I have said before In other threads. The devs do favor survivors. It makes business sense. You cater to your majority. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. You want to make the game easier for them. If they feel like they have more power they will continue playing. They will bring their friends, they will buy cosmetics. It just makes business sense.
Think about this as well. We all know swf is an advantage, especially if they are on comms. You should not be punished for wanting to play with your friends, BUT it is an advantage. The devs have given the killers nothing to compensate for the communication and coordination the survivors get.
I have no idea how they could balance it. But in my total play time as both killer and survivor I feel so much more at ease and just breeze through as a survivor. At the end of the day BHVR is out to make money. Do ot by catering to your majority.

From an economical stand point it makes for the devs to have a bias toward survivors. 4 wallets vs 1 wallet after all. When they make QoL improvements to killer I can't help but think it is to keep those survivor queues short.
This Is exactly right. In any business you want to cater to the majority. The majority of dbd is survivors. It's 4 to 1. The devs need to make the game easier for that side.
If the game is easier then they will Qin more often. That will in turn make them bring their friends to the game and play swf on top of that more cosmetics to buy as well.
It just makes business sense to do it. Think about this. Swf is an advantage especially with comms. Have the devs givin the killer anything at all to compensate for that? Honestly think about that. You should not be punished for playing with friends but it is an advantage.
-
BT in my opinion is made to deter the killer from going after the person just unhooked. As a killer main I will tell you this. If you have BT and you body block me from chasing the unhooker... I will tunnel you down and wait out your DS.
Don't weaponize a defensive perk.
-
I feel the need to chime in. I am or should I say was a killer main. I streamed the game and for the longest time this was my go to game to stream.
I have played since Myers came out. I have been through the ups and downs the nerfs and the buffs. I have seen numerous things. Over all of it I have seen a very steady shift in the game leaning towards one side.
The boon totems are what finally made me say, ok enough is enough. Along with the Slinger and spirit nerf. I get that as a business you need to cater to your majority, but there is another side that plays.
I can give so many examples of the one sidedness, but this post would be too long. Let's take SWF as an example. Swf on comms is an advantage. I understand alot of it is people just having fun with friends and that you should not be punished for it. Ask yourself this tho, have the devs givin anything to the killer to compensate for the advantage? No they have not.
At the end of the day, the survivors do not fear the killer at all. They hold most of the advantages. The game is skewed in their favor, but again... it's good business. BHVR is like Mr. Krabs. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!
I had alot of fun playing this game. I hope you all still do. For those that stepped away, I get it. Good luck to you all 😃

because you have to entertain people who brings them money. enjoy!
This is exactly why. In any business you need to cater to the majority. BHVR does this well. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. Survivor players buy more cosmetics, they bring in their friends to play with them, in turn they buy cosmetics etc.. it's a snowball effect.
If the game is too hard for the survivors they will not want to play as much. They will not bring in friends. It just makes business sense.
They know people will play killer. They have too many good licensed killers. People will play them. They know that.
Swf is an advantage. People should not be punished for playing with friends. However it IS an advantage. Have they givin the killers anything to compensate for that? No they have not. I'm not sure what they could do but at least do something.
This game shows it favors one side over the other, but again it makes business sense. When your company is about making money it makes sense. It sucks, but what can we do?
-
I feel the need to chime in.
I hear the people saying they should not be punished for wanting to play with their friends even on comms. I agree. They should not be punished for that.
However, on the opposite side of the coin, should killers be punished for you wanting to play with your friends? Sure some swf are just friend's chilling etc.. some are not.
The killers are givin nothing to compensate for the coordination swf have. They are just expected to git gud. I do not know what could be done to make it more fair and balanced.
I do feel that either side should be compensated. For example. If a killer goes against a swf they get something to compensate, don't know what...BP, Shards etc.. and if a survivor goes solo while with a swf group they should get something as well.
Again, I have no idea what would work best. I just feel that regardless, people should not be punished for playing with their friends. But killers should be givin something to make up for it. Just my 2 cents.
-
I am of the mind they should gut the entire meta perk line, for killers as well as survivors. Take em all away. Nerf them into the ground. Make us play different builds.
We rely on the perks that help us win. I get it. I know the entire community would be up in arms about that kind of gutting. However, I feel that eventually people would adapt and learn to play around it.
