It’s the only skin I’ve wanted so far from all of them. No way in hell I’m paying that much for my Trapper to look nice. Oh well. They did a good job on it.
It doesn’t look good though. That and the clown purple rift skin this month. Whenever I see those I can’t stop laughing. I can’t focus on anything else in the game. So, maybe it’s worth it after all?

stop the theatrics. First off, nurse has always been more difficult on console. You have to be more precise with a less precise tool at your disposal. Nerf didn’t change her blink distance, time to charge a blink, etc.
you must be playing on the Switch if you face rank 1 nurses, on any major platform, and they “don’t even get a kill.” Not knocking the Switch itself, just the horrible frames/graphics/controls given to it

I'm not saying the hitbox should be the same, as of course a hatchet is way bigger than the tip of a spear. I just did the comparison because Slinger's hitbox feels way more realistic than Huntress'.
Have you ever held a throwing hatchet and a spear gun?

They're not. One is a button, one requires gameplay. The game can't look at every hook and be like "Ehhh he meant to do that" but pressing a button is pressing a button
You’re talking about the means, I’m talking about the end result

Hitting the leave button and playing your way to death are NOT the same thing
Essentially, they are. Killer gets a survivor removed with little to no effort.

if they dont want to play then they can go play a different game
the idea that they can ruin the game for 4 other people with no repercussions is asinine
and the purpose of them staying is to give the rest of the team time to try to do something inexperience is not the same as throwing and with nearly 2k posts you know that
Before dead-icated servers, the number of gens you had to do changed based on how many queue’d in. 3 survivors = 4 gens, 2 = 3 (if memory serves). Maybe that could be revisited for suicides on hook in the first minute of a game or something. I dunno

Happens to me on ps4 all the time.
DBD can be quite hard on controllers, having to rotate quickly when being carried.
On PS4 I would experience more slower rotations and slower movement, but never crazy camera flicks upwards, when I’m not even touching the right stick.
Thanks to DBD, I probably went through at least 6 DS4 controllers.
-
That’s my goal every game. The more you play this game, the more you realize not every event that occurs has any relation to you, or to the survivor(s). I try to be cognizant of those moments, on both sides.

Before we get a new map, how about fixing massive dead zones. I’m deeply puzzled how maps get updated in the state they’re in. Not only for dead zones, but gen placement as well.

YES! Same here. Happens on my PS5 on the PS5 version, on both of my controllers. Did Sony’s controller update screw it for dbd only (doesn’t happen on other games) or is this a game specific issue?

Not smurfing. This is my only account. And like it says in the title: SOLO Q.
Also, you’re team consists of a Rank 15, 17 and 20. (a) lower your expectations and think back to when you first started (b) if you’re team is dropping like flies, you need to take the aggro and let them do gens, yeah?

Nurse and Huntress. I can be decent with huntress, but I need a few games to get used to playing her again (plus I’m on console, and play on different TVs, so finding the sweet spot can be rough). Nurse is just....I know what I want to do, where I want to go, where the survivor is....but I just can’t blink where my mind wants me to go 😂

Did you even read what I've written? This is simply a nerf to the Twins and not a slight nerf, they are butchering them. It is not a matter of learning how to play a killer if the strategy to counter them is simply unfair.
Guess you’ll have to learn a NEW way to play them. Darn
-
@GlamourousLeviathan said:
This Victor update is so bad. 10 seconds is nothing considering that most of the chases you are going to be using Victor from the other side of the map. Not only that, but it simply conflicts with the Twins playstyle. Everyone has been just unbinding Victor and letting him go on a rampage, only returning to Charlotte when her brother gets crushed or attached to someone. People do this to avoid the ridiculously slow process of going from point A to B to grab and hook the survivor. Having Victor hold the locker instead of hitting the survivor inside of it just breaks the entire momentum. This makes entering a locker a viable strategy to counter the Twins which is simply absurd. Lockers should be used as high risk high reward stealth not as straight up protection from a chase.
I guess you’ll have to tune in to your favorite streamer to learn how to play them then 🤷♀️

I can't tell you how many times I've slugged someone for not even 20 seconds and I got called a PoS. Everytime I run Knock Out (cuz I love that perk), I get assaulted with more death threats than normal. Every time I slug for pressure because gens are flying I get called a baby killer. That is a very false statement
Because Knock Out kills your damn ears. When I get downed and the killer is running knock out I want to instant DC. I hate that sound with a passion. I don’t know why the devs added it. God lol

