I mean somone rage quit because I was chasing a cludette around the shack and another died in the basement as well because the cludette decided to loop and not lead me away from it
and I bet they called you a camper in the end game chat? Never mind the fact the person you were chasing was looping you right on top of the basement.

His detection mechanic needs improving, he shouldn't be able to stand in the open and keep rapidly crouching and remain completely undetected, not to mention sometimes he can fill up like 50% of your screen and it still doesn't work properly.
His addons are also really bad, he has quite literally 3/4 good ones
I don't understand why so many people complain about his detection. I have no trouble kicking him out of stealth and survivors I face certainly have no trouble kicking me out of it.
@NightmareKiller said:
Could swear he's played less than Demogorgon. His addons are awful, his power recovery is trash, he gets revealed extremely fast, etc.
But the one who gets a buff is Demo and the killer people want buffed is Pig (despite her being able to kill an slow down the game just fine, as Ghostface you're still gonna have 5 gens done by the time you find someone)
If you want to go off "whose plated the least" I think that's Nurse. Does that mean we should buff the strongest killer in the game >.>

I usually save BPS for double bp events. Survivor pudding and escape cakes on the other hand I use those all the time. Paired with BBQ or WGLF for maximum effect.

I mean, I don't have a PS5 if I manage to snag one, so I'm hoping for better optimization on next gen consoles.I'm pretty sure that want happen for PS4 or XB1

I understand that lol

Haha probably.
No one should have to buy a next gen console to be able to play the game as intended. It should work on whatever platform it releases on. I feel the console version was nothing but a cash grab and cross progression only became a thing so PC players had quicker que times.
-
I think a better solution would be to make the console version work as well as the PC version. If they can't do that then maybe the game should have stayed PC only if it's such an unfair advantage.

Agreed. Most people complaining about it probably weren't around when it use to apply to both the unhooked and the rescuer. Compared to those days, the perk is in a good spot now.

When PH was coming out people on the forums had me convinced it was Candyman and we were wrong. No matter the evidence, I won't believe who the killer is until they get here.

That's what makes me nervous. I don't want the game to die. I'm sure they're aware of the issues. They have to be.
I'm sure they are aware and that's what worries me. This game being their only cash cow you'd think they would take better care of it. What else are they going to make money off of? Death Garden :P
-
Personally I think this game needs a crisis that causes the player basis to dip into the hundreds. Only then when it's on the verge of death will they stop producing half baked new content and focus on game health. If the crisis causes the game to actually die well it had a good run.
-
TL:DR
I remember when BT used to apply to both the hooked survivor and the one who made the rescue. I do not miss those days. I feel the perk is fine.
-
I thought it was something about being thrown throw a window when her father tried to kill her. There was something about that in her bio. Although the excessive amount of DS's is funnier :P
-
I'll sometimes run head on/lithe with Q&Q. The perk I want to nominate is Q&Q. Once in awhile when I am vaulting a window it actually jukes the killer. Were looping a tall structure, I break LoS, I quiet vault the window and because they don't hear anything. The killer thinks I double backed.

Ok, imagine you're playing custom mode, with friends, are you gonna camp and tunnel them? Or is it a pre game rule to even stop using BT or DS cause the "no camping, no tunneling" is pre stablished?
Ok, now, what's the difference between not camping or tunneling your friends vs doing it to strangers? So... Yes... There are other people besides you in the game... I'm not telling you to shoot your own foot if you're doing good, but more like playing wiht "fair" or "socially accurate" gameplay.
Now, the point of my post is not for you to stop tunneling, camping, gen trushing, etc. but to let people know it's ok to do so, it's a gamestyle, a dick move gamestyle, but it is allowed by the devs, not punishable, not bannable, be my guest,
If I was in a custom game my friends expect me to do the same to them as I do to randoms. They extend me the same courtesy. You are asking people to play the way you want because you are not having fun. You did not buy my copy of the game so your idea of how I should play means nothing to me.

