I can down the guy with who's using BT but I can't deal with the guy running DS in a locker with Head On and Inner Strength.
Those are the few times I'm glad I main trapper. Trap the locker and leave. They aint getting out unless they got help. Preferably a honing stone add on.

Devs said they aren't planning changing the Pig. There are so many suggestions that are so interesting and kinda SAW themed but, unfortunately, I don't believe devs will do anything with them. Heartbreaking, I know...
I heard they are kinda looking into her add-ons, at least that's something. Some of her add-ons are so bad they really need a rework.
Reworking add ons tends to worry me. They have a nasty habit of over doing it -.-

That's the thing I don't .Thats why I'm baffled.
I guess survivors are just more boasted more than ever before.
I think that's what happened. If these survivors couldnt hit great skill checks ruin probably kept them in their place.

Well even if you follow all the rules in the survivors guide book your still called a camper, a tunneler, or my favorite GG EZ. When you say EZ your saying you suck. Killers are a product of their environments and if I had the survivor community as my neighbor, id thanos snap you asshats in a heartbeat.

Okay.. and what's stopping them from running CI or PGtW then? Even new ruin can slow the game down plenty of they don't break it and you can push them off gens. Combining it with a tracking perk like BBQ, discordance, or surveillance let's you know where to go to apply that pressure.
You have options. Lots of them. You just can't rely on ruin to do it all for you now.
Ruin doesnt stop anything unless you chase them off the gen. Again, 4 v 1. You cant pressure all 4 unless they are dumb enough to all stand together.
Intervention is okay and I like it on my trapper. People either wait for you to be chasing someone then work on a closer gen or they hide till it wears off. But once its gone you really are on the clock,
PGTW is also great but it only works if you get a hook. 3 gens can pop by the time you down someone with an M1 killer.
Last why do killers have to run specific perks/builds just to stand a chance? Survivors can go in naked and win. With killer, half our setup is decided for us.

Oh please, can we stop blaming everything on Ruin change? It's slowly getting old.
This has more to do with survivor emblems having gotten easier and easier to get over time, and then the rank reset changes. There were quite a few survivors in red ranks who absolutely didn't belong there even before the Ruin patch landed.
The matchmaking was also broken before the Ruin change. I returned to playing survivor for tome 1 challenges. Starting out at rank 20 and stopped around 5 to not get to red ranks. I played only against a handful of green killers. Mostly yellow. I double pipped maybe 3/4 games I played actually serious and escaped, even at purple ranks. This too makes it easier for survivors to rank up if you almost never play against better killers.
Also killers don't have it more difficult to pip. The Gatekeeper emblem has been improved. As someone who didn't play with Ruin before the nerf I can say if anything I pip more easily now due to Gatekeeper usually being a bit better. Those who did rely solely on Ruin will now have to go through an adjustment period where they will need to learn to play how the other 20% without Ruin did, then they will pip again.
It's not "ruin" that's was the problem so much as why they nerfed it in the first place. To make the game easier for newbies. That kind of behavior is screwing with the game. Every time they lower the bar for the new players it becomes easier for the skilled ones. It was a perk that only affected bad survivors. So then why did they nerf it in the first place? It helped keep those newbies out of red ranks. Now they rank up even easier than before. We got red survivors that drop pallets prematurely. Tell me the ruin nerf didn't encourage that?
Ruin was a band aid that was thrown over a severed limb. It wasn't much but it was something. Now that its gone the main issue is still not addressed. Also toolboxes are strong now because there is nothing stopping them early game. You could run Franklins but you cant hit everyone carrying one before they complete a gen.
Everyone just dismiss's the gen speeds by saying apply pressure or git gud. Well you cant pressure 4 people at once. Perks are not a solution to something that is broken with the core mechanics. Telling people to play a meta killer isn't a solution either. It's bad balancing. You also say that if you depended on ruin your a bad killer. I call bullshit. Many of the killers lack early game pressure and mobility. They need ruin, intervention, pgtw or something that slows down the game. And I don't care how old this argument gets. It wont go away until it's fixed or the game dies. Keep nerfing killers and buffing newbie survivors and that's exactly where its heading.

