  • I wasn't even aware of the event. Try hard...ehh, hard for me to tell. I recently started my "Naked Dwight" self challenge. So far, I'm up to rank 12. No perks, no items, just an offering.

Having a lot of fun not taking myself seriously.

On the flip side, after all this time, I finally decided to buckle down and master Nurse. For me, personally, wow, what a learning curve. Still only rank 13, as I just came back from a 4 month hiatus...but yeah, steep learning curve. Rarely do I get a 4k.

So, no, I've actually enjoyed playing again..Civ5 was fun and all, but I'm back for a bit.

I thought when I was using Insidious that I was actually invisible. In my defense, that seemed the only plausible explanation for the way survivors behaved when I used it.

OMG YES!!!!! I completely forgot about this one.

I would stand with Billy in a corner, watching a hooked survivor, thinking I was invisible...OMG, such a noob. Survivors would come in all slowly, crouched, doing that inch by inch thing.

Thank you, seriously, laughed out loud, called me Son in to read this one. We just looked at each other really quick and didn't say a word, then bust out laughing.

  • Wait, I'm lost....is Legion the FotM killer or something? Ran into Legion more than a couple times on my way through the ranks, no one DCed or threw salt in the chat.

    What's the delaio?

With no penalty window juking? No you didn't...

  • I thought nurse was the weakest killer and Freddy was the strongest. (Serious)

    I gotta play Freddie more.

I HONESTLY think he is a strong Killer. The pig scares me the most, with the jump scare #########. I still scream out loud like a little girl.

Freddie though...I have decent headphones and still have trouble locating where a killer is coming from..Freddie I can't even see. Just staring at grass all day. Freddie gets me just about every time.

  • About twice a year.

For some strange reason, I believe shards have some value, or will have more value in the future. So it's gotta be a perks I really really want. Blood points? A good weekend and I can get 500K, so, no sense it that trade off.

  • No.

I've been having a blast playing as survivor without any perks.

  • I go for the classics myself.

Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly: The Original 3 wise men.

I'm P3 on Hillbilly. He used to be labeled "hard" which is why I chose him...now he is listed easy for some reason.

  • Bought the game, haven't spent a dime since.

By the way, how does the store work. Is it either or, or both. Like I see something for sale for shards, but there is a cell cost as well. I only have about 15K shards saved...just wondered.

  • Do nurses break pallets? I've been watching some players kind of just keep them as obstacles for survivors.

Also, can I control my blink direction while blinking...I've tried a couple times and it looks like I can control my camera, not sure if it's moving me though.

  • What do you consider toxic for survivor and killer?

    Nothing is "toxic".

Body blocking the killer - Annoying at times and kills immersion, but not toxic.

Flashlights - part of the game. When are they supposed ot be used, when the killer is running at them?

Teabagging - Hey, if that's the way you want to spend your time, getting me to chase you? Part of the game.

Face camping - Part of the game. If the killer wants to spend time hanging around one hooked survivor, blood points will suffer.

Pallet looping - Part of the game. Don't like chasing someone you can't catch? Don't. Go see if everyone is as good. Break the pallet, chase, can't catch, move on.

MoM - Only seen it a handful of times. This MIGHT be the only legitimate complaint. Saw the video where a Billy chainsaw didn't down the player. That's almost like a pay to win situation. I mean, it wasn't even like Borrowed time wherein at least a bleed out timer was started.

Wait....did I just read "head nodding"...toxic? Are you joking? It's hard to take some of this seriously, you know...

People want to be hated SO badly. They come here to brag about being hated. They build YouTube channels off of it.

I used to be a league Admin for CoD2 at Teamwarfare League. Anyway, when one team would challenge another team, there was an unmonitored section were teams could ######### talk each other. 99.9999% of the time, it was cordial, playful...this generation of gamers though. I don't know....you people scare me.

Even tho this guy deserves to be name-shamed to hell and beyond.

Name-shamed for what? An insult? You're serious?