Then we would see different builds etc. I think BHVR also needs to change the game fundamentally. If they would do that I think we could get a better product.
As it stands they want to favor survivors. Survivors outnumber killers four to one. It makes business sense. Cater to your majority. Survivors can bring in their friends to play. They will buy the cosmetics. Sure killers will as well, not as much as survivors tho.
If the survivors perceive the game as being easy they will stay and bring friends and spend. If they think the game is too hard they won't play. It just makes business sense. Cater to the majority.
-
I have said all along. This game favors the survivors. But it makes sense from a business perspective.
Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. Survivors can bring in their friends to play swf. They buy more cosmetics, they buy more addon packs.
You need the game to be easier on them. If they perceive the game as being to hard they won't stay and bring friends and spend.
Killers do spend as well. Just not on the same level. It's standard business. Cater to your majority.
They would never admit it, we may not like it, but it's a sound business practice.
-
As a player of both sides I get sick of the meta on both sides.
Killer: dead hard, ds, unbreakable, spine chill, iron will etc..
Survivor Ruin, Pop, noed, corrupt. Undying etc .
I would love for them to gut the meta on both sides. Nerf all the meta perks into oblivion.
-
A Robert Englund skin for Freddy
Also a Vamperilla outfit for Jane.
Take my money now.
-
As a killer main since I started playing this game when Myers came out. I can tell you the most important things you need are: 1. Tracking Perks and 2. Gen Defense. Those will serve you well.
On most of my killers I run a basic build. It changes depending on the killer I am using. But a great basic load out is.
1:BBQ and Chili. Tracking and bonus BP.
2: Discordance. It takes a solo survivor about 80 seconds to do a gen. Now if you have 2 on a gen it can be 40 seconds or so givin perks and toolboxes etc. It let's you know where 2 survivors are.
3:Pop goes the weasel. Gen defense. Hook someone kick their Gen regress 25% and it keeps regressing till they touch it.
4: can be interchangeable dependent on killer used. I find that Corrupt Intervention is good to heard the survivors more towards you. But you could replace with save the best if your using someone like nemesis so it can change.
That's my standard build and it works well for most killers.
-
I am dreading it. I feel with each patch they make survivors stronger and stronger. I understand the need to make it easier for them. It's standard business. Cater to the majority.
Survivors outnumber killers. You have swf. They need easier games. The more survivors win they will be more inclined to get their friends to buy the game. That's more for BHVR with chapters and cosmetics.
Think about this. SWF does indeed have an advantage. Have they given killers anything to compensate them for the level of communication they get. No they have not. I don't feel anyone should be punished for wanting to play with friends.
I feel that the killer should be compensated in some way. However that is I do not know. With boon totems I feel the the level of coordination the survivors will be able to use will make them even stronger. The killer is supposed to be the Power role. It just does not feel that way to me now.
-
Didn't they know that the twins were broken and we told them in PTB and they released them in that state anyway? I'm pretty sure they did.
-
It's terrible. I have had numerous games in a row that this happens. It really robs the killer. Also, they have yet to fix grabs. There was a guy unhooking I caught up to him and initiated the grab. It showed the grab animation then he was unharmed and still got the unhook.
Of course no survivors are going to complain its a free escape.
-
It makes me feel like this sometimes.
-
This please
-
I am a killer main. I have near to 3000 hours in the game. I main A few killers. I was playing doc who I play alot. I should have very high MMR. I load into the lobby on PC. I check profiles.
There was a survivor with no joke. 3 hours. 3 hours. I let him go you could tell he was super new. After the match I asked him if he really was new. He said yes he just got the game eariler in the day.
How if MMR is active and working did that guy get in my lobby? The rest of the team was decent. Oh and he was solo as well.
Point being, I do not think MMR is working. I think BHVR slapped it in and said, working as intended. Just so they could put everyone together and not worry about matchmaking
They are not very transparent with us as a community. I think if they just talked to us more we would be more inclined to be lenient with them.
Just my opinion tho.
-
My choice. Would love to control the sentinel spheres. Imagine Reggie as the survivor. The mori would be awesome.
-
I played 2 matches. Match crashed both games while playing pinhead. That sucks.
