Worked like a charm. It's going to take some time to mess with the controls since it can only be adjusted while in game. I was hoping to use a screenshot or something to fine tune. Either way, I can see blood and scratches now!
-
@Runiver I know man....I was just hoping.

Confirmed, works perfect in WoW. DBD specific error. I HATE old drivers@

So, turns out I have everything I need....but perhaps the drivers are still off. I go to apply the overlay, and it tells me, "An error has occurred, please restart your game". Tried it 3 times...just won't let me use that feature.

Currently running 398.11.
Would you be so kind as to post a couple screenshots of gens and hooks from far away. Or perhaps scratches and blood. I know it's a lot to ask....but I'm not a big fan if running legacy drivers if I don't have to. I'm sure you know what I mean.
There are many types of color blindness, as, again, I'm sure you are aware. In the meantime...I'll check out "Freestyle" through Goog.

PIG PIG PIG
I don't care how "low rank" players say she is...every single time she gets at least one jump scare on me.
Michael IS creepy, but it depends on the player. If I'm fixing a gen, scanning around me to see the killer. Look to the left pan to right....nothing....keep working. Look to the left, pan to righ....HOLY #########!

It' going to take a while to see if any significant changes were made. Hex: Ruin is the most popular totem used, and even then, I only see it about every 4th trial.
I will say this...I've played 2 trials thus far wherein Hex: Ruin was NOT destroyed before all survivors were killed or escaped.
My single attempt at totems resulted in the typical "destroyed in 1 minute" with one survivor telling me at the end of the trial s/he spawned right next to it. Hex: Huntress Lullaby and Hex: Thrill of the Hunt were used.
My point is that most killer have been so turned away from Hex totems that they are rarely used, so despite the alleged changes, even if we do decide to give them another try, 2 or 3 experiences like mine, and they won't be tried again.

For just a moment of seriousness:
It's "reports" like this that the Devs took away a legitimate reporting process. I can't imagine sorting through hundreds, if not thousands of "reports" like these.

I'm still kicking my own ass for not predigesting my Hillbilly within the first 6 months. I've always considered a prestige game mechanic to be a lame attempt at re-playability.

Pretty much only 1 thing.Getting camped out as the first on hook with no gens done. I get it, strategy and snowball and whatnot.
Just dont get mad when I call your strategy and tactics trash.
As a killer main....actually this depends on how fast you were hooked at the start of the game.
Here's the mentality. If a killer hooks a player within the first...say 2 minutes of the game. The killer saves a TON of time by camping a player caught that early as opposed to the progress on gens that player might otherwise make if they are rescued as well as the time it takes to hook them 2 more times.
Sucks yes, but weight the 2 and it's easy to see which is the fastest overall.

MLGA? MLGA!? M ######### LGA?
Who in the WORLD takes this game that serious? Before the game displayed the ping to players it made some sense. Now that pings are displayed...who the hell uses it?

My biggest gripe as survivor is other survivors.I don't mind the killer but when some idiot Pizza Dwight ragequits in the first 30 seconds because he got caught, or Invisible Claudette farms me when the killer is 6ft away, what's the point of even playing?
I saw a video that touched on something like this. I really want a "get the F away from me you idiot, I'm already struggling and if you unhook me, the killer is going to tunnel me and 3rd hook me" perk.
As a killer, I love nothing more when survivors go all SNAFU and get FUBAR. You can tell right away....as soon as I see that flashlight flicker, I say, "Ahhhh, get one hooked, and they all come running in". They forget about the gens, it's all about the saves.
-
The survivor recording is playing meta perks at rank 17and the clown in question is playing bad add-ons and all perks hes using are at level 1 at rank 17. But sure, use this as proof that the clown sucks.
-
I damn sure don't like the head start system that they are considering.
So....let's assume neither the Killer nor the last survivor knows where the hatch is located. Once the 3rd survivor is killed, the last survivor is simply going to head for a gate and wait. If they so happen to see the gate on the way there, so be it....but once the killer finds the hatch and closes it, the gates get powered. Now the killer has a 50/50 chance of picking the correct gate.
The real problem is the hatch standoff...the fact that survivors cannot occupy the same space as the killer. This results in a lot of time for the same result.....survivors escape. Even if survivors are in the injured state, and the killer hits them to put them int he dying state, they are usually close enough to still escape. I guess I SHOULD be happy with a 50/50 as opposed to a time wasting escape....it just feels like a bunch of cheese. I mean I guess it makes sense to power the gates....no....I like the gate closed generator repair speed boost idea better.
When the hatch is closed, it's closed.....increase repair speed by 100%....call it "panic", I don't really care. The last survivor needs to do one last gen.

