesn't mean one doesn't exist.
The literal fact, that you don't have a single clue what you're talking about is what i'm trying to explain. Your SWFs doesn't make up the general concept of what a average game of DBD is, so I have zero clue why you even bothered putting that point in that post.
Also, you tried passing off that "Survivors make mistakes" was an argument to why all Killers are not viable at high ranks. That's not an argument, you're just stating a basic fact that all Killers know.
My point, is that what makes a Killer good or bad, is all personal opinion. Just because you're garbage with lets say LeatherFace, doesn't mean someone else won't destroy you with him later on. All Killers are viable at high ranks, all of them. It all depends on who plays that Killer to make them viable.
Yes, certain Killers are easier to play at high ranks, that doesn't mean the Killers that're harder to play at higher ranks can't be made viable. If you put enough time into something, anything is possible.
People said Freddy was the worst Killer, he couldn't possible 4k at Red Ranks. Guess what? Someone proved them wrong.
Edit
You're not the same person, but the point still stands. All Killers are viable in high level play, it depends on the Player alone to make them viable. Saying nothing is viable because you think it isn't doesn't make any sense.
-
I agree with @Cardgrey we want to hear (or in this case read) your personal thoughts on the subject, not voiced through someone else's video.
Doing that is kinda lazy tbh...

I definitely agree that he was boring to face and that current Freddy is more fun to face.
I think it has to due with the fact that he doesn't have the ability to walk with you anymore, or just in-general he used to be able to walk past everyone and not be seen if they weren't actively being put to sleep by him.
Now if he walks past you its automatically done, so in a way hes kinda semi-invisible until hes in your general radius. This makes it feel like hes more... "view-able" I suppose? which was a constant complaint that people had with him, that he was constantly invisible, so hiding from him more times than not had people in the open to be seen.
He was definitely one of the more easier Killers to get the first hit off of, or at least he was for me.

@GrootDude Completely true. He was one of the most fun and unique Killers I ever played since I started to main Myers back when I first got this game. I even P3-50'ed Freddy Pre-Patch and continued to play him pretty often. (And sometimes do to this day.)
Despite this, he was still boring to play against as he was invisible 80% of the time unless you're actively seeking him. (This parts for Pre-Patch Freddy. Now a days if he walks past you you'll be put into the dream state, so its kinda decent now to face him as a Survivor.)

wrong. its depended on the survivors. m1 killers will only do good when the survivors are trash and thats a fact. especially against swf. i cant even remember the last time that a killer was even close to pipping against my group.
That's not even an argument, that's a basic fact that every Killer knows. As a Killer main, you actively seek flaws in a Survivors routes that they take.
I main Myers, hes a M1 Killer, I can still down people just fine. Just because your group hasn't faced a M1 Killer who dusted all of you doesn't mean squat.
Yes, a M1 Killer is obviously easier to face than say Billy, or Nurse, or Spirit. But that doesn't mean you can't still be viable at Red Ranks. I've played Red Rank matches with Pre-Patch Freddy, Myers, Pig, etc, and still do fine. Whats your excuse? Not every game equals a 4k, nobody is a elite here. We're only humans.
-
@LadyPotato Because, many would agree that sitting and staring at the hatch in that one spot of the map when the last Survivor is alive is incredibly boring and unproductive.
The EGC exists to give the Trial a definite end, and I for one welcome the change with open arms. Whenever I had one Survivor left i'd just find the hatch and than see if I can catch them before they find it.
If we both found it at the same time i'd hit them and just end the match. I'm not waiting 6 hours+ to kill a Survivor when I could be doing anything else with my time.
Its honestly common sense, do you want to sit on a hatch for hours because of some entitled ego complex? Or do you want to move on and play the game...
-
I agree, some offerings like the one to separate all Survivors actually benefits them more than it helps the Killer...
You want Survivors to be together in a group to keep them from doing gens, not be separated doing gens while you chase one person, even if its the shortest chase in the world...
Mori's are kinda the lazy mans way of getting revenge of a certain Survivor, or just a lazy mans way of playing a Trial in-general (Unless you wanna just have some quick fun if you're not being """competitive""")
Also, the branch offering barely does anything... I mean it never did in the first place, but tbh I see no difference when using it. And might I add, why would the Killer want the map to be darker with the fog offering? Doesn't that help the Survivors more than the Killer when it comes to finding them...

