@BackByDaylight Again, I doubt anyone is going to remember you if they do this to you.
And if you're playing at green ranks regularly, you'll expect to get tunneled. If you play at Red Ranks, its a rare occurrence but can still happen. Invest in DS if you don't want to get tunneled.
If you're talking about a Survivor tunneling you, than... face walls when picking up Survivors? I can't explain how a SWF has become less of a threat over-time for me. They can still be an issue, but they're not really a devastating force that 90% of people here claim they're.
-
@Ghostingmyteammates Anything close to an animation would be something like... a Survivor gasps for air as their hand reach's out in-front of them, than they drop dead.
Its a bleed out, I wasn't really expecting an animation when I first saw it happen tbh.
-
@Sairek I've waited for a matchmaking patch since they announced that DCing would get harsher punishments in dedicated servers.
Still waiting...
-
Such an odd post.
Is this supposed to be a threat to anyone you specifically know or just people in-general? Because tbh, people rarely ever remember the names of those they were being toxic too or just in-general they don't remember their names.
-
Its amazing a mobile port of this game was even considered in the first place...

Which doesn't actually tax facecampers, but taxes the one on the hook, as you already stated
Yeah... In a sense its only for the person on the Hook, but if you think about it, it taxes a Face camper wasting time on thirsting for a Kill.
If 4 Survivors stack this in rank 20, the Killer would never win. Which is good, they should take routes outside their comfort zone, and improve upon them.
Camping isn't the end all way to Kill someone or get back at someone you hate, its more satisfying to destroy their team and break their spirits :)
-
It just taxes facecampers imo, in "high level play" the perk isn't actually an issue.
You'll still die on 3 hooks, it really doesn't matter if you die earlier from the timer, its just a bonus at that point.
-
Its called getting memed on young one.
-
Ports from the original product and system is always inferior.
Originally this game was on PC and was ported later on to PS4, Xbox One, and even The Switch now apparently... And we're getting a Mobile too (Unless that was just fake stuff being passed around).
The point is, if you're originally invested into the PC and try to play the Console version, you'll understand how bad it is in comparison. If you're a PS4 or Xbox main, and than you go on PC you'll experience the opposite effect (most likely).
-
DS only rewards Survivors who face a tunneling Killer.
So don't tunnel the DS user, don't tunnel anyone IN-GENERAL.
Simple...
-
I see the matchmaking still hasn't gotten better...

Not to argue you with you or anything but Compass doesn't exist anymore. They are now called Trancas International Films and have produced every Halloween movie including 2018. So getting the 2018 mask wont be as hard as it sounds.
The only hiccup might be Universal who co-owns 2018. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2018 cosmetics are tied up in negotiations with a Universal themed chapter (Dracula, Conjuring, Child's Play, The Ring).
Like how the SAW cosmetics and Ash were negotiated together.
The fact they can be negotiated though is why I find it odd they never are...
And its also odd that the entire concept to even mention the Mask and in-general the movie is also... odd...

Yeah, I definitely agree with you. And i'm not sure myself why they haven't given out some hints, but it's probably some contract stuff like you said.
We may never know, which is sad to say. But my hope is to get a answer even if its a small one... Anything could give some insight on these questions and the concept as a whole.
-
@TerminatorGuy said:
This is because the 2018 mask is held by a separate license holder. Miramax Films owns the rights to the the 2018 mask, while Compass International Pictures owns the rights to the original movie and mask as seen in DBD. If the devs wanted to get the new mask, they would have to talk to Miramax which is probably like getting the rights to a whole new character. They might be focusing on getting ACTUAL licensed characters instead of cosmetics. That being said, I hope we do get that new mask someday.
So why isn't this addressed in a statement by DBD?
If this is the case, why is the question of adding the mask or getting the rights just flat out ignored? Its an odd answer to give since the question goes back to even when Michael Myers first came out, people asked about the Rob Zombie masks and looks for the character, but the questions are ignored at every turn.
Are they under contract to not say anything or something?
-
@G0lden_Ra1den said:

Well yes there would have to be licensing needed to be done, but if the Pig and Tapp can get new cosmetics (even though nobody asked for them) and now, with Dead by Daylight getting the arguably biggest licensed contract this game has seen, getting new cosmetics for Micheal (and maybe an older looking Laurie, maybe with her jacket and wearing glasses) should not be so much of a problem other than a however long time consumption. And money of course, but that shouldn’t be a problem because this game is going to get a whole lot more players pretty soon.
This is true, but its odd that an official statement to these questions is never given. The question is outright ignored... I've asked in multiple dev Q&As, posts, discussions, I've even asked devs out right, and its ignored at every turn.
Why is that? Whats the big secret?
-
@Chaotic_Riddle said:
It's due to licensing issues. They can't exactly get the rights to change a character's appearance or add new cosmetics to them without the owner's permission, and that takes awhile. Since they managed to get cosmetics for Pig, however, this means we might be able to see the possibility of Freddy, Mike, and Leather all getting some new cosmetics in the future, but don't quote me on that.
That may be true, but the question pertains to an OFFICIAL statement as this is all pretty much speculation.
They dodge the question without even giving a reason, so saying it a licensing issue could possible be true, or it could be way off the target. While this seems like the more practical reason, its not an official sited thing they've said.
Its odd that they never actually bother giving a reason to this, its as if its forbidden to talk about...

