Yeah , exactly. I Have a video uploading now. I'll post it soon.
That's not really necessary as I've seen this happen in-game myself through various matches I've had with the Ruin + Surveillance combo. Do as you wish though, you can use it in your report if you'd like.

Thank you for your replies @FireHazard.
I understand why BHVR would keep the details vague, to prevent "gaming" the penalty.
However, I think there are players, including me, who are willing to accept disconnect penalties because of internet issues, but who don't want to have a secret ban looming.
Essentially, if the game tells me via disconnect penalties "Your internet is acting up, take a day or two off until you fix it", that's fine for me. I think the secret ban criteria is a bit harder to accept.
Yes, I understand what you mean.
A lot of players have come forward about this issue, since their internet also isn't the greatest and as a result crashes mid-match. As you know, once you crash intentionally or not, you'll still be issued a penalty as a result.
That's one of the main issues a lot of players have with the system at the moment. As I say to all of them though, I do hope something happens to make a compromise for those players, but at the moment I don't know if that will happen. The DC Penalty System is still relatively new, so i'm sure something will come of it once enough feedback is given.

It's how it's always worked for me. The regression ends naturally and the aura goes from white to red. Survivors STOPPING regression turns it yellow.
Well yes, that's how its supposed to work, but the OP is asking if it's supposed to stay white even after it's fully regressed, which it's not supposed to since the description says and I quote "Once regression ends, Generators will be highlighted by a yellow Aura for 8/12/16 seconds."

I don't use ruin. Played 2 games with Surveillance alone and in both the gens stayed white. I intentionally stood next to one to make sure it was fully regressed. Then when it stayed white I got a survivor to go there and work on it and it went yellow.
Than it's just bugged overall, that sometimes happens with Ruin as well since the combo itself does this to multiple Generators at a time, but alone is rarer I suppose.
Perhaps the perk is conflicting with the recent update, since I haven't see it happen beforehand, but again, I could be wrong. In any case, no, this isn't supposed to be happening. You can confirm this by looking in the perks description itself, which says and I quote "Once regression ends, Generators will be highlighted by a yellow Aura for 8/12/16 seconds."
If you'd like to report this as a bug, than i'll link the Bug Report sub-forum below.

It only shows the aura while the generator is regressing. If it goes back to zero, then the perk effect goes away.
You do also have the passive of extra gen repair noise, so a good set of headphones is advised.
Yes, but he's asking if it's supposed to do that, which it's not.
It's an odd bug that sometimes happens, but I believe it started around Ruins rework due to how Ruin works currently. I could be wrong though, it could just be a small visual thing that's happening from time to time with the aura reading on The Generators.

True but adding more places like the PTB for the other versions would benefit the games health greatly.
I think the Rank Rework and other such balance issues is more important than the PTB being added for every version.
That's not to say i'm against it, but i'm sure the team has other priorities elsewhere at this time from a logical stand-point. It's a popular opinion though, so I wouldn't doubt something will be said in the future. If not, than i'm sure the console community will still keep it in-mind so "BHVR doesn't forget" I guess...
Also, i'd argue that a PTB for the other versions wouldn't benefit the games healthy greatly, but it would be a good "quality of life" improvement for the other versions of the game, so again, the concept is not what i'm against, i'm just saying that the team is spread out at this time (most likely) because of other issues that're plaguing the game at the moment.

@Boosted_Dwight said:
It shouldn't be showing the generators as white if the gen is fully regressed. Were you using Ruin? That could be affecting it.
It's a small bug that has been happening with the Ruin combo, I haven't tried it with Surveillance solo, but this shouldn't be the case as Surveillance explicitly states the aura vanishes after the gen has fully regressed.
My guess is that the 200% penalty from Ruin (Tier lll) is still causing the aura to appear, since the Generator is still "Damaged" even at 0%, or the perk itself could just be bugged and sometimes does this as a result.
-
Ok so, i'll just answer both these questions in the "realest" way I can, just so everything is in order.
question 1 "Does the disconnect penalty depend on in-game time or real time?"
We have no idea, the community can't tell you this answer and BHVR explicitly made sure that answer wasn't publicly given to avoid anyone from abusing the new system.
All we know is that the disconnection penalty decays overtime, and is working as intended. So as some believe "It resets at X time" that's not the case, the community knows as much as you do and that's for a good reason. All we know is that the penalty decays overtime from a quote that Mandy gave on another question related to this one, and that's it.
Question 2 "Are there bans for disconnecting or is the scope of the disconnect penalty strictly limited to the lockout matchmaking."
Yes, there is. Before the DC Penalty System was implemented, a vague amount of DCing would land you an in-game ban. This is still the case at this time, but the DC Penalty System ensures that hardly anyone will make it. The vague amount was, again, to prevent people from abusing the system and it's still unknown to keep it that way.
If this is not the case at the time of reading this, than the DC Penalty System would take over for the old DC Banning system. But as far as i'm aware, they're both implemented to prevent any abuse with both systems.