  • 10+ minutes? No sympathy from me....you fed into it.

The community state of this game is the worst I've ever seen.

For a lot of players, the objective isn't the game, it's personal. The objective is to grief other players to the point of "rage quitting". More than that, players will even make up hate. Although they have no communication during the match, they WANT to assume that they are making the other player angry. I mean, it so bad, it difficult to even describe.

To simply kill all survivors, or to escape is NOT enough. You don't win until your sure the other player (killer/survivor) is losing their #########.

I can't stand the idea of "toxicity". There is nothing toxic in this game. If it's working as intended, then it's just players playing the game. But that's the mark of how bad it's become. Thinking or believing that your play style is "toxic" makes you a better player is pathetic. As if it's something to strive towards...being toxic. It was funny at first...this idea that players felt a strange sense of pseudo self pride just for pissing someone off.

Perhaps I'm projecting a bit too much...perhaps people do actually get angry at other players. With my perspective, it's an absolute absurdity.

It's funny though....although the right side is suppose to demonstrate how color blind people see things.

Top left looks the same to me on both sides.

Top right has some change, but still can't make it out.

Left middle looks exactly the same.

Right middle looks better to me.

Both on the bottom row look exactly the same.

  • Just my 10 cents...

With the exception of a handful of maps, I've seen some changes to auras lately. BBQ and chili, Nurses calling, hell, even gen auras stand out a bit better.

For me, it's just a matter of the sticks and blood trails.

Funny though, I read through the post, and kept thinking, "So it's not just me". I completely avoided Trapper because I couldn't find the damn traps. So I could really relate about only finding them when an indicator popped up. Same thing for the totems. I used to run that one perks that tells you when your totems are being destroyed just to find them.

I easily give credit where it's due, I can SEE some changes....let's just go that extra yard please. I mean if everyone else can already see blood and sticks...how much would it really harm to "turn it up" anyway?

The distance you kinda of have to play her and you will get a feel for how far you will go. Now when I play her even if I use short or long range addons I still know how far I will go just from experience with the killer

A lot of people will try to juke you around walls . At higher ranks I usually blink to the corner first then use the second blink to hit them because they usually wait at the corner waiting for you to blink through the wall. Honestly playing as you go will help you to play nurse. I usually use nurses calling -make your choice (if you are having trouble with her use ruin) shadowborne makes it easier to see in corn which is nurses weakness . Stridor is good on her also if you have a good headset. If you don’t wanna use ruin you can use devour hope and granted it doesn’t spawn in a killers face they don’t expect it.

if you have any specific questions I’d love to answer them :)

I won't use ruin...just stubborn I guess. Cookie cutter and all. Besides, at this point, I couldn't care less about winning. I don't even hook (which is kind of rare right now away) so DH is not a good option right now. I just want, chase, blink, chase, blink...LOL

I look like such a noob because sometimes I blink, and I go zooming right by the survivor for like 50 ft. Other times I try to blink through a wall (although I am better at short blinks), and I just get stuck on it, never making it through completely.

You are right about the cut off though. Nurse changes the "mind games" all together. I loved my Doc, but I was a gen jockey. With Nurse, I end up playing the survivors more than the gens. I have to unlearn my typical lunge attack, I'm losing a lot of time there.

Specifically though, without altering add ons, are there good perks for chasing? I'll worry about downing and hooking later. Right now I just need consistency. More than anything, I want to be able to control the Nurse to do what I expect to happen. Right now, I'm doing what I think is best, and find myself laughing my ass off at the results 50% of the time.

I appreciate the suggestions, all are welcome. Having a blast actually, it's quite challenging. Kind of funny when I go against try hards that think I'm raging. Most have been supportive though, and can easily see, I'm baby Nurse.

  • @Spirez said:

If you didn’t know yet, if you aim high you blink as far as possible. The lower you aim the closer you’ll blink. If you charge it all the way and aim low you’ll only blink to where you were looking at(the floor).

