I snack on the survivors salty tears /kefka laugh
-
I tunnel when I have too. Not because I feel it's cheesy or because I want the survivors to have fun($#%^ them) but I do whatever helps my game. There are times when tunneling will help you and there are instances where it's better to go after someone else.
Some examples:
If I'm out in the open and if i see an injured and a healthy survivor, I'm going for the injured one hands down. Quicker chase.
Now if someone unhooks right in front of me, I will go for the healthy survivor because I assume the injured is running BT and DS. That will take me longer to rehook them than to go after the healthy one. If I left the healthy one they would probably go back to a gen while I'm chasing the injured. The injured survivor will most likely waste time healing themselves instead of repairing a gen.
If I'm chasing someone and I injure them. We happen to run by another healthy survivor working on a gen I might break off and go after them. Another injured person and 1 less person working on a gen.
When I play my nurse I almost always run MYC. If someone makes a hook save I will tunnel the rescuer because they are exposed. No risk of DS and it's another person that's off the gens.
If someone makes an unhook while I'm far away and I run back to the hook. If I don't see the person who made the save but I see a blood trail i will go after the injured because I don't see anyone else. What am I going to do? Not going after anyone?
As a survivor it sucks when you get tunneled I admit. Being a killer main there are times when I say I would do the same thing in the killers position but there are times when the killer is hurting their game to finish me off.
-
Killer: Insidious. Every killer I see using it tends to be a face camper.
Survivor: DS. It's gotten better but it is still too safe. Survivors know they can dick around without consequence for 1 min. I know someone is going to say "dont tunnel" but even if I dont I still run into it. I can hook survivor A then leave. I can chase survivor B. Survivor C has rescued and healed survivor A. I hook survivor B. Survivor A comes to the rescue. I chase survivor A. I either down survivor A or they jump into a locker. Survivor A still has DS........
This isn't a 1 time deal. This happens to me quite often. People wonder why killers slug.
I downed and hooked another person. Survivor A even got healed up. That proves I wasnt tunneling yet DS was still active. Anti Tunnel perk my ass.

I just hate then. This is toxic, cause i only think offenses are toxic, and its meant to drive the killer crazy or humiliated.
As survivor, i dont unhook then. And a lot of other things ppl that make the game mood worse deserves.
As killer, though, i stop everything else and have a good time with the tbagger slugged. But sometimes they escape.
How do you fellow members, when playing as killers, do to assure tbaggers will have no fun the hole match? I need more tatics.
And I take note of the names, so the toxic player will aways be tunneled, camped and slugged by me, in whatever match Ill ever find him. It means, he can even manage to escape, but will have long matches doing nothing but standing downed and crawling.
It pleasures me, to punish the evil. It becomes my reason to play and have fun. No killing needed.
I hate them too but you might want to be careful about wishing death upon someone. I said death to dcers once and it got me banned from the steam forums. I don't take back what I said though. They ruin the game.
The few times it goes off, blood warden is EPIC!!!!! They teabag at the exit gate then they turn and realize they can't get out. They look back at me and I'm like "Yeah, now your mine"
-
The game will continue to down spiral until there are no killers left to bully. That's why the devs put so much effort into character chapters and licensed killers. To draw in new players because anyone who has put a decent amount of time into killer knows how bad it is.

What's even more funny is when you hook someone, look on BBQ and see them in the middle of the entering the locker animation, and then go for them. :P
That's what Ive been seeing lately lol
-
When this perk came out I was thinking it would reveal someones location when they hide from bbq. Then I realized most survivors aren't smart enough to use lockers to hide from BBQ. They don't want to get off the gens unless they have too.
I was using it on my nurse before her nerf. Mainly for those smart ass survivors that try to jump in a locker while I swing. I rarely got any pay off out of it so I switched it out. If there was a rise in head on users I could see some value in it.
-
Bond. Not for finding the random bastards cause they won't heal me. It's so when they are being chased I know if they are bringing the killer my way.
Kindred. Even though if I'm being face camped by Bubba they still wait for him to leave, which he doesn't. Instead of doing gens.