BHVR is definitely interested in unique chase music, as seen with The Doctors rework, so I wouldn't doubt it's a possibility for the other Killers as well, rework or buff.

The PTB can indeed be done on all platforms. Keeping up on the Data from all platforms would be the complicated part.
Here are examples of how games do PTB's on Console:
Overwatch: An Experimental Card, this card is where they will change all Heroes to their PTR state for consoles. This is their Public Test Realm.
PUBG: A PTS (Public Test Server) application, this application used to be a standalone application for consoles. But then got changed to a Xbox Insider's application instead (just like minecraft is on Consoles)
So it is indeed possible for all platforms, but it is unknown if they will ever do this do to the data collection complications.
We'll have to see than, we have no information on if BHVR even wants to implement something like that or not.
I just doubt that it's something they're interested at the moment, since Chapter 15 is arriving soon and the Rank Rework that's being worked on behind the scene are taking up some time.

I beg to differ. When I last played two weeks ago I played a total of 6 killer matches at the borderline green rank threshold. 5 of those 6 games I was paired up with rank one survivors who literally escaped in 3:30. So yes, it most definitely is screwed up and yes it is unplayable like some make it out to be.
It's different for everyone, that i'll admit, but no it's not unplayable because of this set-back.
The match-making is different for every player, and if you experience it more often THAN I can understand how you feel, but if you only experience it sometimes like some players, than it's still playable.
I also suffer from this, but it's the opposite for me since I naturally play with Red Rank Survivors and vice versa, so facing lower ranked Survivors and/or Killers is odd from time to time. As someone who faces the opposite though, I can see why it would be frustrating to face a Red Rank Killer when your skill-set is more around Green (not an insult), so if you experience the issue more often than it makes sense why you're not happy about it. But for someone like me for example, I sometimes face it and sometimes don't.
But besides that...
All in all, debating it doesn't really matter, what does matter is that the issue exists and that BHVR is taking the necessary measures to improve the match-making overall.
I'm sorry you and other players have been experiencing a unfair pairing in the match-making at this time, but it will improve!
-
With the recent implementation to the past 2 DLCs, The Oni and Demogorgon, and the upcoming DLC adding unique chase music as well, it would be nice to see the original Killers like The Wraith, The Trapper, The Hillbilly, etc, get their own chase music as well.
I'd assume since Trapper is the face of DBD, his would stay as the default, but it would be nice to see other Killers like Legion, Wraith, etc, get their own chase music as well.

I haven't had any noticable trouble. I play Switch pretty regularly now, am in green ranks survivor and yellow in killer. Killer games take longer, but I consider that normal given its the same for me across PC and PS4, but I've never felt I've had to wait especially long unless I'm in a SWF group, which, again, has been consistent for me across platforms.
Perhaps it's because of his rank, region, or time of day.
Unfortunately the OP hasn't really said much about those, but we can only assume it has something to do with that, since a lot of queue times are determined by these three factors and other small bits here and there.
-
It has to do with hitboxes and lag for when this happens. Sometimes you'll go around a corner and nearly get hit by the hatchet, other times you'll have your whole body go around the corner but the hatchet hits you anyways.
It's a looming issue that a fair amount of Survivors have said in the past, but it's unknown if a fix will be made for this at the moment. I can say Dedicated Servers have helped with this a bit, but I think it goes deeper because of how the hitboxes interact with each other.

That's reasonable. Kinda disappointing because I wanted to get online to grind BP but I'm noy gonna subject myself to that torture
It depends how you look at it, yes the match-making for all ranks is out of wack at the moment, but it's still playable if you look deeper into it. If you're a lower ranked Survivor, than it's a hit or miss if you'll get a Red/Purple Ranked Killer, but sometimes it does work as intended and gives you the proper ranked Killer to play with.
To say this always happens is an exaggeration, of course you'll be paired with the right ranks for most-ish of the time, but of course the system will sometimes pair you with higher tiered Killers as well from time to time, so the issue is still there.
The same applies for Killer, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it's not unplayable as some players make it out to be. Eventually the system will be reworked though, so it's not going to be like this forever. But for lower ranked Survivors/Killers, I can see why it's a struggle sometimes when you're paired with Red Rank Killers/Survivors that're far above your natural skill-set.

