A 1990s style comedy where The Pig and The Cenobite have to begrudgingly work together to please the Entity.

Amanda just kills the test subjects too soon, which clashes with Pinhead's desire to see suffering. They have to work together if they want to win the Entity's talent show.

Amanda: ' Not yet, the game has to played first. He has not even discovered the Key implanted in his lung yet.'

Pinhead: 'Oh please, We are delaying a most excellent suffering here.'

  • I know what you mean, it IS a silly behaviour. But I don't like making fun of someone who feels wronged, I learned the good ideas when I took de-escalation as part of Retail Education. Its not to take the high road on you, but I think lifting people up instead of laughing down is better, because Id like that to happen to me in the same situation, Golden rule style.

I have been playing dbd for quite some time, i have 300 hrs, i was iri 3 and i stiil am a preety high rank, but i still face the same killers that only have 3 brain cells, the camping and tunneling killers, i know most of the community finds them, but i am just tired of them, every time i want to wear my pink yui combo with the kimono i get tunneled off the hook, so tell me, how you deal with them, cuz dc-ing is just better than to pipe down.

You want to unhook a person when:

    1. When the Killer is not near by.
    2. When the Killer is not right next to you.
    3. The Killer is occupied and invested in doing something else.
    4. Its up to your Teammates to take the Killer's attention, if they don't, the Killer might come back to the hook.

What to do when you unhooked them:

    1. Heal them fast.
    2. Make noise, if the Killer is coming, Hope it gets their attention.
    3. Should the Killer have spotted you & the unhooked, you must body block against the Killer.
    4. Should the Killer have spotted only you, Do not run somewhere safe with pallets, as that could make the Killer feel more inclined search for the unhooked instead.

    Good Luck.

  • No, Salty comments are actually a negative. Negative comments are what disappoints me.

Its way better when they write funny messages on my Steam profile instead.

Life is too short to be Salty.

The issue here is that there is no business incentive for them to fix it. If they were willing to spend money and resources on it,hackers who fly and hold people hostage would be gone.

    Wallhacks,aimbots,no,but those would be.

Uhm... no, they would not be gone. because the hackers who develop the cheats/hacks also have a business incentive to restore to hack/cheat functionality.

My proposal is to hit the Cheat/Hack consumer.

Actually... those are the worst advices llke, ever. If there's a problem, it should be well-known. Specially if the devs seems to care little to nothing about it and also, isn't the first point like kind of dumb? Since you're listing ways to stop hacking.

3)Hacking a game, not only cost a lof of money but resources... you're right about that but even so. The amount of hackers have increased, and that's because BHVR don't care to deal with. And yes, I understand you wanting to believe the developers but actually, there are smaller teams with less hacking who are almost as popular as DbD. Why is that? I know, "probably they're a better community"... if you think that, let me tell you that even if there are communities less toxic than DbD the truth is, if someone finds a route shorter to the same goal, many will take it.5) You need to go through a hell just to fill a report and even so, the people you report more than anything, they don't get banned due to the "lack of proof". Also, it's not, the community should know how to do BHVR's work for them, it's like this "BHVR should work in a better in-game report to ensure it's working"

    2) don't understand the point of "downvoting it"? I mean seriously? In order to downvote something, you have to search for it first... anyway... Do you eriously believe this will do something to stop hacking?

    4) Literally no one here supports cheating. Stop being silly. They might support bullyng a killer/survivor but no more than that.

The approach to cheating/hacking is called nudging, its about creating social mechanism in the community and environment to encourage and decourage certain behaviours. I studied this is college and university and it works often: You can read more here:

Nudge theory is a concept in behavioral economics, political theory, and behavioral sciences[1] that proposes positive reinforcement and indirect suggestions as ways to influence the behavior and decision-making of groups or individuals. Nudging contrasts with other ways to achieve compliance, such as education, legislation or enforcement.

You dont seem to quite get how the mechanism works and thats fine I ought to make a better post explaining the behavioural mechanisms.

But you are wrong about we needing to make a big fuss about camping to make BHVR do anything, if you watched the streams you would know why they keep quiet.

    I wish you well.

Well the game still has to be engaging in some way in order to get you to come back to it.

I have been playing it one and off since 2017. The rush of the chase brings me back, its fun.

  • I dont think Dead by Daylight is supposed to enjoyable experience. Its a Cat and Mouse game.

Both sides are fighting for to kill or to survive.

You have to enjoy Killing or Surviving/Dying to 'enjoy' this game, and I dont think enjoy is the right word

  • @kizuati Idk if you dont know how these exploits are made and maintained but here goes.

There are money in cheating, people will buy cheats from professional hack developers. Every time BHVR patches some of the holes used by the hack developers, they will work day and night to restore functionality. Its not pretty, you can spend terrible amounts of resources fighting cheaters/hackers and they will always find another hole.

Now BHVR is always working on fixing these exploits. But development of fixes take time and is possible undone fast anyway.

How many resources do you want BHVR to invest in this? How long will it last?