There is an addon that shows where you’ll end up blinking. You could practice with that to get a feel. It is a purple addon though.

So far I've had a lot of fun with this.

Survivor on one side of the pallet, I charge up blink, they see it...I release the blink but point it at the ground, they jump the pallet...so I just kind of hoover in the air a bit, come back down right where I was, and bam, get the hit.

    Thanks for the advice.

  • @Trash_Panda said:

The first blink is longer then the blinks after that .so your second third fourth ex will be shorter then the first blink . But playing her without addons and getting used to her with two blinks is your best bet

Thank you. I had heard this before and am currently running without any add ons to get used to the base distance and speed.

I'm kind of worried though that this will mess with me later on. I did this with Billy, got the chain sprint burst down, threw on some add ons and I was all over the place.

  • Ehhh, it's a forum, so here my 10 cents

Just because killer was harder in a previous iteration if the game doesn't mean it is easy now. It's great that you're skilled, but acting like SWF isn't a huge balance problem for most killers now because the game used to be more difficult is disingenuous.

I don't think anyone is arguing that SWF isn't harder. What I'm saying is that it's not impossible. Of course communication within the survivors makes it more difficult. However, who plays at rank 20 the same at rank 5?

Don't see yourself short. The more you see SWF groups, the better you can adapt to "advanced strategies".

Most of us aren't here for a "pep talk" which is why most of the time people just say "git gud" meant as an insult, or at the very least it sound as such.

As a killer main, I don't even bother with Lightborn until rank 5...then I get there, and I have to adjust. Stick with it. Or, if it's just not fun, don't force it...play Civilization or something for a couple weeks.

  • Have fun playing Civilization!

Good to know people are still willing to listen and open to different perspectives. Faith in humanity restored.

No. Keep doing it, as if it has any consequence.

  • I'm still simply amazed at how many people consider this game to be competitive. It's not, it never will be. 3K and complaining...when the servers do actually work, enjoy the match and get a new one.

  • i can understand the whole throwing axe thing. But it’s bs that that’s all she has to do.

Have you tried playing AS the Huntress. Do it....her weaknesses will be exposed. You encountered a good Huntress. You can dodge all day against a bad Huntress.

  • Out of interest, i was wondering when the dev team think would be a good time to start buffing killers? not a hate post, just genuinely curious.

@FSB75 I can comprehend quite well...what exactly is the point of your post?

There would be no "gen rushing" in the example video you gave if you played better :/ It would have been a short game in YOUR favour.

I'm trying to not be mean or anything, really...explain to me what you want to achieve out of posting this

I'd rather you explain to me how to prevent 5 minutes and 17 seconds for 5 generators. Camp? Tunnel? It takes 2 minutes, full hook duration.

Are you seriously suggesting that you could easily down and hook one survivor every 1 minutes 30 seconds? That's what you are saying? Because that would be the average time....and that's provided that they never get rescued.

1 minute 30 seconds for each survivor...say it, please say that.

  • @skvirl said:
You broke chase SO many times to kick gens. At one point one of the survivors was just standing in plain sight right in front of you, but you ignored him to kick the gen instead of chasing him. You wasted time kicking a gen that was barely started on. You're a Billy, who can use his chainsaw to get around the map really quickly and down people really quickly, which means you don't need to kick gens all the time like you did. You wasted so much time in doing this. I'm sorry, but I agree with the previous comment saying this not the state of the game. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just commenting on what I see here.

I did indeed break chase a couple times. The idea is to slow gen progression. Why ignore the fact that despite my efforts to slow gameplay, 5 gens were repaired by roughly 3 survivors at a time within 6 minutes? 4 gens, 3 survivors, 6 minutes....that seems fine to you?

My playstyle is open to criticism, it's what happens whenever a person offers something to the public. However, that subjective content aside....the fact still remains that despite efforts to slow the game, how fast do you think it would have been if I had simply tunneled or camped?

