  • Detectives Hunch is my fav survivor perk. I can usually find 3 totems after one gen pops. I just remember where they are and go get them. Usually by the 3rd gen I have most if not all of them destroyed. Don't sleep on Detectives Hunch.

  • After reading the title I thought of Steven Segal getting summoned to break your arm and cause the mangled status effect. ๐Ÿคฃ

  • I'm a killer main all day long. I don't want swf removed and I am fine playing against them. Hell I have been doing that anyway since I started playing when Myers came out.

I feel that this game is too random. Your going to win some and lose some. I do feel that the killer should be compensated in some way for the advantage swf (especially with comms) has.

I enjoy playing against a good group of survivors. I like challenge in my games. If I wanted easy games evey time I play a game I would go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

I just go into every game and do my best win or lose. I know how to win and lose with dignity. At the end of the day, it's just a game.

  • The plague would be tall and stacked. On dates you could buy her lots of skin care products and take her to spas lol...

Your profession is that of a dermatologist. She would be all over you.

  • I have said before that swf is unfair to the killer because the killer is givin nothing to compensate for the communication and coordination (especially on comms) that the survivors get. It does not matter if your just friends playing to have fun or a bully squad. It's still an advantage.

They need to give the killers something to compensate. As of now as a killer I go into a match knowing if it's a swf I will most likely be at a disadvantage. I still accept it and play the game. I just wish they would give the killer something...

  • I will let Mr. Krabs explain why the game favors the survivors.

    but they totally should

gutting DH,COH,NOED,Starstruck, etc etc etc would be huge, imagine how fresh the game would be with a whole new meta

The meta is so stale. It needs to change. Out of the over 100 perks all you see is the same thing on both sides.

Hell, you don't even need to actually have a meta perk equipped. However, you have to play around the THREAT of them having it. That goes for both sides.

  • Tall_Man.jpg

Go for it. Cause I can't think of anything lol

  • I am a killer main through and through. People often wonder why I put up with it or how I have so much fun playing the game.

I look at the game this way. It's a game. I Will win some I will lose some. I just play the way I want and try different things. I don't let others dictate how I play. This game is too random. You never know what you will get.

In time you will get better, you will learn how to mind game survivors or what strats work best for you. The game does tend to favor survivors as they are the bread and butter for BHVR. They make them the most money. You want to keep them happy and playing.

Best advice I can offer, go into a game knowing your most likely at a disadvantage and just do the best you can. Don't care about win or loss. Just GG after the match and move on. Good luck out there! ๐Ÿ˜„

  • I want the Tall Man from Phantasam as killer.

As for survivor: Pee Wee Herman. Imagine his laugh when he stuns a killer or his surprise sound getting yanked off a gen lol.

  • I think people tend to forget, it's just a game. People play the game for different reasons. Some want to just chill some want to win at all costs, some want to goof around. You can't tell people how to play the game they bought and paid for. Even if you don't like their perks or choice of how to play.

The killers job is to kill you. Does not matter how they do it as long as they are not cheating. Same goes for survivors, they are trying to survive. However they do that is up to them.

I personally hate dead hard with a passion as a killer. However I would never tell someone they suck for using it. Remember, it's just a game. Win some lose some. Just try to win and lose with dignity.

  • The problem is swf (with comms) is an advantage. It does not matter if your a sweat squad or just friends chilling. It's an advantage.

The killer is givin nothing to compensate for the swf group having that kind of information and coordination. When I go into a match as killer, I know I am at a disadvantage. I chose to play the game and accept that fact.

What they could do to balance I have no idea. I just hope they do something.

They weren't Shadow nerfed, it was stated in the patch notes.

I stand corrected. Thank you for pointing that out. Carry on all. ๐Ÿ˜

  • If I remember right, Mori's were shadow nerfed to be used only on death hook. I don't recall seeing anything about changes being made to it. Then I logged in and boom was changed.

Again. I could be mistaken... but I seem to remember people being upset nothing was said.

  • I think they should incentive both sides to play. For example: if the killer opts to play against swf they get bonus blood points AND shards. The swf would not get anything as they are at an advantage.

On the flip side, if a killer chooses to go against solos, the solos get the bonus xp and shards. Make it more worth while shards or auric cells would do that.

Most killers I think would chose to play against swf as they get rewarded for it Even knowing they are at a disadvantage. I mean hell, killers play against swf now. What's the difference?

A least that's my 2 cents. Just do something.

  • Another issue is that the killer gets nothing to compensate for the communication that survivors have. Sure, some swf may not be on comms. We have to assume they are and plan accordingly.

Perks like knockout are negated by swf. "I am down by the killer shack come get me." That's an advantage. "My gen is at 90 get to an exit gate." Etc...

The killer player is just expected to deal with it and git gud. Swf (especially with comms) is an advantage.

  • I am of the mind that some games I will get killers I do not like. I will get Survivors who are good players, I will go up against meta builds, I will get a map i don't like, but you know what I do? I play the game.

I like a challenge. Some games I win, some I lose. At least I tried. If you don't want a challenge then go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure where the most challenge is growing strawberries or something.

