In my opinion, I think at the end of the day BHVR is out to make money. If the game feels better for the majority side, i.e. they win more, they get stuff givin to them, they will bring in their friends who will in turn buy cosmetics and packs etc..
The survivors outnumber the killer 4 to 1. In any business you cater to your majority. It just makes business sense. As far as I'm concerned, I play the game and do the best I can, win or lose. I may not agree with BHVRs choices all the time. I still enjoy the game and chose to play it.
-
I'm a killer main all day long. During the event, I play to 2 hook everyone. Get people the maximum amount of BP and cosmetics. I just enjoy the game. Win or lose, it does not matter.
We have to remember, at the end of the day, no matter what role in DBD we play, we are gamers. We should come together and take care of each other.
I know that's a perfect world scenario, but for me, I chose to play that way. If I can bring a fun challenging game, then I'm down for that.
I hope you all have good games out there!
-
Had alot of fun watching Puppers. He was always entertaining and friendly. A real gamer for gamers. Rest in peace Puppers.
-
Puppers was always a source of fun and very entertaining to watch. A very genuine guy and the world will be a sadder place without him.
Prayers, thought and all things positive to him and his family. Thank you for the fun and memories!
-
I personally don't care if I win or lose. It's rhe nature of a game. You win some you lose some. Occasionally you can tie sure.
I just do what I can. I can't control my opponents. They should play the way they want to they paid for the game. I should not expect them to play the way I would like them to. As long as the don't cheat.
I play to the situation. If I lose I just say gg and move on to the next game. This game is way too random to think I can win every time.
Remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
Imo the game will always favor survivors. It makes sense from a business perspective. You cater to your majority.
Survivors buy more cosmetics, they bring their friends in to play who in turn buy more cosmetics amd expansions etc...
Sure killers do as well. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. If the game is easier for them and they feel the win more they will keep playing. Keep playing and keep paying.
It just makes business sense. Think about this. Swf is an advantage (especially with comms) the killer is givin nothing to compensate for that level of coordination and communication. They just have to deal with it.
So the game definitely favors the survivors. That's how BHVR makes the most money. Imo anyaway.
-
In my opinion, I feel that BHVR making the win Conditions for both sides as escapes and kills should be changed.
Chases are more fun for survivors. Getting more hooks as killer makes you feel good as it shows your doing well in the chases.
Make the game more about hooks and chases / helping your team. I feel that while it would not take away camping, tunneling, gen rushing completely. I do feel It would help make the game more fun.
Remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
This is what we expect now
-
The talk has always been, buff solos up to swf levels and then buff killers. Well, now solo has alot more info and its made swf even stronger.
I hope the devs are just waiting for data to come in after the change and they will buff killers accordingly.
I feel they want to favor the survivors as it makes them more money. At this point it's a wait and see. Killer atm is rough. The game is too random to think you can win everytime. I just think some killers suffer more than others.
Remember, win and lose with dignity
-
To all the people saying BHVR favors the survivors because of the ratio, they are correct. I have been saying it for a long time.
In any business you cater to your majority. The survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. They buy more cosmetics and bring in friends who in turn buy more. It's good business.
They buffed the HUD to bring solos up to swf evels. They even state solos don't have enough info and can't call things out to teammates. Now that survivors are stronger, what is the killer getting in compensation?
If the game is easier for the survivors and they win more they will play more and bring in friends. Again, as I and others have said, they are a business. They are out to make money. Cater to your majority.
-
Between 60 to 70% would be good for me. Games too random to think I will win everytime. Killer should be the power role, but survivors should always have a decent chance of escape.
I also think hooks should be the measure not kills. If i get 1k its a loss, 2k a tie, 3 a win. I don't care for a 4k. If I get one cool, if not I still won in my head.
-
I personally as a killer main won't slug for a 4k. I consider a 3k a win. I also will give the last survivor the hatch / door if they don't struggle.
If I am the last survivor, I never struggle. Sometimes I get the hook sometimes they let me go.
Remember just win and lose with dignity.
-
You forgot Forever Freddy. 🤣
-
I play this game like I would a dollar scratch off ticket. I get the ticket. I scratch it. I'm having fun. If I don't win I look at it and go, meh. And toss the ticket.
If I win 2.00 I say cool. I win 2 dollars. I'm not overly excited it's just all good. That way I tend to have the most fun.
Just remember. Play how you want. Just try to win and lose with dignity.