Okay, so I've been working a lot of hours now (*edit So I'm having a tough time remembering), and in the time it takes me to type this question....the wonderful and friendly, all knowing DBD community will help me out:
Shards are NOT resetting....got it.
Shards can be used in 2.0 to purchase cosmetics.
The Shrine will be brought down for an unknown time during/after the patch.Questions:
Will the Shrine return, and if so, will it still be used to purchase teachable perks (but at a much higher rate, with no bank limit, as before)?
A such, buying a teachable perk NOW is like buying it "on sale"?

I don't think there is such a thing as a multiplayer horror game.
When I think of horror games, I think "Silent Hill", "Resident Evil". It's the mood that sets the real tone for a game...and that mood is hard to take serious when players always seem to have leg spasms every time crouch is an option.
-
It's part of the game. As a killer you have choices, options...just because you lack the self control needed to ignore the bait in front of you doesn't mean the game needs changed.

A one hit down, while a survivor is being carried and any variation of that is an awful idea.If survivors are body blocking a hook, drop the one you're carrying and hit them. It's an option that is perfectly viable but is yet to be mentioned. Don't waste time trying to hook them if you're being bodyblocked, unless it's literally just one. Hit them. In most situations one person body blocking is really good for you, as you hook the one you're carrying and suddenly, another survivor is occupied with healing or running from you, without the benefit of being able to take an additional hit. Even if that survivor is saved you have a new one to hook. It's a good strategy if executed properly and provided the survivor gets off the killers shoulders.
Sure, let me just drop this survivor so I can give other survivors another chance to blind me with a flashlight. Or perhaps someone has an instant heal. Dropping a survivor when you have already put the work in to put them in the dying state just because you can't hook them is ridiculous.
Personally, I think the killer should be shown the "wiggle meter". I'm fairly confident a killer would be aware if they are losing grip.

Your own personal sense of justice?
As a killer, I openly criticize players that believe the killer should be a "powerhouse"....controlling the game. I don't think it's possible to achieve balance while either side (killer or survivor) maintains an edge.
For me, it's a sense of immersion. When 1,2, or as many as 3 survivors come running up to a killer within the first minute of the game, it's obvious that there is no fear or sense of urgency on the survivors part. It's simply not the game I want to play. Now, that's fine, the game wasn't meant for me individually. Perhaps it's even a sense of taking SOME control. If I can't control the fact that players are not afraid of being caught, and to add insult to injury I can't even control hooking a survivor I rightfully caught, I'm going to control something.
Personally....and I'm well aware this isn't popular, I'd like to see an all or nothing BP system. Increase BPs awarded by, I don't care, 500%....die and get nothing.

In most games I play (I almost always play as killer) one or two survivors block the hook by crouching in front of it. Did the devs intetionally make that a viable option? It’s so cheap and infuriating (especially when I don’t run iron grasp).there is a achievement doing this 250 times
There is an achievement for "distraction". Unfortunately the game cannot discern between running around in front of the killer and crouching under the hook preventing a hook.

Although I do use map control killers, (doc/billy) I think that face camping is a super bad choice as it throws the game, sometimes at exit gates it helps, but doing it for such a small thing is even worse. If you do face camp, be proud, own up to it, that binary example seems like a cop out
It's not about winning....it's about sending a message.
The binary example is not an excuse. Think of it as MAD....you know, the old, you don't do this, I won't do that.
99% If Killers will not face camp just because of body blocking, or at all. The only messaging your sending, even if not your intention, is that you get disturbed easy
I'm fine with that....