Nurse is awful on Xbox so yeah never use her and very rarely face her.
I bought dbd for my nephews xbox cause he doesn't have a pc. We didn't play for long. The console version is awful. It feels like a cash grab. Like it wasn't very well thought out. Nurse is terrible on console and I used her frequently on my pc.

I ran Tinkerer, Surge, Discordance, and BBQ. I would say only BBQ is really meta of those tbh.
I hate playing the new Nurse. It took the skill = reward ratio she had and throw it in the garbage can, and now you spend so much time recovering from fatigue and cooldown you spend more of the game passively sitting there unable to do anything than you do actually playing the game.
It isn't fun, it wasn't well done, we still got screwed with addons, she has gamebreaking bugs that are never going to be addressed, she is in a sad state right now.
It also doesn't reward careful managing of blinks because the single best way (and probably what they are pushing for) to use her now is single blinks until chase. That is extremely limiting on gameplay and her main mechanic. Overall this is just a shitshow, especially considering so many of us in the community have offered way better changes that actually reward you for smart play and don't restrict you into playing her in one specific way.
My go to Nurse build was BBQ, Ruin(now pgtw), MYC and 4th perk was whatever I felt like. NC, DH, Franklins ect. Hook someone, chase somebody with BBQ, if someone made the save go back and chase the exposed survivor. I'm not tunneling off the hook >.>
-
I bought a new keyboard and I think my space key is needs some adjustments. When I enter the struggle phase there's a good chance it won't register. It's like I'm hitting the key so fast it thinks I'm holding it down. Thinking about remapping it to something else.
-
I'm coming back from a long break. My killer is back to rank 18 and I'm still getting paired with reds and purples. I don't think it will matter what rank you are as killer. If survivors are waiting long enough the game will give them any killer regardless of rank or playtime.

There was a time where survivor could exploit points on the map which were completely unreachable for the killer to take the whole game hostage. I'v experienced it myself.
Back then it was well known, that survivors who used such exploits would receive bans.
I do not miss those days -.-

If all 4 of them are immersed and you cannot get into a Chase (because of not running Whispers) and you are not Trapper or Hag, you will have no value at all from Corrupt Intervention. No Chases, no Downs, no Hooks, no broken Pallets. It is basically as if the Game starts once Corrupt Intervention stops working.
But this does not really happen, if only 1 person is in a Chase, this is already value for the Killer. (So Whispers helps a lot with that) And I have never seen that Survivors will do nothing during Corrupt Intervention, neither when I was the Killer, nor when I was a Survivor.
(I go on a Gen anyway, even tho all 4 hiding would be better. I am there to play and not to sneak around for two minutes)
Me personally, when I run intervention the survivors just have to find a gen to work on. I've yet to see all 4 of them hiding until intervention wears off.
I mostly play trapper with intervention and whispers so the perks synergize very well. Usually by the time I'm setup intervention has some time left.
-
The problem with DH is when paired with Ruin, survivors got the ruin notice as soon as they touched a gen. Then they might go looking for it only to find DH. Ruin was essential and bringing a 2nd hex perk wasn't very practical.
Now that no one is using ruin, DH is seeing a rise in use. A lot of survivors don't look for hex perks if they don't receive a notice. If they don't fall upon the totem they won't go out of their way until they see the 3rd stack notice. By then it's easy to protect it and it actually makes you feel feared as a killer.
Unlike Huntress Lullaby, which is powerful, it doesn't pay off the effort. No audio cue sounds good but by the time you get 5 hooks the match is practically over against competent survivors. Also they get the notice when they touch a gen so it only lasts if they don't want to look for it. It's too much work for so little a reward.
DH has no notice until the 3rd stack and even though half way, it pays off at that point. 2 more stacks is bragging rights cause they let you get them. DH is risky like any hex perk but unlike the others it can turn the game around in an instant. Best part is the survivors can't complain about it. They have all the tools needed to prevent it but they chose to gen rush and got punished.........Course they also had all the tools to deal with ruin and the devs helped them anyway. Next months patch, DH requires 10 hooks to get Moris -.-

No, I found most people just immerse the 2 minutes when I use it, so no value at all
If they are immersed for 2 mins, that's 2 mins they aren't working on gens. You could be hunting them with whispers.