-
I am all for balance in the game. It seems to me that in giving solo players more information that it will hinder killers a bit more.
What I mean by this is, swf has an advantage with communication and coordination. We know that killers are givin no compensation for swf.
Killers are expected to deal with swf. What do you all think they could do to compensate the killer for this buff to solo and the level of coordination of swf? If anything. We need to balance the game. One side with swf has an advantage over the other.
I would like to hear opinions without attacking each side. We are all gamers, no matter what side we play we should stick together to make this game better.
Please, let's discuss some options.
See you in the fog.
-
Swf is unfair to the killer as it negates certain factors of the game.
Examples:
1: Pallet Freddy. Against solos you can get a few surprises on them. A swf just calls out, Fake Pallets guys throw early.
2: Survivor on a gen hears heartbeat. Better move incase. Swf, he is on me stay on the gen.
3: Killer runs knockout. Survivors just say, down at killer shack come get me.
Just some examples of how swf is an advantage.
The killer is givin nothing to compensate for the communication and coordination the swf gets. Now, I admit not every swf is a sweat squad or on comms. However, we have to assume most are.
I don't think separate ques are the way to go. I just wish they would do something. As it stands, swf IS an advantage. The killer is just expected to deal with it.
Just my 2 cents.
Have fun in the fog!
-
I have alot of fun playing this game. The way I have that fun? I don't care if I win or lose. I play the way I want to the best of my abilities.
I win some I lose some. At the end of the day, it's just a game. I may not agree with the current starte of the game. I play it anyway.
Just stop caring about a win or loss and I bet you will have more fun. Just my opinion. 😁
-
I say if you want an easy game where your always winner. Go play Big Rigs. Or perhaps a game like Hello Kitty Island Adventure where the worst thing you might have to worry about is your strawberries freezing or something.
Some games you win, some you lose. Just play it out.
-
I'm my opinion, I feel that from a business perspective they should favor the survivor side. More people play survivor and therefore buy more cosmetics and bring in their friends who in turn buy more.
I do feel that They have been trying to better balance for both sides as of late. I also look at swf. Regardless of what people say, SWF is an advantage. Especially on comms. They have not givin the killer any form of compensation for the info swf can give.
So if you were to put me on the spot I would say that they favor the survivors more. However I understand it from a money making perspective. You cater to your majoriy.
Just my 2 cents.
-
We need a cosplay pack for survivors. Picture Jane In a Vamperilla costume. Take my money now.
-
The cornfield maps can go right to the firey pits. Corn blindness is real people!
-
I would not mind a collaboration with Dungeons and Dragons. Make it a death knight. Glowing black sword, glowing red eyes, blackened armor. Perhaps like Lord Soth.
Always liked that look. We shall see...
-
I play every killer except the hillbilly. I just don't like anything about him. His mechanics his look his control... I would rather play leatherface.
Everyone else I'm good with. Considering I don't care about winning or losing.
-
3 words.
-
I always enjoy dbd. The best way to enjoy this game is to not care if I win or lose. That simple.
I don't get tilted and I don't complain much. The game is too random to think I can win evey game or have good teammates/killers. You will get campers, tunnlers, tbaggers, clicky spam.... just don't care.
I may not agree with changes BHVR make. I still play it anyway. Try not caring about a win or a loss. Im sure you will have more fun.
Remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
I am going to add to this thread. This game is too random. Between maps, swf, killer, add-ons, maps and perks the list goes on and on.
I tell people all the time. Just do the best you can. Play how you want to play. As long as your no cheating. Who cares if you win or lose? That is the very nature of a game. Win some lose some. Sure you may tie here and there.
Thing is, we are all gamers. We Play the game to have fun. If your not having fun play something else for awhile. This game is not the best at being balanced. I do not agree with certain things on either side. I still Play and love the game anyway.
I honestly feel that if we just don't care about a win or a loss we will have a much better time. I know that's not the way for everyone, but try it. Do what you can. You lose or win then GG and move on to the next match.
Remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
I have to chime in. I'm a killer main, I play a good rotation of killers. I still have fun playing any of them regardless of going against swf or solos.
I have fun, because I don't care whether I win or lose. I just do the best I can and play how I want, usually by what the match dictates. This game is too random to think you will win every game or lose every game.
Sure some killers are better than others, sure swf is stronger than solo. At the end of the day, it's just a game. Win some lose some. I get people want to win. I just find I have more fun not caring about that and playing the best I can.