Some people just cant control themselves, its unfortunate the other survivors are punished because of someone else tantrum, but sometimes the killers show mercy when there's a dc especially early and take it easy.
When a survivor quits for no good reason I'm 50/50 about going easy on the others.
It sucks for the other 3 but it's not my fault that person DCed. If they still stand a chance of winning I'll play normally. If it's like a "no possible way to win" scenario I might farm with them. Ultimately I submit a report to the person who quit because I find it unsportsmanlike. Unless there's a legit reason for quitting but 99% of the time I see people DC when they get caught. Which leads me to believe their reason is selfish.

I dont agree with this simply because something being hard to play doesnt mean its balanced. If there was some super complex puzzle that would have to be extremely precise but made whoever did it instantly win would be bs, Just because something is hard to do doesnt mean its fair and thats my opinion on Nurse.
So someone who practiced a lot at something shouldn't be good at it? Should we make Wayne Brady play football with 1 arm tied behind his back to give other quarterbacks a better chance?
-
I think I remember the devs saying years ago the reason most of their killers are humanoid is because of physics. If something is a different shape than another killer it may not interact properly. Like there could be a spot where a humanoid killer could fit through but a monster one might get stuck on something. This was all before they introduced Demo. They also said they would never add a clown killer because real people are afraid of clowns. So who knows.

Do any of you see killer DCs? I've had that happen a couple times and can only assume that it's because of a lost connection. It seems weird to me that a killer would ragequit.
I've seen it happen but very rarely. It could be that there's 4 survivors for every killer that it just feels like survivors DC more often. I've had killers quit because they failed to get a hook by the time 3 gens popped. I've seen killers quit because ruin was found. I had 1 bubba rage quit because he was chasing me for a good while. He got close, sprinted with his chainsaw and somehow I dropped a pallet perfectly to stun him without his chainsaw breaking it.
-
This concepts do exist and are actually allowed and not punishable, BUT, it's a matter of respect in terms of gaming, you can either play "correctly" caring for other people's experience, or just be a dick about it.
The last time I checked. The only persons gaming experience I was responsible for was my own. That's what it boils down to. If I am playing poorly it is on me. If I am performing exceptional I am not going to shoot myself in the foot so my opponent can make a come back. Your fun is no ones concern but your own. This is a game where 2 sides are pitted against one another. Someone wins and someone loses. That is why it's called a game. If the objective is for everyone to have fun that's how you get crap like participation trophies.
-
I'm sure a lot of survivor mains will argue with me but I say Nurse. My reason being is her high skill ceiling. Yes she breaks the game when played at god tier but that person practiced their ass off to get to that lvl. Your not going to pick up Nurse and start 4king actual red survivors. IMO the majority of people who complain about Nurse actually suck at the game. ALL they know how to do is loop and when that 1 trick doesn't work they scream OP! Good survivors know she is really strong but she can still be beaten. You need to put a lot of time into her to get that good. I think of Nurse as a good Widowmaker player in overwatch. In that game unless your really good at sniping you are almost dead weight for your team. If you put that many hours into that character you deserve your spot.
-
I've had people DC because they were the first person to be found. My favorite DCer is the one that grabs my attention with a flashlight, fails a mind game, gets hooked, gets saved, grabs my attention again, gets downed AGAIN, uses DS, steps in a trap and quits. Like seriously, you came to me. Why did you do that?
-
I actually prefer the new BT to the old one. It was a pain to make saves against a Freddy. Then there was the occasional wraith that hooked someone, cloaked and stood there. Just waiting for the save so they can tunnel the unhooked to death. As for 12 seconds. I feel it's long enough. If you needed 15 secs of endurance then your teammate probably made a bad save.

I didn't kill any of them and they still complained about the game
Then they were just asshats.

SWF has no right to complain about anything in this game. They were just salty they lost. Keep playing Oni.