Perks dont fix problems. Ruin didn't fix gen speed even before they nerfed it.

God, I hope it's a bug in my game because it's really incomprehensible that something like this happens in 99% of my games

I main trapper and headsets counter him hard. Once in awhile my SWF will play without headsets and naturally we get our asses kicked more often but it's more fun.

The loading screen should quote Tywin Lannister.
"A lion does not concern itself with the opinion of the sheep"

I dont mind swf as much as I used too. My biggest complaint is the headsets. If DBD could let people join a party but take away their voice comms id be fine with that. Gives people a reason to run all those other perks.

The most unusual thing is that when I manage to kill several people thanks to the NOED, people in the chat tell me that I have no moral, when I take care of the only survivor I could hang up they say they will report me for camping. I really don't understand, it's supposed to be played for fun but I never felt so frustrated in a game like this
Welcome to DBD. Where no matter how you play you are considered toxic. Ignore the end game chat. I mean that. Unless you are deliberately doing something that you know will get you banned your doing nothing wrong. Their threats of reporting you are hollow. The devs have even put in a rule that filing false reports will get you banned because so many people are reporting. The devs stated camping, tunneling, perks, hitting survivors are not ban-able offenses. Those survivors were just salty you were using NOED. Which there is nothing wrong with NOED because there is a counter for it. The survivors just wanted to rush the gens and not worry about the totems. They made a mistake and you capitalized on that. There is no "Survivor's rule book for killers" Watch Saminations DBD parodys :P
-
Not a lot of people playing killer since the recent nerfs. That and the ranking system is ineffective. It more represents playtime for that month instead of skill. When people are in que, if the game cant find people your rank it expands the search. Wait long enough it will pair you with anyone.
Survivors don't want to admit it but they can be carried. 1 survivor can be a god at looping while the others do gens. Those 3 that did gens rank up but they themselves probably can't loop a killer if their lives depended on it. With the ranking system the way it is, there's a lot of high rank survivors that don't belong there. It takes longer to depip now. The lower ranks are flooded with survivors that should be in another bracket. So que times are very long for them. Thus when they wait long enough the MM throws any killer available there way so they can have a game. MM doesn't give 2 shits about your fun cause your the minority.
It sucks for new killers now. I came back after a long break so i deranked back to the new player ranks. I'm being paired with red and purple ranks. I've been to r1 before so i'm okay with it but i feel bad for you. New players shouldn't have to put up with veteran's. If i was a new killer i wouldn't be playing this game.
-
I reached red ranks a year ago. I havent played killer in like 8 months and I started to come back. I'm back down to rank 18 and Im being paired with purple and red ranks half the time. It's not a huge deal to me cause I've been there before but if I was a new killer. I wouldn't be playing this game when I saw how bad this MM is.
When I SWF there's even some matches where we weren't trying to be dicks, we were just playing to the best of our ability. We looped the killer for long periods of time, finish the gens and everyone escaped. Only to find out the killer had like 5 hours into the game. I feel bad when that happens. We tend to apologize to the killer because MM should have never paired him against people with 1k hours.
-
@Lunah said:
I'm a survivor main and i think that the new ruin is pretty ass. I'm a red ranked survivor and the gens go bye bye in literally less than 2-3 minutes. It's unfun for both survivor and killer because the games go by so fast so we can't really do anything lol. I get why the devs nerfed it because it had a positive and negative impact on matches and it made it easier for newer players but like if we learned to combat ruin i'm pretty sure they could too. Since the ruin nerf survivor queues have been longer than before the ruin nerf and its probably because killers don't want to load into a match and then get gen rushed 2 seconds later. Please bring old Hex: Ruin: back.
The line that singed to me is "If they learn to combat ruin like we did"
The ruin nerf was absolutely not needed. At higher ranks I switched it out for intervention or pop because good survivors aren't phased by it. Devs! If there is already a solution then stop lowering the bar. You helped the newbies but they aren't learning to help themselves. Plus you made the great survivors even harder to deal with.