Yeah but theirs basically only 4 that are and thats a stupid mentality anyway
@CrazyMage Incorrect. All Killers have the potential to be viable at High Ranks, it all depends on the Players skill overall.
I could get a 4k quite often with Pre-Patch Freddy, and he was considered the worst Killer at the time. It all depends on how you use each Killer, their perks, and add-ons to the fullest.
If we're talking about the "majority" of the DBD community, I guess this is true? But even then, most people can eventually improve overtime. You think I was good right out the door? You think anyone here was? I used to be garbage back then, and my worst map used to be Lerys... and I mained Myers making it way worse... So I used to think it was the worst combo to have happen.
Now Lery's is personally my best map to play on, and playing with Myers on it actually makes it 10x's easier... Sneaking up on Survivors is really easy when you Terror Radius is 8 at Tier ll - 2 more with Dead Rabbit... And even without the added Stealth, its not really that difficult to navigate the paths Survivors take.

@Awesomebro124 As for this post, yes moonwalking still exists and is still very effective in all ranks.
It helps get the drop on loops that have high walls and sharp corners, as well as short distances between each corner. It also helps bait fast vaults at Killer Shack, bait pallet drops, confuse Survivors into running into directions you want them to go into, etc.
Moon walking can very well be a meme, but its still something a lot of Killers employ when in a chase. Some advice, when in a chase always moonwalk when you have a basic understand of the tile you're on. (A tile is one of the randomized square that make of the grid of the map you're on.) Its best to moonwalk when you know the distance of the other opening in the loop (I.E. where the pallet is) and when the Survivor doesn't have a clear sight on you. This is usually best to do when the Survivor is fully around the corner of a loop.
Once they're you want to face at the corner while moonwalking to where they're trying to loop you around. You can also fake that you're doubling back on them by simply facing the other way, but moonwalking where they went around the corner.
This will make the Survivor think you're doubling back on them and as such they will turn around, but in reality you're moonwalking right into them and this will allow you to get a hit off on them or even a down.

So let me get this straight. Playing solo is all but certain demise, but playing SWF is OP?
I've come to believe the true problem in this game is the players themselves. First of all, Tru3 is a hack. He is not even close to a top tier killer, neither am I. I see him get owned by a good team and complain, but other killers destroy the same team. That is where the problem lies. This game is made at a baseline in order to balance for the most players. Player skill can cause massive separation from there.
Yes, SWF with skilled players can own most killers, but they too can be owned by a good killer.
Balance is not an easy feature in a game like this. My beef usually comes in when a foreseeable problem is ignored (MoM) until there is outrage.
Read the post followed up on the one you quoted, (Not the short one the long one.) I hate when people don't do that, you're not the first to do it so its nothing personal.
As for the topic, let me reiterate. Playing solo is usually a demise due to the fact that most solo survivors don't have the coordinated skill, nor do they have the basic concept of "working together" like a SWF does. This is due to everyone who does play solo (aka literally all Survivors have played solo) knows that if something doesn't work out, to just bail unless an opportunity arises where you can help. I.E. this means solo survivors are usually out for themselves and nothing more. This doesn't mean it defines all solo survivors, but most act like this.
As for the players of DBD, I agree, the community is usually to blame for the faults in balance that occurs on a daily basis. When the majority (in this case, the majority is reflected by players that're not constantly in Red Ranks) is against an idea, perk, Killer, etc, than you'll find they riot about that "problem" excessively. This is to the point where the devs can't handle the overload of demands that're coming in, and as such, usually get shelved until they come up with a decisive fix to said problem.
Now, let me explain why I agree with Tru3 while also agreeing with you that he is usually wrong in some cases. I Agree with Tru3 that SWF is a problem BECAUSE it is just another issue that stems from the constant problems this game faces. A issue is addressed, the devs give their take on how to fix said issue, the "problem" still exists, and the issue isn't resolved until further a long in its lifespan. I also agree however that Tru3s debates usually stem from his overall experience he has personally, and as such he reflects this on everyone in-general rather than thinking that it could just be him. He is in no way "one of the best" Killer mains, and tbh none of us are... We're only human, humans make errors in judgement daily.
As for the topic, these problems have happened with DS, it happened with Legion, and its going to happen with SWF. SWF itself, is not a big problem in itself, however, the part where I agree with Tru3 is that the issue is never truly resolved until the community has come to accept that its something Killer mains have to live with. That's why I said I got used to it and overall its become less of an issue for me, because you have to just learn around it rather than just complain about it until its fixed.
Why is this an issue then? Because (not bragging) i'm not in the majority, and don't constantly sit at green/purple ranks. So these issues don't bother me (as much), its more towards the majority, which in turn is what the devs focus on more than the minority which is Red Rankers or Killers/Survivors that have a more advanced understanding of the games mechanics.