Bring a map offering to Lerys or the Game. Tell me how much tall grass there is to hide a trap on those maps -.-

BT you can simply chase them for 15 secs then hit them. People with BT can try to body block their savior but you can usually go around them. Some killers can remove their tr and remove BT from even activating.
DS on the other hand. I can hook a guy, leave him, find and down another person. The first guy gets saved+heals up then he saves the person I found after him. I down the first guy again and DS is STILL ready.
BT ensures the safety of your teammate. DS just helps you. It only lasts a brief time where DS lasts an entire minute of immunity. So I consider BT to be more balanced and party friendly.

I havent played this game for a long time so i dropped at rank 18 but shouldnt i be matched with rank 18s?
I'm in the same boat. Since they nerfed ruin survivors have an easier time ranking up. Killers are depipping because it's harder without early game pressure. So the red ranks are flooded with survivors that shouldnt be there and killers very scarce cause no one is playing till they fix this mess. Once you que up long enough the match making then throws the first available killer your way. regardless of what rank you are.
Which is why they are going to hide the ranks so you can't "see" that your getting screwed.

Getting rid of noed takes time~
Survivors have time aplenty. Killer doesn't. You rush gens without thinking about totems, you risk noed :P
-
Try playing as the doctor against red survivors and then tell me he is OP.
Seriously. One of the best ways to learn how to counter a killer is to play them and see what survivors do to you.
-
They get a GG even if they ALL run DS, Adren, BT, DH and bring toolboxes.
Besides we've had this argument countless times before. Survivors can get rid of noed before it even gets used. End of Discussion.

I personally don't like bubbas that do nothing but build bloodlust, chainsaw and basement camp but I can do something about that. I can get better at vaulting, routing or not get downed near the basement. I know bubba is a weak killer so Id rather they not make him any weaker.
@BubbaSawyerMeats said:
the less effective killer gets, the cheesier the tactics they will use get. EVERY killer seems to face camp now that ruin is gone.
Also the more likely they will use a meta killer or leave the game. I always laugh at the people who complain all they see are spirit and billy. "You made it this way!"

I have a tendency to vault a window, take 2 steps and still get hit. i had hoped the servers would fix that but it doesn't feel like it. It really sucks when I vault the window on the 2nd floor of Myers house, get halfway to the ground and my scalp gets shaved.
-
Flash light users also like to click it on and off multiple times. To piss you off and get you to chase them. Anyone who wants the killer to chase them feels like a wannabee streamer who is trying to get viewers. They are often some of the worst randoms to be teamed with. Instead of doing gens they are pissing off the killer to put on a show.
-
Unless I'm using a killer with high mobility to take advantage of the aura reading, I don't use BBQ. I prefer Whispers over BBQ hands down. If not for the BP bonus I wouldn't even run BBQ on anyone but my Nurse.

So tonight I managed to get all perks at rank 3 on all my killers and cap at 1 millions BPs. I have all perks on Meg and Steve so I don’t “need,” blood points anymore.
Yes I still want them, stockpile addons for killers and survivors of course, but I don’t NEED double blood points. This is the first time in a long time I feel able to actually run without BBQ and I’m looking forward to it.
I never ran Tremors because it almost duplicates BBQ but without bonus BP for example.
Anyone else feel like they only have 3 perk slots on killer because of BBQ?
Slightly off topic but I really think thrilling tremors would be an amazing perk if it just blocked ALL the gens. As it stands it just tells you which ones they aren't working on. It has a pretty long cd so I dont think it would be OP but every killer might run it. Thus leading to a nerf :P

But the potential for Blood Warden plays..
As much as I like blood warden most survivors know to 99% a gate so they avoid it. It would be nice if leaving a gate switch regressed progress.

I didn't read every post so this could have been suggested already.
I would like her ambush to get some adjustments. Not just sound and reduced terror radius but I want her Dash to apply status effects or something. Currently if you get the drop on someone it's actually better to stand up and go for a grab. There's not much reason to use her dash unless your trying to mind game a pallet.
Her crouch speed could use a slight buff. Since GF got here she just feels slow by comparison.