yesterday I had two mates disconnecting after they were put down first time, I think there should be a ban at least for 1 week for such people
I often have people dc because they were the first ones downed. I thought with the dedicated servers they were tracking this ######### and actually punishing people for it? My favorite are the ones who dc but somehow stick around in the end game chat to whine at me.
-
I P3ed Ash just because I like the Ashy Slashy puppet :P
It's also very difficult to see if I'm bringing a key. It sticks out of the puppets ear and almost looks like his hair.
-
######### like this is why I only play survivor with friends now. I've died on the first hook because no one came to save me.
No I don't suicide on the hook when that happens but I agree I wont have fun for the rest of the match. I refuse to do it because I hold myself to a higher standard and I don't want to add to the toxicity. There's enough already. Now if I'm on the hook one person is left and they are being chased. Then Ill let myself die so they can get the hatch.
-
Good game. I'm a killer main and I feel you did nothing wrong. That killer should have left you even if you had Deliverance. Camping the hook is really not a good way to play as killer. You want to keep the pressure up and sitting still won't do that.
-
Camping already has a solution. The problem is the survivors don't know what to do.
I ran kindred one game and LF got me in the basement. I was solo so I brought kindred for this very reason. After looping LF for a good amount of time(no one finished a gen during this, yay randoms) he finally got me and hooked me in the basement. It was the auto haven map where the shack is in the very middle and he had all the perks needed to bring me there. The entire time he stood in front of me with his chainsaw revved. I stayed on that hook for as long as I possible could and 2 people were sitting at the top of stairs hoping he would leave. Only 1 person was doing gens. I brought the god damn perk that is made for this situation. They could see him through the walls and floor and most of them still screwed up. It was obvious he wasn't leaving. If everyone was working on a gen they could have escaped, LF would have had 1k, no points, not even a safety pip.
You have everything you need to solve this problem. Stop asking the devs to hold your hand.
-
I don't. Mainly because everyone thinks they are a big streamer but only have 2 viewers. Putting .TV in your name doesn't make you better at this game. Often streamers hinder my fun.
If I'm killer, odds are a streamer is going to try to piss me off to put on a show. Instead of actually playing the game. I had a streamer sabo all the hooks around his gen. When I caught him I had no where to hook him so I left him on the ground. I went hunting and chased someone else. I hooked them and BBQ revealed the other 2 running to heal him. So I went back to him. Then he called me a camper -.- He screwed his team. He could have done 1-2 gens with the time he wasted saboing. He also put me in a situation where slugging was the optimal choice cause it would complete my objective. I don.t even think he healed himself while on the ground cause both of them touched him and he didn't get up as fast as he should have. I ended up downing all 3 of them and during the process, nobody was able to save the person I hooked earlier. When I play killer, 7/10 streamers quit when I win a mind game. My favorite are the ones who ds and step in a trap.
If I'm survivor and your on my team then the killer is going to bring his try hard gear(Moris)
I don't check other peoples streams but some of my friends do when I SWF. It's mostly someone whining that they lost.
Now if they posted a video playing against me and I'm trapper or a jump scare killer. Id watch that. Seeing people vault a window and step in a trap. Or they're working on a gen and I magically come around the corner as GF. Listen to them have a heart attack.