Probably because there's too many variables.
Do duos + 2 solos get an action speed reduction? Duos + duos? 3 man + solo? Just 4 man? How much are we talking? Will it be present in all ranks? What if purples are matched with red? Green with purples?
I agree that something should probably be done about SWF in red ranks. I just think the solution isn't so simple.
And if we play the reverse card, why should winning as killer matter if you're just playing for fun? The answer is: winning is fun.
Of course winning is fun, but we must also look at the facts, certain things in this game are not balanced when they should be and this gets ignored for various reasons.
For example, Legion wasn't really balanced and we can all agree on this. Their response? He was buried into the ground because of popular demand. Now you may ask, "why is this relevant to what we're talking about?" Its because, whenever something is highly sought after to be changed in this community, it comes in with a torrent of demand.
And as such, certain things are ignored for the longest of time because they don't want to "screw up" the fix out of fear that hundreds of people will leave if its not "correct."
If you wanted something fixed, and lets say thousands of players breathed down your neck to do it... you might mess it up. And if you do, the backlash ensues upon you (or in this case, it ensues onto the devs.) That's probably why SWFs is never touched upon when its brought up, because of how temperamental it is... it could very well be the reason that keeps players around and if messed up could have hundreds leave in its wake.
Back to the topic at hand though, I don't think the issue should be ignored, and that's probably why Tru3 went off during that stream, because he like many others are tired of it being swept under the rug (like with other issues.) On the other hand, its probably being swept under the rug out of fear that changing it could kill parts of the community off.
Its a double edged sword, but something should be done about it regardless of that fear... If we just ignored DS forever, people would still talk about it being busted till the end of time here. Now that its been changed, I rarely see it anymore. And people who do complain about it are being quite unreasonable from where it was originally...
Of course people left because DS was changed, but it was an overall better outcome for the community as a whole.

Improvement is a relative term.
And it's the balance that improved. Not their quality control. That doesn't seem to have.
Quality and Balance never mix well when it comes to Killers and their Patches.
Legion was patched to meet the "suggestions" even though it was demands... of the community that was against him since the beginning. Hows Legion doing now? Hes a husk of what originally made him unique.
Quality can also be abolished when the pressure of the community weighs down on the devs. So we can't always blame them for some things not working out, we also must take into account the community and the pressure they exert onto everyone that works on a certain project in this game. If demands are not made, riots ensue.
We've seen it before with MoM, DS, Legion, Plague, anything that isn't really balanced... And we'll continue to see this until the end of Dead by Daylight as we know it.

Uh, or it's just people wanting to play a game with their friends?
I hate facing SWF in red ranks as much as the next guy but suggesting that all SWF groups are out for killer blood, sweat, and tears is 100% meme material.
Slight error on my part, I added that in below that but didn't say it at that part.
Yes, its those two things OR its to play with your friends. But if that's the case, why is an action speed reduction an issue? If you're just playing for fun why does winning the match matter.

Rule set no.2 is trash. Boxes are really easy to find even when you can’t see their auras.
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/86915/tru3-goes-in-hard
If he wants to pop heads, as a old Pig main, you wanna use Rules Set NO.2 and Tampered Timer because survivors will rush generators until their trap is activated — they now have to search 4 boxes within 2 minutes.
If he wants to stall, he should swap out Jigsaw's Sketch for Jigsaw's Annotated Plan.
However, I think he found a delicate balance between the two, never used it personally, but it looks good. :)
@NMCKE I have to agree with @doitagain_ as Set Rules no.2 is completely useless at Red Ranks. If you want a build that centers around poping heads off with the RBTs, you use Box of Gears + Tampered Timer, and know when to put the helmets on.
For me, you don't use the helmets at all until Ruin is broken, than after its broken you wait 20 seconds, maybe 30 and than start lobbing helmets on. If it doesn't kill them, it still wastes their time getting it off. RBTs these days are actually very good at keeping Survivors off generators rather than their intended purpose of killing them.
That's why my Pig is centered around gen regression and wasting Survivors time, because more times than not if a Survivor has a RBT on their head, they'll run to the Billy boxes to remove it regardless if its activated or not. You have to know when to put it on for it to be effective in a match, you don't just put it on when you down the first Survivor...
-
I have to agree with Tru3, the concept of balance in this game is way off from a lot of other games.
Being pinned with solo survivors will more times than not end in your demise, and the only real way to stand a chance in a Trial is with a SWF. All on coms, all spacial awareness, etc. There is no real negative to being in a SWF, and this applies to the cream of the crop to even the worst SWFs.
I've stated before in other posts that SWFs has become less of an issue over-time, but that's due to me getting used to it and just overall getting better at the game as a Killer main. But I can agree, that despite it being less of an issue, it STILL IS an issue. If a SWF is playing for fun, an action debuff wouldn't be an issue for them.
But we all know why people play in SWFs, its either to stand a chance, to play with your friends, or to be toxic. And 9 times out of 10 its to be toxic or to just be a tryhard, and the concept of SWFs is still odd to this day in regards to how it plays its role in a average Trial. In Red Ranks this especially shines through as most Survivors are always on a "no fun zone" basis. If you play Red Ranks regularly like I do, you know what i'm talking about. Its literally no fun, and all sweat. I've only rarely had games where Red Rankers actually played along with a meme or two while still playing the game, but most of the time its just serious play 24/7.
Any other game would consider this, but this one doesn't. And its never elaborate on why that is the case...

