  • Ive been playing Warhammer 2 and Iceborne lately.

I'd say between the Doctor and Nurse, the difference is that Nurse did have a small BS factor to her power. I'm now saying it needed to get nerfed, but like...a good analogy would be "I died Halo 2 Multiplayer. It was probably my own fault" compared to "I died in Cup Head, it was probably BS".

However, the BS was 100% from her addons and didn't need a base kit nerf...

agreed. The add ons were one of the few things both sides agreed on something. Then the devs $#@%ed it up and went one step further.

Well, as a rank 3 survivor, most of my games have been against green rank and lower killers lately. And as a rank 2 killer, it's a real mixed bag of ranks. It's broken.

and the devs wont fix it. That's why they are making rank invisible. So long as the majority has a match they could care less how the other side feels.

  • DS is a is probably the best perk for solo but I dont use it. I dont want to depend on it.

An exhaustion perk. Whichever you prefer.

    A strong medkit.

I prefer a more warning approach. Things like spine chill+urban evs. Or at least spine chill so you know when the killer is coming.

Bond. Not to find other people to heal you but to know when to get the hell out of dodge. I cant count the amount of times a survivor being chased runs past me and the killer switches targets. I know it's usually not deliberate but damn does it feel like it sometimes.

Kindred just to help with the face campers. Though some survivors still never learn.

  • Love

Mikey+GF+Miss Piggy+No sound Wraith. Those jump scares remind me this is a horror game

Trapper cause I main him and when someone out smarts me. I say well played sir

Nurse without BS add ons because she is hard as hell to learn and I respect the ones that took the time to do it.

    Hate

Bubba. Most bubbas I see never M1. They chase you till bloodlust builds, chainsaw then face camp you to death.

Plauge. When I solo I find myself being the only one who DOES NOT cleanse. So I'm injured and she has her ranged attack.

Oni/Billy. Not that I dont like these killers but due to the servers and lag I have had some ######### moments. I've had several instances where I asked how did that hit me?

  • @McLightning said:

So you played against a Doctor...tried to loop him like any normal M1 killer, and it didn't work, so he needs to be nerfed instead of adapting against him.

    DBD survivors in a nutshell.

We still haven't forgotten what you did to original Freddy.

That's how nurse got nerfed. Survivors whined their 1 trick pony didn't work on her. Instead of changing things up they begged for a nerf and they got their wish.

  • For me it's whispers. It's an amazing tracking perk. I've had people accuse me of wall hacking. When I explained to them I was using whispers they usually drop the accusation. I guess people don't despise it because it requires skill to use properly unlike BBQ.

I was on coldwind farm one game. It was the one with the red barn in the corner. 2 survivors alive and the 1 gen left. I was at the shack that was in the corner of the map. Whispers was going off. The gens near there were complete already. I look around the shack and saw nothing. I go inside and check the lockers upstairs. I then go downstairs and look around. Whispers is still going off. I check each locker downstairs and the very last one was where the survivor was hiding.

In the end game chat he asked How I knew he was there. I said Whispers. The gens were done so there was no reason for you to stick around that area. Once I first walked into the shack and checked the lockers upstairs. Whispers was still going off. So you had to be in there. If you were outside you would have taken off.

  • @RobMeister88 said:

With Ghostface he needs his revealing mechanic to be changed, that's it. I can look him dead in the eye and he'll still expose me. Myers is fine where he is, he's just a basic M1 killer who's add-on reliant against good survivors.

When you say dead in the eye are you like literally facing him with no cover? Was he leaning around a corner? Did you move him off center screen for a split second?

Cause that's not how to play against gf. You don't challenge him to a staring contest. Best to run from him blocking LoS and hope someone else reveals him.

  • I stopped playing killer when the nurse got reworked. I came back after the ruin nerf to see how bad things were. That wasn't what drove me away. It was the MM. I deranked back to 18 and I'm getting the same red rank survivors I would face at r1. I can't imagine what new killers are going through.