-
If I remember correctly, they added the rush forward animation to show that dead hard was used. Before you would swing and it would go though the survivor.
I think they unintentionally buffed if by giving it a dash forward animation. If they wanted to make a visual tell that it got used they should add a lean to the side animation.
Then it would look like you dodged the hit and it would not give you distance.
At least I think I remember that's why they added it. I could be miss remembering it.
-
In the red ranks it's predominantly used for getting distance. I hardly ever see it used to avoid a hit. It extends loops and they make it to a pallet or window.
It takes 80 seconds for a gen to get done solo. 50ish if 2 or more are on it. Killer is on a time crunch. The longer you can extend the chase the more can get done by teammates.
That's what makes dead hard so useful in the higher ranks. It is also good for avoiding a hit if you can time it right and your not on console where it won't work lol.
-
I would change dead hard. Remove the dash forward animation. Keep the I frames. To show visually that it was used the survivor leans to the side, showing the dodge.
-
Robert Englund Freddy skin.
Vamperilla cosplay costume for Jane. (Seriously, go look up Vamperilla and picture Jane in that outfit ) I would pay 50. Easy for those cosmetics.
-
But if it was, we could not see him.
-
I hope they will reskin the map. Perhaps change it up. Make it like the asylum in Hellraiser or.something along those lines.
Someone even suggested a music studio for shi errr Trickster. It could work. At least it would not go to waste.
I hope they do something like that.
-
As a killer main I look at it this way. They play a cornfield offering, rpd etc.. I just deal with it. I hate those maps.
The difference is, even tho I dislike those maps I DO like a challenge. So I chose to play it. Imagine not wanting a challenge in a video game. If you don't want a challenge go play hello kitty island adventure or Hatioful Boyfriend.
The game is too random. You may get sweat lords or scratched mirror. Just play the game and do your best. Who knows how the match may go, but if you don't want challenge in a video game then you need to play something easy.
-
Swf have an advantage if they are on comms which most are. I feel the killer should be at least compensated in some way for it.
I don't know how. Nothing overly game changing but at least compensation in some form.
For example, if the killer brings the perk Knocknout its mostly negated by the comms. Hey guys I am down at the killer shack come get me. Hey guys the killer is chasing me, finish that gen. Solos would hear a close heartbeat, if they did not know someone was being chased they might get off the gen.
So comms does give an advantage and the killer gets nothing to compensated for it. I do not feel like survivors should be punished for wanting to play with friends. I just feel it should be more balanced.
-
Imagine this but it's dbd. I don't think fnaf fits in dbd. It's clearly marketed for kids. I get enough salt at the end of matches. Don't need the 10 year old warriors in chat as well.
I get the appeal of the story. If Fnaf comes in then it will attract kids as well. Game is not made for kids.
-
Also. Even if they are Injured and infected and the zombie downs them inside the exit gate, by the time you get there they will most likely have crawled out.
Best nemesis add-ons in my opinion are the ones that give you more mutation hitting the zombies.
-
Honestly, if you look at each match as. Well, I lost oh well. Or cool I won oh well. Gg and move on to the next one you will have so much more fun and relaxing games.
This game is too random. There are way to many variables that change your game. You can have amazing matches where you dominate either side. Then you get matches where you get demolished both sides.
Your gonna get camped, tunneld, tbagged, looped, flashlight stunned, annoying killers annoying survivors. At the end of the day.... who cares? It's just a game. Win some lose some.
Gg and move on to the next. Don't get so upset. I guarantee you will have more fun.
-
I see 5 year Olds wearing FNAF clothes. Having themed parties around it. Dbd is not meant to be a kids game.
I can't imagine kids wearing plague t-shirts or buying blight lunch boxes. How about those twins plushies? Just doesn't work for me.
Freddys might have some good lore. A lot of it is marketed towards kids. You put it out it's gonna bring kids into the game. I get enough salt after matches. Don't need the 10 year old chat warriors showing up. Just my opinion.
-
The main problem with dead hard is not the invincibility frames. It's the distance. They added the distance animation as a way to visually see that dead hard was used.
The side effect was it gave extra distance in a chase. That should have not happened. In the red ranks it's not used so much to avoid a hit but to gain distance.
