Are people just stupid, or am i missing something?
I'd like to consider myself reasonable.
Would I like a dev to actually comment to confirm or deny...absolutely. That would be THE best possible outcome.
Then again, I once had a Community Manager swear that CoD:MW2 would have public server files like all previous games just 3 months before release and the game ended up being P2P. As if that's a decision made, executed, and released within 3 months. Has that,, and many other experiences, made be a bit jaded? Perhaps.
Nonetheless, I do my best to approach a new set of Devs working on a new game I'm playing with a sense of optimism. Truth be told, this game doesn't have a many "detectable" cheaters. As such, the ability to report them falls into a low priority for me....that's a personal choice, neither right or wrong.
The old system WAS sketchy, at best. I'm ignorant to how much interaction you had with it, but for me, there was little confirmation the report or evidence was received.
My biggest issue right now is the game locking up about every 3rd trial. If the game would just keep playing, I wouldn't be here checking the forums in between restarting the game.

I try to catch as much information about times and dates for this type of communication. However, it seems really sporadic. I have as many notifications turned on as I can think of. Twitch, YT, Twitter. I trust you, and you say they specifically mentioned a cheating report system overall....good enough for me.
Would be nice though if they had a forum employee (not a mod, and actual employee, on the payroll) to go over or highlight (not everything) some of these items and pin them. Now that the game has an official forum....this is where I'm going to get 80% of all information.

Again, “they are overhauling it” isnt a valid excuse for removing a functioning report system and leaving the community without one for months.I might disagree with you. The system they had took a very long time to upload a mere 1 minute video. Although straight forward, it still wasn't very intuitive. It was more "faith based" that your ticket and video were actually sent properly.
I'm more than willing to exercise patience for a more efficient means to report cheaters.
I'm more concerned with how the mods here, and the devs react to these questions. At no other point in gaming have gamers been ale to provide as much detail when experiencing a cheater than we now have. With video capture tech a common place option, players no longer have mere screenshots, and story, and trust to report a cheater.
-
I dislike the "naming and shaming" policy for evidence as obvious as this. Cheaters rely on the apathy of those they cheat against. Keep the video, and keep looking for a way to have it reviewed by those who, if any, are in power to keep the community cheat free.

if you think my post is shity , then why you watched the video XDI don't make baseless accusations. I don't speak of things I have no knowledge. I don't make knee jerk reactions. I watched it and saw it for what it was: "Look at me" spam with a pinch of pointless survivor harassment at the end. It's even in the title: "WANNA HAVE A TASTE OF REAL MYERS ?". This will be my last response to this thread in the hopes that it dies, and quickly. To this point I've been completely respectful, even going so far as to justify my opinion with supportive statements, when indeed there was no need. With each reply, I only keep this thread on the front page, to which it does not deserve. Happy killing and harassing.

Gave you the vote up just because there's no hard feelings and I take the high road.
Man, love the challenge though. Again.....it's all about gen placement. My Dr. build allows for plenty of survivor escapes.....but, honestly, usually no more than 2 at a time. LOL

This is the killer part of the forums which means we can discuss about things on the killer side and I'm asking the killers their opinion about real myers " double ultra "
And of course the word TOXIC doesn't mean that I'm toxic , you just think of it in a bad way .
In fact these ad ones are toxic just like DS and the fact that when some1 uses it on you , you will not be so happy about it .
I didn't said I'm good because I'm toxic , seriously dude XD .I'm saying the conversation could have taken place without your "look at me" video. Do you not acknowledge the unintended consequences of your promotional video prompting others to do the same and thus flooding the forums with video after video?
The mods and devs are obviously cool with videos being used on the forums as the are allowed and even embedded. I, personally, feel that your video is disingenuous. How do killers feel about 2 perks that work well together? What constructive conversation or opposition were you expected? Look, it is just a forum, I get that...I'm just giving my opinion about your shameless plug here in an effort to prevent further plugs from other players. Right now we are just talking about one video, your video. I've seen this type of thing before, and if you can imagine the entire front page of the killer forums filled with video threads all asking "What do you think about blah blah blah", it forces real conversations about killer to compete for attention.
It's just my opinion, I'm voicing it, as I'm allowed to do.
As for toxicity....we can just ignore @11:30 to the end of your video. finger guns