  • Untitled Image

This pretty much sums up how I feel about some games lol

  • @Argosek said:

I just wonder how many people play killer when system force you to play vs red ranks as yellow killer....

I can't imagine being a new killer now with this MM. The ones who've been to r1 before know how to play they just have to try hard all the time now. I could not recommend this game to anyone if they intended to play killer. It would be sheep to the wolves.

Makes me wonder how this game is still going. The devs are making it impossible for new killers to enjoy the game so they leave. The veteran killers keep getting nerfed that they play something else.

They could still go back and pick them up since Franklins doesn’t take them out of the game like cleansing a hex does.

That's actually what i want them to do. Someone tries to body block me when I pick up someone, they drop their precious toolbox, I pretend to walk away only to 180 and down them again. Even if the guy wiggles out he's still injured, i got another person I can hook and 1 less toolbox.

The exhaustion nerf absolutely needed to happen. It was unfair as #@$%. The ruin nerf doesn't even come close to this. I suppose you want to bring back old MoM while were at it and make BT work on both survivors again? Maybe even revert Freddys rework?

I think htat was exaggerating. I don't tunnel or camp boxes as pig and I don't see that very often. What I experience is, it happens rarely when a chase comes close to me on a box, then I get probably just downed so I have to waste the time again searching the box, to probably die to the timer.

I also don't think that the RBTs are bad atm. Their main purpose is not to kill, and it is unlikely that all traps are removed at the first box. So just running and searching takes 30 seconds roughly (?) per box you ned to search. That's quite a bit.

I also don't see how they are not a threat. If they are not active, they can't kill you. But what do you expect from the game? No gens popping? There will be the time when they activate and then they are a threat. I do at least one box I'm close to, also when the trap isn't active yet. Just to have sufficient time to get it off. If it is the 4th box that you can pull it off, you nearly can't take any disturbance or you will die, just because you didn't treat it as threat while inactive. If you wanna gamble like "it won't be the 4th one" then it's your choice, but it is definitely a threat.

I wasn't implying you were tunneling someone with a trap. Tunneling is an over used word. I was just pointing out that it's more productive as killer to trap someone else instead of going after the person with a trap already on their head.

  • Yeah on console the game is worse. You dont need to friend someone to send them a hateful message. You just need to open the "recently played with" tab.

HOW COULD THE DEVS STOP PLAYERS FROM BEING TOXIC AND FLAUNTING THEIR WIN? ANSWER: THEY CAN'T. THERE IS EVERYTHING IN PLACE FOR KILLERS NOT TO HAVE TO SEE TOXIC MESSAGES AND/OR REPORT PLAYERS WHO GO TOO FAR.

All capital letters doesn't make your statement any stronger.

If they send you a message just quote Tywin Lannister. "A lion does not concern himself with the opinion of the sheep" >.>

  • This and the MM is a serious problem with this game. It is literally pushing away new players from touching killer. Like you said, if you drive all the killers away how much fun will that be? Thing is most of these sweaty survivors just want to bully a killer even if they don't stand a chance.

  • What I don't understand are the pig players that tunnel the person with the RBT to death. That person already has a trap on their head. It's more productive of your time to go after someone else. If the person with the trap is the only person you see, okay that makes sense. No reason to leave them alone. But if you see 2 people and 1 has a trap already on their head why not go after the other person to trap them?

I'm just a rank 14 and the game sometimes puts me with purple/red ranks. I've thought about quitting many times, because it feels bad going against people who know what they're doing while I'm still learning. I even made a dramatic vow to never try killer again, lol.

Though, I did eventually try again because I thought killer just seemed so much more interesting than survivor. But, it became obvious pretty quickly that I was going against higher ranks. Again. In the end, I got one person on the hook. I would have gotten two, but someone did a flashlight save (which I didn't even know was a thing). Anyway, when the gates opened two of them stayed behind and kept motioning me to follow them, so I did. Then they kept pointing at the hooks. They wanted me to hook them, so I did. And after the game, they gave me tips.