Allow me to break it down for you:

    1 minute 55 seconds for 1st gen
    2 minutes 33 seconds 2nd gen (38 seconds from 1st gen)
    2 minutes 42 seconds 3rd gen (9 seconds from 2nd gen)
    4 minutes 34 seconds for 4th gen (1 minute 52 seconds from 3rd gen)
    5 minutes 17 seconds for 5th gen (43 seconds from 4th gen)

Again, as you pointed out, these times were with a killer focused heavily on slowing the game down using gen kicks and Overcharge 3. So while your "feedback" about my gameplay is distractive at best, I would argue that tunneling or camping would have produced even shorter times.

5 generators in 5 minutes 17 seconds.....and that sound reasonable? I'm not asking if it's normal. I'm not asking does it happen all the time (I know it does). I'm pointing out that I think this is a balance issue, hence why I offered it here, in the "balance feedback". You have to remember, these times also reflect the fact that this was accomplished by 3 survivors at some points and I was in an active chase, or had a survivor hooked.

I'm not here to speak for the elite. I'm not here to speak for the Twitchers and Youtubers. I'm here for the average, run of the mill players.

5 minutes and 17 seconds to catch and hook 4 survivors? That's reasonable for an average player? Honestly?

Lastly....these are NOT depreciating numbers. There is no reason to be glib about the whole thing. Removing survivors would be the best way to slow the game down or control the tempo...but you will never convince me that it's possible for a killer to camp a survivor, down and hook another, while gen kicking. We all know what would happen....because it does, in this video.

  • @only1biggs said:

Dude, no developer will look at this and take it seriously. Trust me.

I'm leaving this here for reference. I feel it is significant because I am an average gamer.

First you tell me how horrible I am at the game. No worries, not out to impress anyone. This video isn't a "look at me" cry for validation or attention. I quite clearly state I'm "average". You would say horrible...so be it.

    This was embarrassing :/

Thank you for your input....as soon as you gain developer status, I'll give it consideration.

  • @Brady said:

You didn't explain to me why you would camp with 5 gens left.

You just told me how that doesn't happen.....................................

Okay....fair enough. If there are still 5 gens left when I hook someone....do the math. I can camp this survivor for the entirety, and unless the survivors came prepared, they will still have 2 - 3 gens left. That, to a killer is a fair trade off, as opposed to the time it might otherwise take to track the survivor down again, get 2 more hits, and re-hook.

Being conservative....each survivor hook takes 2 - 4 minutes to down and hook. Twice is 6 - 8 minutes.

With all 4 survivors working a gen, not counting travel time to the next one, it's roughly 30 seconds to complete an entire generator.

From this: Each attempt has a 4% chance to succeed and will cost 16.666% (or 20 seconds) of the remaining Health Bar.

We can see that 16.666 health equals 20 seconds. As such, there are 6 16.666 in 100 health. At 20 seconds each, a first hook survivors takes 2 minutes to camp.

So where does that leave us? The fastest possible time to complete a gen (without addons or perks), with all 4 survivors working the same gen is 30 seconds. A single survivor under the same conditions will take 80 seconds, again no travel time.

Survivors take 2 minutes on the hook.

An unhooked survivor may never be caught again.

I'll camp the first one with 5 gens, take my chances on how many gens get repaired, and have one less survivor you help with whatever is left.

Now, if you have read this far, you've earned a killer secret. The current emblem system pretty much mandates that survivors unhook a survivor. As such, hook a survivor and they come to the killer at ranks below 8. So what you may consider camping, is just me chasing all your friends away....HOPING they actually get you off the hook, but super close that I ca just one shot you and rehook you (sandbagging).

    Any questions?

  • @Brady said:
There's times when I go "He should camp me..." and its because I ran him on a 4 minute chase with a flashlight to every pallet break, with multiple 360s and just generally being a pain in the ass to catch.

and if that's the case, I so encourage it. [BAD WORD] those people.