I have like 50+ triggered survivors each day, because of tunneling and camping. Many of them tell me that they report me. Now imagine 10 000 or more players. That can be 500 000+ reports per day. What if devs have only 1-2 guys looking at reports? What if they dont work full-time? I believe there must be priority list.
I doubt only 1 or 2 people work on the in-game reports each day, and when most people say "i'm going to report you" that usually means they're just trying to scare you and don't actually report you.
I also doubt you have 50+ angry Survivors each day unless you intentionally fish for it, which if you don't than you must be a magnet for abuse I guess.
besides all that above...
You know as much as I do, it could a priority list OR it could be like the Support teams ticket system, where it goes over each individual in-game report one at a time within a sector of specific mods that take care of it, just like how the Support team takes on reports one at a time for each support member that's available at that time.
We have no idea how it works, but I can assure you that it does work. As said before though, you won't be notified about the in-game report again unless you follow up with a support ticket to confirm your suspicions. If you don't, than it's taken care of behind the scenes.

Being both is good, but on the topic of the bird itself it would be nice to see it re-appear in the map itself, it it doesn't already. Just so it doesn't fade out of existence once the Killer menu layout changes again.
-
I don't understand what you're asking here, the default key binds are enough to play DBD effectively as a Survivor and/or Killer.
All you honestly need as unique inputs is the E to move your camera right and Q to move your camera left, this will help when maneuvering around the map as Billy or Oni when they're in their dash animations. Besides that, that's all you need to adjust.
-
@28_stabs said:
It can be a lot of reports. I guess that reports can stack and who has more reports take the priority.
I don't really think that's how it works, like a support ticket it's taken care of in a list, when it comes up in that list than it's next to be taken care of.
They do this with the support tickets to keep things organized, so I wouldn't doubt the same is done with the in-game reports as well. But who knows, maybe it's done entirely differently, but from a logical stand-point i'd assume it would be the former.

I get people with bad internet but I know me and a few friends that just get kicked out for no reason. Even in steam maintenance I get penalized. Quite frankly I don't entirely agree with the penalty system as is. I also hope that they have it so that there is a "compromise". Because again, I'm here just doing a generator, talking in discord and I get penalized due to their bugs.
I suppose that's one way to look at it.
All in all, a fair bit of people have been talking about this issue as of late, so it's not just the OP or you that's suffering from this, even if your internet isn't to blame. But like I said, we'll have to see what happens after the feedback concludes.

You still running this build? Personally Ive been running the same build except that I use surge instead of nurses, Ive been looking into using nurses calling on Legion though, you are right this punishes survs for healing and not healing. Im guessing nurses also works while in frenzy right? I only ask because ive never ran it on him.
Yes I still use this build, even in Red Ranks is does work when properly used.
Nurse's does work in Feral Frenzy yes, so you can chain-stab people that're healing OR just go for them and down them when they least expect it. It's a fairly solid build if you're interested in utilizing Nurse's into it.

Yes, in-game reports are checked and taken care of through proper procedure. They can't exactly tell you how it's going since there isn't a way to do that, if you want to follow up with the report to add anymore information like screenshots, a decription, etc, than you can do so by submitting a support ticket to follow up with your in-game report.
If you just report it in-game, than the issue is taken care of behind the scenes, but if you're unsure if anything is being done, than you can follow up with a support ticket to confirm your suspicions.
here's the support ticket for context
https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
Real life threats and ddos attacks are of course taken seriously, so I wouldn't have any doubts that it's being ignored if that's what you're thinking, i'm sure they're either looking into it when it comes up in the list and/or already taken care of the issue.

I have only been getting dc'd because of issues with the game itself, and accumulated an over 20 minute timer. This has been accumulated since launch, and I didn't care much for the 15 minute timer - thinking it was going to reset soon because I didn't dc from games, but now it's over 20 minutes and has me worried.
This is deffiently information you shouldn't keep from the public, because then it's just an ignored issue making the game worse for players.
It's information they keep to prevent it from being abused, which it will if it was public knowledge for all to see.
I know how you feel, it's not fun to suddenly crash and than get penalized for it, but at the moment this is how the system is and hopefully a compromise will be met for players that suffer from frequent crashes from the game, their PC, or their internet.
-
That information isn't entirely known because players would abuse it if they knew.
Understandable I know how you feel when you sometimes crash in-game because of your internet or not, as I used to have that same issue when my internet wasn't as good as it is now. But the system counts crashes and intentional DCing to prevent any further abuse in-game from intentional crashing.
Hopefully this issue can improve for players that don't have the best internet though.