They probably pitied me and wanted me to at least get some points, but what I appreciate most was the post-game chat where they took the time to give me tips. They even threw in a gg when they knew damn well they demolished me.

Stuff like that, though extremely rare, kept me from quitting. But it's really hard for new killers to learn when we're constantly being thrown in with people who know how to play already. I want to be a "killer main," but I'm not exactly having the best time trying to learn.

What I hate is when survivors say GG EZ. That EZ part to me is saying "you suck" You got lucky with those survivors. Most won't give you a kill or advice in the end game chat.

  • @BeHasU said:

Whats there to be fixed. You get camped, 3 survivors escapes and the killer depips. While he is camping the hook stages are longer than usual. Learn how to loop, it's so easy to lose killers these days with all the perks and survivor side maps.

    +1

Fun fact, I don't use DS, Adren or BT.

For the same reasons I never used ruin as a killer (R2 currently).

Training wheels create bad habits and are difficult to change.

I actually didn't run ruin half the time as killer. It didn't affect good survivors and they often spawned next to it. I main trapper so I preferred intervention or pgtw. R16 currently cause I stopped playing since the nurse nerf but I've been to r1 before as trapper.

The devs need to take off these damn training wheels on both sides.

The one thing the ruin nerf has improved is my Devour Hope gameplay. Without another hex perk to give them a notification there are a lot of survivors who don't look for totems until the 3rd stack. By then it's too late /kefka laugh

I'm much in the same boat, though your break seems like it was longer than mine.. all the way back to rank 18?

But yes, matchmaking is #########. After my break I was out to rank 14 and been slowly trying to get back up, but I'm finding it pointless as at rank 10, the only games I seem to get are red ranks or SWF red ranks with a guest appearance. MMR might as well be implemented at this point. #########, just get rid of ranks period so mixed skills can play together and force everyone to get better

I stopped playing killer when the nurse got reworked. That broke the camels back so to speak. I came back recently to see how bad things were with the ruin nerf. I remember why I left.

  • @TheBilldozer said:

    Translation:

Lots of egos are still bruised because they refuse to find a way to play better. Lots of entitled players think they deserve to be R1-3 because they've clocked a lot of hours in the game.

Spoiler Alert: if you depending on Ruin to get you that far and you refuse to adjust, you probably aren't half as good as you're convinced you are.

The re-work was brilliant for the rest of us. The re-work has created an entire new meta and opened up a wide array of combos that make the game more challenging and exciting for both survivors and killers.

There's nothing that will change my mind, so arguing with me is pointless.

One could also argue if you depended on DS, Adren, BT, toolboxes and headsets then you probably aren't 1/4 as good as you think you are. Yet this rule only seems to apply to killers and not survivors.

  • Just because you lose to a killer does not mean he's OP

and sometimes there is no advice that can magically net you a win. Sometimes you have to keep playing the game and actually git gud.

  • I was on a break and deranked back to 18. I had plenty of matches where the survivors were complete newbies and were asking me to take it easy on them. Then there were matches where I was being paired against purples and reds at rank 18. If I was a new killer I wouldn't play this game after seeing that. I feel bad for newbie killers getting thrown into the fire like that.

  • I run BBQ, PGTW, MYC and 4th is whatever I feel like. Franklins for toolboxes, NC for finding people, sloppy butcher to slow things down further.

MYC is a great perk for nurse because she can still leave the hook and get back pretty quick.

I bring no add ons when your learning nurse because they can throw off your blinks when your run out of them.

    New Killer Perk:

If you are carrying a survivor and there is no other survivor in X amount of meters, and the survivors gets out (through wiggling or DS) the survivor immediatly goes down again.

    Second chance perk git.

    I got a better idea.