    -

Now the way I think we might the best opportunity to fix the hacker problem is to come together as a Community and Developer.

    1. Hacking has become more known, increasing usage, we must avoid increasing the popularity of cheating and cheaters.
    2. Shared community content which includes cheaters, should not be shared/liked and should be downvoted.
    3. Content creators should not bring attention to hackers. Reports of cheaters should happen via the Support System.
    4. Any cheater you meet ingame should be met with disapproval and disappointment, zero social encouragement.
    5. Making sure every community member knows how to report accounts through BHVR's System. (Ingame and via Support)

Here are some very rough points about what we can do.

  • @Mooks idk if the love I have for this game is enough to push me though learning French, moving to the other side of the planet for the chance they dont need me. Would be balling tho.

  • you got it on video? @BenZ0

To answer the first point you made here. The Designer in question was playing on his own stream, in his own time, not his work time and the person questioning him had been answered many times and was told to supply feedback on the forums. Badgering a designer on their own time, when they are not working is not acceptable and a pretty rude thing to do.

And the 2nd point there, that was also addressed in a post on Steam where Mathieu explained clearly about what he meant. He was not dismissing players concerns but making a valid point about when you get frustrated on something, it might also be time to take a break. (I got frustrated with Bloodborn and took a 4 month break before I was calm enough to play it again - Bloodborn is the game that makes me frustrated). It was not an attempt at being flippant.

We do listen to player feedback, however, listening and implementing things are two very different things. And game designers know more than we do with regards to what will work, what won't etc and which direction the game is going to take.

The LF masks have been something that's discussed for years, and the decision was taking to remove them to prevent them being used in a hateful manner. This is not about banning players who racially abuse others - as that is done also, it's about trying to remove the tools to make it easy for players to abuse others in this manner...I'm still surprised that people are opposed to this.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2739876#Comment_2739876

Yepp exactly, it had been in development for some time - it's not a quick thing to implement. It was tested heavily also before we were ready to announce it to the Community, we plan things months in advance and things can be worked on for quite some time before they appear in the game. So many departments are involved in each stage.

    Thanks Mandy.

I'm not going to give you a number. Let me just say I've seen several cases of instaheals, teleporting and leaving the game before it ends, survivor changing totem status since EGC release.

'Lots' became 'I've seen several cases of ....' huh?

So just one question, you have seen all of these in your own games or on videos/streams etc?

  • How come its a pandemic then if you see 'lots' and I barely see any?

    How many is lots anyway? 10, 20, 50, 100?

  • Pandemic? I have not seen a hacker in 7 months.

  • Get them their own account.

  • Ofc it would fit, Dead Space is one of the best horror games.

  • I have always said, "Maps are the lifeblood of Dead by Daylight" the more maps the better, We must make sure that BHVR too wishes to overflow our senses with different locations, so that every match will forever be different with help from the random nature of the game.

Damn I wish I was a Map Developer, You take interns BHVR?

  • @jesterkind said:

Why on earth would you assume that "complications outside their control" translates to "they don't care enough to do it", instead of that it translates to it being out of their hands?

That seems like a wild jump in logic.

    Welcome to the Forum. XD

can someone from the devs correct his animation? theres seems to be players to have questionably fast cooldown between m1 and m2, and someone is walking while on m2 cooldown.

You are posting in the wrong forum subsection for a bug.

    Go here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

Read the tutorial and post a video of the issue.

  • I think its kind of sad to be addicted to number goes up, like no offense here.

Then again, I play the game cause its entertaining.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

I think many people say they are going to leave for attention, and there is always going to be turnover amongst the player base of a long running game, but the numbers do back up that a lot of people are bailing.

    Why? IMO:

    SBMM sucks out loud

Complacent/dismissive/condescending messaging from BHVR on issues of concern to the community

Long running game design issues going unaddressed

    The interminable GRIND

    Stale core mechanics

Also a lot high highly anticipated games coming out, pulling players away

Long running game design issues going unaddressed

    such as?

  • @BlackRabies said:

It's not just bug fixes all of DBD needs to be rebuilt and over hauled. When this game was first built the devs expected maybe 4-6 killers max. Now it's like what 27 killers, they're building a mansion on a small broken foundation.

What do you base that statement on? Have you seen the source code? Is it unable to support so many Killers?

I highly doubt building construction is an applicable analogy.

  • But.. this has always been the case, even before MMR.

  • @Mandy said:

Looping is not an exploit, regardless of whether or not it was initially intended it's now something ingrained into the core design of the game.

Bloodlust was introduced to counter infinites in the maps, pretty much all of which now no longer exist.

Tho, he has a point regarding the running animation being used in sorta unrealistic ways. I would enjoy seeing Survivors have momentum to their animations.

  • This could be a neat buff to Corrupt Intervention.

  • Go straight to Off Topic https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/off-topic

Im sure Mods will clean this up for you tho.

  • Seems like getting Survivors to do Bones might be easier.

  • @Pulsar said:

hey so i've played 6 matches on RPD in a row.