@Reinami said:
MMR is going to do one of 2 things, and it entirely depends on how the devs react to it.
It is pretty clear to anyone who has played this game for a long period of time. That if you were to take the 4 best survivor players in the world, and pit them against the best killer player in the world for each killer. The only one who stands a chance is Nurse, and MAYBE spirit. The reason for this is simple. The game was made with the idea that it is a "hide and seek" game, where survivors don't want to be found. Then it became apparent how strong looping was in this game with all of the infinites. Since then, there are no more infinites, but basic math will tell you that survivors can waste far too much of a killer's time allowing all the gens to get done. Literally by just holding W and running in the opposite direction. No pallets, no windows, no looping, no nothing. A survivor can waste 46 seconds of a killer's time assuming the killer doesn't have a power that can counter holding W, like spirit or nurse. Now when you factor in optimal looping and pallet usage, it becomes extremely difficult. The survivors can just waste too much time.
Against solo queue survivors, the game is tilted too far in the favor of the killer. If survivors DON'T play optimally, they are going to lose most of the time. We all have experienced it, the guy self caring in the corner of the map. The people urban evading when the killer is on the opposite side of the map in a chase, the survivors who just waste shack pallet immediately. Most Survivors typically don't play efficiently, and they play more "immersed" and are "afraid" of the killer, so they tend to try and hide, and not repair generators as much as they could because they are worried the killer might show up. They often hide until they know the killer is chasing someone else, wasting precious seconds in the early game that are so crucial to winning.
The average player, killers are too strong.
The highest level play, survivors are too strong, especially SWF.
The dev's red rank stats prove that its not even a red rank vs others thing. In red ranks, nurse is the lowest kill rate killer in the game. It is pretty clear, red ranks don't really mean anything.
Now, because the devs are very data focused, we can assume one of the following 3 things about how the devs are looking at this problem.
1) The devs know this is a problem, and don't care
2) The devs know this is a problem, and don't know how to fix it
3) The devs don't know this problem exists.
Now let's imagine a world where MMR becomes a thing. When it happens, you will see a few things happen. Matches will get more fun and balanced for everyone on average, for a while. However, because MMR is tied to killer, the top level survivors will only ever go against nurse and spirit every single game since they are the only ones who can compete at that MMR. Eventually those players start to get bored of the game, and will quit. Then, as the number of high level survivors dwindles, queue times get longer, and in order to match people, lower level survivors get matched with those top level nurse and spirit mains. Given that those survivors already are brushing that line where killers are OP for them, they won't be able to handle it. And eventually it will spiral out of control.
Now, when MMR happens, they will be able to see from the data that only nurse and spirit are able to compete at high MMR, they will have data that proves this. Additionally, they will have data that proves that the average survivor can't handle most killers, this comes back to the 3 points i mentioned before.
1) If the devs know this is a problem, and don't care, then the data will show there is a problem and they won't be able to ignore it. If they continue to ignore the data, then they go back on their ideas and methods of using data to make decisions. Because the data is showing them a clear problem, and ignoring it and doing nothing, would be extremely hypocritical. Eventually people will catch on, and it will cause some problems. If they don't ignore it, then they start fixing the problem, and the game gets much better for every one.
2) If the devs know this is a problem, and don't know how to fix it, they will now have more granular data that will allow them to better see what exactly is going on. They might start being able to identify these top players and ask them what they feel the problems are. The hope there, is that with MMR it will allow them to better see the discrepancies between the levels. They will see what solo average survivors are doing wrong, and be able to make changes to that. They will be able to see what high level SWF tryhard survivors are doing and nerf those aspects that make them too strong. Hopefully leading to a better game.
3) If the devs don't know the problem exists, the data will now make it clear that the problem exists and they can start working on fixing it.
The reality is, depending on the reason this problem has existed for so long, that will dictate what the result of MMR will be and what their attitudes toward it will be.
Personally, i am optimistic that it will ultimately make this game much better. The devs will either, finally see the problem, figure out how to solve the problem, or stop ignoring the problem, and will finally fix things. That is my personal prediction.
good post. I however feel there is a 4th option.
4) The devs are aware, they don't care and are more concerned with cranking out chapters to keep the game going a bit longer.
Literally the last 2 killers were garbage. The PTB even showed this and they launched them anyway. I have no hope for the RE chapter just because it's licensed and their new game just came out. This feels too much like they are hoping on the band wagon to rake in some cash while the game is popular. The problems with the game have been around for a long time. Yet instead of fixing these issues they keep announcing new content. While I agree a game needs new content to keep people interested. This game is LONG overdue for a health chapter that never comes. The devs release a new chapter that is broken at launch, people buy it anyway and it gives off the impression the game is doing well. At least for 2 weeks when people realize how the latest chapter introduced more bugs.
I feel the way the devs have been handling the issues with MM this game flat lined a long time ago but it's being momentarily resuscitated by dlc. It's like a hospital patient lost an arm in an accident. Instead of closing the wound, which is what should be done. The doctor is focusing all their efforts on pumping blood into the patient to keep them alive. Completely neglecting the fact the blood is exiting the body as fast as it goes in. In this case the patient is a metaphor for the game. The severed arm is all the glaring issues with the game. The doc is the devs and the blood keeping it alive is half baked chapters.