Win or lose with dignity. It's just a game.

  • Blood Warden imo. You think you made it and boom!

  • I have said before. Swf on comms is an advantage no matter how you look at it. You may be causal friends or a swat squad. It's still an advantage.

My problem is the killer is givin nothing to compensate for the level of communication the survivors have. Sure not all may be on comms, but we have to assume they are and balance as if they are.

Again the killer needs some form of compensation to make up for it. What that is I have no idea, but something needs to be done.

  • I am a killer main. I do play survivor on occasion however. The game definitely makes it easier on survivors. It boils down to money. The survivors outnumber the killer 4 to 1. They buy the majority of cosmetics. They bring in their friends. They in turn spend more money.

In any business you cater to your majority. If the survivors feel the game is easy they will keep playing. Just makes business sense.

I have found the best way to have fun, is to not give a s**t about winning or losing. Just say f it. As a killer you know you are at a disadvantage. I will just do what I can.

  • I agree as well. I would think that it would add an extra layer of thought and panic to the survivors. It is after all a horror game. Their friend went down. They can escape, open the door now... or we can risk it and go back for our friend but will we be able to open the gate in time?

Would make for alot more tension in the match. Just my opinion tho.

  • Imagine, your playing Monopoly with your grandma. It's been a close game. You own park place. All you need is boardwalk. If you get boardwalk you can load it with hotels.

Your so close. Then your grandma lands on boardwalk. She buys it. You know you have lost.

Do you flip the board and yell at your grandma how much she sucks and you hope something bad happens to her? Of course youu don't. So why would you in a video game?

In any game you win some and you lose some. Just accept that people will play the way they want, even if you don't like or agree with it. At the end of the day, it's a game.

  • The problem with swf (especially with comms) is the level of coordination and communication they have.

The killer gets nothing to compensate for that. They are just expected to git gud and deal with it.

I have no idea how they could balance it. Everyone can agree. Swf (with comms) IS an advantage.

  • I love the people that DC at the beginning of the match for whatever reasons. Oh I don't like the killer, oh I got outplayed, oh they looped me, oh they locker stunned me. DC!

Insert Cartmans voice, "Screw you guys..... I'm going back to the lobby."

My thing is.... if you don't want a challenge in your video game, go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure. There you can have no challenge and win all the time! You're Winner ๐Ÿ†

Just play the match. You may get beaten or you may win. At least try. Don't just DC cause you want an easy game. Enjoy the challenge.

  • I feel BHVR does not want to admit they got something wrong or made a mistake by adding something.

Even with overwhelming feedback of how bad something is they just wait on it and wait on it and then perhaps they will work on it. "We thought about this and that, but we can't say anything yet."

That's the response you get. They don't admit they messed up or did not have a good idea.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but just a side note of who actually uses knockout?

No one lol. Cause they know it's useless against swf. ๐Ÿคฃ

  • I have said this in a previous post. Swf (especially with comms) is an advantage.

Sure killers can still win. You should not be punished for playing with friends.

I would hope everyone can admit that it IS an advantage. A perk like knockout is negated by swf on comms. "I'm down by the shack come get me"

    That's an advantage.

  • My whole point is simply, swf (especially with comms) is an advantage.

It does not matter if your just friends chilling, a sweat squad, a depip or bully squad or any other combination.

    It's an advantage.

Killers aren't punished. This is a long-winded way of saying "killers can't win if survivors actually play well/smart", and that's simply not the case if the killer is good.

I'm not arguing that point. The killer can most definitely win even against a swf. Im just saying that swf is an advantage. Even more so on comms.

The game is too random to think you can win every game on either side. Best way to play it is just don't care win or lose.

I just think killers should be compensated in some way. To make up for it.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2881317#Comment_2881317

imagine getting punished just for playing with your friends

But why is it ok for the killer to be punished? Swf especially with comms is unfair to the killer player. Sure, you may be just friends having fun and not a sweat squad.

But, at the end of the day it's still an advantage. You can call out locations, you can pre plan loadouts, you can coordinate during the match. A perk like knockout is useless against swf. "Oh guys im down at the killer shack."

So the killer gets punished but, it's ok for the survivors to have that advantage. The killer should at least be givin something to compensate for swf.

  • If sprint burst was actually better than dead hard it would be used by a lot more survivors. I as a killer main do not see that many sprint bursts. I see 2 to 3 dead hards almost every match.

I think people say sprint burst is better to take away the focus from dead hard, which they know Is the best perk in the game.

Again, this is just my opinion. Play what ya want. ๐Ÿ˜„

  • I loved that map. Especially as a killer. I am always hopeful they will bring it back but with a visual change. For example make it a trickster map by turning it into a burnt out record studio or something like that.

Just change the assets in the map but keep the layout.

  • It all boils down to Mr. Krabs favorite thing. Money! ๐Ÿ’ฐ like was stated above. You cater to your majority in any business. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1.

Survivors play with their friends. They bring more into the game. In turn those friends buy more cosmetics and packs etc..

You need to make the game feel easier for them. If they feel more in power they will stay. If they lose all the time they will leave. It's sad. BHVR needs to balance the game, but how far is to far?