More or less it goes like this :
Elite Survivors -> Elite Killers -> Casual Survivors -> Casual Killers
Bad Killers -> Bad Survivors -> Newbie Killers -> Newbie Survivors.
Rank 20 - Rank 10 Killers are more dominant, once you hit Rank 10, the tables flip and Survivors dominate that bracket of Ranks 10 to Rank 1.
Depends, they only dominate when they're in a SWFs at Rank 10 - 1 or if the Solo Survivor team actual does well.
Otherwise its usually the opposite of that when it comes to Rank 10 - 1.
Anything below those ranks are just noobs, and saying Rank 10 is somewhat of a challenge is a big stretch, just because of the fact that most Killers rely on NOED at that rank... Or just because they're not... "adjusted" enough to the meta I suppose?
It all comes down to person preference, but that's the way I look at it with my 1100 hours into this game.

NOED has been rampant lately primarily that nice little green emblem that allows a killer to insta down you without much work, lately in the forums people have been telling each other to work on totems. Sometimes that isn't so easy to do without wasting too much time, now this is where my favorite perk which is severely underrated because not many killers ran NOED before but now..... IT IS FANTASTIC.
I get a lot of hate mails from killers for breaking all the totems, the sadness killers experience as that NOED isn't popping up. Small Game is a life saver and a time saver, I'm glad this perk has finally been useful and doesn't feel like a waste of space. I highly suggest you run this perk for those pesky totems.
NOED has been rampant since they updated it to give the exposed status effect to all tiers of the perk.
Its mostly dominant at Yellow, Green and Purple Ranks. You sometimes see it in Red Ranks but that's only when its on a Killer like Wraith, Trapper, or Freddy 1.0
Its just a throw away perk that taxes on bad Survivors, that's literally it...
-
Does it matter if you got reported?
Let them be salty they lost, they're not the first to do this because they couldn't prove they were the elites.

More or less. However it has zero effect on he game cause it only works when you are swatting the air. It used to give the Killer a speed boost when they did it and was exploitive, but they fixed that. Can still swat at the air like you’re smoking crack, which looks goofy as hell, but it doesn’t do anything anymore.
I guess if you add it with agitation it can be a threat to... mid-ranks? I guess?
That's still not really a bannable offense. If they were dropping people like flys while holding a Survivor and walking at lightning speeds... than yeah. Otherwise no... its just some funny meme you can do.

I play him base and with any addon i want to throw on him be it; all-seeing blood+windstorm blood, beast+windstorm, coxcomb/bone+ghost. he is fun and reliable regardless
@FireHazard I agree freddy 1.0 was the most fun killer that was ever in the game and if you knew how to use him he was quite the challenge to over build. (i p2 him and stockpiled class photos and red paintbrushes so I could use my all seeing ninja build) had survivors pop into the dream world with me on the other side of the wall they immediately stopped stopped every time
My favorite was the mile long rope to use on Survivor to sleep them from across the map with both Sketch add-ons.
Freddy 1.0 was truly something special, but its for the best when we're talking about the majority that he was reworked, but I'll still have a special place in my heart for Freddy 1.0

Have you spoken to 51% of the player base to confirm this? Otherwise your anecdotal 'fact' is worthless.
What else did people buy him for, for a Survivor that's literally the same as every other shmuck? All Survivors have nothing unique about them except their perks, its kinda obvious what people bought him for.
Most people who bought him didn't even use Ash lmao, they just leveled him for MoM and back in the dumpster he went, i'm glad his perk got nerfed, because people actually used him more after that.
-
@Atrushan88 said:
@FireHazard That's mainly my point. They're bad, but it doesn't stop killers from using them, and it doesn't stop me from seeing them quite often, and it's really unbalanced.
It really doesn't matter if they exist tbh, it just shows a Killers skill if that's their only resort to kill certain Survivors they don't like.
Or it just shows they're too lazy and wanna have a short match. OR its just to have a bit of fun. Either way, weather its removed or not its ultimately something that won't make a difference to how you regularly make your rounds as a Killer in any rank.
-
I think Leatherface is the worst killer to play, but I think hes bs to play against sometimes as a Survivor.
But that's just because i'm a terrible Survivor, so its obvious you can tell I main Killer.

When using mad grit, and miss an attack while carrying a survivor, the missed attacked cooldown virtually isnt there so you can spam the attack while carrying someone. This was introduced in the ptb with the freddy rework (but there wasnt any acknowledgment from the devs to this, of my knowledge.)
So... its basically just Pre-Patch Feral Frenzy with how fast you can swing it?
No, that isn't bannable. Even if they somehow could use that to down a Survivor, its less effective than if I just did it myself without holding a Survivor.