The game rewards you for a longer game. This also applies to shorter chases, more hits, and generator protection.
If you just kill all the Survivors after getting the required amount of Devour Hope stacks to do so... you won't really be rewarded. Its like going in the game with a Ebony Memento Mori, you'll get nothing from it really unless you use it as a finish rather than using it when they get hooked once.

I didn't say that I must slug to get a 4k. I said that I can get a guaranteed 4k by slugging the 3th one
@Groxiverde It isn't really though, if you know they're slugging the other Survivor they really wont bother getting them. This in turn wastes both the two Survivors time, and yours as well.
Once they drop dead, you can go find the hatch. OR if you're lucky, you can find the hatch before they die and just wait around it (not in a locker, that's a terrible idea.) You'd have more fun, and an overall quicker end to the game if you hook the 3rd Survivor and sacrifice them. This in turn will let both of you find The Hatch, and the rest follows suit.

If you've been stuck in a purgatory like dream scape for 3 years, you're bound to not give a crap at some point.
In all seriousness, Claudette and Dwight don't look like what you're describing as a "confident run" when being chased. And Jake looks absolutely terrified, and so is Quentin when you look at their faces. When they run, its just a standard run though.

I get 4ks just fine, even in Red Ranks. Granted, its not all the time so don't automatically assume that i'm talking like an elitist.
Of course I won't 4k all the time, but saying you have to slug to get a 4k at all is completely false...

Its just a basic understand of the Killers power and mechanics and that's really it...
Perks help, but its not required. Some people believe perks are the only way to counter certain Killers, but that's completely false. This stigma is either created out of anger from losing to that specific Killer so often, or just the classic "herd mentality." If someone says this about something, it must be true right? Wrong.
Also, if you've played the role of Killer, that also helps in understanding that specific Killers weaknesses as well. I feel Killer mains have a better understanding of how to play against other Killer mains due to them having a basic understanding of that Killer themselves.

Many different reasons.
- Someone could be watching a video waiting for others to load the lobby
- A survivor could just be doing it intentionally to get a rise out of others
- The ping could be going high-wire and they're seeing if it'll get stable or not
- The lobby isn't full yet
- They could of just forgot
It all depends really.

You don't make a mistake, botch the fix, and call it a day.
Hes honestly just a dead concept now sadly, and other Killers like LeatherFace are next in line for a rework anyways.

this game doesnt need a live stream every 2 weeks.. barely anything changes gameplay wise nowadays
I have to agree with this one, its mostly for patches or what have you for that week, or its for the Q&As they sometimes have also.
This game only gets gameplay changes when new DLC drops, and that's mostly for Killers. Nothing really changes for Survivors except a new Survivor(s) or new perks.

It’s used in 86%+ of games at R1.
You’re not going to get any traction here since so many people crutch on the perk.
Don’t worry though. Self Care was used by 80%+ of Survivors at one point. This made them all scream “OP!!!! Please nerf!!!!”
80%+ of Killers use Ruin? They need it. /s
@altruistic I can agree most people crutch on the perk with Killers that don't need it what so ever.
But I also must add that some Killers require the perk to actually stand a chance in some cases. Like for example, Myers at Tier l requires Ruin to get to Tier ll as it could take him 20 seconds to get Tier ll or 2 minutes. It all depends on the Survivors mistakes or sneaking up on them.
Its the same argument with NOED, some Killers do need it, but most of the time people just use it because they're either not skilled enough to play without it, or just for the sake of being toxic.

No no no I die every match killer know's exactly what my perks are and every one escape's, even when I'm in a completely random locker or behind a wall where they can't know where I'm at. I will not tolerate this targeting I will make it awful for other players. You all know what's going on .
I really don't... and nobody else here does. You specifically being targeted doesn't apply to everyone else here.
Maybe take a break from Survivor so they stop actively searching for you during that time frame?

Six months? Nope, he's getting the Freddy treatment. They'll look at him again in 2021.

This comment is depressing.
Its pretty accurate though. His entire concept of what made him unique is fairly dead now, and it was mostly due to the community pressuring them to do it.
Now people want it reversed? Too bad lmao, that's not how it works. If the community yells loud enough for something to get nerfed, it will not just get nerfed, but buried. This may be different for some cases, for DS it took them 2 years, for Legion it took them a few months after his inception. I guess a Killer has more priority over a broken perk... (I'm talking Pre-Patch DS.)