The audacity of killers bringing moris/noed. I guess you want salt or dcs or whatever.
NOED can be countered before it even shows up in a match. Even with Franklin's Demise you cant stop them before they get to use a toolbox. There is zero detriment to bringing a toolbox where as NOED can be a wasted perk slot.
MORIs at least stop you from pipping(as if that matters with this MM) Toolboxes help you pip while making your objective easier.
-
It's even worse on the other end. Rank 14 killer facing all reds ><
-
Just make it so if your healed or the killer hooked someone else it wears off. Then it will be perfect.
-
Just after i left you could vault a window, bamboozle would block it but the survivor could still vault it. So long as it wasn't blocked by the entity after 3 vaults. I used it a bit on my m1 killers so i was hoping they fixed it. It's pretty hard to tell if it works when your playing killer.

Did you even ask a question? I don't see how using a macro is really going to matter, as there is hysteresis on struggle. A macro can't make it go faster, so who cares.
Id imagine if you use a macro that gives you an advantage it is bannable. The devs could care less but Steam might care. However if a macro won't help you then why bring it? Why risk getting banned if it provides no benefit to you anyway?

I disagree. It wouldn't kill the game because it would add more killers. More killers means more people to spread out the ranks. The reason r20 killers face r1 survivors is the lack of killers. More killers means less survivors and a more even playerbase. Which would be a step in the right direction for matchmaking.
Also this post isn't here to complain about the games problems. I'm just trying to suggest something new and fun. There are plenty of posts aimed at the bugs and issues.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1069641#Comment_1069641
Shards and splinters are nice but you don't get perks. Also they are a choice (you know which killer you are trying out), and they are one time use. Whereas this would give you a load out of T3 perks, and you have no idea. You might want to try out legion and wind up playing the pig and being like "holy crap I can make lion sounds" and now you have a new pig main.
Taking away killer choice wont add more killers. Killers will play something else. Even if you make them pick a list of 3, most killers will pick the same top 3. This won't diverse anything. It will only make killers role even harder than it already is. Even if your idea was implemented that would mean all killers would have to max out 3 killers if they want to stand a chance. If you take away a players freedom to choose who they play, they won't play this game and then you will have no killers. It's not the killers fault that you only see 3 killers most of the time. It only shows how bad this game is balanced. If BHVR really balanced out all the different killers than we would see variety but we don't. What's that tell you? This game isn't balanced.
Would you play mortal kombat if the game choose which fighter you play as? Would you play Halo or CoD if the game decided what guns you were to use? Or if Civ decided what faction you play?
This change only benefits survivors and after the ruin nerf the pendulum needs to swing back violently if you want this game to stick around.

I have no idea what they did to roadhog :P
aura just said "ruin was not deactivated it was changed" and I disagreed with this example
I used to play OW but mostly quick play. I stayed out of rank. I want to go back but at the same time I don't. I stopped playing just before they put in the role que. I've played MMOs since I was 18. I could have told them certain roles are going to be sitting in que for a long time. I'm worried if I go back and I que up as a DPS, then people are going to expect me to use the absolute best DPS there is and my k/d ratio has to be very high. I didn't play OW like that. 90% of the time I was healer or tank because nobody on quick play wanted to do that. When I picked DPS I wanted to mess around with sombra or practice my genji/widowmaker. If I'm going to be told who to play as, on quick play, id rather play something else.

Gears of war 5? There's a 4th?
It came out like Oct and it was a mess of a launch. Even the campaign didn't work. It's standing on 1 severed foot right now. It was almost as bad as Judgement. Bugs are still plenty and more pop up each update. Game breaking bugs too.
They took out the loot boxes but my god there is so much useless ######### in the shop that can only be acquired through real money. Magically despite all the issues the shop is always working?