But if it's the first hook with 5 gens, I just don't understand. I don't. Someone explain how this lazy tactic is fun. I want to know what's enjoyable with just standing there doing fuckall :p

I really really miss those days. I'm only rank 6 now....but 1st hook with 5 gens? HA-LARIOUS! Hasn't happened in a very very long time. Billy, Doc, Tums, and Bunny Mom.....tried them all. Lucky to get 1 hook with 2 - 3 gens left. Players rarely make a mistake. I've been considering making a video where I just find a corner with insidious to hide, and just watch NOT ONLY how fast it goes, but how few mistakes are made.

Usually I find a survivor and it's tunnel time. Like I'm gonna stop chasing the one survivor I actually found for one with a fresh SB and DH cooldown. So it goes, the chase begins...three times loop, pallet drop, Bloodlust lost, and off to the next pallet. I've tried pulling off and chasing someone else, but even when they are not in SWF, they all know the deal. They take no chances and make no mistakes.....I can't emphasize that enough. I've been in trials where I didn't even see a survivor until it was down to 2 gens. As in, did NOT see them! Worst part about it....on my way to rank 6, through ranks 15 - 10...with BBQ&C I easily got 60K per match.....now that the rounds are so fast, even WITH this Double BPs event, I'm lucky to get 60k or 70k.....the rounds just go so damn fast. 5 - 7 minutes and they are fighting over who gets the hatch. I picked the wrong time to rank up, I can tell you that much.

    1st hook and 5 gens left....no chance.

  • @Tiyr said:
Congrats on the double rank dude

  • The term "tunneling" should be replaced with "Duh".

I'm a killer, I just hooked a survivor. I get no more than 15m away when the game notifies me that the player I just hooked has been rescued from the hook. I turn, here are the choices I see....full health survivor I've never hooked OR an injured, already been hooked survivor. What should I choose? ** DUH!**

I'm a killer patrolling gens and game notifications, I have no hooks, and 2 gens are complete. I've been chasing a few survivors and broken about 6 pallets. Finally I spot a survivor hiding behind a tree. I start chasing.....with pallets removed, I'm able to get a hit on the survivor. It now only takes one more hit to down them. BAM, another gen is repaired. Another survivor comes up from my right side, completely healthy and using a flashlight to get my attention. Here are my choices. Continue to chase the survivor that's already been hit and cost me about 3 minutes of time and 2 gens.....orrrrrrr turn and engage a new target that requires 2 hits and obviously wants to distract me. What should I choose? ** DUH!**

Two things to take away from the issue of "tunneling". It doesn't exist. It's a term survivors use in a pathetic attempt to shame or guilt a killer into a gameplay style that benefits them. Second point, all most killer want to do (especially those that care about rank) is get 2 deaths on hook so they can feel like they have done well enough to relax and actually enjoy what's left of the game.

  • Outstanding. As a member of the PC community, it's great to hear that our brothers and sisters with PS4s are now on the same page. Hopefully the Devs will know what to expect in the future with regard to large patches (DLC) and how to approach them.

  • I've tried for 2 years to be polite, using logic, using supportive statements to back up my declarative statements....not today. Not really in a mood, but doing the same thing over and over again....well, you know what that is....so here it goes:

Okay all you special little snowflakes.....camping has always been a part of the game, and it will always be a part of the game.

THERE IS NOTHING THAT NEEDS DONE ABOUT CAMPING.....EVER, END OF ######### STORY

People come to these forums at least 4 or 5 times a week, all claiming to have the "answer" to camping. Problem is this, no one asked a damn question. We don't need your "answers", we don't need "suggestions" about camping. MAYBE, just MAYBE if camping was something new, introduced about a year after the games release, it was based on some change, or it wasn't a DEV SUPPORTED STRATEGY....you might have something useful to say. However, seeing as how NONE of these fit into the idea that camping needs fixed in the first place....then continuing to talk about it like it's an issue will not make it ######### so. It's a non-factor, a non-issue, a waste of time.