I, for one, quite like the new look! Of course, I love space games, and this gives me that feel!
I doubt we could be able to go back to the old forums, since one live version of the forums can exist at a time, it would be kind of odd to have to versions to maintain.
I also like the new look, it gives the forums a more clean and unique look.

How would that be a waste? If anything it’s more protection against the buffed hangman’s trick and bbq
If Off The Record doesn't stop Distortion from losing stacks, than it would be a waste of a perk slot.
If it does, than why would you use two Anti-aura perks when most Killers just run BBQ which can be negated by going within the 40 meters, hiding in a locker, or using one of those two perks, using both for that perk is not useful in my opinion. Also i'm glad Hangman's Trick got a buff, but I don't know how used it'll be in LIVE. At least, I don't know yet.

I added cross save because I feel the Devs would probably add both at the same time honestly. Otherwise we have the same line of thinking.
I mean it would make sense if they did, it's usually a packaged.
Besides that, we do see eye to eye on this yeah. Where this concept goes I don't personally know, we'll just have to wait and see.
-
There is no Q&A at the moment, usually when a Q&A is active it'll be posted in the notifications above where you see such things as the 3.6.0 PTB for example.
Also, this notification is above whenever you enter this sub-forum "Please note: Although we may stop by occasionally, this is not a developer Q&A."
So, this isn't the place to really ask things like that if you're looking for a quick answer, since the devs might stop by to answer but they might not. Right now there isn't a solid answer that anyone from the community can give on this question at this time, since we barely know any information about the possibility of cross-play with console at this time.
Also a side-note
Usually when a Q&A is active, it focuses on that chapter specifically or whatever it's about. Unless the Q&A is an open one, than it's unknown if they'll answer that specific question unfortunately.
I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Let's assume for a second it is real.
The reason its not enabled it because the Dev's are probably fine tunning it and preparing for cross save so if people want to switch they can. This also enables people to play with friends on a specific platform.
At least that's a logical conclusion as to why it would be available and added in, but still not available to the general public.
That's made sense, but we're not talking about Cross-Save, we're talking about Cross-Platform.
I just threw Cross-Progress in there since Cross-Progression usually comes with Cross-Platform play. But yes, from a logical standpoint it would seem to be not yet implemented or announced because it's either being fined tuned or the concept is on hold for other important balance issues at the moment, like the Rank Rework for example.
Again for context, I don't doubt that it's possible, but it really just depends on if the systems can handle it at the moment (with thousands of players cross-playing with others), so we'll have to see and wait for, like you said, it to be fine tuned. But we also have no information on this, so we don't 100% know what's happening behind the scenes.
It's all just speculation and theories at the moment.

I'm still playing on it. I am playing as Killer though, which is probably why I can still find games relatively quickly. Survivor is also pretty quick. I'm on the NA server though.
Usually Killer gets worse queue times, give or take.
It really just depends on time of day, your rank, and region. Some platforms for DBD are different also, some have less players on it for queue and some have more for queue.
-
If you mean does this unlocked perk in the PTB transfer over to the LIVE game and stay unlocked for other Survivor/Killers? No, any progress from the PTB, as said before, does not cross over. It doesn't matter what it is, it'll not cross over.
If you mean when you leave the PTB and than return, will it be unlocked for all Killers? No, the PTB takes a previous save file from about a week prior and uses it as a copied save file for that PTB. What this means is that any progress from that PTB, once the PTB ends, will no longer exist when a new PTB is made. One a new PTB is made, it takes a week old (give or take) save file and uses that as the save file you play on in the new PTB.
In a short and sweet answer, no.

Yea that's basically what I'm saying and I know that it would have to be a rework of the system but still unfair to me and the other people that have that issue. Like right now the game kicked me out when i wasn't even lagging nor did my internet go out. So got my 5 minute penalty because of it
I totally understand, I used to have terrible internet that would crash and drop me constantly, I was lucky enough to upgrade that internet to a better provider BUT other players are not as fortunate as I was.
I would like to see something happen with this to help out the players with worse internet, or periodically crash, but because of the potential abuse players could do with intentional crashing... it's hard to say if this will be changed. I don't personally know, but I do hope something happens to help these players.
-
No, it doesn't.
The PTB doesn't transfer progress over to the LIVE game for several reasons, but one of them is to let people use their Auric Cells and Shards without worrying about losing them when the PTB ends. I doubt this would ever be changed to go into the LIVE game after a PTB ends.
-
@KJay said:
One time where the game decided to kick me out to the server connection screen... I hadn't DC'ed at all during the system is enabled. But insted of just the 5 minute penalty, it gave me 10? Maybe the system should be changed so that it doesn't counts if game kicks you out like that. My internet was completely fine, no lag at all. So maybe look into that? Shouldn't have to suffer penalty because of the game kicking you out for no apparent reason.
That's the number one question people have about the system, at least the players that abruptly crash every now and then.
I honestly hope this can get sorted out, but it's not really possible to determine if a crash was intentional or not, so they'd have to make it so every crash is negated by the system.
-
No, I don't think Off The Record would negate the token use for Distortion.
Comboing them kind of makes no sense anyways. If by the off chance it doesn't waste a token, than there wouldn't be a point to combo them anyways since it would be kind of a waste of a perk slot to use 2 perks that negates aura reading.