I'll look for it, my apologies.
How do I do that acceptable answer thing so this thread can die?
-
Forget the symbol for "stay put"....I want a perk that prevents BP greedy survivors from unhooking me when the killer is still within my terror radius.
It's complete BS...I don't want off the hook. Why? Because I'm a killer main and I know if the killer doesn't at least get a hit on the rescuer, I'm going to be, 98% of the time tunneled. It just makes sense to go after the injured survivors for a second hook. Hell, most times even if the killer injures the rescuer, again, I'm getting my second or third hook.
It's hilarious if you think about it. With all 4 survivors left, it's a huge rush to rescue a survivor. At 3 survivors left....ehhh, they may get to you. But when it's down to 2 survivors....you're on your own because you are the key to the trap door lock.
-
My solution is simple:
When survivors attempt to body block me from hooking, I go instantly into face camp mode.
Think of it like binary:
By default, my face camping is set to 0. Body blocking switches it to 1.
While both face camping AND body blocking are legitimate to use in game, it is up to the survivors to "cross that line".
Let's be clear here...I'm not talking only about successful body blocking, wherein the survivor gets away. I mean ANY attempt to prevent my progress to the hook. As such, the player I'm attempting to hook may not have done anything to bring the upcoming face camp on themselves...but they will endure the burden of being face camped. I will forego all other players and all efforts to prevent them from leaving until the player on the hook is dead. If I should so happen to hook another survivor from the same trial, it's the same thing.

Looks over at the bartender and say, "Ehh, I don't care".

I don't mind getting outplayed, half the fun of this game is adapting to your opponents. But the Killer simply cannot compete with the amount of Survivor crutches. Why is it that the Survivors get so many crutches, but the Killers don't? If the Killers are in the power role, shouldn't they have more crutches? The Survivors should be the ones that constantly have to work their butts off to pick up the win, not the Killer.
I truly appreciate your taking the time to respond and in such detail.
There's so many points in your response that I wanted to respond to....but I found your closing comments to be the most striking.
Based on your overall attitude about the game, and when I say attitude, I don't mean in a sense of good or bad...perhaps....perspective is a better word; I don't think you are going to find much satisfaction.
"If the Killers are in the power role, shouldn't they have more crutches? "
I don't believe the killer were ever meant o be in a "power role". I think this is flawed logic wherein the idea of balance comes into play.
Allow me to explain. I have experienced everything you mentioned above. the window juking, the pallet looping, the perks, the chases....all of it. No, that doesn't happen to me anymore. I don't chase, and I only hook when optimal.
I completely understand your frustration. It's the start of the trial...wait for it (30 seconds), here comes one, two, or even sometimes as many as three survivors running up to me.....flashlights clicking, all tea bagging away. I completely ignore them. As of right now....the current state of the game, I have 2 play styles, and I have NO control over which one it will be from trial to trial.
I find 3 gens that are within close proximity to one another (no more than a 7 second walk), and I never stop patrolling and kicking gens (there was a time where killer couldn't kick gens). Survivors come running in...I don't chase, I don't care.

The game, I'll concede, has been reduced to me kicking gens with overcharge, and slugging players over and over again. A trial may last well over 30 minutes this way, but everyone gets a ton of points, I usually wear down the survivors to walk away with 2 kills (ranks 10 - 5....I've never broken rank 5 myself).
The point I'm trying to make is that I, as the Killer completely control the game. None of the perks matter, none of the equipment matters....because I, as the killer, choose not to bring them into play.
What good is sprint burst if your not being chased? What good are pallets if your not being looped? What good is a flashlight if the killer isn't hooking? What good is DS if the killer isn't carrying survivors?
Most survivors absolutely HATE this type of game play, but it's hard to argue with the results. I tell you, with great honesty, that 4Ks are very common (rank 8 -12) on Bunny Mom, Billy, and Doc. The range and mobility makes this type of strat pretty easy to execute.
My friend...I don't have a personal interest to see you continue to play this game. If you're not having fun, I agree with you completely....stop playing. I've changed my play style at least 4 or 5 times based on the changes made to the game. Adapt or die. I won't say that I have amazing fun with every trial....but there are those that stick out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j60Ufn2K1Y Start at the 1:40 markIt's moments like these that keep me, personally, playing. I do think you have a problem with the game at a fundamental level, which makes enjoyment difficult. I see it, I understand it. The killer will NEVER be in a power role....it's simply contrary to the essence of balance.