Just remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
I hate the corn map. I actually hate it more than rpd. I can't see through the corn, the dead areas etc..
I would be super happy if they just removed it from the game entirely. I would rather play on The Game map and RPD 10 times than once in the corn.
Delete cornfield map. Thank you!
-
We need 1 survivor added, and his name is: John Cena!! (Insert his theme music here)
He would have a perk called the No sell: while in the dying state activate No sell. You instantly heal to full, gain endurance for the rest of the game, and you can put the killer through a table.
Yah that's what we need. Yup.
-
Im an admitted killer main. I do play survivor from time to time. I still have tons of fun playing both roles. Solo and SWF. I admit I tend to find survivor more boring and basic, but over all I have fun.
One main reason, why? Cause I don't care if I win or lose. I do the best I can. If I lose no big deal. If I win again, no big deal. The game is too random to think I will have the same type of game everytime.
Best advice. Just don't really care if you win or lose. I just ask that in either case you win or lose with dignity.
Just my opinion. 😁

Of course I tunnel. And there's no shame in tunnelling.
When you get on a gen, do you stop at 50% to go to another gen? No? You finish it?
Me, too. Glad we understand each other.
I honestly love this take. What a great point. Never thought of it that way! 👍

tbh, sometimes I do that when I don't want to screw my team but the killer was a grade A d*ck. Idc about BP at this point and chances are I close the game after that anyway which renders the dc penalty irrelevant. So I don't lose anything. The other survs don't lose anything. - But the killer doesn't get the kill they apparently so desperately wanted (DCs don't count toward MMR or kills. They are null). It's a somewhat petty form of revenge, I give you that - but it sure beats playing right into an insufferable killer's hands.
This is a fair point and understandable.
-
My favorite ones are the survivors who dc before death hook or at the very end of the match. I showed you Mr. Killer! Lol. 🤣
-
I feel I have been seeing a lot more auto Dead Hard. I get that some people are super skilled at timing it, but everytime I tried to hit that survivor they dead harded.
That is something that is super hard to prove. They could just be that good... or they could be cheating... that's what I am going up against more I feel. Subtle cheating.
-
Honestly, I have not come across this to often. I have a way of dealing with games like that. If I know they don't want to play the game and they are just trying to be bullies I will go stand in a corner facing the wall and just afk. Let them waste their time.
I find another way to have the most fun is by not caring about a win or a loss. Just do what I can and win or lose move on to the next game.
-
I also tend to find a lot of double standards with survivors vs killers. Survivors will beat you up verbally if your doing something they perceive as bad. Camp, tunnel, run certain perk combos.
However, they can run anything they want. Play with an advantage with swf, use comms among other things. So you get shamed for the way you chose to play the game you bought. As long as your not cheating play the way you want.
I don't see killers giving survivors as much salt for playing their way. It's essentially, survivors will play how they want but if you play the way they don't want you to. Your bad.
Double standard imo.
-
I kind of look at it like this. People DC cause they say nurse is broken or OP. She makes certain mechanics in the game useless.
Doesn't swf (with comms) do the same thing? The game was not intended to have outside communication. If a killer runs a perk like knock out its almost useless. The swf cab just say, "I'm down by the killer shack come get me."
I don't see killers DCing when they face swf. Isn't it kind of the same thing? Nurse renders some mechanics mute. Well, swf does as well. At least imo.
-
For me, I am a killer main. I keep playing because I have fun doing it win or lose. I honestly feel the devs are on the right track. I have liked the majority of the changes in the last year. Some I may not agree with, but I still enjoy playing.
I'm hopeful for the future. I do feel they lean toward the survivor side somewhat. However, that makes business sense. You cater to your majority in business. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. They spend more money and bring in friends who do as well. If they feel the game is more laid back and they have a good chance of winning they stay.
I honestly wish people would realize it's a game. Some you win, some you lose. Just do what you can. Who cares in the end really? Just win and lose with dignity.
-
I'm concerned about the body blocking. If the killer is clearly going for the unhooker and you body block , that is using a defensive perk offensively.
I feel that they should just remove collision with the killer and other players during that time. Then it would incentive killers to go for the unhooker since they could not hit the person fresh off the hook.
Once the survivor does a conspicuous action or the timer wears off they lose the endurance and having no collision.