Yeah, not like the effort needed is massive compared to the reward you get, previous the effort you put into old basekit Nurse gave you a nice reward of being able to punish people who play with 1 style (aka only looping), which means the effort put in = the reward you get.
Now its the opposite where there is too much effort and too little reward, currently an addon less nurse can be outrun by survivors in a straight even after two blinks. She's literally an add on dependent killer in order to get map pressure and survivors. Old basekit Nurse was balanced as like Spirit, she required a different type of playstyle. Nurse is also very unfun to play as each cooldown feels like a punishment for just blinking, the fatigue was enough. Basically the effort put in >> the reward you get.
Before the Nurse nerf, my two favorite killers to go against were literally Nurses and Spirits as the required a different playstyle instead of mindlessly looping. It actually provided a challenge, instead of, "Oh let me just loop this killer around a pallet, and rely on my second chance perks when I make a mistake". Both the old basekit Nurse and spirit made those second chance perks not as effective and game changing, and required skill to play against.
Old basekit Nurse didn't need a nerf, instead her add ons needed a nerf, which the majority of people said was the problem. The old basekit nurse was balanced as there was counterplay.
Yeah I miss the old nurse. They could have reworked her add ons and called it a job well done. But they had to listen to the survivor mains and hold their hands. One of the reasons I liked nurse is because looping didn't work. Anytime I have a problem as killer, survivor mains tell me to adapt. Well if your one strategy doesn't work anymore how come the game has to be changed for you? How come you aren't adapting?
I main trapper cause I just like the way he plays. I don't care that he isn't meta. However when I do get frustrated by SWFs I switch to my Nurse and murdered the next unfortunate group I come across. They would say "Why you try so hard?" "My last match I played for fun and i got bullied. Your side brought out the worst in me"
I haven't really played nurse since her rework and last night I played 10 matches with her. It took some getting used too. I was getting paired against literally all colors of the rainbow thanks to this bullshit MM. I gotta say, it is harder to get around the map now. When I found someone I was probably out of blinks and had to wait to charge up. Once charged up they had enough of a distance that 2 blinks wouldn't catch them. Out of those 10 matches there were maybe 2 people that knew how to actually juke me. Blocking LoS and forcing me to guess blink. Those survivors knew how to play against Nurse. Everyone else just kept running until they saw a pallet and tried to loop me. As if I was any ordinary killer. You would think they would learn after being downed 3 times. "Dude, how many times are we going to do this?"
-
No matter how you play there will always be survivors who complain. Ignore their heathen comments. They mean nothing to you, for they are your prey!
I recently had a match as my nurse(havent played her since her rework) After the match ended the person who was the highest rank, but also got he lowest score, said "baby nurse"
".......yet you are all dead and you only finished 2 gens?"
-
I main trapper and I use it. I preferred it over ruin before they nerfed it. It buys me time to setup my traps. Mainly I pick an area to rig as a maze of death, let the survivors get other gens outside the area, then try to herd them into the kill box. Depending on where I spawn it can be bad but it's a guaranteed 2 min protection. When it wears off I need to be hooking people though.
-
I feel we need more incentive to use lockers. The majority of people I see using them are either new or they are hiding from bbq. Stelath "can" work but rarely against a competent killer but looping "will" work and that's the problem. If you have q&q you can mess with a killer during a loop but if he doesnt find you, odds are they are going to check the locker.
If you locker juke someone, congrats. You escaped the killer.
If you jump in a locker and he opens it, you didn't waste enough of his time for your friends to do gens.
This game used to be horror but now it's just a running simulator.

that is part of the problem, her flow is gone. She used to be the most fluid killer and her power was honestly probably the most versatile power in the game able to be used outside and inside of chases, if you were smart with them of course.
Now she's janky, doesn't flow, constantly getting cucked by your own power meter. It all feels like changes suggested by people who don't play her at all.
@ApeOfMazor I was being sarcastic. I'm a very big opponent of the changes we got to Nurse.
We know for a fact the devs dont play killer past rank 20. So it would not shock me if these nurse changes were suggested by someone who doesnt play nurse.
-
I started playing nurse again. I haven't really touched her since her nerf. I need to get used to waiting for the cd to recharge. It's not that big a deal just messing with my muscle memory.
My biggest issue is it's harder to traverse the map now. By the time I find someone my blinks are already used up.

1: Ive had a good lead on billys. They use their chainsaw sprint, they stop themselves close to me and catch me before I can get to a window. Maybe my routing sucks.
2: Ive had billys rev their saw and I dont know if they built up blood lust but they were catching me revving the saw until they got right up on my ass.