    "Pretty good job so far"

If 3 gens pop within 1 minute of each other the entity resets one of them :P

  • I feel this was yet another deliberate maneuver to get people to buy dlc. I'm at least glad my dailies only include characters that I have. I recently have had some bad experiences with another game I've been playing. They give me dailies for characters I don't even own. The daily is impossible to complete cause I have no desire to unlock said character so i have to recycle the daily.

  • I haven't played much since the ruin rework but I imagine red ranks are the opposite of what you describe. When the devs make it difficult for killer then I can picture most high rank killers running the top 3. All with the same try hard perks. When you make a game harder people tend to stick with what works. Not the opposite. Your probably having a string of good luck being paired with the few good killers that can succeed with non meta killers/perks.

I love to play as my trapper or get jump scares with GF. But when I get matched with a sweaty red rank swf at rank 16, I switch back to my nurse. A shadow of what she was but still pretty powerful if not unforgiving at times.

I feel the ruin rework was not needed. It only affected bad survivors. By making their jobs easier you flooded the purple/ed ranks with people that don't belong there. Thus screwing with MM and making solo survivor an even greater nightmare.

  • We do have some 2nd chance perks. The problem is the survivors have ways to counter them that don't require any perks or items.

NOED only works if they choose not to do totems.

Blood Warden is hilarious when it goes off but they can just 99% a gate.

Rancor can give you 1 kill for the end game but most obsessions hide until the gates are open.

  • @AvisDeene said:

Killer takes a huge risk with Old Ruin due to the fact that it was a Totem and could be easily found and cleansed. Essentially making the killer play with 3 perks. Survivors also have perks to counter the hex by helping them find it. They were also able to bring in a map. Survivors also have perks that helped them speed up gen repair.

So what counter do killers have against toolboxes? I mean all the Survivor has to do is hold down M2. How can a killer improve when 3-4 people bring them in? What counter do killers have against Brand New Parts?

Game is easier for Survivors than it is for killers, and all Survivors have to do in order to make it even easier is cry on the forums and dc every time they face something that inconveniences them.

What counter do killers have for toolboxes

    Franklins?

    @thrawn3054 said:

I haven't had any issue without Ruin really. It was honestly not a great perk. It was too inconsistent. I disagreed with the nerf because I thought they should have had something ready to compensate.

When corrupt intervention got here and pgtw got buffed I stopped using ruin for most of my killers. They often spawned on top of it and good survivors weren't even phased by it.

  • This is the reason this game is so broken. People like you come to the forums and whine for nerfs. Instead of "gitting gud" you want the devs to make it easier for you. Problem is these devs are destroying their own game by catering to you.

  • I agree with you to some extent. There needs to be more people playing survivor because it's 4 v 1. However what we have here is hardly anyone wanting to play killer anymore. This game is like a pendulum. It needs to swing back violently. Until then enjoy your 10 mins que times as survivor.

  • I think a better solution is to make gates regress very fast when they aren't being opened. I remember when SWFs could see the killers perks if they died before the match ended. Then they would tell their team "Killer has noed and blood warden" Glad they fixed that part.

  • What's common is a survivor complaining about how I played. What is super rare is when another survivor in that same room defends me.

  • I don't think its pointless to argue about the patch but I think ruin wasn't a solution to begin with. The real issues are

    Gens get done too fast

Most killers have low mobility or powers that don't end chases quickly

The killer simply can't be everywhere

I believe that something needs to be done but I don't think bringing old ruin back will do that. This game was designed around the necessity of survivors making mistakes. Thing is when they make zero mistakes the killer stands little to no chance.

  • 1) Even if they remove the lamps it will only affect bad survivors, which we all know those are who the devs cater too. It will be the same as old ruin totem. They can add as many different spawning locations. Eventually people will memorize them.

I personally think the gens speed should be adjusted depending on the killer being used. High mobility killers it should stay the same. Slower killers, killers that need time to setup or killers whose power doesnt help them in a chase should get gens that take longer to repair.