FNAF's gameplay is marketed towards kids, and I assume most people play Dead by Daylight for the gameplay and not the lore. FNAF would bring a bunch of children to the game all clamoring for Springtrap. Parents would find out that their kids are playing this game and they would freak out over it. I don't want that.
I have to agree here. I have seen party favors at a party store for 4 year Olds with FNAF. I have a 10 year old nephew who loves it.
DBD does not need the demographic of that age group in the game. Having FNAF would bring them as well as the older fans. Older fans I could deal with. Young kids playing this, no thanks.
-
My 2 cents for all it's worth. Who cares? Camping, tunneling, tbagging, clicky click are all just part of the game. I do the best I can either side. Sure. I find some things unfair and unfun, but over all I'm having a good time.
I don't care about winning or losing. Both of those are part of any game. I play they way I want to play. I don't follow anyone's rule book. As long as your not cheating than it should not matter.
BHVR will add things and take things and change things. I don't always agree with it or like it, but I still play the game and do the best I can win or lose.
Go into each match and try not to care too much. You will have a better time. Don't let it get to you and remember, win and lose with dignity.
-
Killers should be the power role in the game. It's still 4 vs 1. Add in comms and it's even more tilted in one direction.
I think BHVR looked at the kill rates and said they need to be higher. With SWF that's going to be tough. The killer has been givin nothing to compensate for the coordination and communication the survivors get.
Perhaps BHVR wanted to change that. Make it more fair for killers. I think it is a great patch so far. We all just need to learn to adapt.
Just my opinion.
-
I find survivor boring in all honesty. Hold M1 on a gen or run around a car 10 times and drop a pallet.
At least with killer, they have different abilities and strategies. I find it more fun.
I think tho, what we need to realize is, it's just a game. You win some you lose some. Who cares in the long run? Just do what you can, play the way you want to play as long as your not cheating. Don't let anyone tell you how to play.
If we did that we would all have more fun. Just my opinion. 🙂

Mindgames in chases actually matter. Now its a mental fight between survivors and killers. Not press E to win anymore.
As killer you feel less forced to tunnel and camp as it seems games are slower now, so more chases, more fun, more opportunities for everyone, more BP!
I might be rushing this feeling but this might be the best balance patch they ever did.
Thank you for making this game great again.
I am a killer main all day long. I have to agree. In my first game after the patch I played killer. I was chasing a Kate. She headed toward a pallet..... IF she had dead hard, she would have used it for the distance and made it. But, you known what?? She did not have it!
Oh what a feeling of pleasure to get that down. I smiled from ear to ear. My whole match I did not see one dead hard. It was glorious! No need to camp or tunnel. Gens felt better. I had time to apply more pressure.
I feel BHVR did a good job on this patch! Killers should be the power role. Now it feels like it's more towards that goal. Good job so far!
-
I agree as well. The killer should be the power role.
-
BHVR wants to encourage more swf players. Swf is where the money is. People bring their friends to the game to play with them. They spend money on cosmetics and add on packs etc.
It makes business sense. I feel they don't really have much love for solo players. The game was not designed with the intention of communication between survivors. Discord etc makes that happen and gives advantages that solo survivors don't get.
I agree with most on here that solo q will be tougher and those people might switch it up. Just remember as Mr Krabs says it's all about the money, money, money!
-
I am a killer main all day long. The way I have the most fun is I don't care about a win or a loss. I play how I want. I mainly play to the situation. If I feel I need to camp or tunnel I will.
If I feel I have the game in a good spot I will spread out and try to go for more chases. I like a challenge in my game. I don't want easy games. If I wanted to win all the time I would play Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
I never let the survivors dictate how I should play and I will never give them a hard time for how they play. We need to remember, it's just a game. Win some lose some.
Just try to win and lose with dignity.
-
For me, whe. Whispers goes off I spend too much time looking around the area for the survivors. If it's a map with 2 levels like RPD then I find it wastes more time.
I just may not be using it properly.. but still I just pass on it.
-
Yun Jin Lee has the worst sounds. When she is getting carried to the hook it makes me laugh evey time. It's almost as if whoever was doing the sounds for her that day was like, "Let's see how funny I can make her sound." Just listen to it all I hear is DUH, UH, DUH lol.
-
I always love it when they do that. It's like, "Ha! I showed you Mr. Killer!" "I got outplayed but I won't give you the satisfaction of knowing you won haha."
I just have to laugh. If you just want easy games where You're Winner! Then Just play Hello Kitty Island Adventure. After all, who wants a challenge in their video game?