Ok, have just tested it and this is not the case, I waited a whole 24 (and a few more) hours before DCing again, and I still got the 15 minute penalty. Based on what other people have said I believe that you go down one level every 12 hours, not completely reset every 24
I mean, "Decays overtime" as Mandy said doesn't mean it resets at 24 hours.
But that's all i'm willing to go with this conversation, i'd suggest not prodding at it any further, it's not really something you should experiment with.
-
Your explanation is above for how the perk works, but i'll explain it a bit more below if you're still curious on how useful the perk is. On Killers like Billy or Spirit, Devour Hope can be an insane good perk to have, since both Killers can down and hook Survivors fairly quickly, depending on how good those Survivors are against you that is or vice versa.
If you manage to get 3 stacks with Devour Hope than you can start M1ing people and insta-down them with the exposed status effect, which usually gives you a free down and gambles the last stack on if you can get 5 to Mori a Survivor or not.
If you're lucky, you'll have 5 stacks and can start Mori'ing Survivors without an Ebony or Ivory Mori being burnt pre-match! The main difference this perk has to NOED is that NOED requires all Generators to be activated and have at least one Dull totem left to project itself onto it, making it a Hex totem when NOED is active. Now, to me Devour Hope is more rewarding since you earn the stacks and get the exposed effect through your own effort, while NOED just activates no matter what if 5 Generators or done, which is where the "It rewards failure" mentality comes in, since the perk usually does help Killers that're... not the best out, which isn't a bad thing, but it turns into a crutch after awhile if used too much.
With Devour Hope is more "fair" I suppose? Since you can break it early and it won't really be sought after unless found by accident, so you can usually get a sneak exposed hit off and a lucky gamble to get 1 or 2 or even 3 Mori's if nobody finds the Hex before that happens.

I'll assume you just got the game for the Switch version and just started out around Yellow or Grey rank. If this is the case, than both those ranks naturally have long queue times due to not many players being in them, especially a bit late into the rank reset that happened 7 days ago.
Once you climb the ranks, you'll eventually get better queue times as a result. The queue times can also be determined by the time of day you're in, since not many people could be playing at that time, or the region you're in when playing DBD, which also affects your queue times a bit.
If you're in Green Ranks (Which you can see what rank you're in by checking the top right corner of the Killer/Survivor menu), than it sometimes has long queue times at that rank for console, but don't quote me on that since i'm not 100% sure. Each platform is different, and the match-making might be worse or better depending on what version of the game that's.

I don't know personally if this would be good balance wise, the flying mechanic would have to be limiting and require a cool-down when landing in certain areas, but not too long to make the power seem useless.
The unique perks would also have to be centered around flying and moths, probably a perk around light sources and how this cripples Survivors, just replace light with Generators or something, maybe make it a tracking perk for the Mothman themselves.
It would be a unique idea, we haven't gotten a flying Killer yet so it could be an interesting take on the meta.

I don't know why you'd cripple yourself to play like that, but if you're wondering if it's immediately bannable than that's another story. It isn't really giving you an advantage since you're hindering yourself more if you play like that, so it's more likely that it's a "play at your own risk" type of situation, like with the portrait changes and perk color schemes players use in and out of games.

why does it matter since PC players and Console players don't play together
It depends, we have seen Cross-Platform play with Windows and Steam (since it's LIVE right now), but with Console? On a wide scale? That's yet to be seen or talked about at the moment, so we'll see what happens.
I don't doubt BHVR is interested in Cross-Platform, but these things take time to put into the LIVE game.

It is possible a hacker on reddit managed to get on the ps4 servers from the pc
That's not really confirmation that it's ready for a mainstream service, one player vs thousands players isn't solid evidence that it's possible.
I don't doubt that it is, but you don't know what's keeping it from happening and neither do I. That's why we need to wait until more is said on it, we have very little information to go off of.