What the developers have done to Killer is just ridiculous. You feel incredibly powerless unless you play Nurse or Hillbilly, and I refuse to play the same two Killers over and over just to feel like I'm doing something. Survivor is boring to play, it's simply too easy to play as Survivor. I don't want to play Survivor, I want to play Killer. I want to play Killer and be satisfied. I post this here in hopes a developer sees this, or at least get a response from one of them.I don't want to play DBD anymore. I played Survivor for a while, but that got boring, and Killer is the only entertaining part of this game. But they have ruined it, and the community's pleas for any sort of balance IN FAVOR of the Killer has either been given a half-assed fix, or is ignored. I don't hate this game, I just hate the direction it's been going in for a while. And it doesn't seem like it's going to get any better.
Even the new DLC doesn't seem to be bringing anything that will make playing Killer more satisfying and fun. No matter how hard you try, unless you try-hard as heck and bring in top-tier perks/add-ons, you will not have fun because the Killers are so weak and playing Survivor is a cakewalk. Again, I don't hate this game, I want to see them bring changes that will actually make Killer fun. But until that day comes, if it ever does, I'm not going to keep playing this game. I will not buy anymore of the DLC. Hopefully in the future I can come back and actually enjoy playing Killer, but until that day, I'm not going to keep frustrating myself playing DBD. The game has incredible potential, but the developers need to remember that the Killer is meant to be an unstoppable force, not a laughable one.
In a word, "No".
Killers are in the best place they have been in since the game started. Sounds to me like you weren't around before they made changes to window juking. That wasn't a chase. That wasn't even a chance. Trapper had the best chance, then the nurse came out, and finally windows were blocked for "abuse".
Now there is so much killer diversity it's crazy. From ax tossing Bunny Mom (a ranged attack), to dream boi...you can't even see where this guy is coming from....to an ambushing 0 terror radius chick with a switch blade arm.
"the Killer is meant to be an unstoppable force, not a laughable one."
The only time I feel this way, is when survivors willfully run right up to e, body blocking an attempt to hook a fellow survivor. At that point, yeah, I might agree....I give that a bit of an eye screw, like, "Really? This is what you would do to a killer carrying your friend to a hook"?
No matter how hard you try, unless you try-hard as heck and bring in top-tier perks/add-ons, you will not have fun because the Killers are so weak and playing Survivor is a cakewalk.
What are you talking about? Is there a reason you want to use Iron Grip I over Iron Grip III? And what's this about trying hard? I mean, you can not try as hard....but considering most survivors do try hard, the amount of effort isn't going to be even, and the survivors should win, every time.
Last thing I'll say is this...most killers DO comeback in the movies, via a sequel. But they are NOT unstoppable. Hell, in most every movie, after a big body count, the killer loses the battle just to keep fighting the war.
Freddie, Jason, and Michael have all been beaten, eventually in every movie. There are some exceptions...I mean, perhaps they got away for the moment, but they have all been beaten.
-
I have a friend, who has a cousin, who knows someone, who has a half brother that uses a macro for auto wiggle and auto struggle. Not sure I have all the information....buuuuuut it's recursive macro that he runs through Razer Synapse. If I understood them correctly, the computer can't even tell if the button is actually being pushed or if it's being told to "register" a push. The interval is set to 0.030. So he hits one button to start it, and it's auto wiggle. Press it again, and it turns it off.
I love this game and wouldn't do anything to risk my progress, but as for a hypothetical conversation...I don't think there is anyway for the game to detect the origin of the input using this method. It's NOT a script though....it's an input macro.

Hex perks are neither amazing, nor are they powerful.
They are not powerful enough to justify their drawbacks.I am suggesting that without ANY drawbacks Hex totems are a game changer. If I could just "have" Hex: Ruin for an entire trial...survivors would stop playing the game entirely. This is what makes them powerful and amazing. When I made that statement I was talking about the sole ability itself...not the drawback or poor implementation currently in place.