Dead hard has been broken since the introduction of dedicated servers, because the way they coded dead hard was to work with a p2p connection not dedicated servers.
They are currently reworking the code of dead hard to make it useable with servers.
It will take a lot of time though.I'm guessing something like 6 months or so
Where ya pulling that out of? Last time I checked, dedicated servers didn’t just come out. “6 months” 😂

What rank are you farming at. Purple and Red usually get it. Green and lower don’t always. Not everyone trusts it though (I’ve seen killers noed everyone after the last gen, etc).
Also, straight farming is boring for a good amount of people. So, maybe 2 hooking everyone and then letting them go. Gives everyone a game, but usually at the end they’ll finally get it

It's a shame you don't take the time to learn how to play survivor well, or how to counter a Killer - but please ignore what I say next and continue with thinking all Killers should just only have m1 and can be looped indefiently (which is what Freddy is when you play against him right).
Don't waste time running across the map to wake up. Don't tell the Killer where you are by failing a skill check to wake up. When you save someone from hook, have that person wake you up immediatly. Also if the Killer goes in chase with a survivor from across the map, you can fail a check to force the Killer to decide to either continue chasing their target, or switch to you. Switching to you means he has to go across the whole map, or waste his power - if you know he used his teleportation recently (which you would since it has a global audio trigger) - even better to fail a check when it's on cooldown. If you fail the check, and he does choose to change targets. Then he is chasing you while you are awake, and is just a m1 Killer.
But yeah, I'm sure you're not going to read any of that and continue to think this character is broken when he is so easily countered and easy to beat. There are other tips too, like not running from a gen spewing blood, walk away / sneak away instead. Don't leave scratch marks, that's what Freddy has to use to find you.
I was kinda waiting for some sort of mindbreaking tips. Instead it’s “waste time waking up and hide”
-
Just a question. I hadn’t played for the past 2 months

I have this problem with Freddy; he can walk right up to me - he's basically a stealth Killer when I'm in the dream world.
Huntress' hum is more ear wormy than Freddy's lullaby, but I like the hum so I don't really mind.
Her hum offers no direction, it muffles the heartbeat at times. Freddy’s is god awful though - I hate it with a passion.

@TheButcher said:
The only reason why Freddy does so well is because he is balanaced. Good survivors have no issue against him. Bad survivors complain the game is boring because they refuse to do gens, and get distracted by his power.
This should be a base reference for all Killers. All Killers should have the ability to traverse the map quickly, to create an additional objective for survivors to distract them from their objective, an ability to scout survivors, and have the ability to make looping more difficult.
The only reason Freddy does so well, is because he has all of this, and the Killer playerbase finally has a balanced killer that can reflect all of their skill.
People say he's an easy mode killer, but on the contrary new freddy's suck till they learn the basics of the game. People say he is boring to face, because they can't bully a Killer that can actually act as the power role in a match. People say he is easy to go against, because he actually is - as everything he can do comes with sound/visual notifications, can be avoided, and countered. Playing against him is easy, when you learn how to actually play survivor.
you know Freddy is getting changed, right?
-
Well, I took 2 months off. Came back, finished levels 1-3 in Tome V in about a week? And I’m pretty close to going back to some other games. The new killer looks ridiculous. Somehow Chucky is an impossibility, but now we get to kick a little deformed baby that has unlocked the ability to regenerate itself back into his sisters chest. I’m sure the next killer will require slaughtering a litter of puppies or devouring a box of kittens. Seriously, the Twins is the best most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in this game. I’m actually highly surprised Victor doesn’t have an instadown add on (unless he does? Lol), exhaustion add on, blindness add on, etc. it’s just...dumb
few more days maybe, then I need a break from this game that has just gotten ridiculous

Also keep in mind two of those killer perks can be erased from the match at the start of it. After that tinkerer becomes more of a “look what gen you’re about to lose”.