Doctor is midtier honestly. He's good, but at high rank you really see his shortcomings against good survivors. You can definitely be successful at high rank as Doctor, just like you can with Wraith.
The odds are just stacked against you. Doctor is really good with the right addons and perks, but imo that's also what makes him midtier. Without perks or addons he's completely garbage, whereas Hillbilly can still dominate.
I like Doctor though and he's one of my mains. I enjoy playing as him and it makes it reasonably more challenging. Doctor is weird because he can either be weak as hell or OP as ######### depending on his build.
That's also the thing, tier lists try to be as objective as possible. In fighting games you take every character and pit them 10 matches against every other character, and the characters that happen to win more often are higher on tier lists. But perhaps you know a trick no one else does that can put you higher on that tier list.
At the end of the day, tiers are a recommendation. Play who you want and who you are good with regardless of their position on a tier list.
Here comes the forum suicide post:
On my Dr. I play gens, not survivors., for that, I'm hated. It's not intentional, it's just MY play style. Trials can last, and usually do, over 30 minutes. Unless the gens are in a football field (which does happen), it's almost a guaranteed 3 kill. Preying on the lack of survivor patience, often times, survivors come to me, just to kill them, just to end it all. Only I know I'm being honest, but it is not my intention to frustrate survivors to that point, for the sake of itself. At the end of the trail, myself and all survivors have well over 20K BP, typically a 3 or 4 Iridescent emblems. I STILL don't understand why survivors get angry (when they do) ending with 20+k BP.
I'm THAT killer. My start is, unfortunately, too dependent on the RNG for gen placement (as my Son pointed out to me).....but, the fact that Shock Therapy negates all obstacles, madness prevents all actions, illusions give away positions, and perks work against progress....with the right gen placement, there is no hope for survivors.
High Stimulus Electrode - increased range of ST. Goes through walls, pallets, and obstacles on the map.
Iridescent King - Multitude of effects making gen repair distressing.Distressing - Increases terror radius
Unnerving Presence - 10% increase skill check
Overcharge - 5% gen regression for failed first time skill checks (Madness II makes this fun)
Lightborn - At higher ranks, if I do decide to hook, survivors are really good with flashlights.Mobility enjoyed by Billy and the Nurse is nice...unless you don't need it because the survivors are rarely out of reach. With my build, survivors are forced to come to me. I've watched 3 (and even 4) piston gens get reduced to nothing because survivors don't understand that with overcharge, 3 survivors working on a gen only increased the odds of an "overcharged" skill check dding to the regression rate.
To me, it's a lot of fun. Typical patterns emerge though. First all survivors attempt to rush one gen, then they attempt to split between either 2 or 3 gens, then they start offering up a survivor for me to hook (which I don't. I just slug, can't spare the time)....I mean, honestly, this post is about the worst thing I could do right now. It's not like I want to call attention to situations where survivors are completely helpless. Bottom line, it changes the entire game. Rather than being a hapless killer, waiting on survivors to make a mistake....it is the killer that has to be perfect. If I chase a survivor too far, if I forget to kick a gen, if I'm not in range to interrupt with Shock Therapy.....any mistake on my part is success for survivors, with NO back up like NED.
This is why I pick the Dr. for #1. With the right gen placement, survivors don't have a chance.

So how many of you can't help but hang around a door and t-bag as a survivor and wait for the killer, yet when you play as killer it is just a chore of the game to have to chase the survivors out because they destroyed you in a game 😂 This happens to me at least once a week and it's just like a circle of karma I swear. So who all else has this in their plain of the entity's reality?IF I play a survivor, I just leave. As a Killer, yes I've had to "show myself" or "make an appearance" to expedite survivors leaving. I don't tbag, doesn't award points, and my ego is healthy enough that I don't need that last little bit of insignificant "in your face".