I wish blizzard could break away from activison and keep their ######### like Bungie did with Destiny. Though I'm not sure that would even be possible. I'm not sure how Bungie managed to take destiny with them but the game certainly improved when they were free of their microtransaction overlords. Blizzard has so many IPs if it were legally possible you can bet Activision will fight that tooth and nail. They'll contact a Necromancer to bring back the ghost of Johnnie Cochran to fight that case. They will go that far.
I heard recently Rod from The Coalition(TC) left gears of war 5 to join blizzard. I certainly wouldn't want to join blizzard right now with all the backlash they've been facing the past year.
-
I havent played survivor in 2 months. I have started playing killer again and at rank 18-10 it took me 3-5 mins each que. Lets just say who I was being paired with matched all the colors of the rank rainbow.
-
With the way things are now I think that will actually kill the game. Since ruins nerf most killers have zero early game pressure now. MM is flooded with survivors because killer just isn't fun right now. Any new killers are being matched against red ranks. I'm talking a r18 killer facing all r1s. I'm not making this up, it's happened. New players dont want to play killer. If you take away the choice of which killer we get then no one will play killer.
Unlike survivor, killers all function differently. If you want more killer variety then the game needs to be overhauled to where everyone stands a chance. Not just the killers with mobility and one shot potential.
I agree we need more killer variety but this is not the way to do it. Even if you were to mix up the survivors load outs to compensate it still wouldnt be fair.

Yea, I think trapper is one of the best killers to use it with. If you use the add-on that causes Survivors to get injured when they disarm traps, they really get screwed. But like you said, you need it in a well hidden corner.
It’s so satisfying when you’re chasing someone and one of their teammates come to take aggro and they get downed instantly!
Whats better is when someone tries to body block you just as it activates. I downed someone and someone saved another survivor, giving me my 3rd stack. So they didn't get the notification yet. I circled around him for a bit then I picked him up. 2 guys tried to body block me from carrying him to the basement. The first one got downed and the 2nd one ran into a corner so I turned 1 into 3 lol
-
GF is fine. Try playing "as" him against survivors who aren't potatoes and tell me his reveal mechanic is broken. What I find works best, don't stare him down. If he is stalking you GTFO. If you challenge him to a staring contest he can expose you before you reveal him. If he is leaning around a corner you can't reveal him because you need to see his center mass, not his head. Your best bet is to run from him looking backwards or have someone else break him out of it. The closer you are to him the worst it gets. If you move your camera off him for a split second the reveal resets. The closer he is the greatly chance for error.
-
It has seen a rise in popularity lately. It was very risky to run it with another hex perk, like ruin. They touch a gen, they see ruin and they go looking for it. Often they would find a hex totem and it turned out to be DH instead. Now that no one is using ruin, DH isn't being looked for at the start of the game. Provided it's not in a bad spot I'm seeing majority of survivors don't do totems. Unless it's lit and they happen to come across it they don't get off the gens. Probably why so many people ######### about NOED. It is one of the few moments as a killer where you feel feared. If it's in a nice V shaped spot it is a blessing from the entity if your trapper. They can't get to it without disarming the trap. If you get 5 stacks that mori is deserved.
-
I can tell you her nerf was good and bad. The add ons needed the nerf but she didn't. The god nurses are still godlike but everyone else is meh. Before her rework I considered my self a good nurse. Good, not god. Now that I have to recharge my blinks it takes longer to simply catch up to people. By the time they recharge they already got to a jungle gym or a building and its a guessing game. A Kate lead me into the school on freddys map and it was just a nightmare. I was screwing up so much it got to the point where if someone ran in there I gave up the chase. I want to get better at nurse but its just too frustrating now. Killers have it rough regardless of who they choose thanks to the ruin nerf and MM but using nurse is like pouring salt over the wound. I like characters with high skill ceilings but the way these devs operate, why bother learning a top tier killer when they will nerf them at one point?