@dezzmont said:
Yeah. Survivors kinda dug their own graves with this one.
The bloodlust test was a shot in the foot for example: Turns out that killers don't enjoy the game devolving into a minute and a half chase around a loop once you are dead to rights gotten and your not trying to actually escape the chase, and a 45 time limit to how long you can loop a killer without dropping a chase is sorta necessary for the experience to not be a nightmare.
Survivors defend this by saying killers just get a 'free' speedboost to win the chase with no skill but... looping and counter looping at safe loops isn't a skill based interaction at all. The survivor without Bloodlust is just getting to win the chase (or draw it out to an unreasonable timeframe) with no skill. It cuts both ways, one of the two sides 'deserves' to win after investing a certain amount of time, and skill plays very little into it. So having a universal chase time limit is just a sensible thing to do: If the killer can afford to invest a MINUTE THIRTY SECOND MINIMUM to get two hits on a healthy survivor, it probably means that the killer is in such a superior position that its totally fine to say 'Survivor, make a play or lose.' But framing it as 'the killer isn't skilled enough to win that loop' means that... well... endgame devolves into nonsense that killers don't want to deal with, so they LEAVE.
It has nothing to do with the killer needing Bloodthirst to win games. The killer in theory already won the game, its a question of if your goin to be a sweaty jerk and stall the game for 2 minutes when its really over and you don't have a shot. If bloodlust is majorly affecting the midgame, it means either the killer is throwing and you should be good enough to climb out of ranks where Bloodlust is a major mid game mechanic, or your not a good survivor because your constantly in situations where you can't pip despite the killer being bad at time management.
So, whoopsie poopsie, a bunch of killers just noped out of DBD for a while because the mere IDEA of the test was a bad idea, as anyone who has ever had to be certified to do research would know: Because the burden of the experiment was placed on the backs of the people who wouldn't benefit from the experiment and caused 'harm' to them, the research was exploitative. In the grand scheme it wasn't a very damaging exploitation, but it does fit the definition of exploiting human subjects, and a lot of people subconsciously got that and realized they didn't want to be treated like lab rats in experiments that discount their needs and enjoyment of the game so they bounced.
Balancing the game around every petty gripe of survivors that the killer has a morsel of QOL mechanics to prevent survivors from bullying them endlessly is how we got the situation in 2017.
And to be clear the QOL situation of killers is deliberately kept in a bad spot to allow survivors to harass them because that is part of what sells this game: Case in point the killer's 'concession' mechanic is deliberately weak to give survivors the power to teabag at the gate. It would have been trivial to make the end game collapse 'surrender' just give survivors the emblem progress of healing each other and surviving and instantly ending the game, but there is a big dramatic countdown that forces the killer to continue participating in their own loss. It just sucks, and survivors are very aware its frustrating and enjoy taunting the killer over it rather than being class acts and just ending the game.
Its little things like that, little things where its sorta clear the devs are trying to almost 'edge' the killer, pushing the role to the brink of being a punching bag without making anyone go over the edge, that causes massive Q times. There is a massive economic incentive for BHVR to make the 'many' role of survivor feel powerful, and to encourage toxic gameplay loops to keep the survivors coming back buying tons of cosmetics and bringing more friends into the game. And it felt like we were pulling out of that situation (Survivor finally got remotely challenging again so I started playing it again, its nice to sometimes lose as a solo at red ranks, and killer didn't feel like BHVR actively hated my guts) but it feels like we are going right back into prime 'Ochido' mode where the survivor community just wants people to bully again and doesn't want an actual, you know, GAME.
Huh?
bloodlust was put into the game for infinites. That existed 3-4 years ago. There are zero infinites in this game. YouTube what an actual infinite looked like. Bloodlust is not needed in 2020-2021

Who says that? Blight is pretty weak on his own. Bring the right perks and the right add ons and he’s viable.

A sizable portion who play this game are relatively young (15-24) and do not fully comprehend others exist outside themselves. I don't like that mentality. That's like saying "I'm ok with losing every game while the survivors walk all over me as long as I get some points so I can.....keep losing with whatever those points got me"
I rarely run BBQ. But when I do; many times the first person will die, and I will have 1 BBQ stack. And I always giggle to myself about that. That game is a perfect example of why. The Dwight probably could have run him for 4-5 gens if he played the god window better. I also noticed how he was seen vaulting it again later in the video. That's exactly the kind of person you should not feel bad about camping or tunneling, because that's exactly the kind of survivor who will be running you through every god-window in the game if they could.
When I load into a map like Springwood, and see a survivor, and the first thing they do is beeline to the house of pain; I think to myself "I'm killing this guy on first hook if I can"
If you perceive It that way, but that says more about you. ;)
-
it happens.
Part of it is the build. Tinkerer procs but all it does for you is “hey, you’re going to lose a gen, nothing you can do.”
Second - try working on moonwalking. You backtrack in some of the right spots, but if you turned and hid you’re light, it’d help you out more (don’t fall in love with it, just need to know the spots you can get value from it).
So don’t quit. Reset your goal. Change it to “I’m gonna put BBQ on and hook everyone at least once.” Then if you do better, great. If not, all good. Killer is very frustrating to play. Almost on par with playing survivor solo queue vs sweaty killers