When the killer is hooking someone you can get behind the survivor while the survivor is on the hook.
the idea is to bait the killer to hit You but since your behind the survivor most of the time the killer hits the hooked.
hmmm. Yeah that wont get fixed till April at least. Now if it was a bug that was somehow helping killers, that would be patched before Feb.
-
Ive been away for a good while. What is this hook exploit?
-
Your a killer. The devs don't care if you have fun.
-
Personally I think a better idea would be to remove notifications of hex perks. Before the patch, when someone touched a gen and saw ruin, some people stopped working on the gens and went hunting.
My favorite example is Devour Hope. If that is the only hex perk your running people dont go looking for it. If they dont stumble upon it you got yourself a great jump scare when you hit 3 stacks. I dont care how good you are, when you get that notice survivors ######### their pants and go looking for it lol
Id rather the survivors learn the game instead of getting more help from the devs. Both sides for that matter.
If there's no sound when a skill check appears, assume its lullaby
If your full health and went down in one shot, MYC, NOED, DH
But that would require players to learn the game and git gud. We cant allow that now can we
-
When I was lvling up Quentin I learned something important. It's that SC sucks and this was before they nerfed it. The bloodweb didn't give me SC during the lvling process so I experimented with Pharmacy. Now I never use SC anymore. I farm green medkits and just bring one of those to heal myself now.
The more intense matches I had were ones where I couldnt heal myself. One match on Macmillan estate. The one with the 2 story warehouse. I was hurt and my medkit burned up. It was me and 1 other person left. The one person was being chased as I was looking for a chest. I found one in the 2nd story warehouse. I healed myself, rescued the other person from the hook. I lead the killer on a long chase while he finished the last gen and opened the gates.
That fear I felt when I couldn't heal myself is rare now. It's why I actually like the jump scare killers. Adds to the suspense. At the start of a match my head is on a swivel until i know who the killer is. When I first get on gen I'm paranoid it's Myers or GF about to give me a wedgie.

Yeah people who could only play her with certain addons should be playing a different killer, I can agree with that. No need to hurt those of us who don't though :(
Yeah when was the last time they had a PTB with feedback that actually made it to the live game? I literally cannot remember.
I lost faith in BHVR when the pallet stun/flash light stun patch went live. The patch where if a killer was picking up someone it didn't matter when you dropped the pallet or flashed them. If they were there it registered. They took away all skill and made it so easy to stun someone during a pick up. They reverted it shortly after it released but seriously who the #@$% thought that was a good idea? Anyone who has put any decent amount of playtime(into both sides) could have told them at the drawing board "That will not $@%#ing work"
Now they made ruin super easy but I doubt they will revert that patch. Heaven forbid new players have to learn how to play.

This is a condradiction in logic.
If she was OP before because of 4 blinks then she didn't need the basekit nerf. If they had just done an addon pass you would still be able to see good Nurses that didn't require those addons, but now you need addons to even come close to the same performance as basekit Nurse before the changes.
Also, I and many others have suggested way better ways to touch her basekit and still keep her fun intact but BHVR ignored literally every suggestion, thread, and comment and went ahead and changed NOTHING about the PTB except for nerfing the 2 addons that people would actually want to use after the changes, and even then it was before they fixed the bug that made her cooldown happen sooner than intended and she was hell to play like that, let alone with it fixed.
I probably phrased it poorly. I meant because of the nerf were seeing less nurses. Ive seen a lot of nurse players(before the nerf) that absolutely sucked without 4 blinks. They needed those add ons to be good with her. Now that those add ons are gone those bad nurses have moved on. Leaving the few nurses who were actually skilled with her.
As for the devs ignoring the PTB. I honestly feel the PTB isnt for testing. They dont listen to anyones feedback. I really feel the PTB is just a way for them to prepare us for the incoming bullshit.

There really needs to be an option to disable swf pairing or give extra bp for going against a swf
If people could choose to not be matched against a swf then swf would never get a game. That's 4 customers DBD could be losing over 1. 4 times as many people to buy their crap cosmetics. They arent going to upset their majority.
As for billy, I suck against him but that's does not mean he is OP. I admit I need improvement against billy instead of whining to the devs to nerf him. THAT right there is what we need more of in this community. People admitting their mistakes and striving to improve instead of the devs lowering the bar.