If someone would be so kind as to explain what the "tier system" is measuring here. Skill curve (hard, or easy), effectiveness, preference....what's going on?Thank you in advance to any and all who can shed some light on it for me.
Effectiveness. Pretty much every tier list shows how good a character is.
Tiers are not the end all be all for games, as people have won tournaments with low tier characters. It's just that high tier characters have lots of advantages whereas lowtier ones have a lot of disadvantages.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Just to confirm then....it's a "respect" list of sorts? As if to say being an awesome Nurse or Hillbilly is more respectable than say, the Dr. Because anyone can use the Dr. But the Nurse takes more skill?
Not trying to be difficult, just trying to gain a full understanding. When the game first came out, it only had 3 killers. Trapper, Hillbilly and Wraith. I chose Hillbilly not knowing he would later get the "hard" rating on difficulty. Never really tried Nurse because I thought it was more difficult than an already experienced Billy. I might have to go back and try to level her.

If they had brought in toolboxes/BNP then sure, but they did not. 1 guy had a medkit (he was solo) and the other 3 brought in flashlights (Obvious 3 man SWF given their names)
Then I would say they simply worked the gens despite the progress reduction. Hex: Ruin in no way prevents players from repairing gens. A skill check is required to prompt the 5% progress reduction. Seems to me, and I wasn't there, just trying to offer alternative suggestions, that even if each gen prompted 4 skill checks, at a worse case scenario, that's 100% increase is gen production required to power the gates. So, not impossible...but an increase in time that should have been discernible.
Bottom line.....it's not what you experienced that makes Hex: Ruin worthless, but I can see why it would be frustrating. I'm the type of person that I can "deal" with most anything.....not just in gaming, but in life....so long as I understand it. So I honestly get where you are coming from.
It was one game, game on....

Hexes are amazing and powerful....just very poorly executed in game.
In your particular case, it would appear as though you were "matched". Which is the purpose of balance. I'm completely speculating here....but with even a couple of survivors using a "band new part", I can see how Hex: Ruin could be countered (Again, part of the balance).
- Hex: Ruin: 5 % regression on the Generator and Great Skill Checks grant 0 % in progression.
- Brand New Part: Good Skill Checks grant 5% total Generator progression, Great Skill Checks grant 10% total Generator progression.
Balance achieved.

Not trying to be "that guy"....but I think you want to ask that HERE.

Okay, very sorry, but I have to vote down on this, and hope everyone else does the same. I'll give you my reasons though:
1) You posted this in the "Killers" section of the forums, and I can see why you made that mistake. However, this is a "discussion board", not a "promotion" board.
2) If we allow these type of post from jump, hundreds, if not thousands more, will follow and flood these forums with like content.
3) You are promoting "toxicity". This continued attitude about "trolling" other players, or playing in a manner which, while not against the rules, serves only to annoy and/or harass other players is NOT something I, and hopefully most, of the DBD community wants to promote.Personal note: I think it's great that you are a part of the DBD community, and the more exposure the game gets, the fuller the community will become. Again, I cannot support your effort to prove what a good player you are based solely on your ability to be "toxic". As a fellow board member has pointed out, the term "toxic" has been hijacked recently. IF you have done nothing outside the intended actions of the game, just because the results are less than desirable by survivors, that does not make them "toxic". If you had a great game within the bounds of intended game play, great. Make that video, go to sites that promote videos, and continue to provide awesome content. Please, just not here in the "Killer" sub-forum.

I believe it's meant to imply that it makes up for bad survivors. As in, they didn't do well....but still got double the BP.

So I was playing wraith for my daily ritual. He is LEVEL TWO and his only perk is distressing with no add ons. I killed all 4. Then a player I killed commented on my profile! It read:"A [BAD WORD] who cannot read. Maked me feel good"
I feel so proud! Ive gotten salty survivors before but rarely salty comments!
Proud? Really? Not because of the 4k, but because you made someone angry? I don't get it....why? Is this the new 21st century equivalent of "chest beating"? It's not enough to perform well and outsmart a gaming opponent, it's only validated when there is proof of emotion involved? Seems a little codependent doesn't it?
It's like....you got the 4k win....nice. It's was only after the other player was frustrated that the game went from "nice" to "awesome"?
I'm not joking, this is not judgement or criticism, I honestly want to understand how pissing someone else off made your win so much better. I mean to the point that you actually made a thread about it.
You made the declarative statement without supporting statements. "I feel so proud". Why?