If they want a way to show it was dead hard that dodged the hit they can make an animation of a side dodge. Like you lean to one side really quickly. It shows the killer that they did not hit cause of dead hard and the survivor avoids the hit and has the I frame.
I would be ok with that. Just remove the rush forward. Change it to a side step ot a leaning to one side dodge. Easy.
-
For me as a killer main I ignore all clicks, tbag attempts etc to get my attention. If you really want me to go after you just bodyblock for the unhooker if you have BT.
I will for sure break off and count to 12 and I will wait for the DS timer as well. BT is designed as an incentive for the killer to go after the unhooker. You use it as a weapon, well your going back on the hook.
-
I as a killer main will not tunnel off the hook. Sometimes a tunnel can work depending on the situation, but again it's rare I would do it.
However.... if you get unhooked with BT and you know I am going after the unhooker and you body block me. I will wait the 12 seconds and get you. I will also wait out the DS timer as well.
BT is meant to deter the killer from coming after you off the hook. Let your friend/ unhooker rely on their skill to run the killer. Don't bodyblock for them. You do, your getting the hook.

Again; DCing is not a 'weapon of the wronged'.
It's the tool of a toddler flipping the table because they're losing. DCers are selfish babies who can't accept losing, so they invent excuses & blame everyone but themselves while they quit the game.
Rofl 'Weapon of the wrong'. How deluded.
I could not agree more. DC on either side is you being an entitled butt munch. If its a legit reason, bug or emergency I can support it. However, if it's just. (Whiney voice for comedic effect) I don't like the killer, I don't like the map, oh they tbagged me, oh they camped me, oh they looped me or downed me first. I'm quitting!
Then you are an entitled butt munch. You win some games you lose some games. Just suck it up buttercup. That goes for both sides.
Remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
I would be interested as well. Killer main all day long. Got a lot of hours as well. Lemme know.
-
I had very limited play time today as I had to go to work. I played killer. It took me over 5 minutes to get a match.
I load into it and start hunting. Soon as I down first person they DC. I was only able to play 4 games before work. And in each and everyone someone DC.
We all just farmed after that. It ruined the game for everyone. I understand legit DC for emergencies and your game really crashing. Please, if you are going to play do not DC if you don't like map, killer, survivors, flashlights etc. Just play the game. If you lose you lose. You win you win.
Just please don't DC cause you don't like something or you were found first or you lost 3 gens before a hook.
-
I will start by saying this. This game is to random to think you will win almost every game. Sometimes you get against great players. Sometimes you go against potatoes.
There is no rule book. Play the way you want. Killer or survivor. Want to camp, tunnel, tbag, click etc.. do it. We need to remember at the end of the day it's just a game.
I find I have the most fun when I just don't care win or lose. Look at it as like playing a scratch off ticket 🎟. You go into the store, you buy it and scratch it off. Your having fun while scratching it. If you don't win its like well I did not win oh well. You get 5 bucks and are like cool I won 5.
I know we all want to win the game, but honestly, is it that big of a deal if you don't? Just either say gg and move on or just move on.
Remember folks. Win and lose with dignity.
-
As a killer main I never use Noed. I would be completely fine with it being removed. However if they were to remove Noed to compensate I would love it if they removed dead hard.
That's a perk that also rewards bad game play. You make a mistake you won't make it to that loop. Press E and you win.
I feel its the same as Noed. At least Noed can be stopped by cleansing totems. Dead Hard not so much.
-
My grandmaster had a saying in martial arts when it came to anything competitive where you could win or lose.
He said to us, "You can never win everything all the time. Nor will you lose all the time. What matters most, is winning or losing with dignity and honor. "
That has always stuck with me. That's how I chose to play. I will always say gg regardless of outcome. Camped, tunneld, tbagged, looped it does not matter. This game is too random to think you can win every game.
Remember my friends. At the end of the day it's just a game.
-
Even so, it is an advantage to have communication in this game. SWF are mostly friends having fun. I don't mind facing them. All I want is for the survivors to admit that they have an advantage over the killer because of comms.
As a killer I bring knock out. It's rendered useless against a swf on comms. Hey, I am down at the killer shack come get me. The killer gets nothing to compensate that advantage. That is my major issue.