If the survivors are repairing a lot of gens in a short amount of time the entity should slow them down. Vice versa if the killer is steam rolling the entity should speed them up.

Last if the killer is chasing someone the entity should slow down the gens. We all know the best time to repair a gen is when someone is being chased. The killer is occupied so the entity affects gen repairs.

None of this will ever happen but it's good to brain storm.

  • Hold M1

    Dont ever complain about NOED.

  • I think I know why MM is so messed up.

The devs are color blind :P

  • Usually if someone is pulled off the hook with a killer nearby. If the survivor has BT they try to take a hit for the person who saved them because it's a free hit. If I see someone unhook in front of me I assume they have BT and the injured survivor has DS. So I go after the person who made the save.

But yeah, survivors, try playing killer then tell me how I should play.

  • If we want the devs to listen to us then we ALL need to stop playing their game. Won't happen but that's what will do it. Not our voices but our wallets.

  • Devs dont ban hackers period. Even if you have video evidence. You need to alt tab out of the score screen, upload a video to youtube then use steam to post it.

It's the only time I will deliberately quit a match.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

Id rather they just cancel it if ive hooked someone else since. If I find you again under a minute from your unhook having hooked someone else and I get stunned by an "anti tunnel perk" somethings wrong.

This i believe is a fair request. If someone rescued you, i down+hook someone else that proves i wasnt tunnelling. Then that person goes for the save knowing they still have their ds. Anything that makes the survivor want to get in the killers face is ass backwards.

  • You dont need more help. The devs have given you enough. What will it take to realize that? When there are no more killers left and you cant find a match?

  • Technically your not doing anything wrong. Your using in game perks to do this. If the devs felt this was unfair and bannable they would patch it. Or make an announcement like they did with Legions old add ons. The infinite mending strategy. As far as I know no such announcement has been made so your in the clear. Teach those carried survivors the nurse is still to be feared!

  • Trapper. Either let him start with his traps or let him refill at a locker like Huntress.

I would love the idea of a trap mine. Like while your moving push a button and without stopping the trapper drops an unarmed trap where he is standing when the button was pressed. Over a period of time, say 10 seconds, the trap arms itself. A way to block off pallet loops without giving up the chase.

I would also put a skill check when disarming a trap. Failure to disarm injures or traps the survivor. Add ons increase the traps difficulty like Over Charge.

  • @CrescentGent said:

Since killer related stuff and things are getting nerfed patch after patch, think it's about time we address the elephant in the room, borrowed time. General consensus of Borrowed time (BT) is that your can unhook survivors and that person is granted deep wounds upon a hit after the fact. Sounds alright so far? Not only this but here's the kicker, you can use it as many times as you want!

This not only encourages YOLO saves but encourages toxic gameplay which isn't out of the norm for survivor mains anyway.

TL:DR: Nerf Borrowed time so that it may only be used once every few minutes or even better, once or twice per trial.

I don't have an issue with BT. Usually if they unhook right in front of me the rescuer takes their place. We shouldn't nerf something because someone doesn't know how to play properly. That's what happened to ruin.

By itself it's fine. When mixed with other perks it can be unfair. I hate it when someone is saved from a hook, I assume they have BT and DS so I go after the rescuer. I hook the rescuer. The first hooked survivor heals up and comes back to make the save. Same situation, I assume there's BT and DS so I go after the healthy survivor who made the rescue. I down them and their DS from when I hooked them long ago is still up. That's what I want changed.

  • The win condition is "to have fun" but only if your a survivor. If your a killer your just there for their amusement :P

  • I feel BT is balanced and I'm a killer main. As killer if I don't want it to trigger I can play certain killers that eliminate my TR. If someone uses it right in front of me I can usually take out the rescuer to take their place.

  • I suggest just keep playing the killers your trying to learn. If your losing you will depip eventually. If your still being matched against the higher ranks that just means if you learn how to kill them with a newer killer you'll be ready for anything.

The MM in this game sucks so even deranking you can still be matched with those high ranks.