Yeah it’s no bug, just without it Ruin toolboxes are even stronger in a way. Just solo if I take one I feel bad for the killer because a gen is done before the first chase, if the other people work on gens (IF) then usually 2 gens done. So I stopped bringing them unless I have a challenge or daily.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1067439#Comment_1067439
BHVR called everyone’s bluff, thinking everyone was just whining and overdramatizing the Ruin nerf... and more importantly the wording on the post that made it very clear that they are much more concerned about survivor experience than killer.
Turns out for a large number of people it wasn’t a bluff. I think they’re probably actually panicking right now figuring out how to right this ship before that lose players altogether.
Yeah, ruins creation was to address the issue of gens get done too fast because the killer cant pressure 4 people at once. It barely helped the issue but it was something. Then its like the devs forgot why they made the perk in the first place. Now that its gone they're probably like "Oh, that's why we made it"

Maybe the devs should start rethinking totemspawns, or perhaps make the cleansing time longer. Atleast that would give the killer the chance to protect it.
I think they need to rethink the core mechanics of the game. They've added totem spawns left and right. Once people play a few times on each map they have the new locations memorized.

You nailed it on all your points, but what is broken about toolboxes? Are they bugged now too?
Im not entirely sure myself but it's such an issue that the devs said they were looking into it. So it has to be big. I think because ruin is gone, toolboxes can repair gens insanly fast. Otz(whatever his name is) posted a video recently about it. It's on these forums.

I started a new campaign on warhammer 2. This mm pushed me away.
-
Dumb things ive done? Too many to list.
The smartest thing ive done was go through the exit gate instead of sticking around. One game it was the swamp. Trapper hooked somebody in the basement in the boat. He wasnt leaving. This was before they added the EGC. One person was being chased and another stepped in a trap. I just left. They yelled at me but sometimes you gotta cut your losses. Im a trapper main, i know their tricks cause i do it! 1 hooked person in the basement screams "here he is. Come and get him". They turned 1k into 3k.
-
Beware!
Asking for an add on rework is what lead to the nurse nerf.
-
Ruin was gutted.
New survivors are being boosted, flooding red/purple rank
Killers lost early game pressure.
A list of killer and audio bugs have not been addressed.
Because theres a killer shortage the few that remain are getting try hards most of their games. Causing them to leave.
Toolboxes are broken right now
New players are probably being driven away from playing killer due to the MM
Survivor mains whined for nerfs so enjoy it. You got what you wished for. See you on civ 5 :p
-
When she first came out I seriously thought she was saying "Pretty good job so far" in a dead language.
-
If you don't have a means of downing another survivor than no it is not toxic. If it was a killer with a chainsaw I would call it toxic because they have a way to down another survivor. If you were old nurse I would also call it toxic cause you could catch them before they get to the exit if you were good. Now, with the cd for blinks, I'm not so sure.
-
Remember when survivors weren't able to see if someone was running no mither? You tried to heal them and it wasn't working.
I only used it for his adapt achievement and never again. I'm not a good enough looper to run it.

Yes! Exactly. Not enough killers to go round. Matchmaking is most likely working as intended.
Not enough killers? I wonder why?
Could it be
the string of killer nerfs,
the constant changes to make it easier for new survivors
the removal of early game pressure for anyone not playing the top 3,
the OPness of toolboxes
and the list of killer bugs yet to be fixed after months.
Maybe all that has something to do with it :P

Not camp and tunnel, so that people may actually want to continue playing the game.
I also believe that it skews the dev's statistics, so they may not actually be able to balance the game properly with tampered results.
The problem i see with your statement is your making it sound like the killers are the only ones who are ruining the game. Do people stop and ask why killers tunnel and camp? Some are actually ######### but most are doing it because the survivors bring every perk/item in the book and finish the match in 4 minutes. This game is not balanced at all and no amount of git gud or pressure gens will fix whats broken.

I have had my enjoyment of the game ruined enough times as killer that i really do not care what the game is like for them.
I am an adult and i play a mean killer who throws people on hooks and sometimes gets schooled by them.
If you dont want to be the mean bad ass killer then go and play mario cart, i guess. Better yet do a dance with the 4 survs at the exit gate for your 20 seconds of fun as they forget about you 5 seconds later.
I dont play to win. I play to kill.
+1
I think Tyde said it best.
"I am the killer. I am going to kill you. It is my objective and I will do everything in my power to accomplish that" or something along those lines.

They need to stop making it easier for newbies period. This makes the good red rank survivors stronger and breaks the game.
And it sucks for killer at ALL ranks now. I came back from a long break. Deranked back to 18 and most of my matches all I'm seeing are red/purple ranks.