How about a killer hatch....once 1 or 2 survivors are left, a killer only trap door appears in the basement and the killer can choose to end the game without penalty. There definitely needs to be a concede button I believe.
Maybe, but when they see killer clicking "Concede" butto, imagine how their egos get boosted, imagine the humiliation the killer will suffer from on his chat, comments on profile and invites to the friends from them.
Also, there are better ways to solve it.You're joking right? Please tell me you're joking.
Ego? Humiliation? In a damn video game? Has the gaming community devolved so far? Perhaps for another, much longer, conversation....but to stay on topic:
If after a point in time, when the gates are open, and I as the killer haven't seen a player wouldn't hesitate to "concede" a game just because I think a stranger finds any amount of humor in the fact that I quit. Even just saying it out loud it sounds crazy. The trial is over, the survivors won....there is NO point to the trial anymore other than to annoy the killer.
Quick side note because I'm not strong enough to NOT say it:
This isn't MLG, this isn't CAL...it's a P2P game between 5 stranger that don't even have voice chat. There is no money, there is no title, there is no award...how do people find pride or shame in a game that doesn't even offer voice chat? I MIGHT play with the same person more than once....but it's still just a stranger. Perhaps because I'm an older gamer (40+), but the idea that a players self esteem is so low they actually find some level of satisfaction by simply annoying another player is beyond my comprehension. I win some, I lose some...neither is of consequence to anything else in life. There is no connection. I have never rage quit, and no matter the outcome, it's ALWAYS, "Well played all" at the end.
Lastly....come to think about it, it is a bit comical to think about how many people actually overvalued their own sense of self worth as if they have annoyed me. I mean,t here are things in the game that do annoy me (body blocking)....but I wonder, do they think I'm on the other side of the game yelling at my monitor like "Angry German Kid" or "FPS Doug"?
Never mind, yes, I would use a concede option if a trial went over 3 or 4 minutes once the gates are open IF there were no penalty for the killer.

I have a blind cross map hatchet that hits a survivor in less than a second after being healed. It's the longest hatchet throw I've ever seen.

Killer doesn't really matter, but it's easiest on the Dr. due to reach of shock therapy through walls.
Since Hex totems are worthless: Distressing (to increase the terror radius), Unnerving Presence (to trigger extra chances for reduced skill check zones), Overcharged (to promote gen degradation), No One Escapes Death (for that last chance option).
I know I said Hex totems are worthless, but NED starts out dull and only activated after the gates power.
For my build, nothing makes me happier than to see 1 gen left and 2+ survivors working on it. As I've already kicked it, and if they are in my terror radius, the odds increase significantly that at lest one of the survivors will trigger an overcharged skill check and fail. Even more problematic if you consider I'm on the Doctor and they have a Madness II status.
It's as close to Huntress Lullaby and Hex Ruin as I can get without the exposure of active totems.
-
I've had the same problem since day one. I can barely see the scratches, and I didn't even have a clue there were blood trails until they released "The Game" map (for the Pig).
I used to think blood trails was just anther way to say "sticks". I've often thought that if the "red" is suppose to stick out, how cool would it be if I could change it to blue....something that might stick out as much for us as red does for most everyone else.
Sorry, no suggestions, I've just been toughing it out for the last year. You're not alone though. We number in the hundreds! lol
-
Hex totems and for the obvious reason stated. I lasted longer on prom night than these things do.
Perhaps it's just me, but map size. Yeah, sounds strange I know. I don't think they have changed, but recently, as in the last 2 weeks....it feels like I'm playing on football field. I counted 12 seconds between 2 of the closest gens. Gen placement just seems excessive on some maps.

Yeah, that's always going to get you some hate, so don't be surprised by it.
You are correct. It wasn't intentional, simply "RNG" for gen placement. I expected a little bit of hate, but seriously, "camping gens"? What am I suppose to do, wander away from the only thing preventing the survivors from leaving? I ended up with a 4k and everyone had 30K+ in blood points. Based on the results, a strong argument could be made that a slower play style is what the Devs intended.

No problem with sabo...it's working as intended. If I got to hook, and someone has it 99...if they can drop it, nice work.

Everyone knows, that SWF is not fair.I'm a killer....I disagree. SWF is nothing new. It's been in the game from the start. The game has enjoyed success for it's first year in spite of your alleged "imbalance". I don't deny it sounds a bit fun, but the game suffers in many other, more reasonable, areas at the moment. To add another killer would throw off what balance has been achieved.