Universal in a way that makes sense... Plus you know Nea would be the one using a mori if she could
Shes the Entity, there's no point for her to dirty her own hands.
-
@Mew said:
Is the hit spam with mad grit bannable? Or is it intended?
Elaborate on this please... the perks so un-used that I have no idea what you're talking about.
If you mean the killer swatting the air like someone swatting flys on a summer day? Than no, its not.
-
So... we should make moris universal so Survivors can have a crutch offering too?
...Lets do it... I wanna see Claudette rip trappers head off...
-
Too be honest, this is the most hyped chapter because of the Stranger things fanbase, but also because this is actually the first "beast-like" humanoid killer we've ever had.
Hag could be debated to be a "beast-like" killer, but she was originally a human, this thing... was never human. This is basically the pumpkin head type Killer a lot of people have wanted for awhile.
-
@Alfred said:
Use term "reworked legion"....
I think no matter what version he is, people will still despise him.
They could remove his power entirely and make him the easiest Killer to beat, and people will still hate and complain about him.
Legion doesn't get a break, and most likely never will.

Not changing your mind but freddy 1.0 wasn't even that bad to play
It really wasn't, if you knew how to use him he was actually a threat... dare I say... fun?
Like seriously, he was truly very unique, but most people wrote him off as the worst killer because he wasn't the most... "noob friendly" I suppose? Like don't get me wrong, he had huge issues with his power and design with progression in a match... But at least you can have fun with him, Leatherface? Hes just a headache and should honestly get a rebuild as well.

Hey I like Ash...and the Evil Dead franchise! I bought his dlc for him only...though, for both Leatherbutt, and Ashy Slashy, they gave them one perk that everyone wanted. Though MoM was nerfed and BBQ is still the same basically. Everyone runs it for them blood points.
Like, YOU personally may have bought the DLC for Ash, but lets be honest... Most people buy Ash for the same reason people buy Leatherface... Cause of the one perk they come with that's OP or Meta.
-
@DocFabron said:
It's Legion. Without a doubt. At least Leatherface's power has SOME usage. FF does piss-all. Damn shame...
Legion can actually be a threat if you use him correctly.
I'd love to argue that Leatherface is actually worse than Pre-Freddy, cause Leatherface can be bullied so easily, that its not even funny. His one useful perk combo is Enduring + Spirit fury, and his only REAL threat of a add-on combo is Beast Marks + Tuning Guide.
Seriously, change my mind...
-
@Groxiverde said:
old DS (I still have nightmares) took 3 years to be nerfed so don't expect much from these devs
It was argued back then that MoM was made to get sales going for Ash's DLC.

- Screw the top players. The top players are not representative of the entire player base. This is NOT an e-sport. It's not Overwatch with millions on the line between two equal teams. The entire player base matters, new and old.
- Legion was a broken, toxic, ######### killer when he was released, full of exploits and bs. He deserved the entire rework.
I've grown to accept that this is true, the DBD community has updates centered around the majority, not the minority of "top players."
Like yeah, I play with the top (aka usually the most toxic and sweaty) but I don't expect them to center their updates around the sweatier side of their game. Like you said, this isn't an E-sports, its just a casual party game.
-
Moris honestly just exist to give Killers an easier time with Survivors, at the cost of less points and game-play of course.
It doesn't really matter if Moris were removed from the game or not... I think they only exist for what I said above, and to give each killer an animation when killing a Survivor.
As far as i'm concerned, moris are basically worthless.
-
People still talk about a 2v8?
Its possible I guess yeah, since we've seen how the game handles more than 1 killer on the screen... (It handles it surprisingly well...) but having this happen in the game itself is more-so a party mode if anything.
Nothing to really add to the actual ranking matches of DBD, just one of those off-set modes to play when you're bored of regular DBD.
-
We're honestly just missing Jason and Chucky, but Chucky is too small to be a killer and Jason has a whole lot of licensing issues...
Especially with the previous times he was used in games lemme tell ya...

I feel like I need this on copy-paste, but here goes:
I've played World of Warcraft since 2007. I am exalted with all but two of the 100+ reputation factions in the game, a long-term grind that took multiple years of concerted effort.
If Blizzard were to announce an easier revision or a complete overhaul to the reputation system, I would understand, because it's a pretty outdated garbage system, and it could stand to be much more player-friendly in a lot of places. I would not expect a reward, because this is something I freely chose to do with my time. An overhaul would be good for the health of the game, which is way more important in the long-term than upsetting some immature players.
It's just a video game. The time and effort spent playing it is not a life accomplishment. I don't need some cool exclusive skin to pacify me, because nothing is being taken away, and a positive change to the game is nothing to be upset over in the first place.
I agree, that's also why I said above "It doesn't really matter if legacy skins ever come back, let alone anything exclusive, it would just be a nice little bonus"
Nobody reads anything anymore huh?