Now....I understand that I don't have to read the complete bile of post complaining about camping. I get that...and yes, I'm here bitching about people bitching....but it's been 2 YEARS!!!!! Like, one day my kid couldn't even walk....and DBD was released....now 2 years later, my kid can run like the wind and people are still talking about this like it's an issue and it makes them important. Ohhhh Ahhhhh, camping, OH NOES?! What do we do????

I'll tell you what you do, take a little bit of responsibility. If you got all jacked up, hooked, and killed, because you decided that you weren't going to let the big mean killer stop your efforts at becoming a hero for a MICRO-SECOND to some strange you never met on a P2P connection....tough #########. Try being a hero to your remaining 2 survivors and work a damn gen for longer than the time it takes to microwave ramen noodles. Just try it some time. The very next time some random survivor gets hooked because they want to test out the flashlight like Ochido and gets hooked 45 seconds into the round....tell yourself, "Damn, sucks to be you. Pass the wrench". MAYBE if you had just a shred of personal accountability for your actions in game, you wouldn't have the nerve to act completely surprised because you and everyone else in the match decided that the killer had free methadone in his pocket, and damned if your not willing to do a lot for just one more fix. I swear...I've seen it, over and over and over again. One player gets hooked, and it's like someone rang the dinner bell at fat kids camp!

Or maybe you got camped.....maybe this was your time to pay for the team. I'll let you in on a little secret....just ######### on hook if your feeling like a real douchebag....or hang tight and KNOW that a new match is just 5 minutes away. See, it's not a very big deal. You got camped...accept it, embrace it, learn from it, move on.

Look....it's super simple ######### here folks. If the killer is camping your friend...that's their purpose! Time! Every hook is time. Time for others to escape....I'm sorry the emblem system has made this behavior mandatory....but maybe finish that gen first, then be the hero.

If the killer is camping a fellow survivor you have 2 choices. Attempt a save, or do something else. What you DO NOT get to do is make your choice, it's goes wrong, than come here and complain constantly that something is wrong with the game. Well buck up little camper...I got you a mirror, MAYBE, just maybe they didn't tell you this when you got your participation trophy for 3rd grade kickball when your team came in 8th place...it's not the game....it's your playstyle!!!!

  • 2 things:

    1) Pro tip.....change the speed to 2x and save more of your life.
    2) Hag is NOT hard to learn. I actually started playing her at lvl 1 rank 12....I stopped because it felt unfair. Survivors will disarm traps, side step Billy and hatchets...but they rarely do anything to avoid Hag traps. It's strange.

15k is a low'ish amount of BP for a Killer to earn. Consider 20k BP, which is roughly my average playing Killer.

    20k for match
    20k for Pudding/Streamers
    20k for 2x BP Event

60k right there. Then you add another 20k for each Streamer burned by the Survivors. 25k = 75k. Each scoring boost is based on your Match Score and then added to the total. If you're getting a regular 25-30k BP every match, you will have a massive amount of BP in little time.

15K is low. As a killer I usually average around 45K - 60K. I used it because it's an easy number to work with....but not so unrealistically low like 1,000.

  • Camping is just a sign that the game is in pretty good balance.

As a gaming strategy, camping says ONE thing: I don't trust myself as a Killer to catch anyone else this round.

Sounds strange I admit. But think about it. Killer would never camp if catching all survivors was 100% guaranteed. They would just move on to the next survivor, knowing they will eventually get everyone. And even if it's NOT true, they would do so if that was their attitude.

So yeah, people may camp for personal reasons, like teabagging, or looping.

Here's a truth, for killer that care about rank....they just want to at least get 2 kills out of the way, so they can sit back and actually enjoy the rest of the match.

Some killers just find enjoyment out of the fact that survivors take is personal. I'd be willing to bet, that the day there is not another word said about camping, the amount of camping would decrease dramatically.

The game is balanced, and camping proves this. If killers were OP, there would be no need to camp, ever.