-
I agree. I will dodge the lobby. I do it as a way to protest. They shadow nerfed moris, but they left keys the same. As my way of saying I dont agree with that I will not play a game if I see a key.
If you find one in game and I see you with one in your hand I will go after you and try to get you out of the game asap.
I don't really tunnel for them. One of the main reasons I will tunnel you is if you try to use borrowed time to block me from hitting your unhooker. I will wait out the 12 seconds for borrowed as well as the DS timer.
Keys are definitely trouble tho.
-
I will definitely go after the bodyblocker. BT is meant to avoid being tunneled off the hook. If you purposely get in my way I will go after you instead. Best take the 12 secs to run away. I will take the chance to eat a DS.
-
They will probably change keys when they add in the start game collapse or slowdown they talked about many moons ago.
-
I am a killer main. I have a standard build I like to run. Its not meta per se but the 2 things killers need are 1: Tracking and 2: Gen Defense. In my opinion this is.
Bbq, discordance, corrupt and pop. I find that these help me alot. On certain killers I find I can switch one or 2 out depending on the killer.
Survivors mostly rely on 2nd chance meta perks. I play alot of different hours. After every match I make sure to look at the perks and ranks. Its amazing to me that most of the reds and say 7 to red use a lot of meta.
You don't see as many in the green area of ranks. There definitely needs to be some sort of slowdown at the beginning of the match. If you find a good looping survivor first they can waste 80 seconds of your time. If 3 other survivors are on gens you pretty much lose 2 to 3 gens quickly.
The devs tend to cater to the survivors. They need to make the game easier for them. The survivors buy cosmetics, they play with their friends, they bring others into the game. It makes sense from a business perspective. Cater to your majority. They can't make it overly easy but enough where the survivors have an advantage.
As a killer you make 1 or 2 mistakes you can lose the match. Survivors can make numerous mistakes and still win. Tack on the unfair advantage swf gets from communicating through coms and it is even harder.
Best advice I give. Never care if you win or lose both sides. The game is too random to win every time. Just say gg and move on.
Remember folks. Win and lose with dignity. After all, it's just a game.
-
I know it will never happen, but I would like for them to announce a separate swf que and a solo que for killers and survivors. So if killer or survivors don't want to go up against or.play with a swf they don't have to.
Oh and also the start game collapse. They talked about. Making the early game stall. Yah that's about it. Pipe dream I know.
-
I think nemesis makes sense. He is one of the most recognized faces from RE. He appeals to the classic RE gamers and will appeal to the fans of the Remake.
People say a rocket launcher or mini gun won't work in dbd. I am inclined to agree. However I know the devs once considered a killer with a flamethrower.
Nemesis did have one at one point. It might make like fire trails like Pyramid Head or something. Lots of possibilities. It just would not make sense to make the killer from the newer games in my opinion.
I personally want Nemesis is the game.
-
For me it's really simple. Remove the rush forward from dead hard. I hate Dead Hard when used for distance. It took more skill to time it as the killer swings. Now it's just a brain dead hit E to get to a pallet or window.
-
I think nemesis would fit well. Even with no rocket launcher. I seem to recall them wanting to do a flamethrower killer at some point. I know he used a flamethrower before. That and his tentacle could be his M1 weapon.
So they could make it work. Like he could burn pallets and breakable walls etc. Perhaps have a similar mechanic like pyramid head. With flame trials etc.
I think that he is more recognizable than Mr X or Lady D. Mr. X looks like he would fit as well for how they design. I just feel nemesis would look much better and feel more fun to play then a monster in a trench coat with a hat. Just my opinion tho.
-
The devs need to cater to their majority. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. The survivors are the ones that buy the cosmetics. They play swf. They bring in their friends. I know killers buy as well.
It's a business. In business you cater to your majority. If the games are easier for survivors they will stay longer and play more. If its too difficult they will leave and take their friends.
Killer ques are almost instant. Survivors can take up to 10 mins. They know people will still play killer, so they don't care. It shows a big imbalance when most people do not want to play killer cause it can be stressful and not much reward. If you win as killer you get salt from survivors. They feel entitled.
It's pretty bad. Me, I just deal with it. I will play regardless of the changes they make and they know this. Hence, why they don't care.