I would tell survivors to adapt. Camping+tunneling have numerous counters. They either
A: are unaware of said counters
B: don't feel like doing them
C: suck at the game

I feel Devour Hope sets the standard for what all hex perks should be. High risk, high reward. I can think of a few hex perks that have high risk and next to no reward.

Truth be told. I don't expect the RE chapter and the 5 year anniversary to line up. Watch RE be delayed for some reason and the anniversary "event" will be login rewards.
-
No matter what system they put in. When it comes to MM they will favor faster que times. That means killer will always get the short end of the stick.
-
I mostly ignore the end game chat and move onto the next game. The one thing I don't understand is when they open my steam profile and post something on one of my screenshots for a completely different game. I read these comments and I'm like "I don't even remember who you are. Do you really have nothing better to do than to yell at someone who beat you? Enjoy your ban"
-
If we had an actual ranking system these survivors might not be making wild claims about balance. They hit red rank and they assume they must be good when in reality they shouldn't have left yellow.
-
"Do they even have a Q&A team?
No, they don't need one because we work for free -.-

I hate how easy it is to find a key in a chest during a game but I love it when people in the lobby have one. That tells me to bring franklins and once they drop that thing most try to go back for it. Often leading to an easy down. It's like Golem from lord of the rings
"Lost!!! My precious is lost!!!!!!!"
-
Unless it's the rare occurrence where I know someone in the lobby is hacking/toxic, I don't dodge lobbies. I simply adjust my perks.
4 keys=franklins
Several medkits=sloppy+Nurse's Calling
-
Id probably revert the rework to hex ruin. The new ruin rewards killers for applying pressure but not all killers are good at that. Old ruin at least bought you time because it actually slowed down gens. M1 killers with no mobility have a hard time getting use out of current ruin. Besides ruin didn't have much affect at higher ranks because good survivors hit great skill checks. So this rework was just to cater to newbies.

-
I think I got this achievement without realizing it. It wasn't something I was actively striving for. It just sort of happened while I was playing the game.
-
When I was playing Nurse this was "one" of my least favorite maps to play as her because of the corn. Now it is "the" least favorite for me.
-
I don't think rank can ever be fixed to where the game would be playable. The learning curve is very steep and the skill gap is wide. If we had a real ranking system where people were judged by their skill instead of their playtime, the matches would be more balanced. However the que times would make the game unplayable. Look at the current MM. Your thrown against any and everything. It's because the game can't find people of similar rank. If we had a true MM system it would take over 30 mins to find 5 people of matching rank. Given how often people disconnect every time they face a spirit, they get found first, they miss their DS ect. If people had to wait 30 mins to get into a match that lasted 2 mins the game might actually die for once.

Sadly my face has that problem. What I have come to call the male equivalent of resting bi$#h face. When I am making no expressions, the way my face rests, it looks like I'm pissed off. When I am at work or in public I am consciously lifting my eye brows so I don't have a glaring expression. When I am relaxed I look like someone in front of a line up :P