I would like someone else to take these matches pls

    Me, I love that Map.

  • No Thank you, I would not accept Bubba being reworked like that.

    PLEASE BHVR, DONT DO THIS.

Its up to Survivors to not stand too close

And its up to BHVR to figure out a fix to face-camping.

  • Leatherface is pretty good killer, able to force Survivors to drop pallets fast, Bubba rarely has to facecamp these days.

If BHVR goes through with the whole Mini- borrowed time by default for all Survivors, I think that would be great.

  • @Mandy said:

Stats are something we rarely share, due to the way they're taken and the arguments that ensures.

Stats do make really good fuel for dunking someone who just spouts opinions, that's true. I do enjoy getting factual when discussing game ideas.

But its ofc never fun to get told, "your opinion is wrong."

  • @Mandy said:

I do not see it often, maybe 1 in 10 something like that (although I haven't counted exactly). However, I also do the bones as I'm going around the map so there is that to consider as well.

Mandy, when was the last time we were shared Perk stats?

Its about time someone made a collection of when stats were given out, ill do it if people can find the stats for me.

For the love of God, tell them to nerf noed. I have 4.700 and I play against killer with less than 100, and only because they have noed

4000 hours and you cant get all 5 totems by yourself?

  • People find it easy to do because:

    1. You never have face the person you talk toxic to.
    2. You are shielded by layers of anonymity.
    3. Sometimes you are also talking to children, they are not adults. Keep that in mind.

In real life if you talked like that after a game of Scrabble you would quickly run out of friends to play with.

But Online Video games do not work like this, Games are created, but we are not friends. So you get a cycle where you can be toxic to many people a day and we will have to wait for BHVR to get to the report and they get a temp ban.

I have suggested this before, BHVR needs to make a an addition to the ban system, that just limits use of the chat for a long time.

She has more or less released. She is playable, we know she is... Alright. It would make sense to buff her for release and if they overdid it, well, you know, they can modify it again.

It makes no sense to be like, "things can change lul" but then write off changes as though they cannot be changed.

Killer is not even released yet. Slow down. Nobody is writing anything off, its way too early to say for sure. Relax.

Yes, no one want to play worse variant of killers when they have a choice, unless they are some strange man or bored enough in basegame.

Meh, I remember the stats saying the base game killers are picked the most, Oh and Doctor. Huntress, Wraith, Trapper, Billy.

Yeah, No you are objectively wrong on the idea

    @Pulsar said:

They haven't buffed Legion and it's been 2+ years of him being the worst.

But Legion is up for buffs supposedly together with Ghostface next.

So Legion was low on the list, probably because of Legions decent win rate and popularity.

Regardless, these arguments are a red herring, it would requires like time travel to make the gameplay changes by the standard that seems to be set here and I dont think you will get those met.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2820153#Comment_2820153

Because buff would be extremely late to the point she might as well not exist till that day.

    😯 what?

if a Killer cant be OP or 'good' by release they might as well not exist until they are buffed?

Sorry mate you have way harsh expectations, things have to be released and get modified.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2819425#Comment_2819425

Few people are going to buy, much less play, Sadako if she's so weak that even Tofu is saying she's weak.

But BHVR is gonna buff her if its needed, idk why people are in such a rush for the Killer to be strong or OP out of the box.

I dont think BHVR is interested in selling an OP killer and then nerfing it. We have seen that before.

  • Hey, Why dont we see how the numbers turn out past March 8? No need to put it all on a Streamer and make rapid changes to a Killer.

  • RPD is good map! always has been.

    Untitled Image

  • @Pulsar said:

    I'll look at it.

I don't really think there's gonna be much hype for Sadako. Ringu is cool and I like new licenses, but considering it's not a super well-known franchise AND it was announced months ago, I don't expect there to be much hype.

My prediction is that the Survivor and Sadako will both be extremely OP because that's the only way I see them selling well.

also is it bad that i don't want a new map? the last two were midwich (yuck) and RPD (literally the worst)

also is it bad that i don't want a new map? the last two were midwich (yuck) and RPD (literally the worst)

New maps are part of the life blood of this game, a new place to hide or die is always welcome.

Dont listen to Pulsar Devs, New maps good. Please we DO want new maps.

They have form for saying things that are getting fixed and they never do. So I think OP is fair

Example of something that never gets fixed?

  • BHVR have said they are working on a better permanent solution that makes, the grind, the prestige system.

How about we wait and see what they come up with?

  • Bubba is easy to play, He has good pallet game, Hes got insta down, he makes funny noises.

    Whats not to like?

I also spent some time watching a Pro Bubba play on twitch, really inspired me to master him.

I think my favorite feature is, He can threaten a dropped pallet loop, while charging up the move that's gonna destroy the pallet.

No Killer can do that, besides maybe Billy.

  • The point of the game, is for Survivors to get out and for the Killer to kill them. In that framework, You are supposed to find entertainment.

  • Because its a Perk that relies to some extend on Teamwork, and Survivors don't like to do that so the Perk is really Powerful.