Bottom line, survivor needs to be the power role but not seem like it is. We can see now that with SWF really is the power role.

Killers are given nothing to compensate for SWF. It's unfair. But hey, it makes them more money ๐Ÿ’ฐ ๐Ÿค‘

  • I feel that swf is unfair based on the communication that survivors have. Take the perk "Knock Out" for example. A group of solos is not going to know where their teammate is unless they are near them. Swf on the other hand can just say, hey guys im down by the killer shack. That is an advantage no matter how you look at it.

People should not be punished for playing with their friends. However, I do think that another major problem is the killer is given nothing to compensate for the swf coordination and communication they get.

It seems killers are just expected to git gud and deal with it. I feel that is unfair. The killer should be given something to compensate.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • My issue is that swf breaks certain mechanics. Take the perk "knock out" for example. 4 solos will not have much of an idea where their teammate went down unless they get near them.

A swf will say, hey guys im down by the killer shack. Right there that is an advantage they should not have. So swf is a problem. I don't feel people should be punished for playing with friends.

My main issue is, the killers are given nothing to compensate for the level of communication the survivors get. It's as if the killers just need to accept it and git gud. That to me is an unfair advantage.

  • Dead hard. No question in my mind. I see both in my games, but dead hard use outnumbers CoH as far as I can tell.

  • I made a rule for myself long ago. If your the last survivor and you don't struggle I will give you hatch/door.

If there is a DC I usually will farm with the remaining survivors Just so we all get points and keep our pips at least.

If your toxic or just being a butthead then you get the hook.

  • I have been playing a good long time. If I remember correctly, they added the dash forward as a way to show that dead hard was used.

Used to be you would hit the survivor and the hit would not register. You were left wondering what just happened. Why did my hit not connect? They used Dead Hard.

They added the rush forward to show it was Used. Inadvertently they wound up buffing the perk as now its Used for distance as well as avoiding a hit.

Again, if i remember right. I'm pretty sure u am tho.

  • You have to remember, this game needs to favor the survivors. They need to win more often they need to feel more in power. It is how BHVR makes their money.

Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. Survivors bring in their friends to play. Those friends buy characters and cosmetics. Sure, some killers do as well. No where near as much as survivors though.

It makes business sense to cater to your majority. After all they need to make money. If the survivors felt they were underpowered and could not win as much then they would not play as much and hence BHVR would lose money.

Nothing wrong with taking a break. Lots of other fun games out there to play.

  • Pick dead hard and hit that big ol delete button.

Or get rid of the dash portion and make it only avoid hits. Then it's more about skill and timing it. Other than oh I got outplayed hit the E button.

  • Dead hard is so good because it gives you 2 options for 1 perk. Negate a hit or get extra distance or sometimes both at the same time. That is what makes it overpowering. You can do it on command anytime you want (while injured)

Most high level/skilled players use it for distance. If you were to remove the distance factor I feel it would not be used as much. It needs a change. If they want to show an animation for dodging a hit, then when it's used just show the survivor ducking or leaning to the side. Then the killer knows the hit did not register cause of the dead hard. No distance gained.

  • I personally would love to see the meta gutted on both sides. Nerfed into oblivion. Noed, ruin, pop, corrupt, ds, bt, unbreakable, dead hard all of them.

Just one day we log in and it's completely changed shadow nerf style. Imagine the pitchforks and torches everyone would bring. Pure chaos.

  • I have yet to receive mine as well.

  • The_Tall_Man.jpg

Gets my vote. Mori would be awesome

True but wouldn't you like it to be more of a win some lose some set up where you can learn from it and not have it be because the game is broken.

Absolutely my friend. I would love for a balanced game. One that takes into account everything. It would be nice to be able to learn from losses without feeling like you were screwed over by the game.

I also feel that this game will never favor the killer. Sole reason being, money. In any business you cater to your majority. The majority is survivors. They buy the cosmetics, they bring their friends to play who buy in turn. If the game is easier for them but not overly easy they will stay and play.

If they feel they can't win as much they won't stick around and bring their friends. BHVR won't make as much money. It sucks but it's standard business.

I hope things get better for you. For me I just honestly don't care about a win or a loss. I know the game favors one side and I just accept it.

    Good luck my friend!

  • I look at it this way, as a killer main I know that when I go into a match I am going to be at a disadvantage. It's 4 to 1 and if they are a swf with comms it is even more of a disadvantage.

So I find going in with the expectation that I will do my best, but my chances to lose are higher then it's not so bad. At the end of the day. It's just a game. You win some you lose some. Sometimes your on a winning streak sometimes a losing streak. Take the good with the bad, try not to care and just do you. ๐Ÿ˜„

  • It's survivor sided for sure. Survivors outnumber killers 4 to 1. Here is why they favor survivor.

  • Remember theae are the people that removed pinhead voice lines cause of Dr. Evil air quotes "a bug" when we all know the real reason.

They are removing it to avoid any PR fasco. I have not once in my over 3k hours had a game against leatherface where I saw them abuse that skin.

    Lol laughable.
